Are you off all major holidays or do you have to have them approved and how many weeks paid vacation do you get?

Does Axolotl offer a flexible schedule?

nm

Flexible schedule
This comes up a lot, but you have to look at it from their point of view. You are an employee and therefore expected to work a scheduled shift. They can't have their MTs signing on and working whenever they please they have to know the accounts are covered. Hey, if that's the worst thing we can say about them, then that's a really good thing. They really are worth giving up a weekend and 3 holidays a year for all the benefits of being a Transtech MT. I've worked for several companies, including some of the big boys, none can compare to TransTech. I'll be with them until I retire.
flexible schedule
MDI of Maryland allows a 24-hour window to do whatever lines you commit to.  I work for them and have a flexible schedule.  Phone 301-921-2006.  Tell them you want to get in touch with Carlotta.
if they have the flexible schedule you want, then
you sound like you're just out here to pitch MDI-MD.
Flexible schedule at Transtech? sm
How flexible is the scheduling at Transtech?  I'm interested in the weekend position but would need lots of flexibility...Thanks!
Flexible schedule on my account.....

Company with flexible schedule

I'm an MT with 6+ years of acute care experience and a mom of 4.  I love working at night when kids are in bed.  I like the company I work for but they are starting to get very picky about working the assigned schedule.  I received a call today stating that if was not going to be typing for a 5 minutes or more I am to log out.  The problem is that I don't know how long it will take to calm down an upset child or lookup a new medication for the report I'm working on.

So the bottom line is that I need a company that will be flexible with my schedule.  I would really llike to find a company that hires ICs.  So is there anyone out there that works for a company who offers a flexible schedule? I,m willing to run out of work occasaionlly and I love working at night and on the weekend.  I would even take a pay cut to get a company that will work with me.

Thanks,

Mariah

Really? Are they hiring? I need a flexible schedule...

It just means you have a flexible schedule,
as long as all accounts are covered when they need to be, you can change your schedule around. Where I work we have that also, we just submit each week when we will be working.
8 cpl to start, 8.5 cpl when off QA. Flexible schedule. Use ExText. nm

Pay on time? Flexible schedule? Decent accounts?

Companies with flexible 12-hour window schedule
What companies offer a flexible schedule where your work can be completed within a 12-hour window?
Acute and/or clinic work? Set schedule or flexible hours? Thank you! nm

Why would anyone what to work for practically nothing. I make 5 cpl editing, flexible schedule etc.
As long as they can get people to take those ridiculous wages that is what they will offer. Your an IC so you have no benefits, thus they do not have much of an overhead and you can bet they are getting a whole heck of a lot more cpl than they are offering their MTs.. but I guess that is the only reason they are in business... to make a huge profit. Unfortunately, at YOUR expense. What a sad day... 1.5 cpl..
Need good small company to work for with flexible schedule - e-mail me.nm

Does Advanced Transcription in Oregon offer flexible shifts? Do you have to do set schedule? NM
nm
DSG is awesome-pay on time, management is great, plenty of work, flexible schedule. nm

Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

Axolotl information
Does anyone know anything about this company?  Also, does anyone know anything about Transcription Connections from Lynchburg, Ohio?  I can't find anything anywhwere about them, but the owner sent me a very nice e-mail.  Thanks, everyone...I'm looking hard to get away from MQ...
Axolotl, any new information??
I see that the benefits start after 30 days, does anyone have any info about them, are they good??  How expensive?  Any  more info out there about the accounts being mostly ESL??  I'm just thinking about applying right now, just tired of spending time testing only to find out it wasn't really worth my time!
Axolotl--An new information out there on them.
Platform, accounts, pay, benefits, schedules etc?? Just hoping someone has any current information. Thanks in advance
Any new information on Axolotl? Seems as though people were sm

singing their praises awhile back.  I was just wondering -- is everyone still happy?  Are the line rates good? Plenty of work?  Good benefits?   It is hard to find a company nowadays that are willing to pay a decent line rate.  They may want tons of experience (I have 30+ years), but then offer a line rate that I would hesitate to take even as a newbie.  Quality work deserves quality pay. :-)

Any information on Axolotl testing?
Does anyone have information on the testing process for Axolotl? I understand there is a medical terminology test, grammar test, and transcription test. Do you know if the transcription test can be taken using the foot pedal for start, stop, rewind, etc.? Also, are these tests timed?

Thank you in advance!
Information on axolotl the salamander.
The axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) is a large salamander native to Mexico. It has external gills, regenerative powers, and can live and breed in a larval form. The name is derived from the Aztec god Xolotl, the god of games who could turn himself into an axolotl to escape his enemies. Because axolotls can regenerate legs, tails, heart muscles, and even spinal cords, researchers have long studied them in hopes of learning how to restore diseased heart tissue or damaged or amputated limbs in humans.

Transhealth editors? Anyone with information on pay, work schedule, benefits, platform
I would appreciate any information before taking their test without knowing the scoop.  Thanks!
Can't because it is ** fixed ***

Don't know what the problem is at Transtech now, but not the same as when I was hired on -- ability to achieve a good line count has become quite impossible. One of the reasons is due to decent dictators going to voice recognition, but there are other reasons.

