Could I ask when you noticed it, and what you noticed,
you noticed, and how long ago you quit?  I'm just trying to figure out what the deal is here.  I love MDI and have always felt lucky to work for them.  I hope they don't take a good company and ruin it.
I noticed that, as well. (nm)

Has anyone else noticed that

this sudden embracing of offshoring came immediately after it became public that Transcend is now offshoring?  First, it seemed that the posters who said this weren't believed and proof was requested.  Then came the sudden embrace of offshoring.  I've noticed other posts on this board where there seemed to be preference shown to Transcend for some unknown reason.

Maybe, rather than lowering standards and doing all this embracing, -- just MAYBE -- it might be time to come clean and just admit that a company might not be as great as some people think it is and that maybe -- just MAYBE -- unhappy employees of that company who posted here in the past were telling the truth, like myself, only to have my honesty questioned by the administrator, who then went on to track the ISP numbers of the people who also expressed their problems with the company.

Now if I'm banned for noticing and expressing this, then that only proves to speak louder than this post ever could.

you have now only noticed?
i type freely when im not working (this helps me not think about work, but just do what i want).

so no need to make a big thing out of it if that is what you're trying to do. if you really wanna find something to pick on to make yourself feel real, go ahead, knock yourself out lol
I noticed that too. nm

Same old, same old. No changes noticed at all.

So far I have not noticed

I am disappointed in CyMed.  They don't pay for spaces and it is very, very hard to get a line count for me.

noticed it too
First thing after reading this posting, I thought how can she/he be saying this with all those errors in the message.
I noticed that the ad said --sm
People Support Rapid Text. I have heard of Rapid Text. Maybe they changed their name??
noticed
I just thought it was ME!!
I noticed that too!
I had applied to it before it went MIA. I noticed it because I had emailed another MT about it who was also looking and she went to the site and could not find it. I looked again too and it was sure enough gone. I thought I was losing my mind for a minute.
Has anyone noticed that sm

Has anyone noticed that lately, once an MT has signed the offer papers for a company to be an employee, (that is formally accepts offer), the wind turns cold? Lack of communication all of a sudden, no updates on training, late training, late equipment and the like?  This MT has had this happen on at least 2 occasions of late.  The first time, ignored and put up with it.  Stayed with company. Okay job but not much work.  Now, same thing again, miscommunications re: start date, difficulty getting anything pinned down.  The other day this MT was highly regarded, now the papers are signed and seems like all of a sudden this MT is in the way.

Deciding to stay with original company and stick things out. But just got an odd feeling about it all. Don't have any bad references, or bad work history... anybody else getting the cold shoulder? Just wondering if just becuase I'm paranoid does mean they are not interested in me. LOL. Thanks in advance for your comments. :)

yes I have noticed!
I am only into the transcription field new somewhat I graduated from my program in May 2005 and have not really started looking for at home until recently. As I had in-house jobs from time I graduated three years ago. This year they came to me emailed me I didn't really go on this site much before now so I wasn't aware of it. I did do a BBB search over 3.5 months ago but I swear nothing came up on them. Yes, I have learned but I do somehow plan to get that money back. Ever hear of rip off report.com? If enough people file a complaint for transam might get somewhere. I lost alot of money out of that and I refuse to let it die just like that. I am now with someone new but I wish I would have known more about this site mtstars 3.5 months ago. Thanks for letting me know though much appreciated!
I noticed it too...
no message (nm).
yes, I have noticed
that too.  what an insult!
Just noticed
The mods will move this to the Gab board so I'm sure I'll have to repost later.
Just noticed this
message. I work for Lee Perfect also.
Yep that's what I noticed...
What a misleading heading US-based MT companies Baloney!!
I have noticed too
It kind of bugs me cuz it makes it seem like they don't think we are smart enough to catch on to a new platform.   It also makes it harder for us to learn new platforms or get the chance if they won't accept you unless you have that prior platform experience.   I personally want to do some VR to learn it so I have that as knowledge but can't because I don't have any experience in it.  But, I do have over 17 years transcription experience which should account for something, both for VR and other platforms.
You know what I have noticed, the ones
that are putting God and family first aren't the ones that are so mean and spiteful on here. Thank you for understanding where I come from. For the rest of you, you should give it a try, God and family, you just might be happier! I will pray for you!
This is what I noticed about VR right away
I post here and have said I have worked on VR now for 4-5 years, time is flying by on me so that is about the time. When working at a hospital, was told going on and then trained on VR inhouse and was told that our pay would be cut as soon as VR was in play which took a very short period of time, less than 1-2 months total. Things that were supposed to be done this way before, seems like the rules relaxed a bit. After VR was in we were outsourced to a MTSO. I am thankful, very thankful, that I got to train inhouse and therefore was not as frightened of VR as some are. It was extremely easy and the platform was good. I personally do not think quality has relaxed any at all for this particular hospital as you better believe it, do something wrong such as get a wrong discharge date and you will hear from them, amongst other things. Maybe the place where this particular person is might start off at the same price but might drop after once trained or knows they can go lower. I very much would doubt any place investigating in such a $$$$$ priced machine hearing from the sales people can save them money in the long run only to have the MTs stay on the same cpl they are making straight typing. I know I get more for straight now than VR.
YES! I have noticed it!
I have noticed it in the last few weeks. It has definitely gone backwards. Glad to hear I'm not the only one seeing this.
just noticed their add on careers
I guess they have lowered the pay again.  Now they are hiring in at .075 cpl.  Gee, that much?
true that was what I noticed
with their IM messages. hmmmmm
Sorry, just noticed nobody answered you yet. sm
The benefits are pretty good regarding PTO and holidays.  If you are asking about insurance, the coverage is great with BC/BS, which you can use almost anywhere.  All good providers take it.   Cost depends on how many you are insuring.  If you yourself, it is about $75 per month.  Cost grows for spouse, or 1 dependent, then entire family.  The cost for that is pretty high, but individual is good.
Me neither. I never noticed a difference...
like the above poster said, it's hard to tell that they are even related to Transcend, unless you are on BeyondTXT and get a lot of their e-mails.
I have noticed that some companies
use different names to run ads, perhaps to prevent potential applicants from searching the archives and finding out negative information. It seems suspicious to me when I discover that someone did not use their real company name in the ad, or use a person's name. I have experienced much bait and switch in looking for just the right place to work.
I noticed the same thing -- the

