I'm sorry - 1.10 per radiology is not acceptable. sm

Actually - in radiology the reports run very short AND very long - per line is the only fair way that balances out daily no matter what you get, a mix vs all short vs all lone reports. per report does not - you have good days and bad and then the week stinks.

I do not think $14 is acceptable--no. She has not
done QA. I know many who cannot make $10 doing line rate QA but I have never done it. I know that most QA do an average of between 2500 and 3500 a day so line rate would not pay a ton of money per hour. Most QA I know do 100% QA though.

I wouldn't work for $14 but she said she was breaking in and it sure beats that 1.5 cents that one co was paying, which NO ONE SHOULD ACCEPT
if SE is acceptable, try MDI.

This is not acceptable to me
That you must check and double check to make sure your lines aren't obliterated by an intentional or unintentional computer glitch. That takes time you could better spend producing reports. I don't trust these big nationals and will find other work before I submit.
What is an acceptable pay for IC work?

I have been thinking about doing some IC on the side, but can't believe what these companies are offering.  There are all offering less per line than my employee job, which offers benefits, PTO, and holds out my taxes.  I am thinking a good IC position for acute care should at least offer 10 to 11 cpl, right? or am i just dreaming?

Line rate is not acceptable
but 14 an hour is acceptable? I've got news for you, at a line rate you'd likely make more than 14 an hour. What a joke. :(
TransTech is Satellite acceptable? nm

definition of decent: Acceptable standards
making $50,000 a year as an MT is beyond decent, it is really great, but realistically a decent living would be less, which is what the poster asked, as the definition of decent is to have acceptable standards.
Oops...meant to say "not acceptable"
:}
yes, but obviously if she thought 500-odd lines was acceptable in the beginning there was a problem
x
No, wrong again, it is in modern times perfectly acceptable to
start a sentence with 'But' and even with 'And,' especially when putting emphasis on a statement.
so, keeping in mind that decent means acceptable standard,

Keystrokes has the best radiology accounts IMO. I have plenty of work and radiology only. nm
I make a good living and rarely run out of work. When I do, it is for a few minutes at a time and usually because the rads have not started early enough. No other complaints!
Keystrokes for radiology. They are the biggest for radiology out of all of the companies out there.
I have been there 2 years and have been very happy. I make a lot more money than when I worked for Edix/Spheris.
Keystrokes has a radiology division. They used to be radiology only but their sm
customers started referring other departments to them.

I know that they just got a bunch of new accounts!
For radiology, Keystrokes is the way to go. They seem to have the most radiology accounts. sm
I have been very, very busy since starting with them 19 months ago. No complaints at all other than one or two of the radiologists who speak at the speed of light and expect us to be able to transcribe what sounds to be a mouse on a treadmill!
If radiology is going to VR, why are there so many job openings for radiology MTs? nm

Ascend Radiology & MDI Radiology?
Is anyone currently working on or know anything about Ascend radiology or MDI radiology accounts?  What platforms do they use?  Do they have a lot of ESLs or crappy dictators?  Thanks in advance
Radiology.
I don't know about that particular company, but $1.25 per report is average - I'm paid $1.25 for all reports other than CTs and MRIs, which pay $2.25 per report...
mdi radiology
Weekends and Fridays are always short-staffed..but you will account hop like crazy...expect it, and you may or may not have enough to keep you busy. It's the slow time of year right now. Hope all goes well, but don't expect much.
MDI-FL RADIOLOGY - sm
MDI-FL advertizing for radiology positions  - what a farce. We sit here and wait for work every day with not enough to go around.  What will new employees type????? I'm absolutely dumbfounded over those ads...can't believe it.  Come join us and babysit your PC ...just like they do at Transcend!!!
Radiology
Can you type on all the platforms?  If so, then, by all means contact me at deb.hull@medicaldictation.com or contact the supervisor of radiology and discuss with her.  Otherwise, ads are not placed if we have people who can type them.  Sorry if you were confused on this issue.  The object is to STAFF accounts, not over-staff.  I hope this helps to clarify.
Do they have Radiology?

