I usually shoot off an e-mail when I have to make a quick trip

Posted By: MSMT on 2007-09-23
In Reply to: TransTech scheduling question. I know you work 1 weekend day (sm) - nn

unless it will take longer than 10 mins or so.  I live in a small town so nothing takes much more than 10 mins!  They have NEVER micromanaged me and I highly doubt they will ever start unless I start to become some sort of slacker, which I won't.

Don't cash it at your bank; make the trip to THEIRS
THEIR account will be charged, not yours.
oh but they are quick to send an e-mail...
when you get something wrong in the dictation...
I wouldn't be so quick to make that assumption.
Administrations change, some contracts post date that event. People forget.
If you seriously make 10 cpl, could you please e-mail
me with where you work? Or if anyone knows of anywhere that offers more than 9 cpl for clinic, please let me know. I make 7.5 for base, and I thought that was good. I interviewed with 25 different MTSOs before accepting the job I am at. No one offered more than that for clinic.
Quick, the gene pool need a quick Clorox!

Do you have to make, fax/mail copies? nm

Could I please get a quick reply to quick hiring???....sm
I cannot find anything here or in archives about Integrity Transcription Service LLC; I was rapidly recruited and offered employment w/o testing, and wonder if there are any MTs here who work/have worked there?  Could you please share here or at my e-mail?  Soooo much appreciated, trying to weed things out!
RadGuy...you are a trip! sm
Thanks for the humor.
Business trip?
Why would management go to Vegas on a business trip if Dictaphone makes all the business deals?
But if we can slow it down or trip it up, then
NO way of knowing each MT's life circumstances, or why one may wait for work and another might bail. More things come into play here than 'just being responsible for yourself'. Some of these MTs are responsible for the rest of their family, and are the sole breadwinners. They know how expensive it is to just change jobs. Ever hear that old saying, 'A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush?' For some of us, waiting for what WAS a good-paying job to get better, afer it appears to have slipped a bit, was the wiser way to go. In the future, having read about this issue on MT Stars this past week, I would venture a guess that not many MTs are going to fall for this lie again.

I'm in a similar, though different boat. I, too am looking, but I've jumped from the frying pan into the fire enough times in my life that for now, anyway, I'm better off with my current job and a small paycheck, than I am signing on with another big company at this time. ESPECIALLY since so many ex-MDI'ers are now going to be looking, as well. I'm my sole support, and it would be dumb of me to make a move like that without thinking it through.

So you can't just sit there in your own, obviously-satisfactory situation, and tell everyone they should be just like you. Not everyone IS you. Not everyone has the luxury (nor the impulsiveness) to just bail at the first sign of a blip in the workload. It happens sometimes, in ALL corners of MT. When I read their posts about lack of work, because it happened just as summer was getting underway, I assumed it was the usual summer slowdown I see at my own job. SO you can't go saying these MTs are wrong to blame someone other than themselves. They, like most of the rest of us, are hard-working MTs who were lucky enough, for a while, to have a company they actually felt some loyalty to.

Your post was self-righteous and rude.
You guys are a trip--I never said management...

posts ALL of the positive posts.  What I said was that they do post at times.  My God--why does people have to be so confrontational.  I posted what I know and believe happens SOMETIMES, not every time.  Get it??  There is a difference.  Everyone needs to stop judging people for their experiences.  Like I said before, I enjoy my job at Transcend for the most part, but I do believe that management screens this board very carefully, which (like I said before) is a good thing.  At least they know where we are coming from.

We don't want 2 shoot U now!
Sounds like you've been thru it! Good luck away from those people...yuck.
Shoot me an E here then
.
IMO, trip to trade show sure not worth having to
nm
Well shoot me....didn't know
Like I said...I have never been here before and I DIDN'T KNOW.  So I apologize for whomever I offended, freaked out, whatever.  I didn't come on here to be attacked.  I have enough stress as it is.  I came to ask a simple question and I didn't KNOW I did anything wrong.  Can you back off now?
A crap shoot
Trust nothing from Spheris. You could luck out and get a decent manager and account, but it's a crap shoot. I don't have enough time, energy, or room to describe that circus. I can't believe most of them can sleep at night. Certainly you could find a few nice people and accounts to make your life tolerable, but suffice it to say, the culture is atrocious. I don't believe I ever received a straight answer from anyone in that place about anything of an important nature, and usually, the inquiries are just blatantly ignored. They could give a rip about the quality that goes to the client which made me crazy. Everyone is managed en masse. The platform I worked on was friendly. I can say that.
Shoot for at least 13-16 min an hour so you get at least...
$15 an hour. I make $19 to $25 an hour. It took me time to get to that amount and I had to get used to the account and set up my shortcuts, etc. Believe me, those minutes add up fast. You would have to type about 230 lines an hour every hour to make that on 8 cpl.
well then shoot yourself in the foot!
I'm telling you, these people are as honest as they come. I see the problems posted here, but one never knows all the details behind the post either. My experience says they are great to work with.
The recruiter has to recover from the Hawaii trip. So exhausting! nm

A company full of people on a power trip!
Absolutely correct, as well as the fact that most people who move up in that company are totally unqualified butt-kissers.

