I am extremely happy with Transcend and I welcome all the MDI

MTs to the group. Regardless of what you hear on this board, it is one of the good ones out there. Not perfect, but still very, very good.

The team really cares, and I have had issues and I can bring them right to the top if I need to.

E-mail me if you need more info. I do not like to come on this board, as sometimes it can be a downer. No offense to anyone.

I'm extremely happy.
Have never had a late paycheck.  They just rolled out a new incentive plan that looks like it'll boost my pay.  I like my supervisor.  No major complaints.
Very happy with PS. Extremely nice people. sm
Their platform is fully over internet. It has a few bugs, but they are working these out all the time. These are just plain nice people running that place. I really have enjoyed them and am so happy to have shed the stress of the uncertainty with MedQuist. Proscript does not offshore, either.

The big thing I like about Proscript is that they all work together pleasantly. With MQ, we are left out there alone without the tools to do a good job. With Proscript I actually feel I am part of an organization that is genuinely dedicated to doing a good job - and provides the tools and the feedback to do that. I like the QA people, too. They provide good feedback done in a diplomatic way - and they know we are all just human, which helps.
I'm very happy with Transcend.
I've worked for Transcend for eight months as an IC. The pay is always on time or a day ahead. My supervisor is wonderful and IT is superb. If you have a problem or question, no matter what time of day or night, there is always someone there to help and quickly find a resolution. Plus, they believe in promoting from within. They are very flexible if you have a problem and cannot work that day. I have found my home! One more thing - the pay is above what other companies are offering.
Happy at Transcend
Everything has stayed the same for me. All my accounts, team leads, etc. Nothing but happiness on my end.
Happy at Transcend!

I hate to say this for lack of spoiling a good thing, but I am really, really happy at Transcend.  They have been great so far.  A little disorganized at times, but I can say I am 99% happy with this place.  Does anyone else have good things to say about this company, I would love to hear them!!!

Hope everyone finds happiness in the land of MT.

I think you will be very happy at Transcend...

I know it's hard to escape the negativity on the boards, but know that half of what you read is not true.  I have been with MDI-FL and now with Transcend for over ten years.  The core values have remained the same.  I love my work and I am treated with respect.  I think of my team more like a family.  We were all scared when MDI sold to Transcend, but it turned out to be the best thing.  I am not sure what would have happened to us with this downturn in the economy; I feel so much more secure being part of a larger company that has the financial backing to withstand the storm.  I have never worried about my paycheck, unlike many other people on this board where they sometimes do not get paid or their check bounces.

I have tried not to post when I have seen all the negativity, as sometimes it just breeds more negativity - but really, give the MDI/Transcend merger a chance.. you may find that they are not like other companites and they really do mean what they say.  I can speak for my experiences and the experiences of the long term employees that I know.   E-mail me if you wish.  Keep your chins up, it will be fine.

Transcend was not for me. I wasn't happy (sm)
with the pay system.  For VR editing, they deducted 29 or 30% off pay, and that made a BIG difference in pay.  I felt like they were skimming off the top.  Lines counted should be lined paid IMO.  To each his own, it was not for me.
I was happy until they sold out to Transcend. It seems to me that since sm
then, the communication has gone downhill and the managers and owners don't seem to care as much. It is more of corporate atmosphere instead of personal. If I wanted to work for a big corporation like Transcend, I would have. I chose MDI based on the fact that the owners are transcriptionists and seemed to care about the industry. I guess the money spoke louder.
Small town Missouri girl very happy at Transcend

I’ve been sitting here in my little corner of Missouri wondering if I could diplomatically address any of your concerns.  At first I was compelled to simply set the record straight and now I’m just compelled to show my support not only for my country…but also my company!  That’s right…bold statement, huh?!  No, I’m not a SUIT, (and BTW neither is Stephanie Campbell) but a humble MLS who was promoted to a TL (Team Leader) and now again to a QAS within MY company.  You see, Transcend loves their MLS and treats them with the respect and the recognition they deserve.  If you want to excel in this industry, Transcend is the only company you should be looking at.  Oh, and by the way, I had the opportunity to travel to Atlanta and meet some of the SUITS of the company and they’re just like me…patriotic, family-loving, hard-working everyday human beings.  AND they care about my opinion; what works for my region and why other things don’t!

I worked for a large hospital facility in Nebraska before coming to Transcend and loved it dearly, but honestly technology-wise I didn’t realize how far behind they were.  Since being with Transcend I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand how they continually upgrade, enhance and automate processes for their MLS; always trying to make things easier and time efficient for their employees.  Who wouldn’t want to be on the leading edge of technology in our industry?

