They won't. It is common for a company to be bashed into the ground once it seems people are hap

I knew it was going to happen once I saw the positive posts about Keystrokes. Some people obviously get sick thrills from stirring the pot.

I hope they're happy now. I am sure Keystrokes will miss out on some great MTs because they won't apply due to the posts that have been put the last few days.

Can't anyone accept that there really is a good company out there?

Don't let it get to you. Every day it is a new company that is being bashed. sm
Those of us who are happy at Keystrokes know we have a good thing going. Those who either didn't cut it, were never hired or continue to job hop are never going to be happy anywhere or if they are, it is for a short time and they come on here and bash the company they went to.

One of the posters on here is someone that I know well and she used to post positive things about how she left MQ for KS, left KS to go back to MQ, left MQ again to go to KS and now complains that they did not give her a good account. Would you? Personally, I would make someone who leaves and comes back prove themself. I just listen to her vent when we talk and move on, knowing that the next time we talk, it will be to vent about the new company she went to. And so it continues ...
but a great post - my company gets bashed all the time too.
    nm
Nope. We just get sick and tired of our company getting bashed
at every turn. We love this place and have run out of patience with posters like this who clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

Have you never lost your patience?
Its common when a company supplies
The two I've worked for that supplied computers monitor usage and especially monitor if you're using it for any non-work related surfing.  They also reserve the right to come on remotely and check your system for any problems, security violations, unauthorized hardware/software additions, etc.  It is their property so I guess they have the right to say how and when it gets used.
You may never - seems this is common from this company - how unprofessional & rude

I so wholeheartedly agree with you. Don't work for KS but work for SS - another company bashed
Works GREAT for me and I love SS. I never really care what the negatives are as I have found they are usually people that can't make their lines, don't work the hours they commit to or just overall do not care!
    Hold your ground everybody
They should only be able to get newbies or Indians for that rate.  It seems like a lot of companies are hopping on the bandwagon to try to get away with offering lower and lower rates.  I have noticed some companies later on bringing their rates back up a bit though - probably because they can't get any good MTs at that rate - so HOLD YOUR GROUND!!!  I think it's doing some good already.  I also recently read that some doctors and hospitals are requesting that they work be transcribed in the US only - which is good news!
Stand your ground and tell them you would like to
If they don't tell you then move on to the next company.  For the posting below re: depending on how you test determines your salary.  I would never work for a company that did that.  It is not fair.  Many of us are great transcriptionist, but test horribly.  If a company makes you angy or they don't answer your question, then keep on truckin', there are plenty of them out there!  Good Luck
    Middle ground
I know how you feel.  Many of us are taking antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications.  I'll bet our collective plight has done wonders for the pharmaceutical industry's profit margin.  I can't tell you what to do, but it won't hurt you to look around and you likely can find a better employee situation with better benefits.  Taking action is a good antidepressant as well.  Try not to be in a slump.  Stay active and proactive.  I know it's easier said than done.
Please tell me where I have constantly bashed
Axolotl.  Do you have me confused with someone else?
I will probably be bashed by the naysayers,

but I'll answer anyway.  I work Sun-Thu on 1 account at MDI.  I am committed to 800 lpd but my account is always needing extra help.  This Saturday alone, my day off mind you, I got in an extra 800 lines.  Now before I am accused of stealing other people's lines, we were asked to work extra on the account to keep it in turnaround time.  My hours vary from day to day - but since I'm only committed to 800 lpd, I can usually get them in in under 4 hours.  I generally work an hour in the morning (9-10), 2 hours in the afternoon (1-3) and 1 hour in the evening usually after 9 or 10.  No weird graveyard hours or anything.

I guess your experience at MDI would really depend on the account you get.  I guess I must be one of the lucky ones because my experience with MDI has been great thus far.  I hope it continues.  For those who are hitting a rough spot, I hope it smooths out.

I really don't have anything negative to say about MDI.  For that, I'll be bashed on this board, but that's okay because I've got tough skin.

That post bashed 7 companies, and
went on to say the good companies never get mentioned. Well whose fault is that? I'm working for one of the 7 due to word of mouth. If you had posted about a better company, maybe I'd have applied there. But do you actually know what these better companies are? Instead of bashing companies, you should be praising the good ones. Now that would be helpful!

