24-hour turnaround
I'm new to transcription. I currently work (at home) for a local hospital. Are there any companies that you can work for as an employee with a 24 hour turn around or something similar rather than a scheduled shift? I need employee status so I can have benefits. Thanks in advance for any replies.
Well as had been mentioned before MQ NE is looking for a 1 hour turnaround time so there is no way
any accounts will have work for the MTs and that is what they want to do. I think MQ is losing so many accounts they are trying to do these things to get more accounts plus I am sure cutting into the pay of MTs with their new pay plan when it comes out. With 1 hour turnaround time how can anyone get high production for any kind of incentive pay plan. No way in my book. You would be in a zillion accounts. Well, with MQ reputation and good MTs quitting, I hope this plan works for them.
Companies with 24-hour turnaround time

I know it has been has been posted here before, but I can't seem to find it. Is there a list of companies that have a 24-hour turnaround time for getting work back?

Also, a list of companies that use ExText or train on speech recognition? Thanks.

Sleep Medicine with 48 hour turnaround?

Does anyone know of any companies that specialize in Sleep Medicine with a 48 hour turnaround window?

Thanks,

Angie

I love MDI-MD, and you have a 24-hour turnaround time to get your work done. sm

I'm not sure if they have clinic work, though, but they might.

Good luck in your search!

Yeah, it seemed strange to me so I didn't do it. Also, they had a 24-hour turnaround time for the
test, not unheard of but seemed strange nonetheless.  No free work from me today.
24 hour TAT? For all accounts? nm
.
Why do MTs who are paid by the hour cherrypick the normals off accounts.

Line counts shouldn't be that important to them.

Are there any companies with accounts requiring just 24-hour turnarounds/no set schedules?nm
x
If you are doing 2400 lines in an 8 hour day, working 5 accounts +, running out of work on all 5,

then pray tell us how you are doing it.  I certainly would like to share this with MQ because I also have done this many years, know my work, and there is no way to do 2400 lines because most days all the accounts are out of work.

listening

Some do and have good accounts and fully loaded ESL accounts
Take a look at what is happening in India. For the first time, workers there have money to get themselves into debt by buying high priced items (cars for example). They now protest lower castes being allowed into universities at almost double the previous allowance. Wait until they are highly in debt, begin to feel entitled to a wage equal to that paid inthe US and then, try to form unions, get tossed out into the street and sit back with some Ben and Jerry ice cream and watch the economy collapse and all that dictation come back across the ocean. Timing is everything.
I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Good grief its just 1 hour more a day

If one more hour a day is really going to kill you, well, I feel bad for you.

I think the entitlement issues I'm seeing here are from long-time employees that are used to having things a certain way, and any change sends them up the wall.  But try to put this in perspective when you look at the chaos that other people are going through at other companies.

Seriously, working 40 hours to get benefits is pretty much universal in all industries.  Its not as unreasonable as y'all are making out.  When we acquired Chartmatrix, its what THEY were working to get benefits.  This is another leveling of the playing field that came with the merger.

I think though, that in this economy we are lucky to have jobs.  If our employer has to do away with a few perks, it beats a layoff or having the company close.  It certainly beats having our insurance become unaffordable.  I have no axe to grind because I still think Webmex is paradise compared to some of the places I've been.

My training was good. It was about an hour long and then I was sm
working. I love Keystrokes and I love the account I am on. Perhaps the account you were on had 2 ESL doctors come up first. The account I am on in first in, first out, so there are days that I get mostly ESLs and days that I get no ESLs.
$7/hour is pretty darn good, I was making
the MT inexperience, as the inexperienced is all they are able to hire. Seasoned MT's know better than to go there.
Is $15.00 an hour good pay for pathology transcriptionist at a LabCorp
with bennies, working in-house?
12 hour window on my accts - pay for acute good. (sm)
Work flow steady, weekend and shift differentials, OT offered at times.

I think things are different for some people depending on the TAT and specifics for their accounts.

Talk to a recruiter, they can give you much more info.

Is $15.00 per hour with excellent benefits good pay for a pathology transcriptionist
There is an ad in my local newspaper for this position, and I am considering applying.  It doesn't mention anything about incentive, so I doubt that there is any, but the way the transcription industry is going, I think this may be my best shot for the next 15 years.  As I turned 50 yesterday and looking to retire at 65.  They have pension plan and 401K with match, long and short term disability.
MDI-MD hires statutory employes, 24-hour window, and good pay. nm

Good luck.

Are you telling her to work for $5 an hour? That is not healthy or good advice nm
nm
Then be grateful you have good accounts, good MTs,
and a good system. Consider yourself lucky because most QA jobs aren't like that.
Good accounts. sm
They have both hospital and clinic/ERs.  I have encountered very, very, very few ESLs, okay, only one that comes to mind actually.  I do know they have a larger hospital account that has quite a few ESLs, as any hospital does these days.  I'm not on that account to give more specifics.    They have great accounts and are very flexible with your schedule and chosing your account.
My accounts are good
I have 2 accounts that keep me busy with both ASR and straight transcription. I have some ESL, but even the ESL dictators are pretty good.
I think you can get both good and bad accounts all over the US.
I have 2 west coast accounts. They both aren't too bad. In fact my hard west coast account is very comparible to my 2 east coast accounts (including my primary).

