i don't know if it is allowed to ask this, but if you can answer, what are some of the companies you all work for and which do you think are the best/worst of what is out there?

I did too long-time MT before MT killed my body and I had to do QA.
There are always folks who have to belittle those who know their stuff but fact is, it can be done. I even used to do $52 an hour on weekends when I was paid 13.5 cents a gross line. I could easily do 400+ lines an hour. In any event, I am a veteran who has been in the business well over 30 years and don't have to look up spellings, get it right the first time, knew my accounts and that's how WE do it. There are those I know who do it now and they are very valuable in this industry. Those who cannot do it, will get there one day but are not there yet and it is hard for them to believe, but we know :)
Dictaphone killed our jobs too by promoting VR as...
a money saver, not caring about quality or lawsuits, just the elimination of American workers.
Out of curiosity......

Since the acquisition of Cymed, how many MTs at SPi have lost their jobs or had their workload lightened?

I have heard already from at least eight MTs who have had all of their work taken from them.   Just curious.

I also have heard from three editors who have lost their jobs completely.

Just out of curiosity..
How many accounts are you on? I'm on 6 now and I'm hoping that's enough to keep me busy as full time. I have been part time for the last year and did have to take a ton of time off since November.
Out of curiosity...

I myself have 14,159 in ShortHand and still add every day.

It's an obsession.

just out of curiosity what is sm
a lot of money.  Its subjective I would like to take a little survey and see what everyone classifies as alot of money.  Just purely out of curiosity and to lighten things up a little around here.

Do you two happen to work for the same company by any chance? That would be an interesting twist.
Just out of curiosity, why are you leaving? nm

Curiosity, if anyone hears back from Jax sm
would you post? That is the strangest episode here on MTstars, isn't it? I would like to know the truth of the matter, just because!
With all due respect and just out of curiosity, why settle for this garbage pay? Go elsewhere..sm
preferably with a company who appreciates an experienced and quality MT. As long as they have enough U.S. MT's to work for these wages, our pay scale will continue to decline.
