Medscribe SWEAT SHOP
Hey thank you so much. I have been looking for someone to validate my thoughts. They treat me like dirt. The pay is crapola. They have all these little rah rah emails and they also email everyone with an angry and cross manner when one person does something in error. I am making zilch in this dump.
For 7.5 cents a line they want you to do impossible dictators like Laredo Medical Center where you can understand nothing and if you leave a blank they get mad because there is too much in editing. They call me when I don't make the line counts and berate me UGH.

Sweat shop mentality! Time for you to leave and find a job where you'll

Medscribe in Jacksonville FL
Would like to hear from current Medscribers regarding pros and cons of this company.  They are hiring for ER MTs, using a platform called DVI.  How is it and what is it?  Difficult to learn?  Good line count?  Thank you.
Medscribe Jacksonville
Can anyone tell me about Medscribe out of Jacksonville? Are they a good company to work for?
I know there's one in Jacksonville, FL...where's the other Medscribe? TIA (nm)

Any info on Medscribe Jacksonville? SM

Specifically, what the platform is like and what rate of pay is. Any information will be appreciated.  I'm acute care MT with 17 years of acute care experience, including teaching hospital accounts.

Thank you.

Thanks in advance.
Any opinions on MedScribe, Jacksonville, FL - been offered a position
I have been offered an ER position and was just wondering if there is any CURRENT feedback on this company -- MedScribe Information Systems, Inc.  Pay is not great but sounds like the benefits will make up for it.  Need opinion on the platform and how difficult is it to make the required line counts.  Any opinions would be great, and email me if you would rather.  Thanks in advance

Don't sweat it. sm

It would appear that Medware is just the company of choice for bashing lately.  Everyone is tired of bashing SoftScript and MQ now and they have turned their attentions elsewhere.  It will cycle on through and Medware will be nonetheless the worse off for it.

Don't sweat it.
I answered no when asked if nuchal meant the back of the neck because I heard back of the throat for some reason and was hired anyway. They know people tend to freeze up on the oral tests.
Don't sweat it.....
we all have those days.......actually I'm having one today!!
Do not sweat Deventure!!

I passed Deventure's test with flying colors, per someone named Dina.  Then, I received a call from Amanda, who is so nice.  After talking and grilling the account manager about running out of work, not being any work, etc, she told me her account was packed with work;therefore, on that basis, I accepted the job.  Within one lousy day, I was trained on clinics, then told I would be trained on acute care,  then was told the acute care was low, so lets switch back to clinics, then told the work was low!! etc.  GET THE PICTURE!!!  I promptly quit!!! what a mess.  I had another job waiting in the wings, in fact 2 jobs waiting in the wings.

I refuse to waste my time.  Then, the account manager had the nerve to send me an email detailing how I did not do much work that day.  I never responded to her and promptly sent Amanda a no thank you email and moved on.

Aww, man... from the sweat shops, you mean?
xx
Shop around
before deciding. I had worked for Transhealth and left as I got tired waiting around for work and was not going to be working outside my scheduled shift to accomodate them when there was work as I do have a life. Even if they paid 10 cpl it is not worth it, not especially if you are stuck on an ESL account as you will be pulling your hair halfway through your shift.
No sweat from my behind. I have not one complaint about this chair. nm
.
Maybe we give them the sweat off our brows-LOL

It's okay, I shop at Target enough

to make up for you and probably 3 other people boycotting.

I did hear about the Salvation Army thing but honestly, I agreed with their stance on it.

Do you have anything you could take to a pawn shop?
My son used to pawn his electric guitars, then on payday he went and bought them back. Then when he finally matured, he pawned them and just left them there for good.
Maybe it's something in Jacksonville, FL?...
I just googled Jax and found it to be used for Jacksonville. Just a thought.
They could check your history. Best not to shop on E-bra
When I am waiting for work to come up. My PC is on the next desk.

Don't sweat it. Be glad you didn't hear back.

I am wondering about the one in Jacksonville, FL
Saw an ad but only thing in archives is from over 2 years ago.
Jacksonville, Florida. Sorry, I
didn't know there was more than one.  Thanks again!
Med-Scribe in Jacksonville, FL
Can anyone tell me about this company.  I searched the archives and found one negative comment from 2004.  If anyone has worked for this company or currently work for this company, please give me feedback (good and bad).  I just accepted a position and now am scared after reading the archives.  Help please!!!!
Where can we shop for supplies that aren't imported? sm
I really don't mind paying a little more, have always supported our local merchants, but just can't find everything my son needs for school, etc., locally except at Wal-Mart. I don't buy his clothing or shoes there. What major retailers sell USA products? TIA.
I wonder if this is a small shop? Surely someone here works for them.

Did you do any of the STAT work they had?  If so, may I email you?

No, I neither shop at Walmart or go to Disney World
Would not be caught dead at either place. Neither do I buy Levi or Lazy-Boy products since they moved to Mexico.
Spheris had Shands-Jacksonville. I don't

Bout ready to take this computer to the pawn shop
and cancel the internet - then find a real job again that pays hourly, has a sane schedule, gives me a yearly raise and a paid vacation.  Get paid if there is work and don't have to hear We don't pay for downtime.  Not kidding either.   Might enjoy socializing a bit again too.
Dictation Services Group out of Jacksonville, FL
Being an MT for 7 years, I was just hired with this company 2 weeks ago and the very next day, I came down with a sinus infection and bronchitis on top of that. I was sicker than a dog still and my start date was the next day. They were very compasionate and understanding, and my supervisor even suggested taking a few more days before starting in hopes that I would feel even better. However, the account I was put on in the DQS system was horrible; voice torque was too high and you couldn't understand anything the dictator was saying. I then emailed them and told them exactly why I did not think I was going to be able to accept the position with them and my supervisor emailed me back asking me to try another account before totally making that decision. Hence, I have only worked on the other account for 2 days and I absolutely love it.

