So far, so good! I've been with them only a short while, but

I'm very pleased so far.  Steady work, low to average DSL's, paid right on time, fantastic platform.  Negatives are that the do offshore to Phillipines (but haven't seen any impact on work load or type of work that I get) and paid only for characters and headers - no spaces.  Even with the no spaces, the wonderful platform makes up for it.  So far, it's great but I worked for a company in the past that yanked the rug out after a few months.  So far, no indication of that at Cymed though.  Good luck in whatever choice you make though.

I've been with them a short time.....sm
and am very happy. Nice folks, good accounts and good pay.
I'm about 300 lines short daily. I've had some
dictators that were absolutely horrendous and the my reports come back from QA with blanks too, but then I have some really good dictators.   The changes are driving me crazy.   I wish they could explain things one time in a way that the MTs could understand.  I'm sure there are more changes to come, though they have had at least part of the account for a long time so I don't understand all the changes now.
I've not been short on work at all. Plenty so far (knock on wood) lol. nm
xx
Not sure exactly. We all have many backups now and short of work so we wont do you much good up
there. Are a lot of MTs leaving because of this lack of work. How do you do with those quality checks being shifted around on accounts all the time. Dont you have that QA plan up there. Well, I will have to find who to complain to if this happens because I do complain about things like that.
You sold yourself short then. There ARE good compoanies out there with consistent work. sm
I work for one that is praised on this board and attacked on this board, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

The money and consistency are there for those who work hard.

My apologies for lumping you in with others.
What good does it do? They've lied, they've betrayed us.

They've taken all they are going to take from me.   I am not going to waste any more time being angry.   I hate the way things ended, but I refuse to accept the blame for any part of it because I know that was a lie too, even though they did try to blame the MTs.  I know part of the problem was quality issues, but QA wasn't to blame for that either, although they have been.

It is time to pick up and move on.   I think mgmt will reap what they sow.   For those who worked on the main account Webmedx is still hiring, though the best time slots have already been taken.

Short cuts go a long way with ortho. A good speed typing engine will

I've been an MT for 28 and it has been good
teach one of our daughters, 21 years old, who doesn't know what she wants to do, MT.  I told him no way.  For one, she can make a lot more money as a waitress/bartender than she would be able to make typing the same hours, especially when first starting.  And the future doesn't look so bright for MT, so I'd rather she just decide on something, get a degree, and go with that and not get sidetracked by MT like I did.  I can't say I haven't made a lot of money with MT (own accounts for many years now), but if I hadn't had that, I probably would have gone back to school and finished my degree.
Mostly Indians. I've never seen anything good

posted above them.

I've never been good at doing the math... SM
Thanks for doing it for me.  The definitely is way too low.
I've seen mostly good things on here...
I just signed on with them and am excited to get started.  :D
I've never worked for such a good company
I was contacted immediately after I tested. I wanted part-time work at night to try them out, so I worked 20 hours a week for them. After a month, I quit my other full-time job and went with them full-time. I've never seen such a fast platform. The benefits are incredible compared to other companies and the work is excellent. Good communication and accessability with co-workers and supervisors. Extra bonuses for what we had to do normally at other jobs. Direct deposit. company contributions to 401K. Earn vacation money from your first day on the job, and you don't lose it when/if you leave. I'm extremely happy with them.
i've heard nothing good about transolutions
x
Either would be a good choice. I've worked for both.
In the archives, both companies have good and bad comments.  You have to weigh one against the other and whether you think someone is just disgruntled or not.  Both are better than MQ or Sph.
I've heard good things about both...sm
but which one pays better?  I'm curious to know too as I thought about applying for eMTS.  Let us know.  TIA
I've been there for 3 years - yes, good company
xx
Pretty good from what I've heard...
A friend of mine works for them. Said they are strict on accuracy and line counts but are also somewhat flexible in schedule.
I've head a lot of good things...sm
About Axolotl. Do you happen to have any info. on which specialties they are hiring for? I haven't seen any job ads for them.

I also heard something about them not paying for spaces. Can you comment on that?

Thank you!
I've heard good things about MDI.
Sorry, I'm not part time so that's all I can offer. Felt I should write something as poster below didn't seem to realize this company board is for asking and discussing companies.
I've been there a few years. I think it's a good company.
Although I feel that ALL MT pay is far too low, Acusis pays better than most. Several accounts are teaching hospitals, some regular hospitals, and some clinics. Most of the time they have plenty of work, except right after the Holidays.

