They were welcome. I never saw anything wrong with it. Just don't reply. You might make some new online friends.

Please add me to your list of emails!

I have not typed out my email address due to my email making it obvious of who I am to my current employer but would really appreciate it if you could click on my email link and send some information to me also!

Thank you for your help and your willingness to share information!

I've never received these types of emails...
I've seen a few where there is work on the system and asking if anyone wants to hop on and help out, they're welcome to, and once I received an email offering bonus pay for exceeding the line commitment over the weekend if I chose to.

I'm not saying your information is false, because it sounds as if you IC for MDI-MD, but perhaps we're on different MDI accounts with different leads? Would being on one of the acute care accounts versus the clinics make a difference in the email approach?

That's just really odd, the difference in approach taken to the accounts.
There is no list, but people talk and
the MT world is small.  If you leave like that and your MTSO knows other MTSOs, it's likely that your name will come up informally as someone who does that kind of thing.
Here's a list I've compiled. Please feel free to add to it! nm

Amphion, Charts In Time (CIT), Focus, eTransPlus, some accts. at MedWare, possibly NEMT, Opti-Script (Penn.), OSI, Professional Transcriptions (Pensacola), Rapid, Superior Global, Transcriptions South (Fla.), Transcription Systems (Ill.), TransTech, and TTS. nm

Some people have a really long list of questions
It takes maybe 5 minutes to type a list of questions.  It might take an hour to answer them all.  We may not have time for all that.  Sometimes I have taken the time to answer a couple of questions, then the OP comes back demanding that I answer the rest or didn't answer thoroughly enough.  As someone said on another thread about people wanting advice on how to get into the business, our time is money, wanna pay a consultation fee?  Just keep in mind we can't always volunteer to help everyone, and we may not have the answer to all the questions anyhow.  I've noticed the threads with one simple question get the most answers - because its quick to answer one question vs 20.
I agree. And black list or no, intelligent people take information
.
Really sad where people will readily list places they hated but not name places that are great.
What a wonderful, sharing group of people MTs are. :-(
I've tried to tell people as well
transcribed by MTs that are not in any way educated enough to document correctly the happenings in our medical care, and the response I get is oh yes, that is happening everywhere even with customer service for most companies.  So you see?  Not many are really that worried about it..  It is a sad state of affairs.
That's what I've been thinking - people must be off.
nm
I've gone after people just as vigorously for only
Money owed is money owed. Doesn't matter if it's $10, $125, $5,000, or $50,000. If you do a service in exchange for payment, and you live up to your end of the bargain, if someone thinks they are so cunning that they can get around having to pay the money that is due, then they haven't met ME, yet! I went after a guy for $125 once, and I had the SHERIFF IN THE YARD, ready to allow me to take possession of their brand-new Ford F350 dually pickup truck that I had attached through Small Claims Court. Needless to say, rather than hand the officer the truck keys, they handed him $125.
U don't need to worry - half these people sound like they've got -
.
I've heard the pay isn't that great, nice people tho. NM
:
I've feel for the same thing and tired of dishonest people.
My favorite was when a recruiter would actually do all of her recruiting by pretending to be an MT. She went to great length singing the praises of her company, even though others were badmouthing the company. She was very convincing until I put two and two together. Actually, she wasn't too smart. She private emailed me from the board as the MT saying that she would contact her boss to recommend me.. Well, though and behold her boss and her both had the same email. Now, do I look like a moron or what. So, honestly, I rarely trust those cheerleaders on here and just take it with a grain of salt because you never know who your talking to.
RE: I've been with Transform for 2 months and so far, so good. Nice people to work with, (sm)
pay is on time, direct deposit, etc.
I've been following your story because I find it disgusting the these MTSOs stiff people
and get away with it. I find it awesome that you had the courage to stand up to her and send this notice to the hospital. Why shouldn't they know what liars and thieves they contract to. A lot of business out there that subcontract, especially hospitals, are even running background checks so they know how they are dealing with. I'd file a complaint with BBB, Department of Labor..anywhere I could to get her bad name out there and hopefully if she does try to solicit more business she won't be able to. Again, I applaud you!!!! Good work!!!!
How do you know list is true? I can make a list,
x
Yes, I have 2 emails you can use
to contact Keystrokes directly. They are BKeystrokes@aol.com and LKeystrokes@aol.com

