So far, so good! I've been with them only a short while, but
I'm very pleased so far.  Steady work, low to average DSL's, paid right on time, fantastic platform.  Negatives are that the do offshore to Phillipines (but haven't seen any impact on work load or type of work that I get) and paid only for characters and headers - no spaces.  Even with the no spaces, the wonderful platform makes up for it.  So far, it's great but I worked for a company in the past that yanked the rug out after a few months.  So far, no indication of that at Cymed though.  Good luck in whatever choice you make though.
I'm about 300 lines short daily. I've had some
dictators that were absolutely horrendous and the my reports come back from QA with blanks too, but then I have some really good dictators.   The changes are driving me crazy.   I wish they could explain things one time in a way that the MTs could understand.  I'm sure there are more changes to come, though they have had at least part of the account for a long time so I don't understand all the changes now.
I've not been short on work at all. Plenty so far (knock on wood) lol. nm

Have been with them a short time
I have been with them for about 3 weeks.  QA is very nice.  My account is very decent.  I can work whenever I feel like it as long as I put in my lines.  Bayscribe is a very easy and simple software to get used to.  Pay is excellent.  Overall, I'm pretty happy so far.
No, and if it goes down, it is for very short time.

I worked for them a short time ago.. sm
I found them to be a very good company, very fair and very honest. I had no problems with getting my check at all. I did not stay with them long, however it had nothing to do with the company, it was for personal reasons. I would work for them again. Good luck.
Yes. Quite a while ago and for a very short period of time.

Just wasn't a good fit and didn't feel good to me.  The pay was on time.  Platform was shoe-string transfers via e-mail but that could be different now.

I worked there a short time
and EVERYBODY I ever dealt with was pleasant & professional.  Very, very nice company. I ended up leaving because I had trouble with my DSL and kept losing jobs, but it was a great company. I loved being able to review other chart notes on the patients, very helpful. Good luck to you there!
I filled in for a short time . . sm
I worked for them about 3 years ago. They have a WP platform I believe. I thought it was a little fiddly, but not bad. Lots of OPs, big hospitals. They didn't bug me, just let me work. It's easy to make the lines if you're experienced. They really know what they are doing. If I needed the work, I would go back to them without hesitation.
I worked for them for a short time.
Very, very fussy in QA, but other than that was a decent place to work.
What do you need to know? I worked there for a short time
Not my favorite company -- not because of software, but QA issues. No two QA said the same thing. It was a losing battle. I am much happier since I left that place. AMEN!
Worked there for a short time
I had no issues. I was never threatened. They will ask for help if MTs are not working/meeting quotas and as an AM myself, it seems there are more MTs who don't care than do.
The choice is for a short time @ all SM
companies.  As more and more accounts and job types are run through VR, the straight typist will find herself without work at times.  When they tell someone they have no work, they will be told that if they would do VR they would have plenty of work.  That's how it goes.  Company will tell the MTs it's a choice, but even they know that eventually it will be forced upon everyone if they want to have steady work.
I worked there for a very short time
...just long enough to figure out there was no way to make any money...especially on the Emdat Inscribe platform they use.  The people there are very nice though but that doesn't pay the bills!
Great little company..I worked there for a short time, IC, and pay always on time, great owner too!
I had good dictators, they use FTP, and I had a 12-hour window to return the work.
There are times when someone is with a company a very short time but they are obviously sm
management material, especially if they have been management somewhere else in the past. I have never had anyone as a manager and am looking into that but it is difficult to figure out what and how to pay this person, what their duties will be and what kind of hours I need help during. I have had 15 of the same MTs for over 5 years and while they are all good MTs, they either do not want to be or would not make good managers, but someone I hired just 3 weeks ago is someone I am considering based on her experience and what she has proven to me in this short time.

In other industries, it is called the Fast Track to Management or Climbing the Corporate Ladder Quickly. Why should MT be any different?
Worked there for a very short time. Glad to be gone.

also worked there just a short time last year .. nm

I so agree. Worked w/them for short time sm
and one of the worst experiences of my career.  Too many things to list.  Horrid.
I worked for them for a short time and found the
platform very cumbersome. It was the worst platform I have ever worked with. The people were nice, a little flaky, but nice. Communication could have been better. Pay was on time and direct deposit.
Just a matter of time - the Indians know they are being short-changed. nm

I worked there for a short time. Wonderful company.
I went and got my own clients, so I couldn't do both. Pay was adequate and on time by direct deposit. I had a teaching hospital, good account, some difficult ESL, some not so difficult. Bayscribe platform is okay, had to get used to it. I personally was not fond of it, but to each their own.

