??? Hist latest book

All you James Patterson fans out there, if you've read his latest, "You've Been Warned," please tell me your take on it.  He is one of my favorite authors, but this book left me hanging.  It keeps hyping and building the reader up; you think, 'surely the next chapter will explain everything,' but it never does.  So many weird things happen throughout the book that are never explained, and the ending, well that was just plain weird.

I read this book also. Wonderful book.

Yep, but that is not all… the latest
This "mother" has been seen out in the video store shopping, has been treated for mental disorders (well, duh, that was hard to figure out)and the doctor responsible for the invitro has just "helped" another woman who has, I think 4 children already with 4 more embryos just waiting to hatch anytime.
I would say: 24 to 37, latest....nm

My latest funny . . .
"The patient is a 64-year-old woman involved in a motor vehicle accident where she hit a pole. The pole was not injured."
you can only have one will, the latest one written...

You can have one will from one departed person per beneficiary...

If Anna had 7 wills for Daniel from herself, they have to go by the latest dated one.........

Had to laugh at the latest guy, who said he had
'too much pressure from his multi-million-dollar salary' they were paying him. So he felt it was necessary to bulk up on the 'roids and cheat.

Here's my answer to the steroid problem in sports: TAKE AWAY THEIR BLOATED, OVER-PAID SALARIES!

After all - these guys make their living playing a GAME. Maybe they should be doing it more for the love of their sport, and less for the *rock-star* money.
Latest on megamom, OMG
Supposedly Angelina Jolie had been contacted in the past by this megamom and Jolie is supposedly "creeped out" by this. Megamom's  representative says if this litter was born 3 or 4 years ago people would have been more giving of their money.
Latest on Britney....check it out

On Friday night, Britney Spears sported a bald head and new tattos.  (ABC News)

I agree with latest post
It would be ideal if you could handle it with your SIL, but not always possible. I would begin talking to your child instead and explain that just because someone says they will do something doesn't always mean they will and there could be lots of reasons. He may as well learn it now, or he will defitely learn it later and then it may be about something much more significant and even more hurtful. I hope things get better with her. Oh! Maybe (if she has a child) you could "forget" the present and say you will bring it by later and then really DO it. That may make a point w/o having to be confrontational and jeopardizing your relationship. Just a thought. Good luck!
Latest on Lindsay Lohan at tmz.com. wow.

So anyone interested in gossip should check out tmz.com.  They interviewed 3 guys who were in the car with her, and according to them she jumped in a car that wasn't hers that had the 3 guys in it, ran over a guy's foot, chased another vehicle at about 100 mph, said that she could do whatever she wanted because she was a celebrity, circled the car numerous times, lost that car, and then chased another vehicle all the way to the police station.  She supposedly ran numerous red lights and stop signs and obviously could have killed any number of people!

Then to top it off she supposedly tells the police "The black guy was driving."  How horrible.  Zero respect for her now.  I will never watch another one of her movies.  I hope they throw the book at her!  She's obviously a danger and should not have been let out on bail imo.  (kam)

I would take him over the latest real estate listing

The latest on this looney-tune story
Her family has asked that the public not judge her. I heard this morning she was a mother first and foremost. She has 3 children but like I have stated many times before, you NEVER know what a person might do. Being first and foremost did not stop this person for being charged with attempted murder. My hubby also stated if you had to wear a diaper as an adult, surely you would not want millions to know about it. I feel sorry for her family.
Yes, I saw it (no spoilers unless you haven't seen the latest episode)

Not a whole lot of new information, just mostly confirmation of things that are already known, like yes, Desmond's failure to reset the computer was the cause of the airplane crash and later when Desmond turned the key it did temporarily make the island visible so Penny knows about it - but they didn't follow up on that. This is my guess - but presumably the ship that the woman who parachuted onto the island is trying to contact was sent by Penny.

They touched on the idea of the interconnectedness of these people but very lightly - just hinted that there was something that brought this particular group of people together. Interestingly, they didn't say anything at all about the people from the tail section, but the show that was run last night was only 45 minutes because Grey's Anatomy ran 15 minutes over. The one that will be shown next Wednesday is a full hour - I'm going to watch that, too.

