That is what I just said. !0 days PTO, period. That includes vacation, sick days and personal days
They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.

That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.

OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.

I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.

Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.
The problem with this forum is that it is a forum...
meant for MTs who want to share information, get answers, and sometimes just vent about a problem. The post about cherrypicking began with the MTs problem of having to transcribe reports that were obviously skipped over by her fellow MTs. The response was quit being a cherrypicking busybody and do your job.

Regardless of how you view cherrypicking, how is that response helpful in the least? If you do not have anything productive to add to a thread, then just stay out of it. That was completely inflammatory and characteristic of what a troll would do.

Nobody wants to hear just deal with it when they need a solution to a problem. They also don't want to hear about how perfect other MTs and if they were just like them, it would not be an issue.

In your own words, nobody likes it but some choose not to worry about it. Then don't respond to the thread. Don't be pompous. Don't make it sound like you are so superior because you don't care if you get all the worst dictators. Maybe give a positive response on how cherrypicking is good and should be appreciated.

That is the problem with this forum...the people who come here to be completely unhelpful in the guise of being a perfect MT.
links

There is one on the job seeker's board.  Says Transcriptionist needed.  That one is for $25.

there are MANY links there to learn....sm

about the company - the VERY TOP of the page - I almost missed it myself.....but there's all kinds of info, FAQs, and contact page for any questions you might have that the website did NOT answer for you.

Geesh, you can lead a horse to water, you cannot make them drink it.

And no, I wasn't the poster of that website - it was your reaction that got me curious and so I went to that website and there is a lot of info there....only at the top of the page of the browser......

It is below but they pay links (ie CT abd and pel = 2 reports), and
specials are paid higher.

I think the range is 1.00-1.25 for regular reports and 2.00-3.50 for specials.
Not paid for links........
I work for KS and have been told that the hospital account I am on wont pay for for links. I guess it is up to each individual account?  So those long CT's get my goat up as they can be quite lengthy.  Am paid more for specials, but only get one or two per shift.  Been with them for only a couple months, like the account, like the company, but am feeling like $1.10 per report is not enough.  I plan to stay with them for a long while, perhaps ask for a raise down the road.

We get paid for links on the account I am on. sm
The specials that I get are all the shortest and the best. Ex: PICC line insertion. Right side. Give it a normal.

That may be true, but other companies use it. Med-Links for one. nm

I don't think so, I am making $2.00 per report with links.

Americans are getting fed up with it. My fear is with a blended company of U.S. and India bases, that healthcare providers will not trust that their records actuall are staying in the U.S.

that I found for you.  Potential employers are supposed to get written permission to check your credit report and also notify you if adverse action is taken based upon that report, i.e, you not getting the job, and there are penalties if they don't follow procedure. I wonder what they were looking for as pertains to getting an MT job, a lot of information there that not just everybody in the world needs to have, unless they were verifying employment history, SS#, whatever.  My husband has to fill out a form starting last year for government security and has to include all MY info too, which didn't set too well with me, but he said if I want him to have the job I better do it, like they need to know if I'm a security risk for him to take bribes or something, okie doke then....while you're at it, why don't you DO something about offshoring so we can keep decent jobs here....

Med-Links and DocuMed NJ info
Does anyone have any information on MedLinks of TN and DocuMed of NJ.  I do know there are 2 different DocuMeds.  Most posts do not differentiate between the two.  I think I read the bad DocuMed is in TN and good one is in NJ.  I can't find much at all about MedLinks of TN.  Thanks in advance for any information.  I sent my resume to MDI but haven't heard anything back......
I just hired on with Med-Links today ... sm
So far they're very professional and courteous. Decent line rate, IC flexibility, and use Bayscribe as a platform. The owner is an actual MT and understands our work process. Best of all, no weekend work. I almost fell out of my chair when she told me that ... :-).

Ask for the raise if the account doesn't pay links. You may be sm
pleasantly surprised. I did and got it and it made all the difference in the world to me. I talked to my lead who said that most accounts pay links and only a few don't. Those are all accounts they had for a while, she said before they knew to charge for them. All new accounts include them, which is great. I love working for Keystrokes!
You bill 30 days behind, and they snail mail it so it's late - about 40 days from invoice
No way jose - they even messed up their direct deposit payments
Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm

You can be fired for any reason or no reason at all.
No one HAS to employ you. No one MUST keep you in employment.

As an IC, your unemployment isn't coming from the account of your contracts! It comes from YOUR tax payments!

Would that be 5 business days or 5 regular days?
So when are we going to be paid this time around since you're so knowledgable?

