Lists and lists and lists of offshore MT companies and
some from here on that emply the offshore MTs. Not to mention all the wonderful things AAMT is doing over there.
Maybe it was just directed to the people on specific accounts or a specific software platform. nm
nm
addresses
I also have to search rosters for docs and addresses and do not get paid for it. I have a list. I have thought about it many times. I guess it is part of the job but it would be nice if we could just type. I do get paid for all templates.
addresses
I forgot to say I do not work for MDI
About email addresses...
I like to see if someone has a personality and I enjoy the cutesy email addy's to brighten my day and try to figure out what some stand for. I, too, am a recruiter and yes QUITE A BIT MORE LAID BACK! I hire based on qualifications on the resume not whether the email address is cutesy or not. I should hope all recruiters do. Sometimes you need a little chuckle during the day and not all business!! I feel those recruiters who are like that are sooo boring. I have had a lot of luck with the people have hired and they enjoy speaking to me because I am not UPTIGHT!!
True. Another way is to log IP addresses.
These companies know your IP address when you are working and they can log those addresses when you log into webinars, online courses, meetings, etc.

I cannot say that I blame them, though. There are ways you want to verify who is really in attendance in this virtual world.

It is foolish for anyone to think that you can completely hide from your employer.

Yes, but they don't know posters email addresses. The only way
they would know is if the poster replied back to them.
I say have the administrator check the IP addresses
That's the only way to know for sure!!  Can you do that, administrator??
are you adding your names/addresses into
your abbreviation file so you don't have to look up the same name/address twice? That is what I do. With an MD with multiple locations, I will name it something like SmithDown for Dr. Smith, Downtown or JonesLake for Dr. Jones at Lake Forest. You would still have to cut and paste some in the cc field or you might ask operations if there is a way to build a spreadsheet document and add to it as you come across new names/addresses.
Help! I lost all my TT email addresses (sm)

because I had to get a new computer.

Can anybody send me a list BY EMAIL PLEASE for all the group 3 emails?

They definitely had a F BBB rating within this year but I see now that they changed addresses.
I cant imagine why they would want to change addresses, maybe hoping that they would look like a new and different company to the BBB and others. Same stuff different day.
Also doctor lists
They can be a nightmare
Black Lists?

No, I don't believe there is such a thing. Then, do companies talk to each other about former employees? Yes, sometimes that happens. It's simply the course of doing business. It's called a network and often called checking your references.

As for recruiters not knowing each other, at any given AAMT meeting there will be 5 to 20 companies exhibiting, each with their recruiter there. Of course they get to know each other. It is, again, about networking.

I am curious, though. If MTs can create a blacklist for companies, what would be wrong with employers doing it??

Tons of lists, etc.
yes, and it seems like a lot of paperwork, wondering if I should go ahead with this company or not! What do you think? amj
It looks like 2 different lists, 2 different schedules.

Schedule 3.13(a) hereto contains a complete and accurate list of all employees (including statutory employees) of the Company who for the year ending March 31, 2009 were paid annual aggregate compensation in excess of $35,000, showing the position, annual base salary and bonus potential for each such employee.

Purchaser shall continue the services of the employees of the Company following the Closing except for the individuals listed on Schedule 6.11 hereof who shall be terminated at or shortly following the Closing.

It appears that there are going to be some that are terminated at or following the closing.  Is that tomorrow or January 1, 2010?

And how many addresses & names you look at, your kids, lawnmower noise, etc. nm

Just this month alone, I have turned in the addresses & phone numbers (sm)
of two different British scammers to Yahoo, who were trying to get me to send them money.

And in December it was the South Africans. Got a bunch more from India and Singapore last fall.
Do they have an ad up somewhere? Many places on old lists aren't around any more. nm

Portability of expander lists

When you switch platforms, it raises the question about portability. You don't want to lose the work you put into making your list(s).

One solution is using Instant Text. The glossaries that come with IT, the ones you create with IT, and the lists you import to IT from other Expander programs, can be used in most platforms you may type in.

Marianne

I don't blame you. We have personal information on those resumes, addresses, phone, etc. (sm)
and any fool can access those.

Hopefully they learned their lesson on this and will not post anymore resumes like that.
I'm linking to page w/company lists (sm)

I have heard of managers etc who have taken lists of employees
for their company when they left and contacted them announcing that they were with the new company and telling them to write them if they were interested in positions.

It definitely IS unethical but yes it does happen.

