I agree. Extext is the platform I've ever worked with. nm

Have any of you ever worked with EXText and RISS rad platform?
Very interested in pros/cons of the RISS and how it interfaces with EXText. Please feel free to email if you prefer
I agree, best platform I've been on...
Great search capabilities for patient name, prior reports, specific doc reports, etc. Easy to move around in -- just the cream of the crop in my platform experience.
What platform are you on? I am on Extext and can't get to 200 lph

DD & ExText is the best platform ever EZ
.
OSI..ExText platform ..nm

What the heck? I've never heard that in the 8 yrs I've worked here. sm
Go back to your STM or over his or her head.
ExText - iChart platform -- HELP!!!
I am starting with a company that uses this software.  I've never used this before and I'm FREAKING OUT.  Can anyone offer any advice on this software?  Bea
ExText is a transcription platform
it is Dictaphone ExText. It's a great Word based platform that some companies use for their transcription. Very easy to learn and use!
ExText (Dictaphone) is platform..
I've never used Extext before, so I'm learning. I really like it so far. It's been easy to learn.
They use Dictaphone ExText. It's a really great platform.

Love ExText platform but not sure about companies as I'm an IC. nm

I am working on Extext platform for another company
huge difference in line count, same type of reports, same hours. I can nearly double what I did there in the same amount of time. I don't know quite what the problem is but a lot of people have complained about it and we still haven't gotten an answer to our satisfaction. I have talked to people who left there and who posted their story here and elsewhere and they got a threatening letter from the company attorney. Absolutely no grounds for this, folks are just relating their experience.
I've typed radiology on Extext...
for several years now and I wouldn't want to work on any other platform. I love it.

The session statistics will vary depending on several factors. I also worked for a company where the ability to view was not allowed, and the reason for this was because the Extext line counting was different from the line counting used by the company I worked for. If the specific contract your MTSO has with the account you work on is not paid by the same line counting configuration, then the session statistics will not be the same as the line counts you get off of the iChart website which are set up according your account's specific line counts parameters.

You will probably find as many people that hate Extext as you do that love it...I for one definitely do love it. Good luck! :)
I've always used my own ShortHand when using ExText. Always compatible, and

my favorite platform is dictaphone extext. interested in hearing what yours is.

Anyone worked on DQS and Dictaphone EXtext?

I need to make a decision of which job to take...the DQS acct wants 5000 a pay period (part time) and the EXtext 7000.   I'm wondering if it would be easier to make lines on the EXtext than the DQS since I've read a lot of people have trouble making lines on DQS.  They are both 65 character lines.  Thanks.

I have worked for 6 companies using Extext
You can do a ctrl-s and do documents typed today and get a list of them.
They've used ExText in the past. Ad from 2006 said you need Word 2003. Offered 8 cpl for
s
i worked for a company that used ExText, and they were aware of a problem
with the line counting, so they actually provided a web site, separate from Extext, that provided your daily count.
I'm not at TT anymore, but I worked yesterday using ExText, and after 2 jobs sm

I ran out of work, and it said connected and that's it.  I wasn't blocked.   There just was no work.  I do not know how long you have been an MT, but I have come to expect it.  It only makes sense.  Kids are out of school, doctors take off to be with their families, patients do not want to come in for elective surgery during the holidays, etc.   It all adds up to less work, unfortunately.  I try to prepare for it, but I guess I'm never truly ready.

I do not know you, but from seeing your posts, I agree with some of the others who have stated that you seem very unhappy with your current position.   If that is the case, and if you have talked with management and they will not help you, then perhaps you should try to find something else.  I have worked for several companies, and most have been good experiences.  I will help if I can.

Good luck to you.  I hope more work comes your way.  Heck, I hope more work comes my way too!

They used ExText, Shorthand worked, employee, forget 10 cpl, and lots of
h
Much easier and better process of doig this, as I worked at a hospital on ExText nm
n
I agree with the others -- I like ExText. TransTech uses it, and sm

I am sure others do too (in case that is the company you are unhappy with).  MDI-MD uses Bayscribe, and it is also very easy to use/user friendly.   Webmedx uses their own platform, but it is easy to us as well.  I have worked with Iscriptor too, and it is fairly uncomplicated.  Good luck!

Also DocQscribe is the best platform I've ever used.
nm
agree, I think extext is the only one with archived reports
//
Totally agree,I love ExText
I have been working in ExText for months and love it. All of my lines are very accurate and I make an awesome line count every day working in it. I wouldn't want to work on any other platform!
I agree that ExText leaves a lot to be desired...sm
it even seems like there are days it is better than others. How does that work? Shouldn't the same endoscopy report, almost completely canned, always populate the same way?
I worked QA on that platform and they had ...
just updated it. It is the WORST platform I ever worked on. I'm so glad I moved on. I am now working for the best company - I love my job now.
I did QA, didn't find their platform great. I've seen
a recent post where they pay 8 cpl.  Sound quality and dictators horrible and no way is 8 cpl enough.   They have constant tunover.
I agree - hard to get decent line count with ExText...sm
Good to know other people are having the same issue as I thought I was just getting slower in my old age!  Seems like I can do almost twice as much with DocQScribe and escription.
Couldn't agree more! I don't hear other ExText client MT's complain about
nm
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work.  I do MT and QA.
depends on what platform you worked on

They arent all great, but they arent all bad.   When did you do your time there?

