you just basically gave the same answer .sm
which is not good enough. Someone's credit could be shot BECAUSE OF SOMEONE ELSE. Then what?
Why? I am an MT. I don't want to file or answer phones, and if they gave me something else to d
they would have to take the work from someone else. Why would they do that? MTs make a lot more than Med Rec clerks. Make the MTs take their PTO and pay the Med Rec clerks their lower wage. Not pretty but realistic.
Hey, Donna D. asked a question and I gave an answer...
so why don't you smite Donna D. for keeping the thread going.
hey, the OP gave her a little info but she can't take the

Yes i have, they called me and gave me info nm

No clue. That's the info they gave me. sm

They are in Farmington, NM. Cannot find a web site for them or anything with the BBB.

I was answering Colleen....
in the first place. If YOU wanted a specific answer then you should've asked, but I find YOU NM quite rude.
She gave the name of the company.

Colleen. There is only 1 Davis Transcription
and yes you have it correct.
My (different) company gave us that "you'll
2 years later, I'm less productive, not more, on that godawful, 'new-and-improved' platform.
I gave initials in original message and it was deleted because this company
has its own board, even though the only statement was that she formerly worked for _ _. I think that is going way overboard in monitoring and deleting, but then I disagree with a phone calls being monitored, too
I worked briefly (emphasis on brief) for a company once who gave in-house sm

employees more benefits than the people at home, stating that working at home was a benefit in and of itself, and, unfortunately, those needing to work at home because of family or other reasons apparently bought into it.  And yes, somewhere along the way, a lot of people have seen medical transcription at home as a bunch of mommies sitting in their jammies, bouncing babies on their knees.  Not that there is anything wrong with it, but I think that is sometimes why they feel free to pay low wages, give little or no benefits, etc.  They view it as mommy making pin money or whatever.  For most of us, obviously, that is not the case.  The women I know who work at home and have children are every bit as professional as someone you'd find in an office.

I pointed out to this company that by working at home instead of in their office, I saved them the money for office space and the need to provide equipment, office furniture, resource materials, etc., and I didn't understand how that added up to me getting LESS benefits than those in-house.  Needless to say, I did not stay long.

I do not have children.  I work at home simply because I can make more money beign paid by the line than being paid by the hour, which is what is offered for in-house positions where I live.  When my mom began having health problems a few years ago, it was a blessing as I was able to flex my time and be there for her when she needed me, so I fully understand how much moms appreciate having the flexibility to be there for their families.  It is sad in general how much the pay scale and benefits have gone down for the profession over the years.  I made more 15 years ago than I make today, but then again there was not the competition from overseas, voice recognition, etc. back then.  I guess everything changes and all we can do is try to adapt.

As I am writing this, I realize I probably got way off topic.  Guess I should get ready for my shift and burn off some of this energy.   Hope everyone has a happy productive day.  Remember, we're all on the same side.

Constructive Criticism

When I was first starting out in the real working world, I had a hard time with any kind of criticism.  There are a lot of people who cannot take any kind of criticism.

If someone is not doing what they are supposed to do, whether it be working their schedule, not producing the required lines or not meeting quality, then I believe something should be said.  It is that particular MTs issue if they are not performing the way they should.  A lot of MTs take offense when anything is said to them, even if they are in the wrong.

I have been with Axolotl for a long time.  I have had issues and I have had MT correspondences throughout my employment.  BUT, it was my fault and I realized that.  During this time, I have never been talked to in an unprofessional manner.

Axolotl expects the best from their employees but they also treat their employees better than anywhere I have ever been employed.  If you do what is expected of you, nothing will be said to you.  I go weeks without any kind of correspondence either by e-mail or IM on a personal basis.

Then tell us what you know, not just "run from them."

Evidently you don't take constructive criticism well. sm
Doing emotional, impulsive, unprofessional things in business will always make you lose. To top it off, you've done these things and used your name on the boards. I'm amazed you would think this company should let you use their email to spread negativity about the company. All combined, you're not too bright, are you?
This may be a joke to your, Jen, but it is not, please comment when you have some constructive to sh
I worked for the flavor of the month last month after waiting 3 months to get on and found it no different than the last 2 nationals. I used to make 60,000 in this profession and now have not had a raise in 5 years and am certainly not making 60,000 and haven't in 6 years. I have listened to mothers who could not buy Christmas presents for their kids when Spheris reassessed all the hospitals at Christmas time several years ago and everyone took a 200-300 a month decrease in pay, myself included, and cars were being repossessed and electricity shut off.

