People don't turn gay, they either are or they aren't - sm
so either he is bisexual or he is gay but married you to appear normal, or maybe he wanted kids and figured that by marrying a woman that would be the only way he would ever have children. First thing I would do is go get checked out medically by your OB/GYN for STDs, HIV, etc. If your sex life is less than wonderful then he is probably gay, if it is great then he is probably bisexual. I have a friend (male) who is bisexual, while he likes sex with women he prefers men. Obviously it is time you had a very serious talk with your husband and don't be snowed by his explaination which I am sure will be quite inventive. No straight man would be caught dead looking at gay porn (unless it is 2 women) or calling gay sex lines. I hope there are not children involved because that is going to make this harder for you than it already is.
people drive in the "fast lane" when they aren't passing anyone!!!
get over already!!!
Didn't you learn to get in the left lane to pass someone? and not only that, there are signs posted everywhere "slower traffic keep right"!!!
LOL my rant for the day :)
Great dogs...sm
The little weiners are one of the best dogs.  Great personalities.  The only thing negative is when puppies they chew on everything!  We had just remodeling our house when we got a puppy.  I lost a new comforter and a specially made quilt in one room, two new pillows in another and some chewed up table legs and rocker.  She also ate her bed!  They do outgrow this though. Unfortunately, we lost "Shelly" to a hit and run while my son was in the hospital.  I do plan to get another one some day.
dogs are better than people in most
instances. I have 3 and would never cage or kennel them. They are like my children and live where ever they choose to in the house. They have a specific place in the back yard for their "business" and have not had any accidents in the house because my husband and I have trained them properly. They are my best friends.
Need help from people who know about Dogs
I am in a bit of a predicament. There is a couple from our church who are very low income and cannot really take care of themselves. Well they have adopted (more like picked up off the street) this dog. She looks like she is part pit part lab part something. Anyways, they have had her for awhile, and she is in bad shape. She looks like she has had puppies, and I doubt she is fixed. It also looks like she has mange. I checked her ears and she definitely has a lot of gunk in there, and probably ear mites. She is scratching so bad she is making herself bleed. It is a horrible situation. I don't have the money to pay for treatment for her. I thought about offering to take her and at least take care of her for awhile (the wife is in the hospital) but I can't risk my dogs getting sick or getting mange. Where we live there isn't really any kind of help for low income people who have pets. What should I do?

We are going over there next week to build a wheelchair ramp and I thought about taking some stuff to treat her with, but I don't know what. I'm going to research online, but I just wondered if anyone on here dealt with dogs and knew? I worked at a vet clinic for awhile but of course everything we used was prescription and I doubt a vet will give me anything without seeing the dog. I'm not 100% sure it's mange, it could be fleas too. I had a chow that was allergic when I was little and it was awful.

Sorry for the long post! I understand these people love this dog and literally cannot afford it, but it breaks my heart to see that dog so miserable.
Huskies are great dogs! I have had 3 so far - sm
They love to dig, run, and jump over or under fences. They also kill every animall smaller than them if given a chance, birds, squirrels, oppossems, etc. We have our backyard fenced in so our dogs can run free. My current husky does not dig or jump (or howl, I miss that) though, but he is hindered by having only 3 legs, but he can run like the wind. My previous husky though would try to dig out on a regular basis, still have plugs all along the fence in spots where she tried to get out to chase deer or squirrels, luckily she never got out though. My Cara was a very picky eater, and our new husky, Slade, used to be too until he came to live with us (he was with my dad before). He has competition in eating now and eats every piece of his dinner now. My other dog (choc. lab) practically inhales her food and we jokingly call her Hoover, though her name is Maggie. When she is in the house we have to make sure everything is put away or she will eat it no matter where it is. Slade is better behaved but will steal food off the coffee table if left there. Huskies are great dogs though! On cold nights he does not come in on the first call though, loves to sit outside in the cold, all curled up with his nose in his bushy tail, with his beautiful blue eyes peeping out watching the yard. Just make sure he gets plenty of exercise and love and he will love you back all the way!
Great dogs at shelters
There are so many wonderful dogs at shelters. I always say, the only bad thing about a shelter dog is its previous owner! There are lots of mixed breeds but plenty of purebred dogs, too.

Shelters are overflowing these days (more than usual) because of the number of people who are losing their homes. I've heard stories of people moving out of their foreclosed house & just leaving the dogs behind...terrible. Especially for older dogs, who are so hard to find homes for.
You know how they say dogs sometimes can sense things about people?