place was crawling with KS people who were delighted to share their joy with their jobs when they stopped by on their coffee breaks. Now you can hardly raise a response. Guess the advertising campaign was successfu and terminated?

I noticed that, too.....very interesting
Anyone have any theories about why Chris' replies are now gone?
Have you noticed how much MDI-MD is hiring?
Ever wonder why? High turnover.
I haven't noticed that.
Frankly all my accounts have been so low that I haven't worked enough to notice a line count difference.   Some of my accounts pay more for headers and footers, some don't pay at all.  That sounds pretty shady to have a 27% reduction though.
Have you noticed not one Focus ad
xx
I noticed recent ads for MDI-MD
on MTJobs says full and part-time IC positions are available. Something new they are offering?
Not sure if you noticed, but he's back yet again not once but twice - NM
NM
another thing noticed ... sm

I've seen same news stories about people putting off or foregoing medical care and, yes, I think MTs will see a reduction in work to some degree.

However, one thing I've been noticing over the past few months and it seems to be showing up more and more recently is that patients are either not filling px or stopping their meds because they can't afford them.   What alarms me is that a lot of these meds are not what you would consider an optional med, like something for prevention.   They aren't taking really important meds for things like cardiac, diabetes, etc.   Not good...

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place in the thread ... not on these boards very much but just wanted to share.  :-)

Acusis MT's - have you noticed - s/m
something odd with your QA'ed work?  like telling you to do it one way one day and then the complete opposite a few days later?  or in some cases, their *correction* is so completely incorrect as to be funny, if it weren't so ignorant?  who are these people?  (all unfamiliar names)  do you think our work might be getting QAed in india? (god forbid ----)
Also noticed the lack of
work out of a Chicago company but as it is a p/t job and not my main account, I can live with it for the time being.

I wonder also if MTs who had left the field because they were fed up, for many reasons, are now returning due to the economy. Seems that companies have more MTs replying to their ads than they know what to do with! Sadly that does not make it a good market for the MT.
I noticed on my last MD visit
that the nurse who took my vitals, weight and chief complaint for being there had one of those EMR gadgets and was struggling with it and talking about how much she hated it. She could not even spell nausea (she said this aloud) and had to use the end of her pencil to hit each letter keypad (as they were so small) to explain it. I wonder how many doctors delegate the task to their nurses and other office staff?

