Same thing happened to me. I gave up.
I took the test and know I passed it. But I never heard from them. I had sent my resume several times, and got a response last year to take the test. I finally took the test, I know I did well. I followed up with the e mail from last year even, and still no response. Again e mailed with resume, no response. Figured it was me. I have over 20 years' experience, and really thought I'd do well with this company. Sounds just right. Every time I see the ad, I always wish they would e mail me again. Sorry I missed out on when they did contact me. DOn't feel like a stalker, or if you do you are not alone. I am always disappointed I missed out on this one. Good luck, hope you get some response.

A while back I posted about a good company who had been hiring and my post disappeared as well.
There was nothing bad, no personal names, etc. A good company who does not outsource to other countries.

I had the same thing happen to me, only in Italian.
Had an Italian doc, a really wonderful doc, but very, very thick accent. Well, guess what. I understand (not speak) a good deal of Italian. When I was growing up, my family lived with my grandmother, who was straight off the boat, as we used to say. And my small town was full of Italians. People were constantly speaking Italian around me when I was growing up, so I picked up quite a bit.
So one day I get this Italian doc dictating, and he kept switching back and forth between English and Italian, and I actually had no problem transcribing him. I occasionally looked up a word or two in Italian, but not often. Well, the company I worked for quickly found that I was able to transcribe him accurately, so he was assigned to me. No problem. It was nice work. He was a great dictator otherwise. Well, eventually he found out that someone on the other end of the line was able to understand Italian, and so he switched over to dictating completely in Italian. Now that didn't really work at all! I speak immigrant Italian. The neighborhood was mostly Sicilian, but my family was from Abruzzia. There's a real big difference, and lots of what I know is a jumble of dialects and accents. And we certainly never sat around the kitchen table discussing medical terminology when I was a kid! The Latin roots helped, but I spent way too much time on his reports. So, the company sent him a note, and eventually even gave him my phone number. We talked for a bit, so he found out how much his Italian Transcriptionist knew, and we set a nice balance.
He eventually moved on to another hospital. I really missed him. He always signed on and greeted me with my Italian name, which is much prettier than my American name. And he always said Grazie. Molto grazie at the end of every report!
I had the same thing happen and I asked for a copy
of the test and was told they couldn't mail it to me. Which makes no sense at all since the document was in Word and all they had to do was Email me the corrected version.
Do you happen to know which companies HUP outsources to other than MQ. I suppose the best thing
would be to call HR but will they give out this information. Not sure who to call at these hospitals.

job record will get you better $$$ if you are willing to promote yourself, search like crazy, talk to everyone, etc., but I have never been paid a cent more for CMT, what a waste, and all the years I paid my dues to AAMT, what a joke, they did NOTHING to better our field, just took the money for better conventions, as far as I can see.
I once gave my notice when I was in a non-MT position, gave
2 weeks, but the person I was supposed to train felt like she knew my job better than I did (although she knew squat) and was a pain to deal with, never on time, etc. so I only worked about a week of my notice before I left and told the person I was supposed to train that since she knew more than I did have at it. Anyway the owner wouldn't pay me for vacation. I filed a complaint with the labor board and they were more than happy to get my money for me.
Breitner can threaten all they want to. If you can document that you are owed monies, if Breitner can't prove that you aren't owed monies the labor board will be glad to collect your money. I would also file a complaint with the Attorney General . I have heard several people have had payment issues with them while the still worked for them. If people are willing to let them get away with it by just chalking it up to experience, then they will continue to try to get away with it. I'd contact the IRS too. I don't know what Breitner thinks they can do to you - let them threaten all they want to. A word of advice - DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT.

happier. I am on a different account then the first time and it is as if it is a different company. I have a great lead who leaves us alone most of the time but is there when I need her. It showed me that you can have a different experience within the same company.
I have to say that in the few weeks since they have the new office, it is much more organized probably because there are a lot of people there all the time. I had the pleasure of speaking to the new HR manager who was HR at a hospital, got my questions answered about insurance as I am going to full time and had a live voice pick up the phone.
Not all change is bad. This is one company that has changed for the better.
Have not moved around a lot
I have not jumped around a lot, worked for MRC when they were around years ago, then Medifax and Speris when it was Edix, now work for a small MTSO. Am happy but no benefits, no incentive, get paid the same as a new hire just out of school, kind of depressing.
Ask to be moved to something else...

and kept looking for other employment, but I didn't know if I needed to email her officially quitting or what (how ridiculous after all this time...). I signed an IC contract, so I didn't know if that means I'm bound to anything. I don't know how this works!! Anyway, I'll just let it go and continue moving on - thank you everyone for the replies!!

I just moved it to my new company from there when I became eligible to get one from the new place. Wasn't a problem at all.

IC folks
Okay all of you IC folks quick question. Do you like the flexibility of IC work? Do you think being an employee is better or about the same? Do you think you can make more money being IC as they are smaller companies than the big corporate giants we all know too well. Just wanted some fast feed back on the life of being an IC.

I am so jealous of all you MDI employees. You are so fortunate to be working for what is obviously one of the few good apples left in the bunch. It sounds like they truly care about their employees and I'm sure it will pay off for them in the long run. Sounds like some smart management! Wish some of these other companies would get wise to that kind of thinking. Taking care of the backbone of the company, the MTs is only going to be more profitable in the long run, but too many of them are short-sighted these days. I'm betting it wouldn't do much good to apply to MDI right now!

experience so that any potential MTs wanting to work for them can keep their eyes open! I adn a lot of other MTs are glad folks post their experiences. That is what this board is for.
I agree working for MQ has nothing to do with it. Many of us made our living at MQ for many years before they got really bad.
Landmark has always had a good reputation, but they could be beginning to start getting bad too. Don't flame somebody just trying to post their experiences.

country. I have heard folks from alot of the European countries talk like this. When you see ads like that it is a good indication that the person is not from America originally.

They recently moved to another office.
One of my friends who was recently hired was about to train, but that did not push through as the network was still quite down and the telephone line changed.
I have been working with them for almost two months now.
At first I had lots of files to work on (thanks to a new account they recently just acquired). Nowadays, they are a-trickling! Maybe I should ask for another account.

We don't have the pool any longer- we moved
A Mexican family. So, I'm not paying for anything. The pool installers were American and lazy, broke the filter, and took all day and night and brought theird kids to play on my swing set and requested soda. The Mexican landscapers required no water, did not ask to use my toilet, and were done in one-half day with a lot of digging and a lot of stone work that would have taken a lot longer if they didn't work as hard as they did in the blazing sun. The American installers did nothing but cuss, moan, and complain about the heat.
As far as healthcare, we'll be paying more anyway once Hillary gives everyone who can't afford healthcare, free healthcare. Too bad, Americans are too lazy to work harder and smarter. I'm all American, born and raised, and I work very hard, but hey if the foreign entity comes along (like it did on my hospital job) and says they can do it cheaper, then what can I do?

I see some QA/MT folks do become recruiters from
thread below. Does anyone know how to break into this? I believe I would be very good at this and I don't believe I have ever seen any ads for recruiters.
If I have never seen any ads, how do some of the recruiters who have been/are MTs/QA manage to find the positions that they do in order to allow them to change companies when some of us have never seen an ad to allow us to even enter that end of the field?
I would love to know because I think it would be very interesting.
Would you recommend just to start emailing all companies or calling them, or do you think it would be a waste of time?
So what happened to all the new KS folks?
There were a bunch of posts in the last couple of weeks about it being a great company, new accounts, etc... Where are yall now that started with them?
