Thank you for a very worthwhile post. Just a word of unasked-for advice to all MTs from one who has been kicked around the block a time or two: Keep a file and a log. On my log, I write the time I log on and the time I log off and the number of hours I worked that day. In the file I print out memoranda such as the one cited above. If I ever have to go to the Labor Board, Wage and Hour Commission, or my private attorney, I will have a blazing .357 magnum in terms of the file. It is a shame that we have to take such proactive measures, but as they say in the Marine Corps, CYA. Good luck to you and don't take any guff from these people. They need you as much as you need them. Too many MTs are wishy-washy and think they have to take any kind of nonsense doled out to them. They don't. The labor laws do indeed apply to at-home workers.
I believe it i was effective June 1st.

    I leflt in June. sm
One of the accounts just dumped us. It got slow all of a sudden and I was told that it would pick up. Then I found out there was plenty of work. Then all of a sudden on a Saturday we get an e-mail that said immediately we could not do the account anymore. They offered a couple different accounts but they were really bad and I wouldn't take them. Horrible platforms, money etc. My problem with KS and most of these companies is they string you along and lie to you. It wouldn't bother me so much if they would just come clean wtih you when you ask a question.
Thank you June and link inside...

Interesting Discussion on June 21 -- Did you see that?

Did you go to about the middle of page 4 -- thread started June 21, 2006.  Begins with:

Anyone turned down offers at Amphion, Axolotl or Webmedx - would like honest opinions

She's in Connecticut and she had an ad on MTJobs at the end of June. nm

Here's the link for their ad from June 16, 2009 (sm)
    Hope this helps

When doing a search on google, it said there were omitted links due to duplicates, but I clicked to show them anyway and that's when I found the link for their ad on MTStars.
They had an ad here in early June 2006. Did anyone start with them? nm

It is finally in place June 1st. It is reasonable and sm
really good. My sister has had it for yours and says Guardian is better than BCBS.
Good luck June I hope to be out
of there soon also.  There's no way you can make a living there with this company.   Good luck.
Any info on the go live starting June 1 at WMX?

Scheduled? OMG. That is so sad!
    /
    Yes, scheduled
It was my regular shift. I do PT Sun-Thu, 2nd. I do a combination of VR/regular. Had no problems today, thank goodness
Quit MQ in June - still in shock with new job. Plenty of work, OT available. (sm)
I just can't tell you how fortunate I feel.  The bonus program is good and understandable, you don't have to be a math genius to figure it out.  I have 2  accounts, great supervisor, pleasant office staff.  For those of you still unhappy with your current jobs, keep the faith, there are good companies out there.  Good luck on your search.
Did you notice on our community page new hires May/June - I think there were 19 or 20 of them. (sm)
Nothing against the new hires, but from our point of view it stinks to hire new people while many of us are/were scrapping for work.

I did notice they haven't posted any new hires like they did for May and June. nm

If you are a very scheduled person sm
and are good at staying on task, etc., then I would advise you to go for it!  I am horrible at keeping  a good schedule - but I do have a second job and when I have 2 I find I actually work better because I know I have to knuckle down and get it done or else.  Best of luck to you if you decide to take it on!
I mean that if you are scheduled for a day, you cannot just take off and make it up at the end of t
They expect you to follow your schedule and if you are on a flexible account, they expect you to get the volume that you commit to. This is any job, not just transcription. They have all employees; if someone needs to be able to work only when they can without a schedule, then KS is definitely not the place for them. That is more of an IC position. If you are an ortho or clinic MT, a lot of the accounts have 24-hour TAT and can be flexible, so it is all in what you are looking for and each account is different.
I once had a second job that was just for certain scheduled hours.
It was an easy account so lines were not a problem either way. They never mentioned a minimum line count. I was expected to empty out my queue on the dictaphone if I could, but they were great about not putting too much on. If I didn't finish it I just had to let them know so they could do what was left. It was a small local company that just had one cardiology group account. Keep looking, you may find what you need yet!
    Were you scheduled to work?

I know sometimes when I'm not scheduled to work but have to make up hours or lines, I don't get work when I log on.

I was slow yesterday but had work. (It was my scheduled weekend, for those who think I'm trying to steal work.)

I left after nine years in June before the pay cut and I am very happy in my new position and making

not picky about punching in right when you are scheduled,
just so you get your work done.  Also, remember the time clock and punching in out keeps track of your lines per hour which the more lines per hour the more you are paid.  Its not bad at all!!!
    Can't work when you're scheduled
They have plenty of work but can't get into their system.  They either have too many working or not enough.
Superior does on your scheduled days off.
    Great company to work for!!
I'm scheduled to start soon, now I'm worried.
Somehow I'd gotten the idea they had improved their ways of treating people over the last year or so. I'm beginning to wonder if Focus is even worth trying out.
If you are working a scheduled shift, you are an

I work MY SCHEDULED Hours, do you?
Let's not fight about this. I stated some do not and then scramble on the weekends to make up time, then the work is low on Monday, WHICH IS MY SCHEDULED DAY.
If you are not scheduled to work the holiday, then

you shouldn't unless the call goes out for extra help.

If you jump on when you're not scheduled to work and you have all your hours and lines, you're just taking away from those that are scheduled to work. Don't be greedy.

If the holiday is your scheduled day to work....
then you work, unless you have pre-scheduled the time off. There is a holiday line bonus added onto lines worked on the holiday.
How do we figure when they say 1-1/2 lines ^outside^ of your scheduled hours

    Is that your lines, i.e.  500 lines x1/2 = 750 lines total.

Is that what 1-1/2 lines mean?  Confusing.  How in the world can we tell if we get paid for those by the line counting method we use, Ichart?

At MQ you have to work your full scheduled hours.
They need the have all the hours covered for stats and such. I dont understand the 2 different offers for FT, I would think the latter would be PT. If you get paid by production then it would be entirely up to you how many hours you wanted to work a day. Does the 8 hour day pay more or have better benefits?
I was scheduled to work Christmas this year for TT as well....sm
But on Monday my DD went in for emergency surgery. I did not even come home for the first 2 days and only made 1 call to the office to explain early in the week. My DD was finally discharged on Christmas only to return to the ER last night. Do you know what TT's answer was with my 1 measly phone call and one abbreviated email I had time for to them? Family comes first - PERIOD. So, I am on trying to help out today if they need me and I will be GLAD to suffer thru some low work time and stare at a blank screen for a company who has those kinds of values. I VERYMUCH appreciate my job with TT and all that they stand for...
The sun'll come out tomorrow - saw in my bank that it's scheduled to go through then. (nm)

Do the MQ firm scheduled start immediately or in January? nm

For people with other things scheduled in a busy life
    That does not work.
At Webmedx, if you're scheduled for 35 hours, you may find (like I did) that (sm)
you have to do 40 due to the time clock situation.
Lanier accounts have specific scheduled times.

Once again OT offered - no work for my scheduled shift at Wbmdx. sm
I think OT is great, took advantage of some Friday myself, but for goodness sake, don't just go off for the weekend leaving OT offered when the counts are WAAAY down.  Can the Solution Center take OT off or do they have to wait for supervisors/etc. to do so.  When someone comes on for OT and they give them blocks of 10, doesn't take long to run the rest of us totally out of our shift.  Love everything else about this company, but..... this sucks.
Workload has reached a manageable level with everyone working scheduled hours.
Voluntary OT is still available on some accounts.
