A question...

It's a long story, but in a nutshell...what if the man you were engaged to had a "best friend" that is not only female but also happens to be his ex-girlfriend...suppose this man insisted that no matter what you say or how you feel, that the "best friend" would always be a part of your lives as he considers her family... 

WHAT IF...the man said, and I am quoting here..."Why can't you (his fiancee) and *** (the "BF") be equal in my life?" Meaning, the fiancee does not hold a more important place in his life than the BF does? How would you all handle this?

Disclaimer: This is a REAL life situation...to me it sounds like it's on some stupid show...however, it's not my husband...it's my DD's fiance.