I think you can get both good and bad accounts all over the US.
I have 2 west coast accounts, and they are very similar to my 2 east coast accounts. In fact, my 1 west coast account seems easier than 1 of my east coast accounts :) I think it really just depends. I really enjoy all my accounts overall.
Turnaround Transcription-sm
Anyone working for them? I would like to know if it is difficult to get a decent line count with their system? And how difficult the ESLs are? What type of ESLs? Good people to work for? As in, do they let you work and don't bug you with faxes and memos? Thanks.
turnaround time
PeopleSupport gives you 24-hour
medgarde turnaround - I am
confused about turnaround time because I am reading up to 5 pm due 8 am.  What does that mean?  I will be getting work in up til 5 pm so at 5 pm if I am still getting work in I have to have that back at 8 the next day?  At 3 pm no later I am done for the day so please explain.  Thanks
Why The Complete Turnaround... NOW
?? at this point in time? The problem is, begging for work like this is humiliating. You have work today, how about tomorrow? Will they open the flood gates again?
Anyone work or know anything about TurnAround Transcription in CA? sm

The pay is gross line; however, a line is 72 characters.  Not sure if this is a good deal - I don't think so, but would like your input.

I am used to a gross line no longer than 65 characters.

They use MedRite - how is that platform?

That is Turnaround Time Transcription - sorry! nm

Turnaround Time Transcription? sm
Does anyone have any information about this company?  TIA
Maybe the time difference and turnaround?
xx
they use escription and have 3 hr turnaround OUCH
sounds really tight to me
Good luck. Are you on the Escription accounts?
I like it there.  I've had my moments there, but I haven't found anything better out there so I'm staying for the long haul.
Companies that have good orthopedic accounts.
If anyone knows of those companies which offer ortho, could you please email me privately if you don't want to post on the forum. Thanks.
Turnaround Time Transcription, Inc., any info???
nm
Good dictators end up on ASR so it can only get worse. My accounts are all picked over.
:
enjoy it there. good accounts. steady work.
xx
I have no real headaches. Sometimes they want a faster turnaround time...
or they want things a certain way, but no biggie..I'd be willing to deal with that for up to 5 cpl than what MTSOs want to pay.
it's called meeting turnaround time, as a team. NM
X
think, people! If she does 250 lines/hour, same docs daily, will make $15/hour
nm
Not yet but our office is being transferred there I think with out accounts. Doesnt sound good. Why
did you transfer from Foxboro. I wont stay there if they take me off my accounts. How is the quality with putting people on all these accounts. It is my understanding all the NE offices will be working out of Amherst fairly soon. What a fiasco that sounds like it will be. How long do you think this will last until all the good MTs move on if that office contines to do that.
Good accounts, great people, plenty of work. sm

I'm past that "honeymoon" stage of the first few months that another poster mentioned.  I still find them to be the best for me.  Never run out of work, always there for questions, including timely responses, great people (QA and otherwise).

I'd highly suggest contacting either your supervisor or Jane (as she offered) about lack of work.  As you should see on the daily reports, there is plenty of work out there.

Good luck & I hope it works out for you.

I do Rad for TT. Pay is good, tons of work, decent accounts. I know they are hiring a few more
Rad MTs now. I would highly recommend.
They really dont pay enough for having most ESL accounts. Hard to get a good line count
and then to only make 8 cpl. It really is not worth it. Chartscript is not productive in my opinion.
100,000/year - no way. I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days - sm
AND I DO NOT CLEAR $100,000/YEAR.

what's not to believe - I said that I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days AND DO NOT MAKE - sm
I DO NOT MAKE $100,000/YEAR

try READING the post.
Yeah, but the sound quality is horrible on all accounts. Good luck with that!

Is it good work ethic to ask to change accounts at natl company? Please SM

I work for a national company and overall I've been quite happy. However, they changed my primary account last fall, and I have been miserable since then. It is a teaching hospital, several hundred docs, tons of different rules about format, etc, that change almost daily, 80% ESL, and I am very unhappy with it and making less now than I have in the last 7 years I've been doing acute care transcription because I'm so slow on it. I get paid 8.5/line.

My question is, is it wrong to ask to change accounts? My quality is great, they are very happy with my work, and in fact have mentioned that many MTs have quit rather than do this account, and of course I realize someone has to do it. I'm so unhappy, yet I don't want to appear incompetent or a cherry picker, etc, if I were to ask for a change (which they would not have to do), and I would like to stay with this company if only I could find a way to be happy with the work, because it is a good place overall. Any thoughts on this? Thank you.