I have worked on this platform for years at MQ
and have not found this to be true at all. If you are going with MQ, just know that you do not get paid for the demographic info a/k/a ADT info.

I love DQS and have found my line counts to be accurate.
Has anyone worked with Iscriptor platform?
Does Iscriptor only work with ExpressScribe voice player?  I have had problems getting ExpressScribe to work the way I would like it to.  When I let up on the foot pedal, I would like the recording to back up a few words rather than just picking up where it left off or even moving ahead a little.  Any advice?
Not sure if related but I worked on Neo PLATFORM,
x
the platform I worked on was sten-tel
still have the bookmarks - must be a few different ones that they use.
I've worked for both.
I prefer MDI-FL of the two. It also depends on what you're looking for out of a company. MDI-FL was far more flexible with regard to account assignment, work schedule, and line commitment. You've read the archives. There are pros and cons to each employer. My personal opinion is that MDI-FL is the better of the two. I'd go back there if I hadn't found my current position. Medware, never.
I've never actually worked for her, but she's
a very nice person.
I've worked for them before....
Usually that happens when they are waiting for the account to actually start up.  Just send her an email asking her about the status of the account/your start date.
I've never worked anywhere but MQ

until recently, but if you like the DocQScribe platform, you might want to look into DSG.  I tested and interviewed with them and was offered a decent pay of 9 cpl.  I originally accepted a position with them but ended up turning them down b/c they wanted more of a schedule commitment from me than I wanted to give.  For the short while that I was on their communication roster, they seemed to have a lot of work available in DSG-II and they offered bonuses almost every weekend to work extra that were paid back to the first line that you typed for the day it was offered.

The people I spoke with there seemed pretty nice.  Like I said, I never actually worked for them, but had I not wanted the true IC status, I would have.  I really liked the idea of working on DQS, especially since I'm not familiar with any of the other platforms out there (until now).

Good luck in whatever you decide.  There are a lot of archives on here for Keystrokes if you check.  Don't really know anything about Transcend other than the constant jobs they post.  That would kind of make me wonder, but maybe they've hit a growth spurt.  If you do end up at DSG, please email me and let me know what they're like.  If things don't work out with my new job, I may try them again.  The recruiter was open to that idea.

I've never worked for them, but -
I'd call (or at least email the recruiter) and find out if there's a problem, or if they've simply forgotten. As I indicated, I've never worked for them, but if I were waiting to start a job, I'd be shaking somebody's tree to find out the reason for hold up.

Good luck :-)
I've worked there....sm
and would have to say ditto on the other posters comments. Very nice people, pay up front, good communication, and I had pretty productive accounts with them. The pay is indeed low, but if the productivity is good and you like the company, that may all even out for you.
I've never worked for them

but if I had not decided to stay retired that is where I would have gone because I know someone who works for them (I trained her myself).  She's been there a number of years and all-in-all says she is quite happy.  Her pay is way above average although I didn't ask her if she knew what the starting rate is now.  One thing I did ask her is whether they ran out of work and she said almost never.  AND she doesn't do VR.  I didn't ask whether they have VR or not.

As I said a few days ago, this is second hand information and I have no first hand knowledge.  Probably not much help but I would suggest at least talking with them.  You never know until you try it for yourself.

Good luck!

I've heard mixed things about MediTech platform...can anyone weight in on (sm)
its pros and cons? I'm going to be learning it in my new job soon. I couldn't find much in the archives that is very recent. Thanks.
I have worked at Webmedx for 5 years now. The platform sm
issues are continually being worked on. I think the platform is slow when work gets low. Very flexible place to work. You get 12 hours to do your 7 or 8 hour day (35 hr/week is full time with benefits). I like the ShortHand and the platform, very user friendly, very, very simple to learn. The accounts I do are high ESL but that's fine by me. I have an ear for them, so not too much of a problem. My boss is wonderful, the QA folks are very helpful, and tech services can't be better, in my opinion. Hope this helps.
I've worked 4 jobs before. I know what its like..
when money was tight, I got another job. (I had full-time MT job, waitressed at restaurant, bartended at a lounge, and cleaned and oversaw my apartment building) Did all that to move out of my parent's basement. That's how I am. Money's not so tight anymore because of BF, so now I have TIME to spend with my kids and I CAN appreciate that TIME because when I worked in-house, I didn't HAVE it. K. Enuf said.
I've worked for MDI over a year now

I've heard of them but have never worked for them.
Originally, it was a mother/daughter team in Montana.  Evidently now, the daughter's in Wisconsin but they still have an office in Montana.  Nice enough people.  I worked with the son-in-law for a while at another job.  The workload is easy, but I don't know how steady it is.  I applied with them when I was a newbie but found a job elsewhere for more pay.
Yes, they were the rudest QA I've ever worked with. nm
x
I've not worked for them directly, but have been...
in contact with the upper management off an on for other matters. Very personable, level-headed, and presumably much SANER than some other company higher-ups that we've all discussed here!
