eScription accounts slower so I'm looking for may some other type of software to use.  If you love eScription, what other software do you really like?  I'd prefer something Word-based.   Thanks for any ideas!

for new baysribe users,
if your volume isn't high enough, click on the speaker in the icon tray and up the volume from there. remember, if you have problems, contact liaison or tech-ie, as they can help! too bad original poster left MDI for that reason...
Thank you all !! (MedRite users)

I copy/pasted your replies.  Dang.  I have made up many quick referral lists, such as a list for various medications catagory like GI, cardiac, cholesterol, etc  so I can find quickly all made in MS WORD. Will have to thunk on this.

thanks again for responsing.

MedRite XL users - please tell about this platform!?? sm

I haven't worked on the MedRite XL for Windows platform. I  did work on the DOS platform years ago.   To be honest, I forget how it was.  After a while, all of these platforms run together.

Could you tell ME if it is user friendly, productive, can you look up patient reports, search for certain dictator's reports, etc.  Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your input.

Emdat users--have a question, please sm
I am trying to test for a company and followed their instructions to download and install Emdat, which went fine. After installing it, however, Emdat has been stuck on Please Wait, Checking for Upgrades for over an hour now. I have tried it twice, with the same result.

Is this normal? I don't want to email the employer that there is a problem unless I have covered the bases.

Thanks!
Question for MedRite users
If this accurate, if you have Med-Rite open (MS-WORD based) and you minimize Med-Rite and go into a MS Word document in your PC, that you have lists save on, you cannot do this as MedRite freezes???
They had an ad here in Jan. for ExText users at 7.5-8cpl. Applied twice and never

Question on VR board. Any Dragon users?

Just be aware that not all Escription accounts pay the same. I worked for one company on Escription
struggling to maybe make $50 in 8-10 hours. I didnt know the difference as that was my first job on that platform and I just thought it was not a money maker. Then, I switched companies. I average $20-30 an hour and once I made $50 in an hour. I tried yet another company and I was lucky to make $9 an hour. The bottom line is that not all companies are alike, even though they use the Escription platform. What I have found is that goes according to how they set it up i.e. paying for footers, headers, spaces etc. Just dont be shocked if you dont make what you think you will. The companies know how to set it to where it benefits them and not you. As is the norm, not all companies are created equal out there regardless if they all use the same platform. That is what I am getting out.. Good luck.
ExText Users: Can we look up line counts per report?

Current Vonage/Dictaphone users question (sm)

I have been using Vonage with a Dictaphone for 2 years now - with no problem at all.

Recently, in the last few days, the phone line goes dead several times in the day - and occasionally the foot pedal stops working.

I called Vonage, and they reset everything and said I should not be having a problem.  I found out other MT with Vonage who work for us are having the same problem.

Is anyone else having this problem?  We are trying to decide if it is a Vonage problem or not.

Thanks for your input.

Dictaphone EX Text users. I have a question I need help with on Technical Board.. Thanks

This company sounds great, but they don't accept satellite users. :(

Other than that, from what I can see, they provide equipment/software, etc.  Sounds like a really great company.  I would apply if they could look over the satellite situation. I have had no problems with three other companies using satellte.

do you have any certain software...sm

to do your own line count on, or is there some way to do it w/o any special software? I'd like to check mine out!

What software were you using? nm

Software
Anyone know what software All Type uses?
Yes, you use their software that
incorporates your version of Word into, so you have all your auto correct, etc.
It's VR software.

I hated it at first but I've gotten used to it and hate typing the old way now.

software
Thanks.  Is extext the same as dictaphone extext?.  I will be working with a company shortly that uses dictaphone extext and someone had e-mailed me stating you can also use ShortHand if you like with dictaphone extext.  Could you please give me some information on where I can find ShortHand since it is something it sounds like I could use.  Thank you so much.  I would appreciate it!

Chartnet at SPI/Cymed is the best platform I have ever worked on. I worked on ExText for many years before and Chartnet is more efficient. I think SPI bought the rights to it (not 100% on this) so I don't think any other companies have it.
what software
platform do they use?
Everyone will have to use the same software?
I hope it is Editscript. It is the easiest to work on. At least the of ones I have used.
Do not pay for software
They are making the profit. I doubt very much that you are a principal or stockholder in the company. That being the case, why should you bear the financial burden. Again, don't enable this kind of bad behavior. There are plenty of honest and decent companies out there. This does not sound like it is one of them.
They have a software
and you have to use that software so it takes a lot of time. For every report you have to open up that software, search for the MT, search for other stuff and type the corrections in that form instead of on the report itself. That stuff gets sent to the MT. You get credit for only 15 lines for blanks no matter how many blanks there are.

The only time you get credit for the whole report is if you do a full listen and they are on full QA. Major ripoff.
No, just the software.
Email me if you want more info.

Software?
Perhaps they are getting ready to change software, platform, or make some changes with their programs.

I've heard that DaVenture Health Partners was recently made an approved vendor, but as of today they are not posted on the eScription website yet.
Escription????
Has anyone out there worked on Escription?  If so, what are your thoughts.  Can you make any money at it since it pays so much less?
Escription
Does anyone know of any companies that use Escription, OTHER than Transcend and MDI-FL?  Thanks in advance.

MDI-FL ad for escription MTs?

Anyone work there that can give me more details? What's the pay for editing there, dictators, atmosphere, etc? Also what about the radiology ad? Do they pay by report or by line? Thanks for any help.

Escription
Do any of you use this platform?  Do you like it?  Is is productive?  Can you give a time frame for the learning curve?  Any replys greatly appreciated.......thanks.
eScription
EditScript is Word based. It's very easy to learn. Works with Word AutoCorrect to save your shortchuts, etc. Very reliable from a technical point of view. Our facility just went live about 98 days ago, all 22 MTs are loving it. Most have already increased their productivity from our old ChartScript days. Does a really good job with speech recognition even with some horrible dictators - consistency among the MTs is key to that success.

Very nice platform, very MT friendly !

Escription
That sounds great.  I appreciate you letting me know that.......I needed to hear something positive.
Escription
I used to work where they had escription but was paid hourly at that point because we had just gotten it. Sorry no help. Good luck!
What is escription? nm

Their pay is low for escription, which is
probably why they are always running an ad.
Escription
USUALLY, not always, the doctor puts in the MR number which automatically pulls in the patient name. Some companies have you do a type of search using that number to pull in the DOS, DOB, location, referring doc all at once.
Pay escription
I'm a little confused by the pay. It sounds like they convert edited lines into a percentage of typed lines so you aren't getting paid a per line for editing. I think.
escription
What company pays the best for escription?????  You can get through the reports fast but cannot seem to make the money as well as I can typing!  I like the fact the hands get a break but come on!
Escription
it's okay after you get used to it - haven't come close to the 600 lines per hour that you are supposed to do - and pay for editing is less than half of transcription line pay - but you definitely do not have to type as much - less stress on your hands and wrists.