I once worked for special needs patients and would take them to the doctor sometimes and that doctor started using EMR for his practice. I watched him once through a window in a charting room with it, he looked very frustrated. It then made sense why the patient reports and encounters from his office had started coming to my office so sloppy, whereas they had not been before, with poor grammar, little punctuation, incorrect capitalization and often sentences that just did not make logical sense. The doctor was doing them on his new fancy-dancy EMR. It seems to me the answer about EMR really depends a lot on the quality of the report the doctor and/or health facility actually want.
You know, I noticed they never put it in writing
It was always written to make up the missed work or adjust your schedule.  Nothing about when to make it up.  When there would be work.  You could spend hours and hours day and night waiting to make up that work but they would never comment about it in writing.
I've noticed

that the post is pretty effectively being buried alive.  I was replying to the OP about no work.  TT was so different back in 2002 or 2003 (whichever, I forget) when I first went to work for them.  It was pretty much like the good ole days.  It started downhill about 2005 (I think it was) and I'm glad I'm not there anymore to witness any more decline.  I have to say that I didn't stay out of work long, I'm not one to put up with any nonsense and if I had stayed on I would probably have been dead by now from getting so angry I would either have had a heart attack or a stroke.

My grandkids are visiting and they sleep late so I can't really start any activities until they get up.  When I saw the no work again, I just tripped out for a minute.  At the end even the Big Q never treated me so shabbily.  I just reckoned people had a right to some information and I felt like giving it.  I appreciate the kind words.  I would never mislead anyone.  I know of several companies and people who work for them that are much better if you want to remain healthy and not stress to death day in and day out.  I know of one who has someone I know well working for them that gets a bad rap here but she has worked for them more than 10 years, gets paid way above average and never runs out of work, in fact they are on OT at the moment.  She says she got into trouble for taking off early from her shift without telling them recently, apparently they are sticklers about that, but she wouldn't consider working anywhere else. I won't give any names, not sure it is allowed and anyhow, anyone interested can do their research.  If a company wouldn't give me a pay range I would not take their test either.  If they won't give you a range then it's a pretty safe bet they pay peanuts.

It just really pains me for you folks who are sitting around waiting for a job to dribble in. I have trained many MTs in my career and so I care deeply for MTs, whether or not I personally know them.

I'm just saying there are other companies out there who pay well, don't run out of work and respect their MTs as TT used to do.

As for the excuses for running out of work and, yes, I got the emails whether or not I was out of work myself.  The funniest I ever saw was that it had been MLK Day, as if that was a major holiday.  LOL   Major holidays have always been slow but it seems now grandparents day is a major holiday.  LOL

Sooooo......I wish the best for all of you.  Don't sell yourselves short, you deserve better.  The grandkids will be going home right after the 4th and so I'll probably disappear again.

My best to all of you.

And have you noticed how much faster sm
you need to set the voiceplayer in VR to get the same amount of lines that you got before that upgrade? Unbelievable. Mine is now 50% as opposed to 30%. I barely have time to pee now.
I haven't noticed that.
I have found during interviews and such that most companies are willing to train the right person. Most of these platforms aren't that hard anyway. My current job I trained in 15 minutes. It took a week or two to learn ALL the in's and out's of the program but most of them seem to be similar, IMO.
I've noticed that, too.
There are some people who have sung the glory of Transcend that come from areas where they will stone you for driving a foreign car (even the ones with US factories) because the car put together in Alabama is not American enough. But, eliminate US jobs by sending them to Indian, well, good golly, that's as patriotic as baseball and apple pie.

Double standards and flexible ethics are a wonderful thing if they work for them, but don't try to convince me that the Star Spangled Banner sung in Hindi to a bhangra beat is good for the USofA.
I've noticed that too
For the last 3-4 weeks, I have noticed that the dictators I have gotten are more difficult, foreign, and there is less work, especially after the weekend, and this has been a growing trend lately. Would like to know the answer to your question too.
Would this be DSG? Certainly what I noticed with the DQS software there. I moved on. nm

I noticed that too. His favorite topic definitely is himself.
and another interesting thing is that if he were posting the exact same how great I am stuff under a woman's name everyone would either ignore him or tear him to pieces. It's amazing how differently male posters get treated than female ones, especially on a message board that obviously has so many lonely female members.

I've tried posting using a male name before, not to this board, but on another, and everyone was just so friendly, affable, supportive.

Try it sometime. You'll be surprised how differently you get treated on message boards if you're a guy.
How long have you noticed it happening? For me, just
x
Has anyone noticed that AAMT guidelines are not
being utilized so much by some accounts. In the beginning the big national I worked for insisted we use all the AAMT guidelines to the letter. Then it seemed that slowly the accounts I had made changes to this and actually went back to the traditional ways. Now, I am with a new company and my accounts are more traditional than ever in the sense that none of them want only one space after a period, they do want numerals typed out, etc. It was rumored that 2 women got together and came up with these ideas as a money making scheme and turned the MT grammar wisdom upside down. Perhaps, some of the ridiculous ideas they called guidelines are not going to fly in the long run. As for me, I prefer the way I was trained years ago.
I've been there for a while and haven't noticed
any changes at all.  Did I miss something?