Someone who values their name in this industry would not do this. People do not want to work for someone who resorts to underhanded tactics. Too many people do this. Those who care about the business practices of any company or manager would not condone this. Just ask yourself this question, if they would do that, would they hesitate to give out personal information of the MTs who they have done this to? I personally think if they are unethical in one area, they would be in another. I would avoid any company or person that would do this.
And a lot of the lists are made up of companies that pay to be on the list. sm
I think your best bet is to either go with someone who is well known or go with a small company if you know someone who works there.
Wonderful company, but you type letters and look up addresses and you do not get paid for spaces nm

...mentioned - faxes and patient lists and rules to

..NM up there. Lists aren't always in high traffic areas

Wow, years ago. Are they still in existence? Some places with lists of MT services are extremely

Some company lists have been around a long time, so lots of places

Own'er's profile lists degrees in plastics engineering.
Gotta love all the knowledge in medical transcription he brings to the table.
Current Amphion employee...I'm very happy. The part of Amphion I work with has no faxes, lists,s
minor demographic work..superb QA and feedback.  Fellow MTs on same account are more than willing to help and now they also have mentor program.  My pay is what they said.  They do have different pay for different levels.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. sm

Mostly, just the usual -- are you happy there?  Would you recommend it to your friends?  Pay on time?  Work flow consistent?

Thanks!

More specific please- MS in NJ or FL? nm
.
Can you be more specific on what you'd like to know? sm
Good benefits (PTO, pd holidays, life, medical, dental insurance); good amount of work available (except this week has been slow on some accounts); they provide equipment (you do pay deposit, returned at time of leaving); direct deposit, always on time pay; easy to use platform (but you need high speed Internet); good training and I LOVE my manager (responsive to emails and phone calls, doesn't micromanage me).

Weak spot would be tech support (depends who you get).
Can you be more specific? nm

Were they at all specific about SM

what they meant when they said typing skills?  That is so vague.

You need to be more specific, such as ....

Employee status or IC?

Benefits?

Work type?

Set schedule?

Okay, but that's not very specific (sm)
I guess I should have asked for all opinions happy and otherwise. If you work for Webmedx, would you mind telling what has been the problem?
Can you be more specific?
Turns out they are not hiring for a month or two anyway!
Sorry, I should have been more specific.sm
MDI MTs will be getting a call in October/November and will find out then what the offer is.
TT..please be more specific about platform..sm
You say you like the co...please tell me what kind of platform you work on and are you able to increase your line count using the platform easily? Good incentives?
Yes, they do. Maybe your specific experience
does not match up with the positions they have available right now?

Can you be more specific? This doesn't help at all. nm
nm
I don't know about these specific companies
Ablescribe in the mid-TN region and they are hiring. Pretty simple work, a nursing home same 4 or 5 docs and a lot of the same patients daily too. My sis works there and loves it.

I am from TN too!

ablescribe.com, I believe.
could you be more specific on what you love so much about it?
nm
Ask about specific companies. (NM)
Goldbird

Could the replies be more specific
I am considering them also and would like more substantial information than vague statements.  That is no help at all.  Please if anybody has any experience with them or works for them, please I would also like to know how they are.
Could you be a little more specific? Your post
completely... too many metaphors. Not a lot has happened at my end, but who's to say other people have heard other things. What finally prompted you to jump ship, other than the obvious India-based thing?
This is when you turn over specific
examples to your supervisor and get some answers. I would keep a record of every inconsistency and send them in.
Cannot name specific accounts.

specific answers ..
hi ..

1. Does the ShortHand Expander work on DocQScribe?

not sure .. pretty sure it does.

2. How easy is the platform to learn?

very ... just use keyboard commands instead of mouse

3. How easy is the platform to navigate around when you are in a report -- and are there a lot of steps to saving, sending, etc?

I find it easy and there are not a lot of steps ..

4. Can you look up prior patient reports?

no

5. Can you make your own templates?

You have to put them in the expander and it depends on company policy; they do not want cut and paste as it can affect formatting on client end

6. How is the spellchecker?

okay

7. Can a fast typist make good line counts?

yes .. friend does over 300

8. Is the line count mechanism accurate?

mine has been when I checked it

From my experience, it is a great system.

I too lost production but I started using it but that has been true for me with any windows-based program I have worked on ..
give me back my DOS and WP .. .that is when I used to make good money .. LOL

good luck to you .. you will be fine

PS - However, The speech recognition of MQ (ASR) is terrible unless you have really great dictators.