We had that AT&T U-verse stuff installed in October and three installers came to the house. Not a single problem with the dogs. (We still had LouLou at the time.) They sniffed the installers and then let them go on about their business. The one installer was at our house for 12 hours.

On Saturday, two AT&T techs came over to fix the computer. Again, not a single problem with Duke. He sniffed them out and didn't bother them for the rest of the time.

On Sunday, the AT&T tech who came over called to say he was on his way. He said he was somewhat spooked by dogs and he just wanted to make sure we had a friendly one. I assured him Duke wouldn't bother him.

Duke didn't care for that man in the slightest. He growled at him and the hair stood up on his back. Every time the man came in the room, Duke reacted the same way and would back away from him.

I wonder what it was about him that Duke didn't like?

Ha! Cattle dogs are great. I knew a working one.
That was one happy cattle dog, working a ranch in Texas. We could walk among the bulls in the field without any problems all because the bulls were so scared of the cattle dog.

My Misha was really funny, and I didn't correct all her sassy behaviors because they were harmless and hilarious, but I am reading Cesar Milan's book, Cesar's Way, and I think it's a great book for any dog lover.
Great ideas! These people would definitely appreciate it! nm
:-)
Well, then 2 great and wonderful people
born today. The same Happy goes out to you!
Great! I'm all for it! I want people to prove who they are.

Medicare people - Have great insurance now- do I have to
take Medicare exclusively once I reach retirement age? My husband is younger and I hope to continue to work past retirement age myself (hoping to drop at my desk, so to speak) but his is great because union- he pays nothing for his insurance and all medically related issues are really dirt cheap for us. I would love to be able to stay on his insurance without Medicare- is this allowed?
People that hurt dogs should be hurt themselves in the exact same way. I HATE sm
cruelty to animals.
Love people who love dogs.

These dogs appear to be puppy mill producing dogs.
The two females, which I thought were older, appear to be just worn out/depleted. Their teeth are those of a 3-5 year old dog. So, I do believe they have had litters each cycle and are suffering from malnourishment.

Funny thing, yesterday, they were covered with mud (it rained and they were digging) and this morning, I look out and see they have all been grooming as they are clean.

Called Love of Animals who has committed to spaying/neutering the animals, giving them their shots, flea repellant and showing them at Pets Mart on Sundays. In a few months, there will be a regional dog show at the local college where on average 150 dogs are adopted out and she asked that I keep them until then.
Which I will...And a girl saw the ad for the Lost Pets and is looking for a replacement for her Shi Tzu she lost a year ago and will come by tomorrow morning.
I have my dogs on it, and yes all my past dogs but 2 have died -sm
from cancer. But I had 2 schipperkes on Frontline for years and one died at 13 from cancer, the other at 16 just from old age/kidney failure. My last husky was 8 when she died from cancer, but I have had one die at 2 (unknown causes), and another at 9.5 from liver cancer (she actually made a nice recovery but succumbed about 6 months later), but huskies don't tend to live past 10 unfortunately. I have had purebreeds and mutts, and with or w/o Frontline/Advantage they have all died from cancer. I suppose it is possible that it causes it, but if you live long enough, cancer will most likely be your cause of death, anything and everything causes cancer anymore. I hate fleas and ticks and we have lots of them, so the dogs get the Frontline except in the cold winter months. They are 6 and 3 and both doing quite well.
And dogs don't bite right? Love my dogs but I
nm
my dogs are basically indoor dogs sm
but have a doggie door to go in and out as they please. Sometimes our Jack Russell gets excited and barks inside the house. My DH grabs is belt and snaps it and the loud noise shuts her up right away. I am not trying to frighten our dog, but many times just saying knock it off doesn't work.
sorry, should be aren't nm

Hope you aren't someone I know. Why would you even
respond to the poster like this?  Post the ways to reach this goal of yours instead of just mouthing off.  What are you DOING to help the situation?  Or do you just like spouting off your opinions with no substance?  Bet you don't even vote let alone do anything constructive or supportive.
I know!! Aren't there any other doctors? - LOL (sm)
It's our little half hour escape to fantasy land!
Are sure sure there aren't other hidden -sm
issues, such as maybe drug or alcohol abuse?
Aren't there any agencies to help you? I cannot believe SM
you are not receiving child support.

I have cousin who did the same thing. Raised her grandchild alone. You must be very strong. Good luck to you.
Why aren't they working?
At least your son should be working. I agree with the other poster, you MUST cut them off. I can imagine how hard it will be, but it must be done. Sad situation, and it's the babies that suffer.
Are you sure you aren't one of my neighbors?
Sure do have the same attitude. Have a good day!
Aren't our babies fun??
My Simon tries to put two toys in his mouth and throws them at my feet when I'm working - okay, I get the hint!!  80 degrees in Texas Monday - awesome.
Oh aren't they BEAUTIFUL!

