I applied a month or two ago, received an email from someone asking if I would take a test and said she was getting ready to go on vacation for a week, so I hurried and immediately and told her I'd love to take the test. I never heard back. I waiting thinking she went on vacation and would contact me when she got back to do the test but nothing...very strange..Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.

I did apply, heard back, and took the first part of their test. nm

took their test and waited for eight months to hear back from then sm
by that time I had two different jobs.  No the eight months is NOT A TYPO
So good to know! I took the test but have not heard back

I don't think I will take the job, but do you know if they even hire ICs?  Just so I know!  TXs

Guess I didn't. Heard back within a day of taking the test, sm
but that was several years ago.  Depends on current recruiters, I guess.
I sent it in the first day, heard back in a few days, took the test and started last week. sm
I know that they are very busy and it sounds like they are getting even busier. It took about a week after I took the test to hear, but I was told there were over 100 people taking tests and they were picking the best scores.
I just heard back that I passed the test and they asked when it was convenient to contact me by phon

Phoenix Medcom Test... SM

I am testing for Phoenix Medcom, and I have to say it's the most horrible test I've ever taken.  First of all, there is 32 minutes of dictation to transcribe, which makes it also the longest test I've ever taken.  But worst of all is the sound quality.  I work in QA and MT and to be honest, some of these reports (especially the longest 10-minute report) would be sent to the client with a documentation report about the bad sound quality.  I realize that some companies test harder than the typical transcription, but this worries me.  I did ask the recruiter if the sound quality is indicative of the typical working reports if I'm hired, and she told me something about how the reports on the test are .wav files and I'd be on a Lanier account.  However, ALL my current accounts and most of my accounts throughout my career are .wav formatted.

Anyway, I need to know if this is what I can expect from employment.  I won't work for sound quality this terrible on a general basis, so I would want to know any experiences about the sound quality at the least, and any other comments about Phoenix.  I have been burned by a few companies in the past year and I'm just tired of it.

Thanks!

Anyone test for Phoenix Medcom?....sm
I tested two days ago and haven't heard a word, though they responded within hours of submitting my resume. This is one of the things I really dislike about testing--it won't be the first time that I tested and never heard back from the company. Frankly, I'd much rather have a Sorry, you didn't make the cut email then sitting around wondering if I will hear or won't hear.
If there's anybody here who tested with Phoenix, would you mind letting me know if you've heard from them since? You can drop an email if you'd rather. TIA!
Has everyone heard back from Keystrokes yet regarding the email we received a while back?
Just wandering why I haven't heard any response yet.
I sent them an email back in August and never heard back sm
Is this company on Long Island? I checked out their website and even tried calling once. Were you successful in contacting them? All i know is that the company is owned by some doctors.

Hopefully, you will hear back. Unfortunately, I immediately heard back from MD-IT
but somehow with over 16 years of experience, I blew the test.  I was soooo disappoionted and yet pretty stunned.  I am by no means perfect but I haven't flunked a test in years.  I expected it in my early years but not this far down the road. I was so confident and they will not tell you which part you did not pass and why so it really just blew my mind.  I must have been in shock for like two hours after I got the email. Oh well, someone will want me....hopefully.  I was thinking about OSi but I don't think I could take another rejection if I never heard back.
I took a test for a company and my foot pedal would work with the test and I had keep going back
over the dictation time and again to get all the words because I couldnt stop and start it by the foot pedal.  What can I do about this.
How long does TransTech take to get back to you if you apply
It says a week or so on their site.  I am assuming if you don't hear from them in that time frame they are not interested?
Did anyone apply to Lee Perfect when they posted a few weeks back?
I contacted them twice but never heard back.  The position is exactly what I am looking for.  I have been checking the help wanted ads for a couple of months waiting for that perfect job description.  This one had it all.  They were hiring for my preferred specialties, they use EMDAT, and they pay well.  Would love to hear back from them :-(
Anyone apply to recent CardioScribes ad and hear anything back? nm
nm
Come back in 8 months and tell us how well you
nm
She said she would contact me back but never did. 4 months later, still nothing.

