How flexible is their scheduling? sm
Don't they have a 12 hour window to get work done in?
Flexible Scheduling
Are there other companies that offer flexible scheduling, or rather line commitments, instead of a fixed shift - like MDI-MD?
the info given so far is that scheduling will be MORE FLEXIBLE
so not sure exactly what you are asking, re: firm.
Companies with flexible scheduling?

I'm looking for a company that I can commit to lines per pay period and not a set schedule?

How's the scheduling for MDI-MD? Are they completely flexible?

Does ANYONE besides MDI pay decent and have that FLEXIBLE scheduling? HELP, please! nm
x
Mind if I ask if they have flexible scheduling? pay scale? thanks! nm

do Etransplus and probity offer true flexible scheduling
or do you have to follow a set schedule?  Thank you in advance for all your input.
Company recommendations
I've been out of the loop for many years with my own accounts, so I am not up to speed with what companies are paying these days.  Are there any good companies to work for as an IC for 12 cpl or employee with benefits for 11 cpl?  Thanks!!
Company with flexible schedule

I'm an MT with 6+ years of acute care experience and a mom of 4.  I love working at night when kids are in bed.  I like the company I work for but they are starting to get very picky about working the assigned schedule.  I received a call today stating that if was not going to be typing for a 5 minutes or more I am to log out.  The problem is that I don't know how long it will take to calm down an upset child or lookup a new medication for the report I'm working on.

So the bottom line is that I need a company that will be flexible with my schedule.  I would really llike to find a company that hires ICs.  So is there anyone out there that works for a company who offers a flexible schedule? I,m willing to run out of work occasaionlly and I love working at night and on the weekend.  I would even take a pay cut to get a company that will work with me.

Thanks,

Mariah

Does anyone know of a company that hires ICs on a very flexible basis.
I really just want a position that I can work as a second job, maybe some weekends and evenings and nothing set in stone. I have found even with a lot of the companies who say that they are flexible or really not. The next thing I know, I need to tell them exactly WHAT DAY and WHAT TIME I am working ahead of time etc. That is exactly what I want to avoid. I want the flexibility to work if I want and take off a day or two if I need to. Is this possible?? I realize that the main reason they ask for a schedule is to plan accordingly but I do not want that "pressure". I was an IC recently and if I was not on right at the moment they "scheduled" me, then I would get emails or phone calls. Maybe I am just dreaming that I can have this flexibility..Anyone??
Anyone know of a company that is hiring per diem or very flexible IC
I am looking for very flexible work.  I've got 13 years experience in acute care and I need work that is very flexible, about 20 hours a week.  Does anyone know of an individual or company that has any work like this?    Thanks!
GREAT company! Extremely flexible. I think it sm
depends on your manager. Mine lets me off each time one of my kids is sick with no questions asked. I am left alone to do my job. I have not had a problem at all with slowness, nothing more than usual when working over the internet. Tech is very quick to fix any problems. I have had every holiday off that I have asked for, and even a few vacation dayy and have only been there since July. I think it is a wonderful company to work for.
Need good small company to work for with flexible schedule - e-mail me.nm

QT Medical is a wonderful small company. Very friendly and flexible with good dictators. sm
I have to be honest that I know nothing about the health insurance as I do not carry it. Anyway, they are an absolute wonder of a company. Apply at www.qtmedical.com
Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time.  I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment.  Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
Thank you. Any recommendations for another
company, one that doesn't do those kind of things? Do you think a smaller company is better maybe?
Any recommendations?? NM
nm
Thanks, I'm looking for one that does NOT, any recommendations? nm
Thanks.
I was asking for recommendations

This is the company board, and I was asking for company recommendations from other MTs with good experiences.  I mentioned my background so that someone who might be able to get a referral fee would know something about me and be able to feel comfortable referring me. I was basically under the impression that the whole point of the company board was for networking to find out about other companies, and I was hoping to get some good information here.

recommendations on companies

Hi Everyone, I'm new here!

I have 11 years experience in the transcription industry.  Done some editing and training etc.  I'm currently looking for a new job, and have a few offers.  I wondered if anyone had anything good bad or indifferent to say about any of these companies, as I am trying to make a decision here.

Does anyone work for Transcend, Spheris or Softscript?  And if so, what kind of line rates are you making and how do you like it.  These three companies have showed interest, well so did Shapin but after reading here and hearing about rates I won't be going with them.

Can anyone help me out here.  Im totally sick of changing jobs (two jobs changes in two years for small companies) and I would like to stay put for a while.

And nice to meet you, btw!

recommendations on companies
DO NOT and I repeat NOT entertain ideas from SoftScript- do a search under SS or SoftScript and you can read first-hand about SoftScript; I speak from first-hand.

Do yourself a favor and RUN as fast as you can from SS.

recommendations for companies
I would recommend Keystrokes without a doubt, good pay, good accounts, nice people. I have worked at a few big companies and Keystrokes is the best for me.
How flexible is flexible? A window of time? nm
.
Recommendations for late night PT
Need recommendations for good companies for late night PT, 16-20 hours per week.  IC or employee status not important.  TIA
SE scheduling
From what I understand, Santa Ana (Orange) and Monrovia are, I guess, sort of merged. (Same regional director/payroll dept.

