root of the problem is the offshoring that can/will be done if we don't perform.  Too many offshore entities just waiting to grab our work.

LOL Sit tight? Sit tight as you're
Indian MT workforce and I'm sure they are most appreciative for your labor.
Hosp's. would HAVE to pay more if we could stem
by continuing to sound off to anyone in this country that will listen. Why should the US worker subsidize offshore companies by sitting and watching their futures in MT dry up?
You do understand that TATs are by contract? That sm
companies pay penalties on even a single report that goes out, sometimes as much as 50% of what they have paid the MT? That companies overstaff b/c of MTs who don't show up or have an emergency? That they like to have MT resumes available for the inevitable newly hired MTs who have over-represented their skills and cannot make it through the QA process, or can't / won't work the shift they are hired for?

Yes, companies do overhire in anticipation of new business, but it isn't as simple as you make out here.
I think the market is really tight right now. sm

I've been looking for work for a couple of weeks now and haven't had much in the way of offers.  The few offers I have had have been really low cpl, like 5-6 cpl for subcontractor positions.

Keystrokes appears to be hiring and I've heard they have good line rates.  They hire only employee, no IC from what I've been told.  But, you may want to give them a try.

THe question is with that situation if they run a tight TAT are you going to be able to get those
lines. I think starting at a low base rate depending on extra lines to get money at MQ is a bad deal especially on DQS.
Are we all from the same office. I am from Amherst and they run such a tight TAT time anything runs
us out of work even a doctor coughing a few extra times and we are out of work.