Doncha just love flowers?!  I was just talking to my husband today about how I just got royally screwed over by an on-line company...

My friend's husband just passed away after a long awful illness.  So, I sent her some flowers.  When I went to her house to give hugs and support in person, I didn't see them anywhere...no one sent the poor thing flowers.  This lady has absolutely nothing, is dead broke, and has no family, and I was very bummed she didn't even get my floral version of a big hug.  So I called the on-line floral place and they told me they had no idea and couldn't give me the name of the florist they do business with.  Long story short, no flowers for this poor lady.

My husband thought flowers were a stupid way to spend money, but I told him that people LOVE getting flowers.  No matter how bad things are, flowers make you temporarily forget.  It's why I wanted to be a florist...one of the best jobs in the world is to give someone flowers.  Then I learned how nasty some brides-to-be can be and bailed, because I can't take heat like that.  Just dang.

You are welcome to e-mail me anytime at kathy@perin.org  Like I said before, I only post under "Hayseed" because there were, at the time, lots of Kathy's and KathyP's and KPs posting and I just wanted to be different, otherwise I'd just use my regular old name.  I gots nothin' to hide and hopefully no one to hide from, well, except from the Jehovah's Witness' folks.  It's always been in my blood to just hide when I see 'em coming, don't know why really...that explanation is for another day I guess....

Oh my, aren't we uppity!

I've seen the Festivus episode.  I googled the information people said to Google and did NOT find it.  Obviously if someone has never heard of the "other evil board that shall not be named", it's not quite that easy to find it.

So get over yourself already and just post the name.

Well aren't you the lucky one! Most of us don't have
!
Do you REALLY think they aren't learning the
SF has one of the best school systems in the country.

As for 'separation of church and state', what makes you think this will be a religious ceremony? It may be nondominational.

I just can't believe the things I'm reading here this morning. It's really sad.
Aren't you guys always saying that
X
if you aren't doing it out of love
and because you want to, then don't!! You could allow others the opportunity, go out to eat, volunteer at a public dinner, etc. That's silly to do it all with that attitude. Be true to yourself.
Deeni - Are you sure you aren't ME? LOL
I'm just sorry I went full-in and did not figure it out first like you did.

I hope you are happy now in whatever relationship you are in...
Boy, you are pleasant, aren't you?
I would take a screaming toddler over you ANY day! Even someone's poorly behaved toddler.
You aren't bothering me....sm
The purse is 10-1/2 inches tall without handles and
10-1/2 inches wide. It is
4-1/4 inches deep from the front to back of the purse. With the handles it is 18-1/2 inches tall so the handles themselves are 8 inches.
LOL! Men are a whole different species, aren't they?
I have 'disappeared' a few clothing items too... They usually either don't notice or think they misplaced it somewhere - LOL!
Most of us on here aren't unemployed
But most of us are taxpayers and can see the cost of such a program. I won't even get into the infringements on personal rights. Unemployment is EARNED; the government has no right to try to find loopholes around preventing companies (think the Q here) from paying it out.

See the thread below about businesses that are and aren't

Mine aren't on the list...
Ours are a lab named Festus, a McNab named Jinx and two cats, Precious and Tiger. I'd just die laughing if Festus hit the top ten, that was my husband's big idea.
Aren't yeast infections
caused by the imbalance caused by all the heavy-duty antibiotics that have to be used nowdays to kill bacteria?

I am starting to see medical reports from journals saying that strong antibiotics seem to be causing the increase in serious allergies and asthma, and it's due to yeast and other fungi. Not all doctors are on board yet, but it took them along time to believe that ulcers were often caused by bacteria, so we shall see.
If your scissors aren't sharp enough, you can end up
literally sawing them off, which DOES hurt. (Trust me.)

I have also tied a thread tightly around the base, which cuts off the blood flow and they will die and fall off in a few days without pain.

Aren't those puppies the cutest!
I have a female Siberian husky who is the absolutely sweetest dog I have ever had.  I'm sorry for your loss.
Aren't they sweet all crammed in together like that!

I love to sleep with my critters too.  I sleep like a log when they are in bed.  Sadly, my poor husband does not.  He has to wear a CPAP and has a really bad back, so if the critters hog the bed, he's not a happy camper and I have to give them the boot.  Thankfully they've pretty much learned to sleep next to me, or on my head, or smooshed up against me so I can't move at all during the night.  Hey...maybe that's why I'm all crippled up come morning!