Otherwise it sounds like you're just telling fairy tales.
It would be all-consuming to get a union going from the ground up. Could you give

I agree wholeheartedly! I stand my ground. USA only. sm
I have had clients threaten to look elsewhere for a lower price and I tell them, please do so. I have to agree with you here, they always come back willing to pay the rate and happy to have the quality and service I provide.

I have never lost a client forever to offshore, will never offshore, and sooner or later all MT work will be back on US soil again. Believe me, it will happen eventually.
Then they need to stand their ground, grow a spine,
    .
Keep your options open, keep your ears to the ground

I am still really amazed about that MT who bashed the co this week for being fired because of her
poor quality! You rarely see an MTSO fire an MT because of poor quality (boy would I love to see it having seen some of the poor quality that is sent to the facilities) because there are some who are just given so many chances that they do not deserve. They need to be weeded out and continue to be weeded out and for one to publicly come on here and bash an MTSO for doing what they had to do really has stuck in my mind.

I still think MTSOs really need to be a cut above the MTs when it comes to going off but yes I do understand that sometimes they just have to say something.
I think that it is a cop-out. The companies that stand their ground will prevail in the long run.
    nm
absolutely true! mama's boy trying to run the buisness into the ground.....so very sad!
    nm
I agree! Too busy to be on here and too disgunted with being bashed to want to open myself up sm
to that anymore. Happy at Keystrokes, that's all I need to say.
Email me for details. Don't feel like getting bashed on here today!

You're welcome! I find being on the ground floor of an account has its advantages, don't you?
There definitely is a difference and if you want to spend countless minutes searching for docs, countless spellings, then you are not making sense, constantly learning ESLs, then your are in training and not making the mortgage. I post here about inequities I have found and hope they help. Surely, no Transcriptionist is going to go my opinion alone, but if I am not making money and someone asks and I have been there I will try to give them something to ponder. Being on the ground floor of a company or account has its advantages and surely you know that. Thank you for reading my post.
I'm guessing the reason these companies won't put their names is afraid they will get bashed.
I'm not sure why else they wouldn't be proud enough to put their company name. Pretty sad..
People would rather the company be (sm)
2 days behind in their work to insure work for all.  Doesn't work that way.
    Company no, people yes
I don't know about the company itself, but I do know personally people who work there and they are just the kindest, nicest people you'd ever want to work with and for. No, I don't work there, mainly because there are no openings in what I do, but you shouldn't hesitate in applying.
How many people (and for what company) (sm)
actually keep a manual log of all jobs you do?
Perhaps they are the only MT's at the company. How many people
    @!&
I liked the people who ran the company
General info needed, such as their general pay rates, flexibility in schedules, direct deposit, pay on time, and anything else that may be helpful.

My pay rate was 7 cpl for an easy ortho acct. I'm guessing it could range between 7 and 8 cpl, but ask and I'm sure you will get an answer. Flexibility wise, they want their work back within the agreed TAT. No direct deposit was available and I don't remember having a late pay. They give you your work and leave you alone, which is good if you don't like to be hounded. I had to give them up because of other commitments, and now work outside the house, but wouldn't hesitate to work for them again if it weren't for me working away from home.
I know 3 people in the company
the owner, Kristal and my immediate boss. I know of no others who work there- I was told when you assume it is usually wrong and this is what has happened with my being taken for an owner?/boss?/higher up? - as far as stealing, have no knowledge of things going on. It is strange the posters seem to have so much more information than me. I do my work, keep my nose to the grindstone and stay out of other's business. I happen to love my job- even after my retirement in a few months I still hope to work there. Prayers going up.
That is exactly how quick this company can get people going.
This company truely is one of the best. I feel like I am honestly part of a great family!
I see people asking what the best company is, so I am going to turn the tables here. What would sm

a company be the best.  What type of rate would you want realistically?  Benefits?  IC or employee?  Direct deposit important?  What pay schedule - weekly, every other Friday, 1st and 15th, once a month?  What makes you stay at a company?  What makes you leave?  Equipment?  Training?  QA?  Etc???