The long distance phone service was not an issue. I used the Verizon unlimited LD and regional plan $49.99 per month.

All-in-all, my experience was good while there. Every company has their ups and downs. It all depends on what your individual needs are and how far out of your comfort zone you want to go.

Good luck!

I worked for TSLLC for a short time last year
They pay hourly for editing voice recognition reports. Back then, very few of the reports were very good quality, most of them had to be pretty much retyped. The software might have learned some of those by now though, not sure as I didn't stay to find out. One thing I was told AFTER I started working there was that your hourly rate will most likely go down. During the first 3 months, you get paid the hourly rate you agreed upon and then they start charting how long you're actually playing the voice file and that's what you get paid for. In other words, every time you stop the voice to make corrections, you're not getting paid. They also constantly sent emails with stupid mistakes that other MTs/editors were making and I just got annoyed and quit. But all in all, it was actually a good company and I always got paid on time, and if I remember correctly, it was weekly. I would just recommend asking for a higher hourly rate to begin with or making sure it won't go down later, put something in the contract or something. Hope this helps and wasn't too confusing :)
She was talking abt not meeting standards in a short time - sm
like a week. Doesn't sound like she was good enough to keep around for longer.
The grass, in my opinion, is definitely not greener. I left QT and a short time later, sm
I came back and was never happier that I did. I should never have left in the first place. I think QT is, by far, one of the most flexible, good-paying, understanding company to work for. I actually enjoy when it is a little slow and volunteer to have a day off. I love to have a day to myself every once and a while.

In regard to the person who waits 30 minutes for work, just call again. Sometimes, the office people get side tracked and then might forget that they didn't get work routed. L told me once, if I didn't have work in 10 minutes, call again. Usually, if this happens to me, the person says something line, Oh, I got busy and totally forgot, I'm sorry, I'll do it right away. Sorry about the long post, I just happen to think that QT is the best company out there! ;)
I worked a short time, El Centro & Salinas acct.
It took 3 1/2 solid days for the install (for free) System not too stable, had to contact tech support constantly. QA was from overseas, some inhouse. The account were also sent there after a certain time of day, 5pm I think it was. The particular account I worked on was really difficult lot of accents (account near Mexico border) A lot of slurring and speedy ones, they did not seem to care how they dictated. I am familiar with ESL too. I did not enjoy the experience.

I think someone on the Main Board had this problem a short time ago. Maybe a search there will show
s
Was there a short time last year. You work as an employee, not IC. Different software/diff. accts.
s
I personally can't sit for 4 hours at a time. I work 2 hous, sign off and take a short break.

It might just be fixing something to drink or starting a load of laundry.  If you did something like that then you wouldn't have to worry about a disconnect and possibly losing a report.

I've been there quite a while, pay on time, growth spurt right now, so good time to get on board,
new accounts and lots of work, and before someone says it, I'm not management, just an employee.
This is the first time I've seen a co SM
have to communicate with their own employees on someone else's FREE message board.  Big turnoff.
I'm the OP..again, I've always been paid on time
I'm wondering about these several accounts going with speech recognition (many accounts that I have worked on), and what that will mean for us in the long-term.
Then they've wasted their time
There are a lot of things that could be going on, both innocent, stupid, and sneaky. They could be mining resumes to pad their employee list and make it appear as if they do have US employees. They could be stupid enough to waste time posting on a US board for a position in Pakistan. Or they could have innocently somehow missed putting in a location for a US transcriptionist.

Ignore it or wait and see if they clarify the position in the future.
Definitely harder and I've given it a lot of time. I'm thinking about

