walking and pulling tendons a certain way with walking from sitting and holding your legs fixed when working.  I think I tend to stiffen up my legs.  I expect some amount of tendonitis is going on.

Pain in legs
Hm... dont know if this will help or not... but i had this same thing happening and i invested in a really good chair that tilts forward a little to take the pressure off of the back of the legs... it helped me a ton!
Jaundice, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, muscle pain,
itching. My husband was an alcholic for about 15-20 years. He is also 47. His last drink was on September 4, 2006. He finally quit drinking when his weight dropped to 122 pounds (he is 6' tall). His liver enzymes were way off. He was hospitalized for a few days and has not had a drink since and, boy, am I proud of him. It has been tough for him I know.  Several years ago, he experienced jaundice and was hospitalized then. He quit drinking then for about 6 weeks and the jaundice did clear. He is doing much better now after having been sober for 3-1/2 months. He was prescribed Valium to help and it has helped. We do not know that he has liver damage already, but he has gained about 25 pounds since September and I just keep praying that he will stay sober because his father died from the effects of alcohol at 54. I hope and pray that your husband will get some medical help.
Muscle weighs more than fat, but it also
burns fat. So at first, most exercise does build some muscle, which is extremely good for your bones and posture and your fat-burning ability. So you have just laid the groundwork for losing pounds. In fact, studies show that for women to lose weight, using weight machines and free weights is critical to success. (Oddly enough, men benefit most from aerobics when they need to lose a belly!).

If you want quicker slimming and weight loss and you have the knees for it, change your aerobics to jumping rope; it is great for slimming and weight loss. It doesn't build the large thigh muscles the way walking and other aerobics do. It does work your heart and diaphragm and calf and ankle, foot forearm and wrist muscles, and if you want to have fat off and a lean look, it is the quickest aerobic exercise for that. But muscle is extremely good for you, especially for supporting the spine and flattening abs and giving you pretty arms and legs.

Do you ever watch Funniest Home Videos? So many women have no muscles - when they try to do quick take-offs from rope swings, hang gliders, waterskiing, they don't have the upper body strength or the ab muscles to do the sport. Being strong is protective and useful. Don't give up.
Muscle does not weigh more than fat.
A pound is a pound. The difference in muscle is less dense than fat and takes up less room in your body.
pain and not wanting pain is understandable cuz of medical reason
I mean come on, when he has pain somewhere, does he not want to do something? Seriously, is this a true medical pain problem? If it is, then anyone could understand.
I think you mean muscle is "more" dense than fat

Joint and muscle owies almost gone
I use Ultram 50 mg two tabs 3xd and Neurontin 600 mg 3xd.
Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant sm
I'd take it before bed. Myself, I get very relaxed and woozy if I take it, so I go to bed. Red raspberry leaf tea is supposed to be very good for cramps. I am allergic to them, so I can't tell you how that works.
Sorry...should be paint store not pain (maybe pain...hehe)

I'm getting concerned. I've had a muscle spasm under my left eye
At first it was just an annoyance even though it was constant, now it's really worrying me because it does it non stop.  Any thoughts? Thanks
No spasms. The levator ani muscle and the pelvic floor
muscles have separated.  The pelvic floor muscles don't cause a lot of problems.  Unfortunately, with the levator ani separating, I have some fecal incontinence.  Not a lot, but enough to be really aggravating at times. This doesn't even happen every day.  It's just kind of random and I never know when it's going to happen.
Maybe you should keep your legs closed
!!
Would like to show these legs but
ladies, come on now, who has a good remedy for OMG, that dreaded cellulite. I would not be showing these ole legs except for the fact I have to take some recommended water aerobics for my fibromyalgia and cover as much as I can but wish I could wear a mu-mu. Any ideas out there. Hey, by the way, do not want to hear about using used coffee grounds. Heard you could mix those with body oil and smear on legs. What a mess- did not work and then had that mess in my shower to boot!!
Restless legs, anyone
I'm heading out for two 8-hour days of driving on vacation, as a passenger.  I've got RLS, and have had a real problem with this.  It feels like I have to stretch and move my legs especially when I have to sit still.  Other than stopping every few hours and walking around, anybody have any ideas how I can manage this on the trip?
Ditto...men don't have the legs

swelling legs
mine have done this but I notice it is after I have had a LOOOOONG day of typing or if it gets a little too warm, I move around & as soon as I get up, it quickly goes away..
Good, I'm really getting tired of looking at her legs! : )

After your shower, elevate legs
and rub lotion into your feet. The massaging action with your feet elevated really moves the blood out of them that collects during a warm shower.
Fun. How about the legs on Gweneth!! Oh baby! No message
:)
My cat bumps into things like corners and table legs.