I did the same thing about 6 months ago but am back at sm
Keystrokes again FT. I don't think they are allowing PT (KS) anymore either, so might want to check that first. What type of work do you do?

It was a big mistake for me as it is an IC position. The so-called raise actually cost me more in the long run with taxes. I was making 0.11, which was actually less than the 0.09 that I have at Keystrokes when I counted everyone in.

Just be careful and make sure that you are doing the right thing. A friend of mine left Keystrokes and now they are not rehiring her even though she has been trying for three months! They finally told her to give it up, that she would never be eligible for rehire because of a few things, but she learned a hard lesson.
I tested with them a few months back...sm
I don't recall having any equipment issues, however. You really should contact whoever your recruiter is and let them know before you proceed. I actually failed their transcription test by 1/2 a lousy point and I've been an MT for over 18 years!! They wouldn't tell me what I missed. I am getting ready to test with them again. All I've heard are positive things about this company.

I probably didn't help you very much, but know how frustrating it can be to post and have absolutely no resplies. From what I remember about their testing is that you aren't penalized for blanks, so don't take any chances with guessing. I would assume this works with their equipment as well.

Good luck to you! Keep us posted on how you do!

WebMedX-wannabe
I don't think so. I got my test back from them but not from two others. I think it is becoming
common. I was embarrassed when I saw my test and made sure that the next one I took was better.

Why would you think it was Keystrokes? No one mentioned a company. I was thinking of an entirely different company. Just curious.
I remember the big stink a few months back

and what's her name from TRS got all huffy and said how they were just trying to teach a trade to these poor people so they could earn a decent living, that they weren't taking U.S. jobs away.  I don't know why they thought we were dumb enough that we wouldn't realize that it wouldn't do any good to teach them a trade if there was no way to practice their trade.  I too thought it took a lot of balls to advertise for the overseas person.

There were several companies that were supportive of this, I don't remember all of them, but Cymed was one of them.

Took 3-4 wks. a few months ago to hear back after testing. I was already in a new job by then. nm
s
I saw some post from months back that they stated
they were very strict with the schedule.  the schedule you give them is the one you have to work.
Search the archives back for the few months.

There' s lots of info on SoftScript.  In my opinion, not a good place to work and I'm glad I didn't accept their offer.

Thanks - I sent my test back Friday
so hopefully I'll hear back by the end of next week. I'm really interested in doing clinic notes so I hoping I did well enough.
The company I work for went to VR a few months back. I was as terrified as you are. sm
It has been OK. I like doing the VR work, and my check is really no different than it was before the change. I do a lot more in terms of production in the same amount of time.

The downside is that the increased production, even though in the same timeframe, is taking its toll on me. It is stressful.

If you get an easy report that has very few edits, you will fly through it. If you get one that is full of errors, it will take you longer than typing it from scratch.

It's a catch-22 in that we really don't have a choice but the good news is that my pay has not suffered and my hands are not as tired.
I took over a week for them to get back to me, and I took a test over the phone, but that was SM
several years ago. Dont now about now.
Phoenix MedCom and Phoenix Transcription in CA are 2 different companies
Phoenix Med is in NY. The posts seem to confuse the two at times.
This is not Phoenix MedCom fromNY...it's Phoenix from California
Phoenix MedCom doesn't pay by gross line.
I was offered a job months back, but the contract said they docked for errors.
Not my cup of tea! I never was docked pay for making a med error as a nurse. I would not have accepted that kind of treatment. I'm human, for crying in the corn, not a machine.
Never Heard Back
I sent a resume to Acetera, got a call back from a recruiter, who offered me a job and I accepted. They were supposed to get back to me regarding software, training, etc. and nothing at all.
Has anyone ever heard back from them? (sm)
Test is very difficult because of exceptionally poor audio quality. Try the 7-day Bytescribe free trial as ExpressScribe isn't good enough for these files.
I already heard back and was sent...sm

contract and such.  I was just wondering if anyone knew anything good/bad about them.