Yep.
holy smokes .. shoot me!
I talk to people daily about transcription and I could not agree with you more .. what a sad state for professionalism.  You could be in the cellar transcribing in your undies, but I do not need to know this and most of the hard working MTs out there who daily do make a difference are offended by the visual.  Working remotely is not a given, but it is a boon to people with children, with disabilities, with limited access to a strong job market.  It does not mean that you do not take what you do seriously and that you give it your best.  I am so fortunate where I am to have a great team of people who work hard, turn around good work, keep their end of the bargain we make, and appreciate that they have a great situation and respect themselves for having achieved a great account, good pay, good feedback and employee status with good rates and benefits that are very affordable.  My intention is to keep it that way and thank heavens mostly I have my wits about me and choose carefully and well.  Our MTs are professionals and we thank our lucky starts for them each and every day.  The interesting thing is that I think that a recommendation for someone to come to work with you is the most sincere form of flattery and while we add to our ranks, I am getting so many referrals from our own MTs.
It's basically a crap shoot, IMO

It sounds like you have a good impression of both companies, but the one seems to be more organized than the other.  Go with your gut.  I find that's a tactic that usually works well for me.

Good luck.  Hope whichever one you choose you end up liking it there.

Business trip to Vegas makes absolute sense
I agree  with the above poster.  Management told us in an e-mail that the new accounts coming aboard were clients who pursued TT.  Being that TT has a major account in Las Vegas,  ... now another potential client in the same area.  I have seen this happen many times with services I have worked for.  It is called word of mouth and not that unusual to get clients this way.
They are so busy! I would shoot Deb or Wendy an email
nm
The recruiter was on vacation last week. Maybe shoot
s
Shoot, I wanted them to start picketing SM

outside the hospital and telling all the patients their work is going overseas - then I want them to find out the hospital has contracted with a service using only domestic help.

They've been sheltered in the hospital's arms for so long, they thing outsourcing means offshoring.  Come join us in the real world, dears, you have much to learn!

Didn't that TransTech email about them going to Vegas and us POOR MT's paying for that trip ju

rub us struggling MT's when she sent out that email to us.  She didn't say how many went to LV -- just bye . . . we're off!

Enjoy the light of the Dictaphone flashlight begging for a job for you, while we enjoy the lights of Vegas !

YUK !  Totally irritated this TT MT.  Sickening, in fact.

Let me check my paperwork and I'll shoot you an email. NM

Shoot scuse my typos...tired...bad docs...long day...

How do I access MQ Internet mail? I'm registered on Q-Net but don't see any e-mail thingie the
nm
I didn't get the e-mail but I just sent you one and gave you my e-mail addy so (sm)

you could manually type it in and resend me the info.  Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks.

Yes - regular mail and my reg mail stinks, so let them know.

The MTs can't get out of there quick enough.
Keep looking!
Don't be too quick..
I know a lot of QA people that are not consistent including the ones that trained me. One person can say one thing in one month, and the same person will say something else the next month. It's not always the MT ya know
Very quick!

RUN - away - quick!
RUN AWAY
you are just too quick to....
point your finger, AND this is not gossip as I, along with others, went through the same thing. OP was just asking a simple question and your cocky answer was not called for. So I say it again, GROW UP!!
It's all about quick TAT sm
The TATs are tight so the accounts have to be staffed 24/7, and more people are working on the accounts keeping them caught up. The work is steady on my internet account, but it is always very current with very little backlog but the work is there. I've been at MDI for 4 years, cleared for all work types on my accounts, and have 5 accounts I can work on although only consistently work on 2. I have a friend who started recently. On her account, she was not cleared for all work types, and she does have trouble getting her lines. She doesn't want a backup account yet.
Quick, quick
I testing and applied with them and got a phone call from Bonnie Monaco within 2 hours of submitting everything.
Thanks for your quick response!
x
so dont be so quick to THINK you know
what happened. anyway, don't worry about what I will or will not do.
Thanks for the quick responses! s/m
I can't find anything else at all. Don't know if this would help me gain exp though for medical transcription.

Where is the work at home mom's board???

Thanks again :-)
Transcribe it Quick
I was wondering if anyone had heard back from Transcribe It Quick or has worked for them before.  They posted on the job board on 05/09 for per diem transcriptionists.  I received a phone call from a very nice woman who was the owner of the company.  She told me she wanted to hire me, told me all the specifics, welcomed me to the company, etc. and she even had me register with the site and download their player.  She was supposed to call me back that night, and I haven't heard word one back from her.  It sounded like a great job opportunity with great pay.  I called and left a message on her answering machine and I still haven't heard anything.  I thought it was really strange, and I was wondering if anyone had received a phone call back from her and was offered a job.
Thanx for the quick reply!
TY
Do you want quick or accurate?
Why go to a board like this for a question to do with your company's benefits? Actually, you would probably get a pretty quick answer by e-mailing your HR rep, and it would have a much higher probability of being correct!
Quick Question - sm
Which forum on MTStars is the best one to visit if you're interested in learning about obtaining private accounts - tried-and-true methods, platforms to choose, etc.?  TIA!
quick to defend too
vv
Please, quick info regarding....sm
Medical Transcription Services in Wisconsin -- sent me a letter regarding a new radiology account coming on board, would really love to take it (love rad), but I cannot find much about them AT ALL.  Thanks in advance!
Why are people so quick...
to think that lack of work is the sign that a company is *bad*. There is such a thing as TAT. Anyone in this field knows that at times it is feast or famine. I have no problem making my lines during the pay period, even when volume is low; it's called being flexible with my schedule. I do what I have to do, still have my days off and still make decent paychecks.
thanks, another quick question-
do they supply computer/equipment?
I got a quick response, but
they only had 3rd shift available.  I took a few days and then responded saying that I would be able to work the shift, then the recruiter told me she would contact me to discuss the position.  That was 2 weeks ago, and I still have not heard anything.  I'm also very experienced, with 99.5% QA or better.  Very weird . .