As for sending work overseas…. Transcend does in fact outsource on occasion a very small percentage of it’s volume, but only when there are gaps in turnaround time coverage and ONLY when the customer approves it.  If there are American MLS willing and able to take some of that work from overseas workers, we are more than happy to provide it to them.  That’s why we need your help to keep this company going strong as an AMERICAN company.  Every single day I’m thankful for my job with Transcend and have grown to love the tight-knit family I work with.  Each day we talk and keep each other inspired!  We cover for each other in time of crisis and give each other a pep talk when we need it.  I can confidently say that my life has changed for the better since I came on board.  I really do love it.  Transcend is where it’s at if you want to work at home.

Me in my little corner of Missouri will get off my soap box and let you ponder this:  Perhaps if a small town girl from Missouri can make a CAREER with Transcend maybe you can too?!  The possibilities with Transcend are out there, attainable….you just have to reach for it!

They pay 0.015 cpl for QA work! Extremely, extremely low, low, low. nm
x
YES, extremely sad. Especially,
When you search and search and try to find a great company and you find one like DRC. Gone now. Who next? Very depressing. Time to get out.
What do you consider extremely
I work for a company and I average $20+ an hour. For my city I'm at about twice the hourly pay for someone without a 4-year degree and about twice the hourly rate for an in-house MT. I don't feel like I'm underpaid.

If you are talking about companies that pay 6 cpl or something... well, that's a different matter.
Extremely low
I agree that the people at Proscript are great (wonderful in fact), but nice doesn't pay the bills.

My work load there has been very low (to sometimes nonexistent). I have sometimes had to just sit at my computer for up to an hour or more just waiting for a job to finally come in.
Pay was okay, staff was extremely
rude, they will fire you for anything and you cannot trust them at all!! Worst company out there IMO
He was extremely rude to me when he was at JLG. nm
x
Extremely unprofessional nm
Are you a member of management?
That's extremely hard to believe
xx
As of a few months ago, the pay was extremely low.
nm
I would be extremely leery
of starting up with a company if there was a lot of negative comments here.  Granted, we have all had bad experienes with different companies and there are sour grapes out there but if there are a number of negative comments and the comments seem reasonable and not real 'anger-based' - just mostly frustrated - then I would make note of them.  We are only going to grow and stay united if we give appropriate feedback from our experiences.  If you do start with this company, just be cautious and don't quit the one you are with now unless you have a really good feeling about them.  IMHO only.
I took what I felt to be an extremely
long and involved test to be an Editor for SmartMed. Got hired but still did not understand why it was necessary to test that extensively.
extremely unorganized and this

is after being offered a position three times by this company over the past few years and each time I have been turned off by how unorganized they are over there.  I had the same experience this past week with them not getting back to me.  Then they did and told me about two positions.  I told her the one I was interested in but needed an answer about the ins.  Then they called me back the next day but she forgot why I was even waiting for the call and then to top it off was told the position that I was interested was no longer available.  This is the third experience with them.  I don't have time to tell you about the first two.  Incredible.  I have a better job offer from TT (actually to return back to them on a better account) and Axolotl which I will decide on by tomorrow, and another from Transcend which I am turning down but Transcend is right on, very organized, answered all my questions, and told me what all she had available and I picked the one I wanted, no surprises and no being left hanging, immediately sent me the ins info by email before we even got off the phone!  That is the way a company should be run as far as HR is concerned.  The two that I am deciding on also are very efficient in answering ALL questions in a TIMELY MANNER and are organized.  Debbie is great and Axolotl is very very nice and polite and immediately sent me the information I needed such as INSURANCE.  I need to have questions answered before accepting a position.  I will not go in blindly.  I have a chronically sick daughter for crying out loud and some companies did not even have the decency to respond to me on ins. so they got nothing back from me.  Oh and get this when I finally did get the ins. information from KS it was this!! http://www.geoaccess.com/phcs/po/  No information on nothing, just a provider look up and when you click on the home icon and travel your way through the website trying to find info there is nothing that states anything about what the coverage is!!

I will never apply for KS again.  Three strikes and your'e out!!

And YOU must enjoy being extremely

That is extremely unprofessional...sm
It's also very direspectful to one of us. We are all a family of MTs here, so I take this personally!! I think you should post this up top as a separate post so everybody can see it better. They need to know about this company's baby fits if they don't get their way. They wouldn't be making any money if it wasn't for us!!!
Extremely busy... sm
It might be because they have been extremely busy with transitioning a new account.
Extremely frustrated
After three years with FN, to be treated this way is just uncalled for and very unprofessional.  Every account they put me on only lasted a few months and then they lost it, then another and they lost it, five times so far, and now told about the new account with a billion lines, ya right.  Where is it?  I have not see it yet!  Bunch of lies, all lies.
extremely frustrated indeed
Hi Paul,
When did you start with FN, as I started in 2/2005 and what you are saying is exactly what I have been told also. This new account was supposed to keep us all overwhelmed with work and I am lucky to get 1 or 2 charts PER DAY. I'm practically begging for work and I'm just lucky if they decide to answer my emails or phone calls. Ready to pull my hair out...
Wow, that is extremely impressive!
That is good customer service. We are all customers to each other, I was taught one time in a class at a hospital where I worked. That is really nice to hear.
Extremely low for VA work
Worked in VA a long time and it tends to be very challenging and very ESL. For VBC, this is a really low rate.
8 cpl without spaces is extremely low for anyone
except maybe a newbie!
There software is extremely slow. Very

long wait for report to send before you can start another, and I have cable.  Not productive.  Could never make 1200 lines per day required and that is usually not a problem for me.  Pay is on time and for the most part accurate.  People are okay to work with, except for one manager who is a "my way or the highway" type.