MDI-FL Radiology
I quit a job I loved because I was promised the dream job I have been waiting for - Radiology. We all know how hard it is to get. Well, that was supposed to be my primary at T-C Transcription. Turns out as soon as I sign the papers, everything is out the window. I got five accounts. My primary, radiology, well, by the time I sign on the chick that transcribes this account has it all done. They give me VA and four other hospital accounts. The info on the accounts is like 18 pages long. They make you do a monthly schedule that you have to email, and other BS stuff that is a pain in the ass. They also have a private email account that you are supposed to access every 15-minutes. Hello?? Who does that? Well, if you don't you have to sign back in. The job I left was gold compared to this junk place. I got my job back with the job I left, and have never been happier. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Learned the hard way.
Radiology
I work on a new radiology account for them. Not sure when that ad was posted for hiring, but I have been with them for over a year and just started this account a month or so ago.
now for radiology
now what about radiology?  Are there any companies out there that will take someone who is a newbie at radiology?
radiology
can anyone please tell me about radiology?  do any companies hire and train newbies?  thanks
radiology
i could be wrong, but i dont believe there are companies that would hire a newbie for radiology. most are short reports, but radiology goes into deeper anatomy and physiology. it would be best to get familiar with h/p, consults, and discharges first. good luck
radiology

You would probably be better off trying to get some experience on the job in a hospital (more variety) to start.  I type radiology and thats my advice.  Good luck in your job search.  Also, I am spreading the word, if offered a job from D&L Typing Service, trust me DO NOT accept.  Horrible company.

some radiology - sm
mixed in with other clinic work, but not a lot of radiology.
Radiology

What company is best for a radiology transcriptionist? Might be looking for a change. Thanks!

I would have to say for radiology, KS is best. nm

I think they are the best out there for radiology. I have been there sm
for almost two years (wow! I did not realize it has been that long). There were problems a while back that seem to be straightened out. I never had any of the problems affect me but I from I heard it was really due to growth and changes. It is very stable now. Direct deposit -- yes. Paid -- 1st and 16th. Benefits -- Health insurance (you pay), life insurance, 401k. Plenty of radilogy work but not very flexible because of tight turnaround times. One thing if you are looking for flexible, I know they are hiring a few floaters right now for vacations, sick days, heavy volume days, etc. In the hospital I used to work, they were call per diem. KS is calling them floaters.
They were looking for a radiology MT
awhile back. Check with the HR manager.
Radiology

They overhire and then BS you to death.  Find something else!

Would you consider radiology...sm

I used to do mainly ops using a C-phone.  Switched to radiology, love it.  E-mail me if interested.

Radiology, of course! nm

Radiology, for sure!!!

Love the fast pace

I think that they only do radiology but that's all I know. nm
xx
Radiology pay
Thanks for anyone's input!  I actually did ten test reports for the one company and figured out the pay both ways, 9 cents a gross line versus $1.25 per report, and the line count method beat the per report method for every report.
Do you do Radiology for them?
If so, how is it?
Asking too much?? Where can I go for radiology,sm

Looking for places to apply to that will hire as employee for radiology using dial-up. Mostly afternoon/evening work. Also less than 20 hrs/week, and provide equipment. Does such a creature exist?

Thanks for your input.

Radiology
Are there any good companies that pay per report for radiology.  I have 23 years experience.
radiology
Thanks Granny for the feedback!!!!!!
radiology

Thanks RadMT for the feedback

radiology
Most pay by the line but a few by the report:
Transolutions, TransHealth, WebMedx, Medquist

If you are interested in a radiology account, please send a resume.
radiology pay - sm
You will have a hard time finding anything better, even as IC.  If this is employee with benes, go for it.
radiology
Could you please tellme who you work for.  I have been searching for someone with better pay.  it seems like a struggle at times.  Thank you in advance!
Radiology pay
The last radiology account that I worked paid $1.25 per line with incentives which went up to $1.60 per report.  It was hard to get the incentive, though, if you had specials and long dictations.  Those who got the chests, extremities, etc. did quite well.  $1.10 per report sounds really low to me - but that may be the norm.  I did my last rad account less than a year ago, though.
OSI radiology - sm
I haven't worked there for over a year now, so things MAY have changed, though I doubt it. I had to learn multiple accounts (others I knew working there had only one or maybe two accounts, and were out of work frequently). By knowing so many accounts, I had work, but could never get a good line count as I was always checking account specifics, and the VA accounts were horrible. The others were clinic-type accounts that dictated late, so you would want a shift that started late morning/early afternoon and work into the evening to have any decent amount of work. The system was okay, but the people at OSi were very inconsistent, unprofessional, and not trustworthy. Please consider your decision carefully for this company.
Do you know if Radiology
slow or no work by any chance?

Thank you in advance.
