she would know that she does not play slot machines. Ever. She goes to casinos a few times a year, not often, and WHO CARES WHAT SHE DOES WITH HER FREE TIME AND MONEY? I know her well and obviously this person does not. This person is obviously trying to hurt the reputation of someone who doesn't deserve to have her name ruined. The truth is that the owner works 7 days a week, more than 8 hours most days. That's why we all have enough work to keep us busy and why our benefits keep increasing and why we do not have pay cuts. Geesh. Personal attacks on someone's integrity. This board is getting worse and worse.
I get stressed with the 95% ESL too
and work types that I don't like to do and wasn't hired to do (course I wasn't hired for the 95% ESL either). One day I can handle, 2 days back to back is too much. If I was paid hourly it would be different. I start looking for jobs, send out resumes, post resumes .... I interview, test, ace the tests, everyone is anxious for me to work for their company, but they don't pay squat, I have to punch a clock, do xx lines, etc. I've done this 3 or 4 times the past 5 years and finally decided there just isn't better out there and on the bad days I just need to take a deep breath and keep plugging away. I make good money (not as good as you) but I have to really work to get it and I can't imagine doing this job for any less than I currently make.
frantic and stressed
I think it began with taking over another company a few years ago and acquiring their Indian facility. Then trying to change the whole company over to Cornerstone, losing some of their business, introducing VR, low work volumes, many MTs unhappy with the new compensation ... and acquiring CHS. On my last account their, manager said the facility is complaining about too many blanks...then said use the blank more often and produce more.
So sorry you are stressed! I've been with JLG (also from MQ) for a while now
and love it. Maybe you should call and talk to someone there and they can help you out. Good luck to you!

very cumbersome and I'm afraid I won't be productive, but I have worked on the account for 5 years so I'm hoping knowing the dictators and their quirks and the account specifics will be enough to help makeup for learning a new platform.

I've been doing this hardcore for the past year with different companies even. I can't take it anymore but MT is all I know how to do, been doing it for almost 20 years.

This job has become more and more difficult/stressful during the past 4 to 5 years -- since outsourcing and voice recognition. I had rather work for less $ any day than get the sloppy dictators/ESL's that the U.S. MT's end up with. Also the doctors whose dictation is not compatible for voice recognition software is being passed on to the MT's.
This job was so fun and exciting about 5 years ago, and I put in MANY extra hours (and made good money) because I did enjoy the job and also the extra money. It seems there is just not enough money offered to pay for the type of dictators/reports that we can get now in this profession. I am probably the only one who feels this way, but I am just being honest.

The job posting for 0.035/line should be removed from the site as a gross insult for the profession, though I feel that the 8 and 8.5 cents most companies pay now is also an insult! Too many MTSOs and mom/pop shops trying to take advantage of the newbies who don't know any better.

They say to please flex your time when work is low. Then they send out emails when things pick up and tell us we MUST be on NOW if we are short lines/hours. Yes, my life revolves around you TT! I love sitting at my computer 12 hours a day every day to accommodate YOU! arrggghhh.

You have a new job and nobody is interested in getting you started working. Somebody below has been waiting since DECEMBER? They are IGNORING YOU??? You have receipts that they are receiving your emails and IGNORING YOU, and you wonder if you should be concerned and others like you are sitting around waiting. ARE YOU CRAZY? And you are asking the public if you should be concerned? You are asking STRANGERS if you should be concerned that you have a new job that basically you don't have. This is just pure insanity and again workers like you, or nonworkers really, are what perpetuates the abuse we all receive from MTSOs. How insane is it to start a job and have no work? Would you start your first day at McDonald's and just stand there in the middle of the room if nobody helped you get started? NO. You'd get help from someone there, or you'd walk out. Why in the world you sit here in cyberland and wait is so beyond my realm of imagining that I just can't comprehend it. If you take this abuse, you deserve nothing. Its that pure and simple. Anybody else at Webmedx going nuts from technical hassles?
I know better than to post this on their internal message board, as anything that is not 100% happy gets deleted.
This is the 2nd week in a row of technical issues on the client's end vs issues on our end, with the MTs caught in the middle, having to twiddle their thumbs during their scheduled shift, then give up their scheduled days off and work like mad playing catchup. I guess I just want to vent and commiserate . Anybody else in my boat?
I do all that for my animals and people call me nuts!
It just depends on what your priorities are I guess. Some people do that for kids, animals, a house, a car...if it makes you happy--go for it! That whole life it too short and all...

We got the list from AHDI. If someone does not wish to be on our email list, there is a link to click on at the bottom of those for opting out. We immediately remove those that click the link.
We also have a few mailling going out. Same thing - if you opt out of the email program, we will remove you from all contact.
We need transcriptionists for many new accounts and have ads on here and other sites, as well as several magazines. We are going to need over 100 MTs in the next 3 months due to new accounts and more work on existing accounts!

Have not moved around a lot
I have not jumped around a lot, worked for MRC when they were around years ago, then Medifax and Speris when it was Edix, now work for a small MTSO. Am happy but no benefits, no incentive, get paid the same as a new hire just out of school, kind of depressing.
Ask to be moved to something else...

and kept looking for other employment, but I didn't know if I needed to email her officially quitting or what (how ridiculous after all this time...). I signed an IC contract, so I didn't know if that means I'm bound to anything. I don't know how this works!! Anyway, I'll just let it go and continue moving on - thank you everyone for the replies!!