The main thing (as far as I'm concerned) is they reiterated that this is not purgatory or anything like that, everyone is actually alive, but they said they are....let me think....."somewhere in the space-time continuum."

Interesting....

Has anyone done all the latest updates for Window and did you have any problems. nm
:
Me too! My latest obsession are shoes from a store on e bay
They are called cutsey shoes and I get a pair or two with each pay period. I know it has to end, but they are so cute and not expensive. I am kicking the e bay habit but there's still always room for shoe bids as far as I am concerned. Though I never wear shoes at home and I am there most of the time because I work at home too. LOL.
latest update on 16-year-old daughter.
Well, I did it. I told my husband. He had a good stern talking with her about how what she is doing is not good and will not be tolerated, and told her that the rules were expected to be abided by. He grounded her for 2 weeks and we took away her license and car keys. She is beside herself and of course hates me more than anything because I betrayed her to her dad. Go figure. Anyway, now she states that there is no way she will stay in this house and will just run away. Or she will get a job and as soon as she can get some money together, she will emancipate herself from us. My husband told her that if she runs away, the next step will be something like military school. What a mess. He says we have to be tough or she won't get the message. This is so hard for me. I feel like I lost her. She wants nothing to do with me. I just hope and pray that someday she will understand that I did what I think is best for her.

At least now he knows and he can help me handle it. If she does run away, at least now he knows. I told her I love her more than life and I am doing this for her own good. She just reiterated how much she hates me.(sigh)

Thanks for all the good advice everyone. Please pray for me and my daughter. I never thought being a parent could be this hard.
sounds like the Oprah latest saga. LOL.
not worthy of acknowledging.
The latest news on the death of Jett Travolta...

Posted Jan 4th 2009 10:45AM by TMZ Staff

There's a conflict brewing between the Bahama PD and John Travolta's camp regarding the time line of Jett Travolta's death.

People who are with Travolta are bristling at the suggestion Jett might have been left unattended for more than 10 hours, but this morning cops say they are sticking to their story. Meanwhile, we've learned Jett had suffered from grand mal seizures in the past and had taken anti-seizure medicine which the Travolta's say did not work, so the medication was stopped.

As for the time line, we're told Jett, his family and his two nannies had been boating on January 1. They returned to their townhouse at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel at around 6 PM. Jett was tired, went into his bedroom and went to sleep.

We're told nanny Jeff Kathrein watched TV in the adjoining room. The other nanny, Eli, returned to the townhouse at around 11:30 PM. Both Jeff and Eli turned in at around that time. After Jeff got up, he went into the bathroom and discovered Jett laying on the floor.

As for when Jett was last seen, cops say it was the at around 11:30 the night of January 1, when he went to the bathroom. Michael McDermott, John Travolta's lawyer and close friend, says Eli or Jeff may have gone into that bathroom during the middle of the night so the time frame would have been compressed.

McDermott also tells TMZ when Jeff and John Travolta administered CPR there may have been signs of life -- as in there may have been some respiratory function -- though that is not confirmed.

We're told Jett's disabilities included the inability to communicate well, in addition to some physical disabilities. As a result, there was a baby monitor in his room as well as a chime on the bathroom door. It's unclear if the two nannies slept through any signs of movement. The townhouse is relatively small -- around 1,000 square feet -- and the nannies and Jett were all on the bottom floor.

McDermott told us it's not unusual for Jett to sleep 12, even 16 hours a day, so Jett not being present is not unusual.

As for cause of death, the coroner will presumably determine that tomorrow.

As for John Travolta and Kelly Preston, McDermott tells us "they stopped crying long enough last night to try to write a press statement, which they haven't finished."

LATEST BREAKING NEWS ON BABY MAMA DRAMA
Howard Stern has just testified in court in Florida that he and Anna Marie did not have an exclusive only relationship- well, that did not take a rocket scientist to figure out with all the possible daddies coming forward, huh?

Latest in long line of idiots in civil service -

The poor kid told a supervisor and another employee, obviously concerned about her mistake, and they okayed the serving of the meat anyway.

Hope some hot shot lawyer comes to her aid.  This is beyond ridiculous.

Gee, maybe we should all have food servers arrested the next time they put onions on our burgers if we ask for NO ONIONS!