Here is what I do and have always heard back.
I send in resume and will get response to please take their test and return it to them. Instead, I reply back that I would be more than happy to test but do not want to waste their valuable time grading my test if it is going to turn out we are not a good fit for each other and would they mind answering a few questions first.  I then ask what is pay, is it hourly or cpl and if cpl how is line calculated. I ask if they have direct deposit and when would I get first check.  I don't ask a bunch of questions, just the ones that to me will determine first and foremost if this is a company I am interested in.  Have never not gotten answers to my questions and when I do get answers, if I am not interested, I send email thanking them for taking the time to answer but I don't think their company is what I am looking for and I am sure they will have no problem filling the position (even if I think there is no way in hell anyone in their right mind would work for them, lol.)
i heard back....

I heard back but only to ask me for my resume and that was on Thursday.  I have not heard back from them since.

With me, it was only a day before I heard back from them - SM
That was last February, though, and they have grown a lot and have gotten much busier since then. I don't think it would hurt at all to give them a call just to sort of touch base with them.
Heard back one day after
I applied via phone call.
I also heard back within a day or two... sm
It never hurts to contact them and verify they got your information.  Everyone I've dealt with there is very nice and never seemed bothered by or rude because of an inquiry.  Good luck!
Medware's test hold people back from applying.
.
Even so, it is very unprofessional and rude to not reply back when someone took the time to test!!

Has anybody heard back from Oracle? sm

I accepted a position with Oracle about a week ago and faxed my paperwork to them but haven't heard back. They said they would be contacting me. Has anyone recently accepted a position with Oracle and heard back from them?

Thanks

I haven't heard back from them yet. (sm)
Does it seem to take a long time to hear back from them? I went to the website, filled that info. out and the test last week. Do they pay more than 9 cpl?
Have any of you heard back from PMSI? I'm also having a bit of a
xxx
If you haven't heard back from her she will
contact you. She is a sweetheart. She's just really busy right now. Try giving her another call or email. I am also employed by Transcribe it Quick.
I heard back immediately

I got a one sentence email saying I didn't have enough experience. Must be pretty difficult work. I have been typing all work types for 19 years, especially psych and radiology..the two on the list. I have also done ESL in every job I have ever been employed. Oh well, asked her to keep my name in the barrell!

I heard back the next day. I wouldn't really

bother with them.   I thought that maybe they represented companies that might not post to the job boards and who might offer better than most jobs - like a headhunter.  After their testing they put me in touch with a company that regularly posts on the job boards and who currently have an ad running.  I had recently turned down an offer with this same company.  There was no difference in pay in what I was offered going through TM than I did going directly through the company.  TM said they could sometimes negotiate a higher rate, but it didn't happen.

I think the company is only 2 people and I don't think it is a FT job for either one of them - at least that is the impression I got.  Since they have a current ad maybe they have been swamped with resumes.

After you test with TM you still have to test again and if you don't get more $ you're better off applying to companies yourself and at least you won't have to go through an additional round of testing and interviews.

I don't know how long this post will last as in the past any post that doesn't portray them in a positive fashion gets deleted.

I applied and heard back (sm)
They responded almost instantly with an e-mail that said to send a Yahoo IM (instant message) to their address. I e-mailed back that I did not have an IM account, and could we just discuss via e-mail, and then I never heard anything again. Really makes me wonder how legit they are...
I did the same questionnaire and never heard back either. nm
nm
I applied there and just heard back

I don't know a whole lot because I am waiting to start but pay is 9 cpl (even though the ads say 9-10) and they use ChartScript.  You also must be incorporated because they are only hiring for contract work at this time.  No set schedule.  Hope this helps a little.

Hi, heard back same day....this was for radiology,right?......nm
nm
I heard back from them the day I sent my resume in. sm
I have not received my paperwork yet, but will be starting to work for them on a part-time basis.  The work is all cardio -- mostly clinic notes, correspondence, echos, etc.  They seem to be a good company, but I guess they all do when they are hiring you.  We'll see .........