Another national I was working for lost the account I had been on for 2 years and did not even tell use for 5 days although they knew, and then threw me onto a very established account they had that had gone VR and I had never done VR and my paycheck dropped in half.

Another company I worked for recently (the last flavor of the month)did not tell me they were Federal expressing my first pay check and not automatic depositing it (I bank out of town and would have remembered something like that)and did not even put my apartment # on it. This was this Christmas and it took a week to find where it was after my rent could not be paid, automatic withdrawals for car insurance, phone, etc bounced and my daughter had to help me so I could eat. They said they would cover those charges but they didn't.

If you think some of these stories are funny and would put a comment like you just did about flavor of the month, then you may just be a sociopath. There are middle of the road in speed Transcriptionist who are accurate and deserve a place in transcriptionist, and very fast transcriptionists who are accurate too. Many, many very good transcriptionists with lots of experience have gotten out of this profession because of the untruths these companies will tell you to get you to come with them, they don't care if you last 2 months and make no money, they got some typing done, and they just keep putting ads out.

I wish I had read this months posts about a certain company a few months ago when as you say it was a flavor of the month, and I would not have waited 3 months to get on with them, then had Christmas ruined and finally having to quit because again it was no different than the last national I had worked for. i don't care if the people are nice to me if I cannot pay my rent, pay my car insurance (maybe you think having a car is an extravagance for transcriptionists). I even did without a car for 3 years until last summer and when I got some stability on the account with Transcend (I was on it for 2 years)and they lost it, and thrown into VR with their horrible VR program, my pay checks decreased to half. These are reality stories lady.

Keystrokes is not flavor of the month, I have not been lied to by them, and although this is not a perfect world, it is the difference in night and day between some other companies I have been associated with.

Why not offer constructive advice...
There is no reason to be so hateful!
Thanks for the info! Would you answer
another question, please? Do they fire you for not making a line count when the work is not available?
I don't mean to be a cheerleader but I am really tired of seeing others post "RUN" SM
Or say things like there's NEVER ANY WORK when there is work for maybe different ESL levels, accounts, etc. Sorry for being overly enthusiastic but this is such a good company, and I think a few bad apples who left the company previously cannot wait to bad-mouth it.

I think i will just butt out and let everyone go to work someplace crappy, and count my blessings.

Sorry if I came across too strong for anyone; i just like it here so darn much and have had such a positive experience OVERALL.
I once gave my notice when I was in a non-MT position, gave

2 weeks, but the person I was supposed to train felt like she knew my job better than I did (although she knew squat) and was a pain to deal with, never on time, etc. so I only worked about a week of my notice before I left and told the person I was supposed to train that since she knew more than I did have at it.  Anyway the owner wouldn't pay me for vacation.  I filed a complaint with the labor board and they were more than happy to get my money for me.

Breitner can threaten all they want to.  If you can document that you are owed monies, if Breitner can't prove that you aren't owed monies the labor board will be glad to collect your money.  I would also file a complaint with the Attorney General .   I have heard several people have had payment issues with them while the still worked for them.  If people are willing to let them get away with it by just chalking it up to experience, then they will continue to try to get away with it.  I'd contact the IRS too.   I don't know what Breitner thinks they can do to you - let them threaten all they want to.  A word of advice - DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT.

There have been multiple postings by someone saying "RUN" who admits they used to work here. s
I'm done. You won't see me here for a long time.

Thanks for the scolding. I try to look on the bright side of life, but apparently by doing so I'm being presumptuous.

If you say which company, we might be able to answer more accurately.

