Question for Webmedx Employees--If you find that you have trouble getting 7-8 hours in during--sm
your 12-hour window due to running out of work, are you required to make up those hours outside of your 12-hour window? Will they take away your benefits if you can't get 35-40 hours consistently due to work running out? Thanks!
I once had a second job that was just for certain scheduled hours.
It was an easy account so lines were not a problem either way. They never mentioned a minimum line count. I was expected to empty out my queue on the dictaphone if I could, but they were great about not putting too much on. If I didn't finish it I just had to let them know so they could do what was left. It was a small local company that just had one cardiology group account. Keep looking, you may find what you need yet!
I work MY SCHEDULED Hours, do you?
Let's not fight about this. I stated some do not and then scramble on the weekends to make up time, then the work is low on Monday, WHICH IS MY SCHEDULED DAY.
How do we figure when they say 1-1/2 lines ^outside^ of your scheduled hours

Is that your lines, i.e.  500 lines x1/2 = 750 lines total.

Is that what 1-1/2 lines mean?  Confusing.  How in the world can we tell if we get paid for those by the line counting method we use, Ichart?

At MQ you have to work your full scheduled hours.
They need the have all the hours covered for stats and such. I dont understand the 2 different offers for FT, I would think the latter would be PT. If you get paid by production then it would be entirely up to you how many hours you wanted to work a day. Does the 8 hour day pay more or have better benefits?
Workload has reached a manageable level with everyone working scheduled hours.
Voluntary OT is still available on some accounts.
Can't work when you're scheduled
They have plenty of work but can't get into their system.  They either have too many working or not enough.
of course, scheduled. All interviews are Scheduled.
nm
Webmedx gives you 12 hours. nm

At Webmedx FT is 35 hours. nm

40 hours at Webmedx, et al

I wrote my STM about this and was told that unless you have been notified that you are continually running behind with hours and lines, there is no worry.

I am still worried because so many things have changed with this company.  Used to feel safe, secure and happy to be working for them.  But I too am wary of the pep talks and rallies about how Webmedx is looking after its employees and knows the employees are what make the program successful.  Continual mergers, continual workplace changes, nothing seems too stable.  Someone is making $$$ here but not sure about the trickle-down effect.  And ASR, ISR, whatever they call it, is a hinderance in many cases and not helpful. Many facilities and dictators have been moved into ASR that in my opinion should not be there.  I spend more time correcting ASR than I would spend transcribing a report and I am certainly not paid the same rate for ASR reports.  Feels like a factory job now.  And where are those extra cpl going for the lines we produce with ASR?  Not in our pockets but paying for ASR software, corporate salaries, etc.

Bigger is hardly ever better, expect for those at the upper end of management.  Look around at this country and what has happened economically.  Gouging by management, companies failing because of greed and bad decisions, broken promises, and employees left standing in the cold with hungry families, losing their homes.  Shameful!  I fear a bigger Webmedx does not bode well for the employees.  Greed that drives large companies usually ends up biting the employees in the . . . well, you know what I mean.

It has been a little fun watching the upper eschilon (the greedy) get theirs lately with the fall of the stock market.  Most of us who are not highly invested do not directly feel this.  But the rich had years of getting richer and the poor way too many years of getting poorer.  Now the rich are moving alongside us, poor babies, losing their millions!

Yes, six files is ridiculous. I think we've all done ..four hours of testing to find out

we're offered a whopping 7 cpl. Why waste our time. I'm not a genius but I can tell you in three files or less whether someone knows what they are doing. I've seen graduates from MT programs that have blown my mind with their no concept of punctuation or just English at all. That definitely shows up in less than six files. Let us test and move along to the next disappointing test that will come back with a joke of an offer. Gotta love it!!!

Webmedx MTs - Do you make your hours? sm
I'm rather new and finding it hard to get my 35 hours in due to running out of work. I'm on multiple accounts, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

So are you able to get your hours? If so how?

