UNITE based on what we have in common. If more Americans understood this concept our representatives in Congress would work for US and not the corporations who control (most of) them.

Think of an independent contractor in this field like any other - if you hire a painter or a plumber you negotiate service, price and a schedule. If the contractor is doesn't keep their part of the bargain you can fire them and get someone else. But most folks negotiate minor alterations to price or schedule knowing we ARE ALL HUMAN.

And many ICs negotiate with a contractor who makes mistakes from time to time as well. The bottom line is this: If you let them treat you like an employee, many will, and then you just have to decide how long you want to bend...

Sometimes it's worth it sometimes it isnt.

I doubt the MTSO's want to answer to questioning from the IRS about this issue.

ASK up front what type of flexibility there is and don't give up your day job until you see if they are people of their word.