That's the company's bogus answer
I work every Saturday 10a-2p and come back and do 10p-2a. On Sundays, I usually do a fairly similar schedule. I have primary responsibility for two hospital accounts, one a very large teaching hospital and the other a mid-size community hospital. I could count one hand the number of STATs I get from both hospitals either day, and even that would be a really busy STAT day for the pair. For whatever reason, you want to buy into management's BS, but the only person you're fooling is yourself.
NM, saw the answer on the Company board. Congrats!
.
I work for the company and to answer some of your questions
When you talk about flexible, what do you mean, working whenever you want or just what? I might get slammed for it but do not care but companies need to be able to set some kind of schedules to get their work done, so dont know exactly what kind of flexibility you want. How long to make money? Well, again that has all to do with the person working. Are you a newbie with 3 months experience or have you worked 20+ years and doing the work is like taking candy from a baby? Variables. Is is worth accepting a job there, depends on you. I work there, have for about 3 years, love it but everyone is different.
I'm like to know the answer to her post also. I have worked for an MT company in NY state,
and while I lived in another state at that time, I received full benefits; Ic or employee status had no bearing on receiving benefits.  If I were the original poster, I would check this company out very thoroughly. Something just doesn't sound right tax-wise.
company does not answer e-mails or phone calls

Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you have experienced this.  I use to work for this company full-time.  I went to part-time because we were running out of work and I decided to go back to school (because I am tired of this game with having work and then running out).............

Anyway when I dropped to part-time, my insurance was cancelled (which I know happens) but the premiums are still being taken out of my check.  I have 2 checks now with those premiunms being taken out.............I have called payroll and left e-mails (this lady never responds)............now I am thinking this illegal...........

Feedback please.  I would like to stay on with this company part-time but...........

Email me privately. I think we work for the same company and I have an answer for you.
I went through all of this about 6 months ago and if it's the same company I'll give you the lowdown.
can't anyone answer my question - what's with all the puffy "love the company" comments
I didn't ask if this is a good company to work for.
how do we work it? Easy answer - work for another company. That happened with the company
I was working for. I would wake up at 4 a.m. AND ON THE WEEKENDS TOO because they needed "coverage" supposedly and I would sit until 9:30 or noon without any work. Sorry, but my rent of $1450/month could not be paid with only $57/day. So I got another job and when I got the equipment and everything, then I quit for the other employer.
TT management does not answer questions that you ask them; only answer those they want to answer.

I know, work for a long time and tried asking questions, but they just beat around the bush and don't answer the true question that you presented to them.

Maybe it is kite flying weather where you are !!!

I work for 2 … gives a little bit of security for those "run out of work" times. nm

One post was another "run" type of post and the
the recruiter. Once you are in with the company, the recruiter has nothing to do with you or your job. I want specifics about problems with THE JOB, not the recruiter.  Specifics such as no or late checks, line counts being messed up, no work, taking bennies away with no explanation. Things that matter, not the recruiter.
I can answer that question with a simple answer!
Strengths - none.
Weakness - all.
AllHealth in GA - Good company, good equipment, any info about this company? (sm)

Does anyone know any info about a company called Archivus?  Thank you.

Need info on this company....

Hi:

I just agreed verbally to sign on with e-Tranz and decided to look at the archives and did not like what I see. If anyone has any current info on what it is like to work for this company please email me off the board at Irishbunnylynn@yahoo.com.

info on this company
Hello my fellow MTs I am at a crossroads with my current position as a radiology transcription position.  My hours are 10 hours shift SSMT.  I have been working this position with Spheris for three years.  I love working for Spheris but they have been stringing me along with finding me an account that is M-F.  I have received a job offer from Ascend with a good increase in pay.  I just need some info on this company if there is any.  Thanks so much and God bless those storm victims.
info on that company
I have information on that company.  Have you accepted a position with them yet?  Please e-mail me for more information.
company info

Has anyone heard of TTS company in New Hampshire.  If so, how are they at paying and work load??

Thanks

I don't have any info on either company,
but just in general, I would think you would be able to make more $$ doing clinic work at 1 cent more per line.  But of course there are a lot of variables like what kind of platform, what your experience is in, etc.
Any info on this company?

Has anyone any info on WNC (also known as Medical voice Techology Services)?  They have a job posted on the job board.  I couldn't locate any info in the Archives except another asking this same question back in 2004 and she didn't get an answer.

Thanks.

Does anyone any info on a company
I would like to know your overall opinion in terms of work, pay, etc. TIA

?? Re: Job ads w/o company name/info SM

Just wondering what others thought about the ads that don't really give any company name or details....Do you feel safe sending them your resume/information?  Do you send a sanitized version of your resume, or do you just not bother with the ad?

I see a couple a couple ads on the job board now that could fit my needs, but I'm reluctant because of the no info thing.

Anyone have info on the company looking for
I Emailed and haven't heard anything back.