If not, are there threats over losing insurance?

thanks,

Worried
MQ does and Webmedx has benefits for 35 hours. Bet there are more 2. nm

And WebMedX is 35 for FT. SPI/Cymed is 32 hours. nm

You work for Webmedx and shor 18 hours? sm
Get another account, check the community page, some accounts have OT on them. The work is there, you just have to flex a bit on different accounts and such.
Webmedx training period. Is it 8 hours a day or...
whatever period of time your trainer designates for those first few days.  I'm starting Webmedx on Monday.  I guess I could wait to find out, but would be nice to know what others' experiences have been.  Thanks!!
You're working all hours
to make up yours but taking work from those scheduled to work. NOt that I blame you, we all need what we need, BUT WEBMEDX - YOU HAVE OVERHIRED!!!!! I don't like having to fight people for my work. As soon as I find something else, I'm outta here. Over 25 years experience down the tubes!!!
Webmedx does but it is based on hours worked, not lines. nm
.
I work 40 hours a week. I'm glad you're
back to making good money, but I don't feel that I-chart is ripping me off. If I did, I wouldn't stay.
Webmedx PTO rate of 1.08 hours per payperiod and only for Full-time Employees
Webmedx only gives PTO and insurance to full-time employees.  No PTO for the first 3 months, then something like 1.08 hours per pay period, starting at 0.  If they run out of work or your ISP goes down or your child gets sick and you cannot get in the full 35 hours to qualify for full-time, they want you to use your PTO to make sure your hours add up to 35 that week.  If you fall below 35 hours for 3 months in a row, no matter what the reason, they automatically drop you to part-time and take away your insurance.  Then, you have to work a minimum of 35 hours for the next 3 months before you will be eligible for insurance again.  As far as holidays, if the holiday falls on your scheduled work day, you have to work, unless you ask for it off in advance, but they do pay you for 8 hours of holiday at your normal rate, in addition to any lines you type that day.
Absolutely! If you're that dissatisfied with your job, find another one!
Complaining on an anonymous message board to let off steam does nothing more than just that! Very nonproductive and passive/aggressive.
Also, do you clock out for every little thing, or do you find that now you're able to still get t

Can only find that they're IC only, starting pay is 8 cpl, nonnegotiable, and they were using DSS

If you're so paranoid find another company
you type a character and leave the rest of us at Transtech alone. Thank you.
That's about as good as you're going to find .. grab it (nm)

Good company, for sure. Find one where you're SM
consistently safe from overhiring--and then come back and give all the rest of us the name. In the meantime, for me at Webmedx most days have plenty of work, although some days require adjusting my schedule during the day to the work flow.

You know, evolving electronic capabilities and patient needs have now led hospitals--our employers' clients--to expect the very quick turnaround needed. Years past have taught home MTs we can work when it suits us. Is it any wonder that MTSOs are currently doing their best to deal with these realities by overhiring when needed? Webmedx is trying to stabilize this situation to everyone's benefit--economic at least for us--by pushing its MTs to meet our commitment of hours per week while still allowing some flexibility.

I'm MsIndigo and I approved this ad. :) Best wishes whereever you land.

You're welcome! I find being on the ground floor of an account has its advantages, don't you?
There definitely is a difference and if you want to spend countless minutes searching for docs, countless spellings, then you are not making sense, constantly learning ESLs, then your are in training and not making the mortgage. I post here about inequities I have found and hope they help. Surely, no Transcriptionist is going to go my opinion alone, but if I am not making money and someone asks and I have been there I will try to give them something to ponder. Being on the ground floor of a company or account has its advantages and surely you know that. Thank you for reading my post.
Any current info on Med-Scribe? They're hiring and all I can find on here is from 2004. Thx!

Who are you to say something like that? Maybe you're Webmedx mgmt lurking, another thing that mak
Work is very, very low at Webmedx and there should not be a reason for it.
they cant "make you work certain hours" but they can find someone that is willing to work them
If not, they dont have to hire you as IC or anything for that matter. So yes it is perfectly legal.