Where is that guy who follows the NY cops around filming them when they break the law in the course of duty?!    Hope he picks up on this one.

Hope the link works.

DR Book
We just got our copy this week and after the first few pages - I believe it is going to hurt!! We need it though - husband is really stressed. We have two kids in college and one goes in next year. Two oldest are getting married soon - SCARY STUFF!!
best book
Thanks for the insight. I love to read and have trouble with finding good books. Have you read The Kite Runner? It is one of my all time bests. You have to stay with it though.
In the book
The Five People You Meet is Heaven (obviously fiction) tells about choosing the best time in your life and that is what "your" heaven will be like. I love the thought of that. Am still trying to decide what I could choose.
Do you have his book?
Cesar would say that nobody has established the leadership role, so the dog has taken it. Somebody has to do it.

She's being dominant. The good news is that if you learn how to be the leader and your kids learn to act like Cesar has taught his kids, your dog will happily fill the proper place in the pack. It wouldn't matter if she was 14 years old. Dogs live in the moment. She's been learning all you've been accidentally teaching all this time.

One thing about the process is that you need to dedicate whatever time is needed; you don't give up in the middle of a lesson or you have to start over next time. Get Cesar's book or books and be the a pack leader your dog can be proud to follow. :o>

There are other methods as well, and you can get other books. Many "real" dog trainers think his tactics are way off base, but often they soften after reading his book and seeing where he's coming from. But IMO your dog is a candidate for his methods.

Nothing-In-Life-Is-Free is one popular training method.

This book changed my life many years ago. Read it; you will not be sorry. "Your Erroneous Zones" by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer.

The Bluejay Boarders! I do not even remember who wrote it but it was the first book I really read all by myself, first chapter book so to speak and it made me cry. To this day I cannot find that book! Anybody ever heard of it?
yes, that was book 4
She has published 6 in the series so far and #7 should be out next year. DG has said that there will be "at least" 8, so leaving open the possibility for a 9th. She also has plans for a second Outlandish companion book and a prequel about Jamie's parents, but who knows when.

Here is the site where I found the book... all the way at the bottom you can click on read all reviews & read what everybody is saying about it. I saw the movie & if this book is half as good as that movie it will be great! Everybody says really good things about the book:) may wanna check it out!
this is not a book, but
My teenage son wants one of these DVD:
Wanted, Hellboy2, and Hancock...in case movies are an option. Sometimes my neighborhood kids have movie parties and if someone gets a new one they get voted to watch theirs. It might make the gift last a little longer if they can share it with their friends.

This is a really complicated subject, even though your question is simple. You probably should go have a talk with your FIL about what he considers standard equipment for the house in your area. Good luck!

I read a book about emergency preparedness. Wish I could tell you I had enough money to bury, but I don't!
Book online if you can...
And save your confirmation and payment receipt with your tickets. You should receive confirmation in your cabin at least 24 hours before your first shore excursion. If you don't, check with the Purser's office or the shore excursion desk.

I have traveled on Carnivel three times, most recently last month. I much prefer booking tours online instead of standing in line, and that eliminates finding out your tour is booked up once you get to the desk. Online will tell you immediately if the tour you want, at the time you've chosen, is full or not.