Good luck to you. We can use another good MT! :)
I got 2 emails from them, both for different
positions. I never heard of them much less applied. I deleted the emails.
Well, when you get emails from the
and other gramatical errors, makes you wonder!!!!
Got those emails and also got
She said that I was not working and that I had better get on the system and work!  Yuk!  That stuff is hard to tolerate on your day off.  I have worked my schedule and certainly had my lines in for the pay period and still get this type of uncalled for email!
LOL would you like to see my emails?
/
too many emails??!!
i get an average of 3 a day.
Same here. Way too many emails. nm
nm
Emails
I don't have a problem with it. I don't care about talking with anyone else anyway. Had enough of that working in the hospital atmosphere. All it amounts to is a bunch of criticism and gossip. I love this. I work well independently and could care less about talking to anyone. It's like a breath of fresh air to me. Anything I need to say or get an answer for is and can be handled by emailing back and forth and so far it's worked fine with no problems whatsoever. There are always message boards you can talk to others on.
Not only did I get emails, but... sm
About4 weeks after I had left and already started with my new company, I got yet another email, but this one asked why I had not done my required lines for that pay period!! I answered that one, telling them that I had already left MQ and I doubt I would ever reach their required lines. Needless to say, that was the end of the emails :)
no emails
I think they must be glad I'm gone. LOL Haven't heard a word from them except a letter telling me someone will call me for an exit interview/survey.
TT emails
No problems overall for me. I was told to be sure to communicate with them always through TT official email because they don't read personal emails--they just delete them. Before I knew that, I had once emailed my supervisor about a family emergency via my personal email b/c I was out of town and didn't have access to my work PC. I didn't get in trouble b/c they are very understanding about family medical crises and always email back with wishes for speedy recovery for employee or sick family member.
Same Emails.
I know EXACTLY the company you are working for, based on the greeting on the email.  I am feeling pressure as well, and its getting to me. You're not alone.  I already work 7 days a week, so don't know how much more I can help, if ya know what I mean.
emails
I've gotten the emails on the weekends I have off sometimes that ask for everyone to come help, but if it's my scheduled day off and I have things going on I don't and no one has ever confronted me about it or asked me to explain myself. They just send out an email the next day that says thanks to everyone who pitched in yesterday. But you're right - keep the clients happy or the company may lose the account. That's true of all companies.
emails
I know what she was talking about with the emails saying to stretch and reminding people we have to make time sacrifices to keep the clients happy and keep our jobs. It just depends on what account you are on. Some accounts are low and there is no need to email the team and twist their arm a bit to work extra, but other accounts get backlogged, especially starting Friday afternoon and into the weekend, and those teams get the emails. It's not a matter of acute versus clinic, it's just which accounts get busy and backlogged.
I beg to differ about the emails sm
Not sure what you mean by "since certain people are gone now," but those goofy, slightly threatening emails have started up again. How many so far today, 5 perhaps? They have been toned down on the nastiness somewhat, but they look like they were written by an ESL: poor grammar, not spellchecked, improper use of the apostrophe - and this from an alleged long-time MT/QA (or at least that is my understanding)!

And, no, these goofy emails don't have a direct effect on my work, but I just find them annoying, heavy-handed, and unprofessional.

And speaking of ESL, I think you forgot to mention the extremely high volume of ESL involved in working at SS.

I'm seeing emails asking MTs to work OT.
Work is definitely available on quite a few accounts.
I have an applicant who has sent me I do not know how many emails

and inside the email has not put a resume, just a blurb about themself (which is impressive), no phone number, and when I try to reply, the email bounces back saying that it is not a valid email.  It matches the name of the applicant, but IF you are a job applicant who has not received a response to your email, please be sure you are including the correct information.  I can tell you that the email carrier is sbgclobal.net

I will not name any names or initials, but if you have applied at any companies and received no response, this could be the reason why.

Thanks.

I have gotten some emails from the posts below

from some very professional MTs telling me they were embarrassed regarding some of the responses from their fellow MTs.  Thank you.  I wanted to let you know that it is appreciated.

On another note, the recruiter calling herself Hiring Manager is not me and I want to let you know that some of what she says may be true regarding resumes, etc. as we all get those, BUT I do not agree with the way she presented herself.  I also do not agree with the fact that she is addressing the readers as honey.  That to me is rather condescending and I do not treat any of the people who apply with me in a condescending tone.  I have written them to request additional information because the newer MTs are learning.  None of us in this MT world, recruiters included are not perfect.  The whole entire field on a day-to-day basis is a learning experience.

The other recruiter says she only works 8:30 to 4:30 M-F.  Well, good for her, but I wonder if she is on the west coast.  That might work if she is a west coast recruiter, but east coast recruiters have to expand our day to accommodate those on the west coast.  I know my days go late for those who work outside their homes and live on the west coast.  They have to come home, have dinner and then they have time to do a phone interview.

The other recruiter said some true things, but I do believe she presented them as a gripe...and I guess we as recruiters have those days, but it should have been presented as a pointer if they wanted to help someone.

I personally have devised a way to do a resume that works if anyone needs any tips. Most of you who have done this long enough know.

For the woman who has no resume, that is a requirement.  Through the years I ran into one lady without a resume and she never could seem to put one together and she was a qualified applicant, but that is something we need.  If you only had a few jobs, you would not have had to put together much.  When you apply for a job, expect to get a resume.  If you have been fortunate to have jobs come to you, that is good.  I have had that happen too so I do know the reasons why a resume would not be needed, but be prepared in case it is because it can cost you a job if you don't have one.

About the cutesy email addresses, I am with the other recruiter on that one.  It totally can take away from a good resume.  It will not keep you from being hired, but sometimes I felt kind of silling addressing someone's email address that was one of those cutesy ones.  We have the tools in place to have email addresses, utilize them.  We do not care if you are a scout leader, mother of 4 lovely children, etc.  We care that you are an MT or QA and are a pro.  Know when to use that cutesy email address.