What I wanted to ask (for those of you that are SEs)how closely do you stick to your schedule you provided them with? I was told I needed to work a set schedule, but heard from others that I can be very "lax" with it. I'm confused about the answers I've been getting, so if anyone can shed some light on the subject, I would greatly appreciate it.
scheduling
AllType's scheduling seems very rigid and I was looking for a more flexible schedule, like a 12-hour window or something similar. Any suggestions? Anyone from AllType that has personal experience regarding their scheduling with opinions to share? Thanks!
stat scheduling
Can anyone clear up the "general" schedule I need to follow as an MQ SE? I am so confused. I'm aware each office is different. My office asks for a set schedule, but is "very flexible." For those of you who are SEs, do you follow the exact schedule you give your acct mgr? If you agree to an 8-hour day, must you complete all 8 hours if your line count is already met? Can you log in to do extra work outside of your hours such as nights/weekends? I'm just curious to know how much time is actually monitored, being that this is a "general" schedule. It's very confusing and not really being made clear to me--please help!
Way too strict about scheduling
x
To MW - re set hours, scheduling, etc.
Set hours - yes you work a schedule but you can basically set your own schedule except you will need to work either Saturday or Sunday, usually Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday but they will work with you on the weekdays.  TT is the most flexible company I have found.
SPI's new scheduling application
Are there any current SPI MTs who are willing to share their thoughts on the new scheduling application?
scheduling application

I find the application slow and clumsy.  No way can you sign out if you leave your computer every 5 mins... it really is the last straw.  Word has it they're going to dump us anyway and pull out of onshore accounts altogether.

Webmedx scheduling
Can you tell me about the scheduling at Webmedx? Is there much flexibility? Weekends required?  Thank you!
Archivus scheduling
Can anybody tell me if the scheduling at Archivus for clinic work is flexible?  Can you tell me anything about the platform?  Thank you!
20 for PT and 40 for FT. But they are RIGID in scheduling. sm
I turned down the position because of this.
how flexibile is your scheduling at Medware? NM
nm
As far as PT scheduling, it would depend on the account, but SM
with regard to the PT incentive plan, there is a certain number of lines that have to be done on a weekend day. I don't have it all in front of me right now to be more specific than that. Maybe someone else can help with that... Sorry :-/
Futurenet scheduling/flexibility question. (sm)
If you agree to work during certain hours say 8-5, how flexible are they if something comes up and you take a couple of hours off during a.m. and then make up in p.m.  Is this even allowed.  I know it is IC but some IC positions are very rigid while others are not.
Don't know scheduling, but she emailed me saying they hire only FT and have no surgery accts. at

TransTech scheduling question. I know you work 1 weekend day (sm)

and give them a schedule you will be working.  Do they micromanage, i.e. if you have to run to school to pick up a sick kid can you make up the time at the end of the shift without calling for permission?  Do they go through and check your time on line and lines done to make sure you are being productive while signed onto system as MQ does?

Have heard they are really great and I understand schedules, but some companies allow more freedom of movement than others.

Any info helpful.  TIA.

IC status and being asked to commit to specific scheduling question
I thought I understood that this was not permitted to be asked if one was an IC.  I work a very, very stable schedule as it is, but they want me to tell them EXACTLY when I will work and also will I commit to weekends as well.  What do you all think???
How flexible are they? sm

How flexible are they with scheduling.  If something comes up in the middle of a shift or you need to make an appointment during that time, can you come on before or stay after your shift if you let them know ahead of time?  What if you are 15 minutes late, do you have to call in or just work an extra 15 minutes over? TIA

Flexible
I know they require a schedule but is there any flexibility in that schedule, such as a window of time within your scheduled hours?
Not any more, but they are flexible.
a
They are very flexible
I have been there for 5 months, and they have been more than flexible with me. If I ever need time off, I can just make it up on another day so as not to lose any lines, and they have absolutely no problems with that. There is life insurance and supplemental insurance through Aflac.
They have always been VERY flexible with me
Yes, you do have to wait a year to get your paid vacation time, which I have finally just reached, but if I have ever needed time off in the past, they have never had a problem with me switching my schedule around or just plain taking days off. I do well over the required line count, so this has never been a problem for me. Good luck in whatever you decide!
How Flexible? sm

I think it's totall cool that y'all are doing this.  Our industry doesn't ever go out of its way to help us when docs dictate horribly (the low-talkers, the noisy room, the one who spells simple words the entire report, etc., etc.), but it sure isn't that way in most every other occupation (even nursing, for example).  So while we need to collectively stand up for ourselves and stop accepting such ridiculousness, it's survival, sanity, and everything else to work PT jobs.

From what I've read over time, it sounds like many/most of these PT jobs are where the MT clearly makes her own hours.  Am I terribly off-base here?  Just curious.

I, too, have my ins. covered by my hubby, so am interested in these posts.  Of course, I'm also really tired of the line counts and all at the Q.

Thanks for all this input.

she is NOT all that flexible...maybe for you she is..sm
Pay is low....on those Editscript accounts you will get about 80% VR and she deals with MANY companies, many of them who deal with India.  What reallly got to me was her wanting a schedule from the MT as an IC....a STRICT schedule.
Flexible hours
you can pretty much set up your own hours (after training) with Spheris.  I work  a split shift through the week which accommodates my home life and I enjoy the time I have with my husband and children.  I still get in my 40 hours per week, OT from time to time, but if you exceed your line count per day, OT not really necessary.  Sometimes OT is mandatory, but this is very rare.  I have a super who is A1 and have never had a problem when asking for a bit of time off (of course, I make sure to schedule additional time if I am able to).
Flexible Hours?

Can anyone give me an idea of what companies offer the most flexible hours?  I can work fulltime, but my hours must vary slightly week to week.  I will always get my time in, but I am not able to commit to 9-5 or any "set" schedule.  I have 3 children and their schedules tend to change often.  Thanks.  I have 3 years of experience.

Amphion Medical Solutions: You can say you will work 5 hours a day, or 20 hours a week, but that is about as vague as they can tolerate. Contact HR@amphionmedical.com