In working for a company in CA with heavy ESL dictators, DSG's ESL dictators are nothing compared to them, but that may depend on the account you work on.

As far as feedback, they try to get back to you in a timely manner. You do have to take into consideration that you are not the only MT requesting information and it does take time to reply to all those emails.

With that said, I have to give them a definite great company to work for considering my situation upon hire there. Ask me in another month what I think and I hope to say the same.

Good luck in job hunting. I'm sure you will find a company that works for you; it just takes time and patience to find that company.
It stops at the end of the month you quit. Shop around though, I found insurance
for $193 a month for me and the kids. Limit is 2 doctor visits each for a year, but since it is only temporary that is fine, lots cheaper than Cobra which was doing to cost me over $800
Where do you turn if you have went
to your supervisor and even one step above to her supervisor and still get the same BS - what then? I have begged and pleaded for over a year to be taken off the account I am on now and be placed back on my orginal account. In one ear and out the other. I had no problem with them either until they put me on this account "only to help out." With all the office closing it is like talking to some secret agent when you try talking to a supervisor - you get NO WHERE.

I'm sorry to show my ignorance, but where is SL?

I am very glad that you are happy and I do hope that it stays that way for you. I used to feel the same way. I never had a problem with communicating until all this closing office stuff started. I think as a long time employee I do have a right to know what is going on, but that is just me.
My turn
I returned to KS 3 months ago after leaving and going back to MQ. Talk about a company in trouble? MQ should go into the Guiness Book. I am back with KS and happy as can be. KS will continue to grow because the owner is honest and sincere. I know because of how she has helped me personally with several issues. So, for those who bash KS, ignore them please. There is no perfect MT company in this country and there never will be. For me, KS is home for good. For others, it just may have not been in the cards.
you then turn off the TV - get over yourself...nm

Turn it down!
How many hours a day will you need to work in order to make good money??!! Let them edit their own work for peanuts. I can make more transcribing than sifting through garbage dictations from not-so-great MTs.
I would turn them in for sure! Nothing OSi does
would surprise me.  I quit working for them because of all the phone calls to work on my day off, etc.  That company is so unprofessional and unorganized.
Enough to turn me off, too! nm

Why would they turn on her? Because most likely, she's one that
Like these ads that state Must have at least 20 years of experience, no exceptions, must work well independently, must be dependable, must know our software inside and out, and must be able to produce 1500 lines a day (... and oh, yeah, pay is 7 cpl). Sorry, but any self-respecting person would take a job that pays more for the same amount of work! That's a given. This MTSO says she does the same - finds the MTs that will do the same amount of work for less pay and grabs them. Absolutely no difference. It works both ways, show some loyalty and respect and you'll receive that in return. Something tells me if she found an MT willing to work for an even lower rate than the ones she has now, she'd dump her current MTs in a heartbeat so she could rack up more money in her piggy bank. Pathetic. All that said, I don't even believe a word she says. Smells like a troll to me.
Yes, I turn one in.
I have worked for other companies on Bayscribe where I have not been required to turn in a line count, but Oracle does request you turn one in. It really is no big deal.
You do not have to turn one in and you will
Since you are IC, they want to cover THEIR bases with the IRS by saying you have invoiced them, when in reality, they couldn't care less about your invoice; they pay you what they get on line count, not what you come up with.....

Of course, that is completely illegal but it is done anyway. according to IRS guidelines, as an IC you determine pay rate and YOU invoice them for the amt owed you, but they are not following that. Like I said, they are just trying to cover themselves in case someone said anything but on the other hand, wage and hour would definitely be interested in their practices as well as the IRS.

Many do this, however....
Did you turn them down?
After your schooling (as it sounds like you got a job elsewhere).

If so, was it a cpl issue?

Thanks for any further info.
LOL!!! Okay - here's my posting - your turn!
HIlarious in a sick control freak kinda way!

:)
Thanks for the advice, now it's my turn...

I understand exactly what you are saying and I agree with you.

Please let me share my experience from an MTs point of view.  After submitting my resume, then passing the tests (no ESLs), interviewing via phone and lastly being hired, I was very excited to start with a national company.  Everything was going fine.  Then I started making line count.  Eventually my line count took me up to bonus level.  Then all of a sudden POW - I'm nailed with 10 other doctors from the same account that I never knew existed.  Where were those doctors when I was first put on the account?  Now, I make $11 an hour in a profession I have been doing for 8 years.  Your getting those replies because all the good MTs (like myself) are finding employment outside of this profession.  You may not offshore now but you will because all the good MTs are getting fed up with this crap!  If you think 8 to 10 is a good salary, then you type the reports.  Better yet, just type the ESLs!

I had to turn down an MTSO for this. No way would I

Don't forget to turn them in to the IRS! nm

This is when you turn over specific
examples to your supervisor and get some answers. I would keep a record of every inconsistency and send them in.
All they have to do is turn the tracking
on the report and they will see what has actually been transcribed.
No, but you may have to turn in work