OK.  I did not mean to put the other recruiter down.  I can imagine that she had a trying day yesterday receiving all of which all us recruiters receive.  It's a multiple choice out there as far as jobs and I think we all receive the same resumes.

I just wanted to thank those who were thoughtful enough to let me know privately that they did not condone some of the unprofessional remarks made by the MTs.  The same goes for recruiters. I do not like to see an MT put down with a name like honey.  That bothered me and I noticed in more than one post by the recruiter.  It seemed sarcastic, which was entirely unnecessary even if someone had been sarcastic to her.

Me too. They sent me 3 emails that they want to talk to me..but..sm
I emailed them back 3 times and have not heard from them.
They ignore both IM AND emails sm
Emails are usually ignored.  As for IM, usually ignored also except for 1 person, who is good at answering but she's lower down the pole and isn't the contact person for some of the stuff.  She's the only good one there.
What threatening emails?

That was keep emails LIMITED.
a
do what I did . . . block the emails. nm
nm
What emails? I don't even know what you are talking about.
nm
TransTech has very few emails and NO IM's
:)
My emails have always been answered..
and if a subject line in an email indicated someone was out of work, I am sure they would get them some work ASAP as bad as they have been needing help lately.
DRC Fired Emails?
Okay, so has anyone heard anything at all about their jobs at DRC (if you want to share)?  Yesterday was the day, I think.  Will it ever be the company it was before?
Oh, not even counting the emails sent, on and on
and just an IM for a stat dictation. That is really laughable as so many were actually hounded about their work, not an occasional but looking over your shoulder constantly, the emails were endless as were the other notes. Milner flipflopped back and forth on the same formats, 1 day like this, the next day like this, the third day oh back to where it was in the first place. The work I did was for a huge client- did that make any difference as like you say to not being bothered, that the work needs to be done? Nah. They needed the work then but instead made everyone that worked there miserable. I know for a fact as I talked with others (the ones originally hired on and the ones who all quit- quite a lot of them also.) Another thing, don’t even think about asking for any kind of raise- impossible and no one there wants to hear that. There was a meeting called at Milners and the other MTers and I laughed about the fact 1 of the head guys came in to let us know how he was especially picked to come back there, called out of retirement in fact and how much he was offered. Oh that really made others feel good! I along with the others could write books on this.
Got your emails and have responded
Thanks so much! The information is truly appreciated. I sent you a reply via email, as well, and I hope you will respond. Thanks again!
Then they should send the Emails to the MT
EVERYONE.  If the work is getting done then why don't they fire the MTs not putting in their time?
Yes. I sent emails to everyone I could think of within the company.

Throwing a fit about how I trusted them, believed and accepted their job offer, and now I had bills that weren't going to get paid, I had two kids to feed, and what kind of way was this to treat people.  I threatened to take this to the department of labor, write letters to their local newspapers in the Boston area.

So, I was compensated to shut me up.  Not that they were necessarily afraid of me, I was just prepared to be a very big thorn in their side until I found satisfaction.  So it was easier for them to just send me a check.

OVER 300 EMAILS PRO UNION !

The response was overwhelming - 300+ very supportive emails (and still counting)from hopeful MTs who want to assume an active role in securing their future.

You will be receiving a newsletter, information and questionairres by which you will express your opinion anonymously, in essence voting to agree on boundaries and terms.

We are realistic, and do not expect outrageously high wages, but we do expect to be treated with respect and compensated for our skills and dedication.

There will be no union dues as we get this thing off the ground in as many states as possible.  All  of our staff members are MTs, and they have volunteered their time to promote this initiative to stop the extinction of our trade.

Thank you for your quick and unexpectly great response !

We are stronger together.

NOTE:  For the naysayers who are trying to compare our plight to that of the auto workers', there is no comparison.  Apples and oranges.  Auto companies are directly affected by stock market plunges, oil prices, and the fact overproduction caused hundreds of thousands of gas-guzzling autos, trucks and vans that sit parked in the dealer lots throughout the US, gathering dust or snow.  Unions cannot control the world economy; they an only serve as the voice for a group of workers.

AMENDED: 450+ MT EMAILS !
nm
Comcast and AOL emails
Just an FYI. I recently went back to Comcrap and the installer told me that they made some changes to the way they did the emails, which to him made no sense since everything was going smooth. Now we can't even log into our email address with them. I've heard a lot of Comcast people complain that they aren't getting all of their emails. This has been going on for a hot little minute and they still haven't figured out how to fix it. Just thought I'd let you know that it's an issue with them and not necessarily the people contacting you.
So much to take to DC - thank you for all of your emails and samples

The USMLSU folks want to thank you all for emailing your suggestions, ideas, experiences, as well as samples of the horrific reports that are returned from India to US QA editors to correct - the before product; this is exactly what we needed to take with us to DC.  So many of you have responded and are already helping out, that we've proven that a group of skilled professionals do not have to go on strike to make a difference in their financial future.

The fair pay vote results will be listed shortly.
