QA question

Let me start out by saying QA at the company I work for does a great job. I do not know how they get paid, but my question is this - When I send a 3 page report with one blank, or something as basic as no date of consultation given, it is my understanding QA gets paid for the lines for the entire report to just go and listen to that 1 blank. Is that that true in most cases? I know that generally I have more experience than most of our QA people. With that said, I totally appreciate the second set of ears, but give me a break that they do not make any money on the more experienced MTs. At least 99% of the time when I go back to see what my blanks were they are put through as blanks, and I am thinking it must be total gravy for the QA person. Yes, I know there are a lot of inexperienced MTs out there and a ton of garbage that gets sent to QA, but then why settle for it if you are not making at least as much as you would as an MT?