I don't like the fact that we are BLOCKED from CTRL I from seeing our previous reports and from getting our immediate line counts. We are also not ever permitted to see a list of jobs that we have finished/sent -- not in ExText, nor on our our paystubs -- not even the number of lines on our paystubs, just ** piece work **. Very hard to verify that we are getting paid for every line!

as of about three weeks ago the had not fixed anything
ugh!!!!!
How flexible is flexible? A window of time? nm
.
1000 lines discrepancy needs to be fixed.
nm
i had this problem; never got it fixed and quit to move on. sm
at the time i knew of another person with the problem too and neither one of us was getting it solved. it's something with your computer, not actual pedal.
Yes, but do you have an accurate way to count those lines? Has TT fixed
nm
They want you to keep your schedule for TAT purposes but will work with you to find a good schedule
I love working there.
Ok. I could handle once as a mistake if explained promptly and fixed. Twice? I would run sm
as fast as I could. Twice in two months? What if you never get paid at all? You would be better going with a national while getting your own so that you have benefits and a steady paycheck. Start your own accounts slowly so that you start right.
fixed by January, I was told. I love my boss. Maybe you sm
were not a great employee! Ever thought of that?
If you read in their FAQ section, fixed headers and footers are NOT counted as well as bolding, un-

You're -- not your okay typos fixed -- irritates me about you pregnant girls getting wonderfu
benefits from TT.
I actually switched from a M-F schedule to a S-T schedule...sm
because of the financial situation.  I was offered a lot better money to work this schedule on a particularly picky account.  I can live with working on Sunday evenings because that is when my 2 teenage kids, also very active in sports, band, church, driving, dating, social life, etc., etc., are vegging on the couch, relaxing for the evening before it all starts again.  It was worth the sacrifice to me to be able to afford all the activities, and it really is not much different than working the M-F shift.  I do have Fridays off to kind of catch my breath while the kids are at school or go and take care of business.  I do not feel I have given up any of my life to work on Sundays.  Most companies will be flexible on the schedule for Sunday because of church, family dinner, whatever.  The way I look at it is later on, I may be able to switch to a M-F schedule if I am willing to give a little now.  Even if I don't, to me it was worth it for the extra money and mommy time I get on Fridays.  I am widowed so I do put a lot of time into my kids.  This is just what works for me.  On the other hand, it is ok to only want to work M-F, there is nothing wrong with that.  You have to do what is best for you.
Anyone know anything about Global Information Systems? Any information would be appreciated. nm

MedScribe Information Systems, Inc - Information please?

Anyone with information on this company?

How flexible are they? sm

How flexible are they with scheduling.  If something comes up in the middle of a shift or you need to make an appointment during that time, can you come on before or stay after your shift if you let them know ahead of time?  What if you are 15 minutes late, do you have to call in or just work an extra 15 minutes over? TIA

Flexible
I know they require a schedule but is there any flexibility in that schedule, such as a window of time within your scheduled hours?
Not any more, but they are flexible.
a
They are very flexible
I have been there for 5 months, and they have been more than flexible with me. If I ever need time off, I can just make it up on another day so as not to lose any lines, and they have absolutely no problems with that. There is life insurance and supplemental insurance through Aflac.
They have always been VERY flexible with me
Yes, you do have to wait a year to get your paid vacation time, which I have finally just reached, but if I have ever needed time off in the past, they have never had a problem with me switching my schedule around or just plain taking days off. I do well over the required line count, so this has never been a problem for me. Good luck in whatever you decide!
How Flexible? sm

I think it's totall cool that y'all are doing this.  Our industry doesn't ever go out of its way to help us when docs dictate horribly (the low-talkers, the noisy room, the one who spells simple words the entire report, etc., etc.), but it sure isn't that way in most every other occupation (even nursing, for example).  So while we need to collectively stand up for ourselves and stop accepting such ridiculousness, it's survival, sanity, and everything else to work PT jobs.

From what I've read over time, it sounds like many/most of these PT jobs are where the MT clearly makes her own hours.  Am I terribly off-base here?  Just curious.

I, too, have my ins. covered by my hubby, so am interested in these posts.  Of course, I'm also really tired of the line counts and all at the Q.

Thanks for all this input.

she is NOT all that flexible...maybe for you she is..sm
Pay is low....on those Editscript accounts you will get about 80% VR and she deals with MANY companies, many of them who deal with India.  What reallly got to me was her wanting a schedule from the MT as an IC....a STRICT schedule.
Flexible hours
you can pretty much set up your own hours (after training) with Spheris.  I work  a split shift through the week which accommodates my home life and I enjoy the time I have with my husband and children.  I still get in my 40 hours per week, OT from time to time, but if you exceed your line count per day, OT not really necessary.  Sometimes OT is mandatory, but this is very rare.  I have a super who is A1 and have never had a problem when asking for a bit of time off (of course, I make sure to schedule additional time if I am able to).
Flexible Hours?

Can anyone give me an idea of what companies offer the most flexible hours?  I can work fulltime, but my hours must vary slightly week to week.  I will always get my time in, but I am not able to commit to 9-5 or any "set" schedule.  I have 3 children and their schedules tend to change often.  Thanks.  I have 3 years of experience.

Flexible schedules
Amphion Medical Solutions: You can say you will work 5 hours a day, or 20 hours a week, but that is about as vague as they can tolerate. Contact HR@amphionmedical.com
pretty flexible
I've found them to be pretty flexible, so long as you put in at least 35 hours a week.  I was just saying in some other thread that I can knock off two hours early if I want so long as the hours all balance out at the end of the week.

If you're wondering about clocking in and out for breaks, it's really to your benefit to do that, as you'll get a better line count.
They also seem fairly flexible. sm
I was quite impressed with what they had to say and they are the best offer I've had since I started looking around 3 months ago.

Thanks again.