Sorry, but for some of us a day or 2 actually makes a difference.
Most want 20 hours over 5 days, but it could be more, or it could be spread over 4 days. nm

It is true. Any job has its good days and bad days.
Perhaps you'd like to just keep your old job and try this one out. Just because a poster here is crabbing about it, or even if as in the past there have been negative posts, odds are that there are very happy people who don't even post or know that this board exists. As Alice says. Everything is relative. The fact that this company is hiring and pays may be a place which is a blessing. As opposed to digging ditches on day labor for example. Or somebody might prefer digging ditches. This is just an example. Sometimes we who are employable, even though we don't make as much as we used to in this business, or as much as we would like to, we still if working at home do not pay for gas to go to work, career clothes, deal with office politics, have to look at a boss who writes us up if we are a minute late, etcetera. I don't make half as much as I used to, but I don't send my 3 children to day care which by the way saves us money. SO I remind my husband I am worth that in addition to my salary if I had a job outside. No job is perfect. I am not even sure if Focus is any good or not, I have not worked there. But if one poster says there are good days and bad, I say that is the most honest answer you are going to get anywhere, and if you need a job badly, how is it to hurt trying it out, until you know for sure for yourself? THanks for listening. But sometimes this board gets to be a bit much with the agendas of people railing on other people like the OP here who just wanted all opinions instead of just one side. Balance is always great. And, if things seem lop-sided, then it is a good thing to seek out both sides. IMHO.
I think they would. Those are good days for 10-hour days. sm
I have a set schedule but it is Tues-Sat and it works well for me. It wouldn't hurt to ask!
90 days is correct. 3 days off 1st year, 10 during 2nd.

they are on the FORUM, as I said

new forum
As unscrupulous as they are at this company - please verify that you are not the current owners, or tech support. I know they are crafty enough to set up something like this to get the scoop on names of those speaking about them. They are in a jam, everybody is lying about us mode and are inane enough to think that if one person says something about them that they can confirm who the players are they can get them for slander. Of course slander or defamation of character is something that someone says that they know to be false.....have not heard a thing that cannot be proven - bad checks, no pay, etc.

I would love to join this forum, but confirming who I am is not giving me much relief that you are not them, and that they cannot join - I mean who knows more about their crap then they do?

Also how long before you respond to a sign up?
Thank you - that is what this forum is for!

MQ forum
Ahhh, wish you could too! One thing I can say,it is never boring. :)
New Forum
Not a bad idea. It's about time we turn the tables and take control of the industry. After all, they cannot serve clients without qualified MTs, and we should have a right to all the information we can acquire about them without blindly giving out our personal information. OMG, one company even wants the SS # in order to apply. I like your idea.
New forum
I ran across a fairly new board that you might be interested in at FOSTonline.com - maybe we could start one over there?
but, on MQ forum the other day
somone posted they were editing reports from india, the fourth time around as a matter of fact, and if the US MT submits too many in for QA they were on performance management.
MDI forum
So, are you saying that people loyal to MDI wouldn't be welcome? Do you just want a forum for people wanting to leave or for all MDI MTs? You could set up something on Yahoo groups and people could set up anonymous Yahoo emails to come in and I think the group administrator would have to allow or not allow people to join. Just wondering what kind of group specifically you want to start.
I don't think you have enough MTs to warrant your own forum.

Look on their very own forum page and see for yourself!

I guess it is all in how you look at it.  Everything you see on that page is neg, very little positive.  They are very strict about keep to your appointed scheduled.  No deviation incidentals like (Thunder and lightening, tornadoes, etc.).  They expect you to make it up.  Working in a pool from across the country.  Rarely in a primary account for more then a few jobs every shift.  Pay rate might be okay when compared to across the board with other companies, but what you have to put up doesn't make up for that.  Then, there is whole sale of the company thing, won't go there.  I personally do not want to work for a company that will eventually go completely to Indian workers, mabe not this week, but in the long run it will.

I think you would get a lot of people telling you to run as fast as you can.  Read the board for yourself and make your own informed decision.

Good Luck in your search.

Transtech forum
What is transtech's forum site address?  Also, does VR work at Transtech usually pay better than transcribing?  I'm thinking of training for that.
I propose a new forum (sm)

In thinking about all the comments made about us making a positive change for this profession, I thought of one suggestion.  What if we ask for a new forum on this board called Recruiting, to actually help those of us who are looking for jobs.  We can post questions, and the recruiters of various companies who post jobs on the job boards can frequent this board and give us true and honest answers to those questions.  This way, we would have direct access to finding out the facts, rather than just relying on what sometimes ends up just being Run away fast type of answers posted by disgruntled MTs.  They can answer questions about platforms, hiring processes, etc. If companies have nothing to hide, then they shouldn't shy away from such discussions.  What do you all think?