that was THE finest brad pitt look yet.! the hair, the legs, the love scene...
ohhh...yeah.
I was sore from bowling!
After playing it all night when we first got it, I woke up this next morning and my right shoulder was killing me! I mean, I lift weights regularly, and I don't even get as sore from that! I also love the tennis one, and I take the Wii Fitness test almost every day! I am getting Mario Galaxy and the Mario Olympic games next week, and I can't wait! I also have to recommend the Rayman Ravid Rabbids game as that has to be the FUNNIEST game I have ever seen! Shooting toilet plungers at crazy screaming bunnies! LOL!
It doesn't look sore, red or anything. Just
xx
Also about the teeth being sore...
Our orthodontists both told us that if OTC meds do not help your pain, they are too tight and you should call for a 2nd adjustment. Your teeth should not be so sore that you can't eat a regular diet. Who knows, yours might have a different policy or idea, but don't suffer through the pain without asking. I did and they finally told me that I shouldn't be and they don't know that unless the patient tells them.
A sore loser? I saw it and I think she was truly shocked.

I had wondered if it was bec his joints are sore (sm)
That is interesting. He does seem arthritic these days but I thought it was just from him being so old. I had wondered if he was chewing his paw (the top of his paw, not the pad) because his joints hurt. I feel so bad for our poor pets who can't tell us what is wrong. I guess he will have to go to the vet (whether he likes it or not!)LOL
Ditto, I would think anyone with a cold sore - sm
would know not to kiss anyone, especially a newborn. Obviously the mother was not thinking, it was her baby, etc., unless she did not know she had it, and/or that it was herpes as all cold sores are and very contagious and spread by kissing, contact, etc. It is very sad the nursing staff did not say something to her prior, during, after the birth as this all could have been easily prevented.
Sore throat suggestions
I have chronic sinus problems and postnasal drip. Some suggestions I have are to use a cool mist humidifier at night, use saline nasal sprays (like Ayr or Ocean) at least twice a day, gargle with warm salt water (as far back into your throat as you can), and I make a drink with a cup of hot water, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of honey. I also drink chicken broth or eat chicken noodle soup. That might be placebo, but I always feel better after warm chicken broth.
I have had a sore throat now for 2 days..sm
It feels like it may be starting to get better though. My husband had the same thing last week. My nose has ran a little too. I don't know. Must be a cold or something.
Well this isn't your everyday sore throat (sm)
It feels like severe strep, only it's neg for strep and it has been going on about 4 days now and shows no signs of getting any better. Nothing I am doing to try to treat it seems to help. I am now on zithromax, magic mouthways, chloraseptic, saltwater gargles, honey, cough drops, vitamin C and naprosyn, and still waking up through the night with my throat hurting :(
For sore neck & shoulders I swear by - sm
Flexall Extra-Strength. (Used to be 'Flexall 454'). Has a menthol/linament kind of smell (which I like), but who cares - it works like a charm for me on those tight, stressed-out muscles. Not only when working, but when going to bed at night, too. Cat hates it, but too bad. I LOVE it.

Also helpful was buying an adjustable, keyboard try that attaches under the desk. By typing with the keyboard basically in my lap, it opens the angles of my elbows (pain in those is from bone spurs, when elbow is flexed to 90 degrees or more). Also, having the keyboard low, with very nice soft, cushy wrist-rest, takes the load off my shoulders from trying to hold my hands higher.

I change chair height frequently during the day, also get up and move around. I make sure to get out and exercise (jog, walk, bike, skate, go to gym, etc.) once a day, too. Got a chair that is adjustable 5 ways: seat tilt, seat height, back height, back tilt, and lumbar support. Keeping the room warm helps, too. When thumb & wrist arthritis flares up, I take aspirin & wear typing gloves to keep hands warm.

Last, but not least, I keep knee chondromalacia at bay with Osteo Bi-Flex (glucosamine & chondroitin) daily.
Sore throat remedies needed...sm

I'm on day #4 of a severe sore throat.  Ran a fever days 1 and 2.  Really no sinus congestion to aggravate it.  My 7-year-old daughter has the same thing but with sinus drainage.  The pediatrician confirmed yesterday she doesn't have strep and this is all a virus that is going through the community as they've seen a lot of this same virus over the past week.  We found out that 2 other kids in her class have the same muck.

We're doing salt water gargles and I'm using Cepacol lozenges.  We're also drinking lots of hot and cold fluids.  I can't use TheraFlu because it has ingredients that I'm allergic to.   I can't eat anything other than drinking liquid soups because it hurts too bad.  Definitely not a fun way to lose weight for sure!

What's your favorite remedy to make a sore throat feel better?

