If D&L does not pay their MTs why on earth are they allowed to post here continually?

initials here.  Their website might give some insight.  The CEO and his brother own the company, but CEO is active in the company and he doesn't know his rear end from a whole in the ground and is motivated by GREED.  He just kinds of plays it by ear as he goes and after talking with him you feel like you need hip boots and a shower.

I got so frustrated, I was continually
we would sever the relationship and I would not be responsible for paying them the $125 for the computer.  Haven't got my last check from them yet, so it might be $125 short.  Go figure.  Will keep you posted.  I was having headaches and chest pains when I worked for them.  The day after I quit, all that went away. 
I have been with MQ Amherst now for 3 weeks and have continually run out of work. I know this has
been hashed out on here many times but my question is does anyone expect this problem to ever get resolved or should we simply expect to keep running out of work at Amherst forever. I know when they call me about the new pay plan and tell me it is incentive based I plan to tell them they better make sure we have work or their plan is a joke. What can I expect with this office and what can be done to correct it. I dont plan to have to work 8 accounts to get my lines in and have them QA me on accounts I have never done besides. If this problem is long standing and unlikely to be resolved it is time to either get out of that office or get out of MQ so I would like some good ideas and comments on this. We know it exists but what is the next step.
I notice that Transtech is continually hiring. Are they growing that fast or are they
overhiring?  Should I be concerned by this or apply?  How are they to work for?  Any input is greatly appreciated.

Not knowing the OP, I would not presume to say whether or not he/she is one of the MTs referred to in my previous post but it might be a good idea to at least give her the benefit of the doubt ya think?

I've been working weekends for 10 years and seven days a week for 3 years. I'm about ready just to tell the office I'm not doing it anymore - I did my time. If they want to fire me, fine. It's totally ridiculous to be horsewhipped this way. No other profession on earth is forced to work 24/7 the way we are with no days off, no vacation time, nothing ever! - even doctors and nurses get SOME time off, or rotate weekends so they can have some kind of a life. Sheez, even indentured servants and house help in Medieval Europe got one day off every two weeks! SOMETHING to look forward to - some kind of a rest!

So yeah, your message really hit a nerve today:) Believe me, you are not alone. When the heck are we going to organize and stop letting ourselves be bullied by these slavedrivers?

Go to their web wite, read the second paragraph. It says:

Creating a new way of getting IT done. Faster, cheaper – and yes, even better.

That tells you what they think of American MTs. Why would any American MT work for them?

SS is the abolute worst company on the face of the earth.

The sound quality of their files is horrendous, their dictators are mostly ESL and the absolute worst ESLs I've ever done and I do ESL all the time and am very good at them usually.  I found their platform very time consuming, tech support wasn't very good, QA was an absolute joke.    If you take this job you can forget the coffee, you'll need Valium.   If you read through the achives there are many posts stating basically the same thing so it wasn't just me.  There are even a couple of posts where people decided to take positions against the advice of many of us and they have come back and apologized that they lasted only a month or two and we were right, that it was the absolute worst company out there.  

I don't know anything about the other company.  I don't know if they are a new company or have changed names because I've only seen them mentioned on here a couple of times.

Poor MTs? I am taxpayer just like anyone else and I am not poor. BTW, will not make 50K as I do not work fulltime. I have taken up for the company before but, not anymore as people tend not to believe you and want to say you are management so people can think what they want and we will just keep it at that. Besides, don’t you have to get back to being a rah-rah cheerleader for all those poor MTs or is this the time for you to turn all nasty on them again like you just did, when yesterday or the day before? You remember, when people were asking you about how were you giving advice, being retired, getting husband's pension and the motorhome?

I don't get how ICs are allowed in MT anyway.

Aren't we as MTs providing the key activity of the business? Also, none of the IC contracts I have had ever specified a length of time. We as MTs are contracted for an indefinite amount of time. These 2 things to me make it seem like all MTs should be classified as employees and we should not be having to pay additional self-employment taxes.

Pretty soon, everything is becoming so politically correct, we won't be allowed to use the word Christmas anymore. Maybe they were insulted - you should have sent a holiday card instead.

But, no - I don't think I've seen a Christmas card or bonus in years. Boy, in the good old days at MQ, a few years back, we actually used to have Christmas parties - imagine that!

they never allowed me to test
They just called me asking how much experience I have. I guess it was not enough for them to allow me to test. There seem to be a lot of those. They want a lot of experience, but what about those MTs who can pass with flying colors and never be given a chance. grrrrrr!
Deductions are still allowed
Even if you are on employee status, you can still take deductions for your at-home office. I didn't think so either until my accountant told me that absolutely, you still can. It isn't as much as if you are totally self employed, but there are still quite a few allowed. The best of both worlds is statutory employee. That means you do not pay both sides of the SS Tax but you still send in quarterlies. This way, you can take all deductions for your home office, etc. Hope this clarifies it a bit better.

Irrc, when I used to work in meditech, I used to copy/paste from WORD  into my personal Expander then expanded it into Meditech ... The use of ShortHand was compatible.

It's been about 5 years, but my recollection is that SOME versions of Meditech incorporate WORD as an overlay and so things are compatible ... other versions (cheaper/smaller companies) do not, and so direct copyd/paste is not compatible.

The problems are embedded codes in regular word documents.  copy/pasting into my expanded eliminated apparently removed the embedded codes ... I recall my copy/paste file in Shorthand was named Kinko for just that process.