If she hires you as an IC and it doesn't state in your contract when she needs that particular IC coverage and she then dictates what hours you work, she cannot do that.

But she can refuse to hire you if you don't provide the coverage that she is looking for.

Scheduled? OMG. That is so sad!
/
Yes, scheduled
It was my regular shift. I do PT Sun-Thu, 2nd. I do a combination of VR/regular. Had no problems today, thank goodness
If you are a very scheduled person sm
and are good at staying on task, etc., then I would advise you to go for it!  I am horrible at keeping  a good schedule - but I do have a second job and when I have 2 I find I actually work better because I know I have to knuckle down and get it done or else.  Best of luck to you if you decide to take it on!
I mean that if you are scheduled for a day, you cannot just take off and make it up at the end of t
They expect you to follow your schedule and if you are on a flexible account, they expect you to get the volume that you commit to. This is any job, not just transcription. They have all employees; if someone needs to be able to work only when they can without a schedule, then KS is definitely not the place for them. That is more of an IC position. If you are an ortho or clinic MT, a lot of the accounts have 24-hour TAT and can be flexible, so it is all in what you are looking for and each account is different.
Huh? It's scheduled for June 2. nm

Were you scheduled to work?

I know sometimes when I'm not scheduled to work but have to make up hours or lines, I don't get work when I log on.

I was slow yesterday but had work. (It was my scheduled weekend, for those who think I'm trying to steal work.)

not picky about punching in right when you are scheduled,
just so you get your work done.  Also, remember the time clock and punching in out keeps track of your lines per hour which the more lines per hour the more you are paid.  Its not bad at all!!!
Superior does on your scheduled days off.
Great company to work for!!
I'm scheduled to start soon, now I'm worried.
Somehow I'd gotten the idea they had improved their ways of treating people over the last year or so. I'm beginning to wonder if Focus is even worth trying out.
If you are working a scheduled shift, you are an

If you are not scheduled to work the holiday, then

you shouldn't unless the call goes out for extra help.

If you jump on when you're not scheduled to work and you have all your hours and lines, you're just taking away from those that are scheduled to work. Don't be greedy.

If the holiday is your scheduled day to work....
then you work, unless you have pre-scheduled the time off. There is a holiday line bonus added onto lines worked on the holiday.
I was scheduled to work Christmas this year for TT as well....sm
But on Monday my DD went in for emergency surgery. I did not even come home for the first 2 days and only made 1 call to the office to explain early in the week. My DD was finally discharged on Christmas only to return to the ER last night. Do you know what TT's answer was with my 1 measly phone call and one abbreviated email I had time for to them? Family comes first - PERIOD. So, I am on trying to help out today if they need me and I will be GLAD to suffer thru some low work time and stare at a blank screen for a company who has those kinds of values. I VERYMUCH appreciate my job with TT and all that they stand for...
The sun'll come out tomorrow - saw in my bank that it's scheduled to go through then. (nm)

Sorry, I work 15 hours a day 5 days a week and 5 hours the other 2, when I come here I dont proof.

Do the MQ firm scheduled start immediately or in January? nm

For people with other things scheduled in a busy life
That does not work.
Lanier accounts have specific scheduled times.

Once again OT offered - no work for my scheduled shift at Wbmdx. sm
I think OT is great, took advantage of some Friday myself, but for goodness sake, don't just go off for the weekend leaving OT offered when the counts are WAAAY down.  Can the Solution Center take OT off or do they have to wait for supervisors/etc. to do so.  When someone comes on for OT and they give them blocks of 10, doesn't take long to run the rest of us totally out of our shift.  Love everything else about this company, but..... this sucks.
Why would they give you a choice of 16 or 24 hours. Usually part time is anything under 37 hours.

That is extremely odd. Well they must have something up their sleeves. Well I will be working elsewhere part time as well as with MQ as I have no intention of sitting 40 hours with no work from Amherst and be expected to have 150 lph with no work. What is all this window of work time they said they would be giving everyone. I figured all along they would do away with SE. I have already been looking around and ordered a new computer  to send theirs back.
