That's funny, I'll have to remember it. A sense of humor does help! I don't know if it's us or them, but don't blame yourself, just be aware that it takes a long time to know someone well, especially if you meet online, where anybody can pretend to be anything. I've done some online dating, and while most of it has been pleasant and some of it fun, I have had one bad experience (not especially scary, just someone not at ALL what he seemed to be).
Feel free to email me if you want more thoughts on the subject, but at least let me say it can be done. My life now is so much happier than before!