Hope this helps and that you have a great time. I love cruising!
Dog allergies/dog book
Don't know what kind of a dog but my sister had a Red Setter that had thyroid problems and also an allergy to wheat and so they had to buy special food without wheat which was only "Friskies" and that did help to cure the itching.   Oprah had a repeat on about the Dog Whisper and showed how he cured several dogs of being aggressive around other dogs.   His book is wonderful.  My neighbor got it and it worked for them.   Have been luck with my dog, she is now 16 which is very old for her mix -- chow/lab and she has never been aggressive.  Did not have any puppy problems with chewing or barking.  Of course she got her walks every day of over 2 miles at a time and I think that exercise is the biggest help.   Never crated her either and if and when I get another one will not do that to a dog.  Mine is now deaf and partially blind but still walks up to the park three times a day, slow but does it.  Never an accident in the house.  No medications except aspirin.  She will probably outlive me.
So, because I have his book I am uneducated?
Hmmmmm.
I ordered the DVD and the book.
I have been applying The Secret for about 2 or maybe a little more weeks now.  Also my husband and grown son are using it.  We are all experiencing interesting results.  I am using it to lose weight and so far have lost several pounds without dieting. My son worked on 5000 dollars and last week received 1000 and then got another 4000.  My husband is using it for more energy.
OK-what is your fav book or what are you reading now
My very favorite book is Outlander by Diana Galbadon and I am current re-reading the second book in the Outlander series, Dragonfly in Amber. I would like to reread all 6 of them this summer, but Harry Potter is also coming out, so we'll see.  They are all huge books.
Cesar's book
No I don't have that book but I will get it.  Thanks for the info.  Hopefully we can retrain her to not be aggressive.  She does play and loves to play, but only on her terms.  She is very ornery at times with the kids.  She doesn't like them picking her up.  She doesn't like being moved when she's comfortable.  She can be fun and cute and playful, but I really don't like her being mean any at all, no time is acceptable to me for her to be mean.  And she barks incessantly!  At the mail man every day, anytime she sees anyone outside, neighbor, UPS, fedex, she goes berserk!  I don't think she'd really hurt them if she could get to them, but I can't afford to take that chance either.
I am using his book as a reference also. Thank you! nm
!
I feel the same way, besides how much is a book? lol
Get a copy of the paperback version or as you said ask if you can read when they are done or check one out at the library.

After all, why not just then go to your bookcase and take one out and wrap it up? lol

Yes, tacky.

I read the book. Even better.

May I recommend a book

Which may help?

"The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense."  May seem completely unrelated, but I sense a serious problem in the way he responded to you about how "YOU" should have responded to HIS needs.

It is extremely subtle, the technique he is using.  I highly recommend the book; difficult to get, out of print.  I have a copy and am not willing to give it up....

I could write a book (sm)
But where do I start? I have an ex-husband and had 3 dogs, one of which was incredibly loyal to him even though he never lived in the house since her birth. All she had to hear was, Daddy's coming over tonight, and she would just stare out the window until he arrived.

Well, I moved and only could take 2 dogs, so I told him he had to take Clara (it was a lie, but I felt like they needed each other LOL).

He lives in an efficiency and when he went to work, she managed to do all kinds of crafty things when he was gone.... like taking a half-full can of Diet Coke, spilling in on the bed, and then covering it up with the blankets...

She can get into child-proof locks on the cabinets. He has to put the garbage in his car every day. She opens up the coffee container and just leaves it for him... like... okay... see what I can do?

She is the smartest dog I've seen in my life. When they visit, I swear, she understands what I'm saying.

But the most incredible thing is how she loves him.

He did some Internet searches for things to keep dogs with separation anxiety busy. Remember, she was here with her siblings and me all the time. You might want to check that out. One idea was stuffing an apple with peanut butter. He finally resorted to just leaving the jar open. The cage isn't really a bad idea either if it's a young pup.

One more story... He was walking her and an unleashed dog attacked her. He managed to separate them and get someone to get Clara back in the house, but the door didn't shut tightly. He was still holding the unleashed dog and she bounded out out to defend him. She ended up getting ripped up with over 40 stitches. He's convinced she only came back out for his sake.

Anyhow, sorry for going on, but if any suggestions below don't work (I didn't read them), do a search or email me and I'll give you his email so he might give you some tips.

I was just thinking today how my life revolves around my dogs. I really don't even like leaving the house because I know they hate it. If I miss one of their 'scheduled' walks, I feel guilty. I do have more of a life than my dogs, but... you know... ;-)
His book was really good
He has nice quick little stories constituting his book with words of wisdom thrown in. His book has really changed some of my outlook on things--I have three kids nearly the same ages as his children and a husband who is 2 years older than Randy Pausch. (I'm quite a bit younger.) One (or both) of us possibly could be in a situation like his--you just never know, so live your childhood dreams and leave something for your kids to be proud of...

Anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend his book. I haven't been picking up books too much (except to study), but I was drawn to his book sitting there in the new section of my library's shelf. I'm glad I took the couple of hours to read it. It's a quick and interesting read.

Above all, I hope his death was peaceful and as painless as possible and that his wife and children have wonderful memories of him.
