Not playing devil's advocate but something

...is that companies don't have nearly as much latitude to make exceptions to their policies as we might like to think.

This is due to the litigious environment that employment law has become over the last few decades. If you deviate from your formal policies or procedures, you will discover that you can be sued by other employees (or even former employees) for whom you did not make the same exception.

So, corporate counsel routinely advise their clients: Set a policy and then stick with it 100% because you're opening Pandora's box if you don't.

Sad, but very true.

Devil's advocate
Then how can the doctors or accounts dictate to us that they want the report back in 24 hours, how they want it typed, etc.  Therfore all of the major companies should be employees of the hospital, etc.  What would we do if a plumber wanted to work graveyard and do our plumbing at night or a contractor decided to take our windows out in the middle of winter and put back in the middle of spring????  I still have to give my gals a time frame in which to work and have the report back, according to this I have no say to do this.
Devil's advocate-
A) If they eliminated companies that offshored from the job lists, said lists would be a lot shorter than they already are. This site is for USA transcriptionists; it says nothing about where the companies need to be located.

B) It's a badly written ad since it doesn't say where the office is, but it is for in-house positions, and if they are located in the US, does that not make it an American job?

Devil's advocate
I hate to break it to you but the Sixties ended a looong time ago......
No, I will never quit being an MT advocate. Yawn!

ah..the devil's doorway..sm
already predicted and already happening. Cannot stop it. It is meant to be.
'I can't get rid of the devil I called,
this came into my mind, I think it is from Goethe's 'Faust?'

The 'devil' being the 'technology.' Technology makes our life easier, but when technology gets so perfected that it makes the human labor obsolete, that's bad, bad.........

We have to think of a way to stop evolution of technology!

LOL !
Can we say Devil wears prada...

InterPro Medical...Hope this doesn't appear to be selling soul to devil.... but
I am seriously considering working for InterPro (a company owned by India that outsources).  Never thought I would, but I see they have BCBS insurance which starts in 30 days of employment, and other good benefits.   I am a diabetic with hypertension and paying almost $400.00 a month for Cobra health insurance, which will expire soon, thus will be left uninsured.  I've tried getting individual insurance, but no one will ensure because of my health problems.   Can anyone give me some specs on InterPro, i.e. current employees, etc.., or any other companies where insurance goes in effect 30 days of employment.

Oh, I am playing with the "big boys" and have been doing this for 25 years darling!
You do not know it all, though may think so! I was just trying to let you know, some hospitals will honor your invoicing methods and pay you on time. Now, that may depend on whether your invoice goes through the purchasing department as a vendor or through the department in which you contract.

Not to mention managers playing on the darn thing