I find the management to be VERY nice to work with - a welcome change from my old situation, which was horrible. Excellent techs, too. The SoftScript platform they use works well. Sound quality is good. If you email a supervisor or other person there, I've found they respond in a timely manner.

The pay varies based on the account; more for harder ones, less for easy ones. They ask for feedback from MTs, and are appreciative to get it.

Anyway, judging by what I read on this board about other companies, I think one reason you don't hear much about Acusis is that most people that work for them are happy with them.
Good question - I've always wondered that myself.
I don't think the companies want us to know how work is assigned, though.
TransHealth...I've read lots of good and bad SM

about them, but am going to start with a very open mind.  I am looking forward to it.

Chickadee

Any good info on MDI-FL. Do they have IC status? I've been searching for sm

the past 15 minutes and have found nothing!! I read somewhere someone said you have to have tough skin to work for MDI-FL.  I wonder what this means! :)

Thanks to anyone with any info on this company. Trying to leave MQ and make some decisions here.  Help out a fellow MT.  Love ya.  LOL

I've always heard if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. n/m

Do you mean Axolotl? If so, I've heard many good things about them. nm
nm
I've had a lot of bad ones...finally found one that's pretty good sm
It is a struggle though!! I have worked for several that stunk up the place!! LOL Been cheated on line counts, etc. My best advice is to see if there are any companies near you, smaller, home-based MTSOs who have fewer employees. A way where you can actually get to know your employer. I found one not far from my house who advertised on Craigslist and she has been pretty good to work with.
You'll get over the good feelings. I've been here over a year now. (sm)
And if you had seen the subtle changes they have been making, you may agree they are moving in the direction of becoming the new MQ (pre sale to India).
TSSC is really good. I've worked for other nationals and haven't been let down by them. nm

Bet no good QA now - they've chased them away by bouncing checks and lying.
:-(
I've heard good and bad, just want facts from the horses mouth.

I have also heard great things about this company, only recently have I heard bad things.  If they post on this message board they supposedly do not offshore work. The moderator would definitely have something to say about that, don't you think?

Does that make sense to you?

I've been looking for years. It's always a mix anymore. Good stuff gets kept in house. nm
s
I've been there a couple of years and it has been a good fit for me, very flexible with my schedu
as long as production is being met.  We are definitely a growing company and sounds like you have the experience that we need.  Paychecks have been always on time for me, direct deposit.
RE: I've been with Transform for 2 months and so far, so good. Nice people to work with, (sm)
pay is on time, direct deposit, etc.
Good for you. I've gained 10 pounds since high school graduation in 1976.

I've been there quite a while, pay on time, growth spurt right now, so good time to get on board,
new accounts and lots of work, and before someone says it, I'm not management, just an employee.
how short were you?
1000 lines or something? That would just be wrong. Call your supervisor and find out for sure.
TT pay short
Anybody check on direct deposit yet?  Mine is nearly $100 less than expected, as if my bonus lines didn't get counted.  We have a new in-house payroll team.  Gee, I hate breaking in new pay people!  Maybe I overlooked something, though.  Will talk with them Monday.
What the heck? I've never heard that in the 8 yrs I've worked here. sm
Go back to your STM or over his or her head.
short and sweet is the way to go (sm)
I would not offer a lot of details.  People leave jobs all the time, they are used to it.  Be professional and polite.  Keep it simple is my advice.
there is a short cut program in DQS which
I think is perfectly adequate. I guess others supplement it, but I don't see the need personally.
no short timer here

I've been with the company going on two years.  The problems that were mentioned do come up.  I see those nice American names but sure don't ever get their dictations.  I've heard that if QA likes you, you will get the cream of the crop and never hear a word.  But if you're not in the clique that QA approves of you spend your days knee deep in ESL!

QA is nice when you first start, they give you feed back and are helpful.  But they have recently said that we need to do our own jobs and not depend on them ... I always thought figuring out the tough blanks was what they get paid for?

As far as the the managers they don't seem all that knowledgeable or accessible.  They put up a great front of we're a team and pat you on the your back while they assign you more crap.  I'm not sure most of them aren't anything more than clerks.