I am sure they work extremely hard, lol.
They are used to that from setting up their dirt houses and what not. They are used to working hard trying to fight for food scraps.
Are they extremely strict with schedules? nm
x
Newbies who accept that extremely
LOW amount of pay are the reason companies offshore!! I refuse to baby them.
So you are embarrassed. You are also extremely naive.
x
LOL okay....you must be extremely insecure to think that was snotty
??
My account is extremely flexible!
Whenever I have needed time off, be it just a few hours during my shift or a day or two, it has never been a problem at all! I love it there!
It can be extremely slow and there is no breakdown, but
nm
Just my experience but extremely poor mgt

no holiday pay of any kind,  overhire, expensive poor quality benefits, did I say overhire? way way way overhire which always to me shows concern for company and not the working stiffs...Good Luck and you will make sense of it all...it just is a little overwhelming at times..

It may take a few days...they are EXTREMELY busy - SM
They just had multiple new account start this week and things are really crazy in the office. I would give them a few days, and if you still don't hear anything, it may not hurt to contact them. Good luck. It's a great company.
Yes, they are extremely busy in the office - SM
They are constantly getting new accounts, which means they are hiring a lot and are getting a ton of resumes sent to them, so it might take them a little bit of time to get to the all. Also, they just replaced their HR person, so it is a little hectic now. I would definitely give them a call. They are all very nice in the office, and I'm sure they will help you. I have been there for almost a year, and it was the best move I ever made! Good luck!
They are extremely caring people.
I agree they are disorganized at this time. I almost left because of that. But I decided to stay because they personally care about the MTs they hire. I have not been there long, and I have worked but run out of work mostly. However, they check in on me very often, not to bug me but to make sure all is well. They have said more than 10 times how much I am worth to them, and I believe them. Only 1 other company I have ever worked with has ever been so kind to me. And so, I believe once this huge growth spurt is over and checks and balances are in place which they are working on right now and fixing, everyone working there or who is chosen to work there is very lucky. I decided to hang in and I do not believe I am wrong. Rather be with people who run a company and who consider me a person, than a number and a machine (I have been considered a transcribing robot more than once in my career). Do e mail or call and yes, Becky is FANTASTIC. Good luck to you and to this wonderful company which is definitely worth giving a chance.
They are extremely flexible regarding your shift
They will work with you and if you want third, you can do partial third and first or split other times. They do not stare at you every minute either. They expect you are mature and will be there. You can even swing either way on the times and it is no problem. You will find that flexibility will be a key to your productivity there and that they are willing to work with you. They are the only company I find who works with employees with such good benefits at the same time... Good Luck!
1200 lines per day for VR is extremely low.

With VR, a person should be doing at least 2000+ per day.  You're kidding yourself if you think you will find a VR job that only requires 1200 or less!

Beyond Text is extremely user
friendly and I've never had a problem making lines on it.  In fact, I made my min line requirements by the end of my first week with it.  I've been there going on 2 years now.  I find it very simple and a lot of things are automated as far as formatting, etc.
Extremely low work load right now
Supposedly new accounts are coming on board soon.....I sure hope so!
This was extremely helpful! The DQS training is very inadequate. Thank you.
nm
Huh? I am swamped with work.... it is extremely busy.
Are you sure you are talking about the same place????
RE: Editing at extremely low line rates
If you get a discount on the coffee, I'm in....LOL
Editing at extremely low line rates.
What are the standard rates for Quality Assurance Editing these days? Well, that depends on what you are editing. If you are editing TRAINED Voice Recognition files expect to make less per line, maybe a couple of cents per line. For UNTRAINED Voice Recognition files, you should be earning at least 3 cpl or better. Editing relatively clean reports that require very little change should earn you up to about 4 cpl. Editing transcribed reports by new grad MTs or offshore MTs should earn you 5 to 6 cpl. I really don't think I'm far off base here, but I am certain that if you take a job editing transcribed reports done by offshore MTs, you should not accept anything less than 5 cpl, otherwise you are doing yourself a disservice even if you are trying to break into Editing. Feel free to respond.
Platform is extremely user friendly! They are one of the better
companies out there. I would suggest working for them and deciding for yourself.
Conference dictations are generally extremely sm
tedious as the voice quality is awful. Consider that when I was in college back in 1970 I made $1.50 a page straight typing from text. You'll be transcribing, not straight typing, a conference or interview.