I do know my flu started with a severe sore throat
and then progressed to a very high fever, and chills and then it coupled with bronchitis. But the other poster is right, my doctor said there are so many different types of flu around this year. If he gets worse I would definitely call the doctor.
By the 4th day, I would be too sore to continue the rest of the week...
LOL
I had a horrible sore throat a few months ago and used
a big tablespoon of pure honey and just ate it. I probably over a few hours that same day used a couple more but it was amazing for me, totally worked. I really had nothing here at the house for sore throat that seemed to work. Hope it can help you too.
I suffered from a sore throat for a week or so s/m
but no fever, just congestion.  I started using a Netti pot two times every day and I no longer have the sore throat.  I even tried going without it for a day and sore throat came right back.  It must be that I sleep with my mouth open due to the congestion.  Good luck!
WHy when I did a shot of whiskey it help my very very sore throat and cold??
It was suggested to me to do a shot of whiskey (which I hate by the way) because I had a very bad sore throat, the kind of sore throat that is deep down in your throat like towards the bottom of your neck...anyhow I had been battling this for over 5 days worse with it getting worse with each day...So, I do the shot of whiskey and it helped reduce the intense pain immediately and while my throat still aches, the intense deep pain is gone....Why does this work?
Sore thumb joints from hitting space bar (sm)
They are sore on the opposite side of the thumb, not the underside that hits the space bar.  Does anyone know anything I can wear on my thumbs to prevent this from getting worse?  I'm afraid I'm giving myself arthritis in my thumbs!  Thanks
I agree and leaving early not sore loser (sm)
I think that's just graceful, letting the winners have their day plus that had to really sting after the great season they had. But what a great game it was. Both teams should be proud they made it there.
swore not sore. Ugg. Someday the pounds will go away and the typos too
nm
Could be strep - makes my children throw up, sometimes no sore throat(nm)
x
Horrible sore throat - neg flu, neg strep - hurts sooo bad (sm)
they gave me magic mouthwash, I am using that plus Chloraseptic which they said was ok, they gave me zithromax just in case, which I started taking, I am using naprosyn and sudafed too.  So....Sudafed, naprosyn, magic mouthwash, and chloraseptic and my throat is still killing me. Has anyone else had this and/or does anyone have any suggestions???  I have just had a low grade temp which is gone now, very runny nose and some body aches which are not that bad.  But the throat - oh my goodness I can't even explain how bad it is.
Well, I have had a sore throat and head cold now for a week and it was pretty
bad. My ears even hurt.
Yes, sore breasts and missed period are definitely good indicators...
take a test already and let us know--lol
Finances were a real sore spot in our marriage for a long time

But my husband was in the military for 12 years, and he was away quite a bit, so I had to take over the finances. When he was home and he was paying the bills, he would get so upset because he felt there wasn't enough money and "where does all the money go?" "why don't we ever have any left?" was all I heard. I finally told him I was taking them back over because I was sick of hearing that every month. I put everything on MS Money, categorize it, subcategorize it, and add memos, so if he wants to know exactly where the money is going, all he has to do is look.

Funny....he really hasn't complained a whole lot since.

Sorry your MIL is a pain..
Sounds like you both need a time out from each other.
Pain

Can you use your hot keys instead of the foot pedal? That works for me.

Lilly

So sorry for your pain
and also for your daughter's pain.
Pain
Everyones pain threshholds are very different. I have had three children naturally and was up walking right after. I had my tubal and was able to go back to work the next day and never needed any of the pain pills that were prescribed.
However my little sister was laid up for almost a week after hers.
So what was easy for me might not be for you I would say speak to your physician he or she hopefully knows you well enough to knowledgeably tell you what to expect. Just be sure no matter what you have someone with you when you get home to give you a hand just in case it is more than you bargained for.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hopefully it will be uneventful and as painless as possible. Keep us updated.
Arm pain
Has anyone had this happen.  I sometimes wake up and my right arm from the elbow to the top of the shoulder burns/aches....very bad and to the point I need to wrap it in a heating pad.  The rest of the arm is not affected by pain but my fingers sometimes are a little clumsy especially when trying to type.  This has happened around three times now over the past year.  It lasts for a couple of hours and then it goes away. I guess it is nothing to worry about but it sure does hurt!  Ouch.  Just wondering what it could be and/or what causes it.
Oh believe me, there was PAIN!!
Terrible pain for three days straight, but the worst thing is my ortho glued these bite blocks in back of my top front teeth and NONE of my teeth touch!  Imagine trying to eat anything but soup or yogurt!  I am going to Vegas early June, and one of the main reasons I was going was to eat at some of those world-class restaurants.  I'm hoping he will remove them just for the week of my trip, or it looks like I'll be having soup at Wolfgang Pucks...
