Jennifer a SHAM??

Posted By: GO AWAY on 2005-09-09
In Reply to: Heartland - Domestic Team No More? - Worried HIS MT

The so called "recruiter" Jennifer is leaving, however, with all the emails flying around at work it has been found out that she made a bonus of $50.00 to $150.00 per MT she hired if they stayed FOR MORE THAN A FEW weeks. She told us all a bunch of crap just so she could make money FOR HER AND NOT THE MT. She is now going to be recruiter for another transcription vendor!!!! Watch out, she apparently told us all what we wanted to hear SO SHE COULD MAKE MONEY and now she is selling us out!!! Hope not to hear from her ever again!

SHAM JOB POSTING - they already have replacement

Such a shame. So many sham artists.
are out this time of year because business is slow, and people are looking for a bright new start for the new year. I would say be careful of anything new on the boards listing for a job. I know we see the same postings all of the time, and may not want to opt for those, but waiting a few weeks until the real job postings hit will be a safer bet. There are tons of established companies out there and best to just look them up on the web. Be careful! More than 1 Scrooge out there looking to swindle... Happy Holidays!
Bad things on the horizon. Wating for the other shoe to drop. A sham indeed,
Indeed. :(

Forgive me if I am missing something, but are you saying that Landmark does interviews for market research? I thought they were a small transcription company on the East Coast. I know a couple of people who worked there and they never said anything about market research. Maybe it's not the same company.....?
Jennifer
I had am just curious, why are they hiring for acute care in the summer and not now? (I know someone leaving the Q who could be interested. He hopes to leave the Q ASAP.) Thanks in advance if you can provide any info! Would it matter that the applicant lived in California?
Jennifer
Thanks. It just seems kind of strange that an MT company does market research interview transcription, but maybe they have a broader client base than other MTSOs. Anyway, thanks for the info.
Jennifer
Thanks, I see. It still seems like kind of a strange thing for a MT company to transcribe but whatever, I suppose. Good luck on your job search.
Jennifer's last day is this week.

Does anyone know where Jennifer from Heartland went?
TIA
Thanks Jennifer and Krissy!
Looks like I'm not the only MT who likes our company!

I'm sure there's more than one Jennifer in the world.

Jennifer - Please read
I think the mods might delete your post because it gives a specific name and company, but before it disappears I had to tell you, been there/done that with W of WS and yes indeedy, she is a piece of work, lol!!!! If you've survived HER, you can survive ANYTHING :-)
The 2 ads on JS by Jennifer S of Horizon Employment

I've tried to find a website for this company, which it probably should have being that they are nationwide.  Nada.

They don't even have their own domain name for email, which is kind of odd for a business.

Something isn't right.  In fact, when I try to find a phone number, any info at all, nada.

Please be careful with those 2 ads.  JMHO

Jennifer Poole's Company
Even though I did not apply I applaude the company that Jennifer Poole had an ad for.  Long gone are the small, locally owned businesses offering IC status, flexibility, no line quotas and reward those that work!!  Imagine all of the above:)  Wow!  Congrats to those that did apply and were offered a job with them.  I hope others take a look at this.  See from the most recent post....positions already taken.  Evidently that is what a lot of us are looking for these days.  I hope we see the pros and cons of this company in the future.
Jennifer, I'm suggesting Spheris. SM
Only because you need experience and you can get it there. The pay will be awful, but they have a system for training people, with mentors every step of the way and on-line courses and sample reports. You could work there for 6 months or so, to get your feet wet. Or hands wet! LOL!

Again, I'm only suggesting this company for anyone who needs experience.

They used to require several years of experience for acute care, but, at this point, they are taking anyone. Give them a try.

Jennifer, you are not alone. I worked as a staff employee when they
were Healthscribe, and I can tell you this - and I will swear to it in a court of law and on a Bible - and can show the proof should it ever come to that - they alter the lines. So say for instance, you get a 14 minute H&P and it comes out to let's say three pages. Whereas, a normal line count might be - just for the sake of argument let's say 100 lines to make it easy - Healthscribe/Spheris would credit the Transcriptionist about 90 lines. If a transcriptionist sent a report to QA, after so many reports, QA would start to dock lines from the transcriptionist.

The accounts were very, very difficult. I worked in the relations aspect of the company, if the client had any complaints or problems, I dealt with them. The accounts were basically the hospitals that no one even wanted to work in - inner city hospitals with lots of foreigners dictating.

I had to deal with the offshoring accounts and transcriptionists in the US that had to retype or edit - however you wish to put it - very very frustrating - won't even delve into it.

Jennifer, I realize that you are new in this field, but there has got to be a better place for you to learn and get your feet wet. Have you tried your local hospital or clinic in your area? Try a small company instead of a national. Smaller companies might have more of a mentoring side to their company, nicer accounts, easier to deal with. I hope this helps. Good luck
Jennifer.... How are you telling people where to work

when down below you were asking questions about where to work, how to get a job, you seem to know an awful lot for someone asking questions.  What is up with that??

Thank you Jennifer - in turn - I think you get better quality work - less blanks! nm