I've worked for MDI-MD very part time for many yrs
No, I've never gotten a Christmas bonus.  But they still are hands down the best company I have ever worked for and their gift to me is being a company that pays well every day.  I'd rather have that than a company that pays me 8 cpl and sends me a $50 Christmas gift.  The only reason I work for them very part time is that I have my own accounts in addition to working for MDI.  Someday when I'm older and more tired, I will give up my own accounts and work for MDI alone.
The only time I've seen this, it was a brand new account sm
The whole team had to go on QA and be released one by one. It was time-consuming but I guess the client had demanded it.
I've even run different platforms at the same time with no problems.
You shouldn't have any problems at all!
Once you've peeved QA, is it time to quit?
I started a new job and, as something of a side note, it turned out to be a bait and switch where after the first week, they don't actually have the work I was hired for, and instead put me on a different secondary account. QA, being QA, was having their little version of fun and I was getting contradictory corrections on various reports, which I just let slide, let them play..put in their semicolons, split their infinitives, have unmatched noun/verb number. However, I got a couple back where they changed what I typed in a big way that actually made it a critical medical difference, and those I took to the supervisor (pt came was given dopamine and pressor support in the ICU to maintain BP because of her HYPOtension, but QA changed it to HYPERtension several places in the ICU course....duh!).

Anyway, since then, there's something of a vendetta against me in QA. I dropped the word on (the patient was put the operating table) and they tagged it a critical error and docked it 2 percentage points. If I take a sentence 4 lines long and split it up, they dock me. If I number a list (meds, dxs, etc) without the dictator specifically saying it, I'm docked. If I don't number the list, I'm docked. If I put the diagnoses in a list, I'm docked. If I leave the diagnoses in a paragraph, I'm docked.

I've asked the QA supervisor for specific guidelines as to how they assign error scores (sorry, my dropping 'on', while a mistake, I don't think falls into the critical error as it does not change the medical integrity of the report). I still have not heard back from the QA supe as to how they qualify the errors.

Since I'm pretty sure that this place, like any other place, is going to circle the wagons when a new interloper dares question their methods, is it time to throw in the towel? The work is okay...it's not the easy breezy stuff that I signed up for, but it's not really hard. Would you just say scrooge this, I can be abused anywhere or would you stick around just to avoid the job-hopping?

PS: This is a second job....almost amusingly, I'm part of QA at my other one.
I've no experience of a time clock either.
I think perhaps they mean the requirement to be assigned a set shift and stick to it.

But there's nothing remotely resembling a time clock... we just sign onto our platform and dive right in.

As an ex-TRS employee I still have the instant messenger, and I do sign into that when I'm working, but it's not a requirement; it's more of a courtesy to our co-workers, so we know who's around, especially if we need to ask a question.

My first day on the job at TRS I instant-messaged my supervisor and said do I have to sign in or let somebody know I'm here, and she said no, just log onto the platform and start working.

Of course, if they really want to track our logged-in time, the platform can keep track of all that.

But again... no, there's no time clock per se, nothing even close.
I'm surprised he is still around. I've heard he's had a rough time
could just be rumors. I heard someone was trying to buy/force him out.
i've worked for MQ for a long time and never got a raise
nm
Um, I specifcally said I've been there long time so wasn't sure about sm
the starting PTO; wasn't trying to pretty anything up. As for BCBS and dental - personally where I live, it is a great plan. I'll stick to my guns on that. As for the lower deductible last year, did you not join the BCBS health calls to discuss WHY that happened?
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work.  I do MT and QA.
Nope...MDI-MD for a long time as well and I have a schedule I have to follow! You've got it made

They've all said Woburn, Mass when I asked...same time zone as me grrrr! nm

I've been very happy at DSG -- pay always on time, decent incentive package, sound quality probab

depends on account, mine has been fine most of the time.

I've been there for years, work on the DSG1 side of things, pay on time, direct deposit, more
feedback lately.  I have always found the staff and MTs helpful and friendly.  Work does fluctuate, but if you have a few accounts, should keep you busy, also sound quality can be an issue but mostly okay.
Great company. I've been recommending this company for a long time.
x
how short were you?
1000 lines or something? That would just be wrong. Call your supervisor and find out for sure.
TT pay short
Anybody check on direct deposit yet?  Mine is nearly $100 less than expected, as if my bonus lines didn't get counted.  We have a new in-house payroll team.  Gee, I hate breaking in new pay people!  Maybe I overlooked something, though.  Will talk with them Monday.
What good does it do? They've lied, they've betrayed us.

They've taken all they are going to take from me.   I am not going to waste any more time being angry.   I hate the way things ended, but I refuse to accept the blame for any part of it because I know that was a lie too, even though they did try to blame the MTs.  I know part of the problem was quality issues, but QA wasn't to blame for that either, although they have been.

It is time to pick up and move on.   I think mgmt will reap what they sow.   For those who worked on the main account Webmedx is still hiring, though the best time slots have already been taken.