Can someone tell me what ATS stands for for the transcription company that people have
    talked about.
Apparently this company takes people for a
    xx
So, Yes, they were once OmniMed, meaning the same people. Thought so! BAD company! x
    x
Yes, they are a decent company. Different personalites, overall good people. nm

in case you were not aware, some people will not work for a company who
outsources overseas. precyse does this quite heavily.

even though this board has 'flip-flopped' and now agrees with this practice, it is still driving our rates way down and has damaged our trust.

I have done two reports on individuals working with homeland security just this past week...hmmm, I wonder if they realize how vulnerable they would be having their 'vital information' shipped overseas for ANYONE to see. bet if they have a choice, their work is done here, and WHY WOULD THAT BE? Why would these people be more important than we are?
Proscript is a wonderful company, great people. nm
    x
Second the motion.. Nice people.. Best company I have worked for.
They really care about their employees and it shows..
A company full of people on a power trip!
Absolutely correct, as well as the fact that most people who move up in that company are totally unqualified butt-kissers.

    Yep.
What people are saying about Keystrokes is not hype like another company posted, this is really how
You cannot go wrong. They are as honest as the day is long.
TO PEOPLE WHO E MAILED ME FOR MY COMPANY (INCLUDING THE SOLICITOR)

I am sorry I can not state my company.  They are very small, only about 150 MTs, and they are not hiring right now.  I did see them post twice when I was looking, though.  Watch for the small U.S. Only job posts here on MT Stars.

To the solicitor from Infraware Platforms, I am in the MT business, not the IT business.  I very nearly did give out the name of my company, and now I am glad I did not!

I am not her spokesperson just happy with the company I work for and upset that people can be so sm

misleading because the fit was not good for them.

If you have been on these boards a while, you would know that she always posts her name.  I emailed her today to tell her what was happening on here, and the response I got back was she does not even look on here as it is too upsetting and has promised herself not to come and look.  She has too much else to do with her time and defending herself and her company is always misinterpreted.  She basically told me I should spend more time working or with my family than spending time on this soap opera.

It is better to not care and let people form their own opinions.  Everyone takes the postings with a grain of salt anyway.  I think it is sad that she has to be so tough-skinned.
Do tell. I find it interesting in what some people like and dislike in a company. Could you share
    more about your experience...
Decent company, good people, pay on time, work low sometimes. nm
    x
Probably some people will move on and the company saves on benefit pkgs. (sm)

Telling us work is coming in at some time in the future is fine, but right now we have lost more than we have gained and  like you said, if we speed up we will run out quicker.  Not to mention that we will all have to work a little harder in order to make nearly the same as we did before.  Panic will make our fingers work even faster.

Remember the memo we got about over-editing.  Bet your butt we won't be over editing in the future.  If this ISR is so good, it shouldn't need too much now should it?

    It is a common
phenomena that QA is inconsistent in any company. One QA gives 100%, the next one gives 75% accuracy, and worse you can get 25%. They ought to standardize QA. Hey what about a QA checking another QA's output...hahahaha....to kinda bring them off their pedestals.
how common is it to not

hear back after resigning (with notice) ME/MT position? What do you do, send another note? Not say anything?

    Thanks a lot,

    Brit.

    is this common?
    nm
    this is very common

I spoke with one person who was looking to incorporate VR into his business (his parent's business has been operating for about 15-20 years, and he is trying to upgrade them).  He said that doctors just don't dictate correctly for VR to work properly.

I know that I had the same problem you had.  Did you also notice that the company pays less with Edit mode than typing, so it takes you longer to do to the work and you get paid less, and the company keeps more?  It behooves the company to keep the VR; it puts more into their pocket and less in yours, without them having to deal with the headache of making sure the reports are right.

That's more common than you might
    xxxx
It's more common than you think.
My sister has a lot of medical problems, including hemophelia A. It is very rare for a woman to have this, but she has it none the less. Anyways, pharmacies have frequently messed up her medications. One time it was the hospital pharmacy after she had surgury. That mistake could have lead to life-threatening complications. My point is that these kinds of mistakes are more common than you think, and patients need to be very proactive with their care.