We actually bought a king size bed becase of the room needed to accompany everyone...how sad is THAT?!

LOL, dads are stubborn, aren't they?
I wish your friend the best of luck. I don't think his desire to want acknowledgment of his name choice is silly, either. Families are sure a trial sometimes.
LMAO--bipolar cat!! Aren't they all?!
I swear, that's exactly what makes 'em so great though!
Squirrels are creative, aren't they?

They can figure out a way to get into most birdfeeders.  True acrobats!

They ARE amazing, aren't they? Definitely scary - (sm)
when you're indoors.... so much banging, rattling, stuff falling, etc. But if you're lucky enough to be outdoors, as I was during the 1989 Loma Prieta quake (7.1 on the Richter), it's totally awe-inspiring. I was getting ready to wash my truck, and was carrying a bucket of soapy water across the yard. Suddenly the trees started shaking, and I thought a sudden breeze had come up on what had been a quiet, muggy day. Then I saw that the barn was swaying back and forth, and realized it was a quake. A few steps further, and it really started rolling. Had to hang onto the side of the truck to remain standing. Giant redwood trees were whipping back and forth so far that the tops of them were almost horizontal. We had a large pasture in front of the property for horses, and there were large waves in the ground, moving up and down with more than a foot and a half of vertical displacement. I couldn't help but laugh... it was pretty funny. Interestingly, all the horses turned and stood facing in exactly the direction of the epicenter. Once it stopped & I could let go of the truck, I ran into the landlord's backyard to look at the pool. The waves were big enough to surf on.

A friend of mine who lived up in the Santa Cruz mountains was driving down a long, steep, straight road when the quake hit, and she actually saw a big wave in the pavement (the primary, or P-wave) coming straight at her. She stopped and rode it out in the truck.

Another, very LUCKY friend, had been driving on I-880, and had just emerged from the covered section of freeway that collapsed when the quake hit, so wasn't caught in that awful disaster. He said it was weird... felt like he had a front flat tire, so he stopped on the side of the freeway to check his tires. As did several hundred other people! Imagine the whole freeway stopping, and everyone looking at their tires.... a 'Chinese fire drill', California-style.

My mom lives directly on top of the epicenter of the Northridge quake of ྚ. It was a very sharp vertical quake, and it literally threw her out of her bed, lengthwise. Good thing, because the bookshelf/headboard part of the bed fell over and landed where her head had been on the pillow.

I lived down there during the 1971 Sylmar quake, and I was trying to stay in my bed while it bucked like a bronco. My sister was in the bathroom hanging onto the sink & screaming. We had a jillion aftershocks from that one, which were more unnerving than the original quake. Every time we had an aftershock, another of my sisters started hyperventilating. That night, my parents were having the floor measured for new carpets. The poor contractor doing the measurements was so rattled by the shocks, not to mention everyone screeching and running out of the house when they hit, that he measured everything wrong, and the carpet they brought didn't fit. So a couple weeks later he had to come back and do it all over again. I was in Jr. College back then, and had a part-time job working at a stable. After the quake, when the sun came up I went up to the stables for work that day, and it was too dangerous to clean stalls with the horse in there during the aftershocks, so I had to take each horse out and put it in a corral while I cleaned the stall. Took me forever! I was up there all alone all day, and wasn't really worried, 'til I sat down on the ground to sharpen a pair of animal clippers. THAT'S when I realized that the ground was continually moving all the time.... jiggling very faintly, sort of like Jello. That's what got me feeling spooked.

Another time, I think in the 80's, when I was at work we had a long, not-that-strong, rolling quake. I was in the basement using the copy-machine at the time. I'd had a migraine that day and had just taken Fiorinal for it, which made me feel a little strange sometimes. While at the copy machine, I was feeling really dizzy and strange, and hearing strange creaking noises. I'm thinking, 'Wow... I don't feel so hot!' The rolling continued, and I felt kind of nauseous. Tried not to look at the light in the copier, which has triggered migraines in me in the past. Noticed lots of people standing in the doorway to the Medical Records dept. and Radiation Oncology, and my foggy brain wondered why they were all taking their break at the same time. Still felt sick, and decided that if I didn't feel better within the hour, that I would go home to bed. Right about then, (with the floor still rolling), someone commented to me on how nonchalantly I was copying away during an earthquake! I was actually relieved to learn that's what the problem was, and not a reaction to the medication! :D
why aren't your kids in school?