They do over-hire regularly and they don't hide that their work is overflow.  I think that these are reasons they have big turnaround in their MTs.  If you want their good benefits .... put up with the low line counts and learn a second language and join our team

Have been with them a short time
I have been with them for about 3 weeks.  QA is very nice.  My account is very decent.  I can work whenever I feel like it as long as I put in my lines.  Bayscribe is a very easy and simple software to get used to.  Pay is excellent.  Overall, I'm pretty happy so far.
No, and if it goes down, it is for very short time.
x
I worked for them for a short while.

Their method of transferring files was very frustrating, slow, archaic and clumsy.  Their record keeping is also pretty sloppy.  They are nice and absolutely pay on time.  There was never enough work in the account I was hired for and she kept putting me on other accounts on training wages.  I was up front about the lines I needed weekly and in which fields and she was in total agreement but it was rarely available and almost never in the field I was hired for.  I do not like sitting all day wondering if any work would be coming in so I had to move on....good luck!

I worked for them for a short while also
and never got docked for quality but I found the system very combursum (sp) and struggled to get lines in.
Short answers for you
Precyse - ok!

MD-IT - don't know!

OSI - no way!

DDT Arizona - no way!

TTS - no way!

Zylomed - don't know!
Very short list here & don't have any

Some companies that USED to pay by gross line: Lee Perfect - need Emdat experience; Lextel? - Calif. company, don't know if still around; Mediscript Transcription - work LD over a C-phone, don't know what state; QT - but they seem to be in trouble now; and West Tran Group - don't know the state, were using Word 2003 and IntraScript software. ...the end...

I sent you an email; but the short of it is - sm
They pay on time (checks, no DD); twice a month a week after invoice is submitted. Invoice dates are the 1st and 16th. Yes they are a good company/people; no spaces is true but they do not charge their clients either so it is not the case of the MTSO getting richer while you get poorer.
Training is very short
It really only takes a few minutes to learn the platforms. Once you are set up, your account lead will walk you through how to use the software. It is really very easy. You will be paid your regular rate the minute you start typing.
short but sweek

I did for short period of time a few months ago and it takes forever to get your first check and then the way you bill and they pay takes an extra couple of weeks for you to receive your check.

I worked for them for only 1 week a couple of months back and it took me over 2 months to finally get my lousy check from them.   I had to keep asking for it and kept getting the run around for days and days.   Totally ridiculous, IMO.  I would keep looking.

Here is my short list...
My first job was with HealthScribe as a newbie. They flew us to Virginia for training which meant you actually knew some of the people you worked with. It was a great experience for a new MT. The platform was very nice as you could view other reports, and any edits made to your reports were in a different color so there was no confusion as to who typed what. Benefits were good but pay was pretty low, which is probably standard for a newbie job. I left when my account went to India and my team was left with really bad accounts. Sold to Spheris now.

I then went to MedScribe. I had some concerns about reports in MT Stars archives of checks going missing, so I asked about it up front. I was told it never happens, but my first paycheck went missing. The checks do come eventually but you learn patience in that regard. I loved my ER account but always being pushed to do acute care with heavy ESL or overflow with horrible sound. My supervisor was very nice but had to contact the upper management for most decisions/issues, and hence nothing really ever got addressed. I did stay over 4 years because my next 2 job attempts didn't work out.

I applied and was hired by Transcend but left the job before training for sudden personal reasons. The recruiter was exceptionally understanding of my circumstances. The benefits and pay seemed pretty good for my experience, but I never did transcribe any accounts.

When I decided to go job hunting again, I was hired by Medquist in early December for holiday push. The equipment finally came middle of January, and I went through the training and started working on the platform. Work at that point was low, and I bounced around in 3 different accounts. My supervisor had lost her assistant and was nearly impossible to reach. Two weeks after I was hired, my supervisor left for a week for a company event. With no other contact in the company and no clue, I left too. The pay and benefits were okay but it seemed like I would have had a very, very long learning curve.

I am now with TransTech. I actually like the VR work better than traditional typing. I struggled with the platform in the beginning because there were a lot of issues being disconnected from the server which locked the program up, but that is 100% better now. The pay is good with the incentive, insurance is BCBS which is perfect for my state - no indemnity plan, and benefits are good. Management & QA are very nice and don't talk down to you. The downside is that I am struggling now with low work even working second shift.
