Actually, has she applied for the federal loans?

I'm sorry, I went on my own rant about private loans! Has she applied for the federal loans? All you have to do for those is fill out a FAFSA and the school should tell you how much you can get. There are two types of federal student loans and you can qualify for one of them no matter how much money you make. Those usually cover tuition and sometimes books.

The private loans come in when the federal loans aren't enough (I'm attending a private college and the federal loans aren't enough). Good luck!

Mine has a bachelors and applied for MS program (sm)
he is three years older so was about the same age as me when he was going to do this. Thinks its alright for him. Our marriage is already very rocky. I feel like rather than deciding whether to divorce or not right now I should further my education instead.
Payday loans

I'm in a jam and need to stop these bounced check fees:  Just found a payday loan site (We Give Loans) which has selected two companies matched to me where I could best get such a short-term loan (Secure Money Store, Get 1500 Quick).

I've been trying to find out where they are located so I can check in with the BBB or with an agency who regulates them.

As well, I've seen no negative Google hits about any of the three of these entities, which definitely piques my interest/curiosity in and of itself.

Anybody have any experience, thoughts on this, the companies named above or on the industry overall and what to look out for?

Tx.

I know about the no interest loans
I had 2 - one where I moved from previously and still owned and rented that home out and my present home. We got rid of those as soon as humanly possible- those sound good but the interest soon shoots through the roof- this is why all the repossessions going on now. These are only a stepping stone- not for you to keep for years on- you will lose it all. We did not lose but then again we could afford to play around a little- does not sound like you can and you have your hands full.

yes, we can have up to 3 loans with our 401k

and we can barrow no more than half of what is in it.  We have 5 years to pay it off.  Unless we are using it to buy our primary residence then we have 15 years.  What I worry about most with that is making my paycheck too thin.  They are already taking out 75 a week for health insurance, 56 for the loan, 20 for a spending account I have, plus 45 to 50 for my contribution to the 401k, 3% of my pay/per pay period.

I had also thought about barrowing against it to pay off my morguage.  I owe somewhere between 7000 and 8000 at 6% interest.   I went to bankrate.com and did a loan calculator and they estimated 75 per paycheck.  I pay 333 a month now.  It would be less a month if i did that  and that would make me an official home owner, boy that would feel good.

Also the scary thing is, too many people pay off their cc only to run them up again.  Once my retirement money is gone, it is gone then what

Anyone know who to get college loans when you have less than good credit?
Daughter is going to school and she can get a loan with a cosigner but due to my and my husband's finances we do not qualify. Asking anyone else in the family is out of the question, tried, no luck.. Are there loans out there where my daughter would not need a cosigner.  She is a first year freshman.
Have you gone through the Pell, FASA, PHEAA process yet? Some of those loans are

I would be persistent about speaking with a financial counselor.  Or, perhaps, stop in your local branch bank and ask to speak to someone.  Maybe they can offer some assitance; monetarily or otherwise.

Best of Luck to you.

Anyone who resorts to payday loans, credit cards or
paycheck advances should either find a better paying job or a second job. Crazy to borrow money just to live day to day. Don't bother telling me that I don't know how hard it is today to make ends meet....been there, done that then got smarter! What happens when you can't make the payday loan payment, credit card payment or you've taken such an advance on your paycheck it's gone before you get it?
Along with the federal tax increase, my
state tax went up 30 cents per pack, so that is a total of 90 cents per pack or $9 a carton more.

The big deal is your federal government....
You're absolutely right. They have some identifiable information on file about citizens, so why would they need to change anything and put more restrictions in place? I'm more confused as to why US citizens don't ask why? If they've got everything on us, then what could possibly be the reason to do this?

buy food through this federal subsidy
go to
angelfoodministries.com

Buy a box of food for $25 for the month, and specials for $18 or $17 for additional meat packages. Deliver the package(s) to your friend and the famil will not go hungry. This has been a godsend in the last year, and there are no questions or forms or qualificiations. The kids won't go hunry and your conscious will be clear. But, once your friend has the contact information about the program, you could encourage her to take advantage of the program without your support.
Federal law requires that any child who is
have an IEP designed. It is required also that it be reviewed at least annually, and there are very specific requirements about who must be invited and in attendance among other things. In our case, my child was initially diagnosed with moderate to severe autism, but on his last full evaluation (required to be done at least every three years) this was changed to Asperger's.
Same here. I served on Federal Jury once, so

when I get summons for local court, I put that down. Plus, since we had a car stolen, all my jewelry and clothing (we were moving at the time), and a son assaulted, I usually get turned down for county jury duty.

I did like serving that one time and would do it again, but if I didn't put down the above things and they found out, it would probably be a mistrial if they put me on an assault or theft jury.

federal withholding tables changed

I just thought I would give everybody a heads-up on the fact that the federal withholding tables have changed, so look for a decrease in your check if you are an employee.  I get paid every Friday for one of my jobs and my net pay was much less than I expected.  I checked with my boss to make sure our line totals were the same, and that is when she told me the tables had changed - so much so that she gasped.  Those of you who are being paid every two weeks - brace yourself for a smaller check.  If your gross income is about $1000 every 2 weeks, you'll have about $50 less in your pocket.

By my calculations, including my husband's income in the whole equation, the govt just decided to withhold in one year my son's community college tuition.

Federal laws require that students be educated....sm
on their level however it gets frustrating for parents when their child isn't "normal" and they have to fight with schools to get their child educated. It's crazy that your nephew was passed from school to school without being able to read. As a foster parent I had a prior foster child that came to me in the 5th grade but could really only read at a 1st grade level and was very behind in all subjects.... yet her report cards from her prior schools all gave her A's and B's and commented on what a wonderful student she was. I busted my butt working with the caseworkers to get her the extra assistance she needed to get caught up and teaching her how to work around her learning disabilities, which were diagnosed while she was with me. Did the school want to cooperate? No.... but all it took was one letter from an education attorney to get them to realize that we were going to force them to educate this child instead of passing her own without helping her and then they started working with us. Crazy thing is that the federal laws require it, provide the money for it but the schools don't want to deal with the paperwork or having to do it... and they prefer just changing grades for kids and passing them on instead of helping them. This sends these kids on the dead-end street because they eventually graduate without any skills and oftentimes it goes downhill from there.

When I was growing up we had 1 teacher to maybe 10 or 15 students, and the teachers had time to work with the kids individually as they needed it. Now the schools want to cram as many kids into a classroom as they can, don't give teachers any help and on top of that expect the teachers to spend money on supplies, yet my property taxes keep going up to pay for the schools and I'm in a growing area with new houses being slapped up faster than you can say your name.

It's wrong that the schools don't give a crap when a child isn't "normal" and they want to pass them on without helping them, and they expect the parents to bail them out. Sure as a parent I'm willing to do my part but I'm not going to spend time doing all of the education of a child regardless of whether they're biological or foster, especially if the school isn't trying to educate them during the day.
"Food stamps" now are paid on EBT cards - federal EBT cards which look the
have the option to have their pay on an EBT card as well.

She may well have been using her family's federal EBT card and working for the government for a living.

Or, if she is a foster parent, those children will receive state benefits and she could use an EBT card for food assistance.

Everything is not always what it appears to be. I'm sure you're a nice person, right?! See?! We wouldn't know any better if we believed the appearance you have given here! :)
