Well because you can take the girl out of the trailer park
but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl ;)
your Trailer Park attitude is probably not helping
nm
you mean like a pop-up trailer?
We used to have a little Coleman years ago and loved it. We really only sold it because we wanted to save for a hard shell one so we would be more comfortable camping at the beach. We now have a truck slide-in.
falling out of your trailer
this is ridiculous advice.
Even with a mobile home---not *trailer*..sm
you still have to make your own repairs, as you have purchased the house and it is yours, unless you rent one somewhere, and good luck with that! You also still have to upkeep the lot you are sitting on. You pay a *lot fee* but you are basically renting it. You do the lawn, bushes etc. Mostly you still pay for your own water, and utilities. sometimes garbage pickup is included in the lot fee, but not always. Yes, they have some really nice ones these days, but a lot of insurance companies will not insure the single wides, only the double wides. there is a lot to consider even with a mobile home. Condo's are expensive, unless you rent. There again, if you decide to move, they depreciate in value and you have to sell it instead of rent it out. There are down sides to everything, and very few upsides. good luck with your decision.
I saw the trailer on TV. That story is SO strange, -sm
I'm going to have to drop what I'm doing and watch it tonight. The doll thing is just TOO weird! Why wouldn't those women lavish that love on an adopted baby, or at least a pet?
Eviction. Foreclosure. Are you still in the trailer? Do you rent the land?

no more Britney TV
Is anyone else sick of seeing and hearing about Britney's latest psychiatric diagnoses every time you turn on the tube?  Honestly, is there nothing more interesting happening in the world than the escapades of that little twerp?  I went all day today without turning on the TV.  It was heavenly!  But then the minute I turn on CNN this evening, and there she is.  Aarrggh!
Britney
I would be really nice if everyone would just leave the poor girl alone. Well, except whoever it takes to get her some proper help. And the paparazzi should go away. This is so typical - all this press about this person while there are tons more important things to worry about in this country - oh yeah, I guess that's the point!
the underlying read-between-the-lines message of the insurance lobbyist's message was (sm)
to, yes, appeal the denied claim.  However, she lobbies for the insurance companies.  She comes across sounding like she's on the patient's side but in reality she is on the side of the insurance company.  The insurance company gets to deny whatever claims they want right off the bat.  That leaves the SICK patient (who needs the coverage NOW when they are sick) to have to go through the appeals process.  That could take quite a while.  Imagine a cancer patient being denied some form of treatment that is going to help them.  They now have to go through the appeals process (or pay out of pocket) in order for that treatment to be covered.  In the MEANTIME their cancer is progressing.  From the point of view of the insurance company, if they drag it out long enough they don't have to pay for it at all.  That same insurance lobbyist was on 20/20 a little while back and basically came right out and said that the insurance companies COULDN'T AFFORD to pay for coverage for sick people.  She's not on the patient's side.

I was actually out putting trash out when
the police car got there. The neighbors, as I said before were not home at the time. The officer asked if I was the caller and when we were talking about the problem the neighbors pulled up. I was not about to wimp out and act like it was a big surprise that the police were there. I confronted the issue and was not two-faced about it. Since I worte this morning I found out that this guy went to the neighbors and complained about me and asked if they had any problems with his dogs barking. Each and every one stood up for me 100%.  What I don't understand is why he didn't apologize to me after driving me crazy for so long instead of being rude and acting like a two-year-old. The police agreed and told him so. Also, as I stated before I was not sad about the neighbor. I was sad about the dogs. Their barking was not their fault. They need supervison and the neighbor needs to know that each of us in a neighborhood needs to be mindful of others. I am glad I did what I did now.
You might be right about Him not making trash.
Seems like she has done a good enough job by herself, oh, and her mother right along there. I have said for sometime she was really sick, desperately needing help, needing the attention or else she would not be putting herself in situations such as showing her behind - you nor I have made her do these things- she does these on her own. If her face plastered everywhere, again did you or I do that? Don't think so. She has needed psychiatric help for ages. The part where she cut off her head was a very telling point, same as self abuse. Anyone who has typed psychiatric work before knows about this. Same as multilating yourself and there is another celeb out there who does this, initials LL. This make get taken off the board, I hope not because is truthful. She has been crashing for some time. I wondered when the kids were going to be taken completely out of her care. This should have been done a long time ago for their safety, only supervised visits. Well, guess someone finally saw clear on that. After this required 72 hours of hospitalization she will make the choice to leave, I am sure and it will be a shame. She loves the limelight, though. She is really pitiful.
Doesn't she still live in that trailer? Or has she graduated to a double wide? lol

I look a lot like Britney Spears....
from the waist down. LOL! Couldn't resist.
On Bald Britney
I agree with you. Lots of non-famous people have psychological problems as well. The girl just had 2 kids in less than 2 years, right? She was photographed and criticized for driving with the oldest one in her lap, then tripping with him, and having Child Protective Services involved in one incident, even though she and Kevin did the responsible thing by taking the child to the ER. Then, she had a divorce. All of these things are bad enough for any new mother, but to have them plastered all over the internet and have people who don't know you or the detail of the situation making judgments about you, has to hurt. Even rich famous people have feelings.

The fact that Britney has been running around with Paris, etc., just says to me she is a young woman trying to find herself. She is doing exactly what she is supposed to be doing at her age - experimenting.

I am quite sure her children are very well taken care of - rich people like that don't diaper their own kids, the nannies do it. Those 2 little boys have a slew of bodyguards and nannies 24/7.

I'm not a Britney fan, never have been, don't think she has any talent at all and she is not very cute IMO, but lots of people like her.

This head shaving thing is probably just a manifestation of her inner desire to start over. She's a tough cookie and she'll be just fine.

Personally, I'm nauseous over all this Anna Nicole coverage - it's impossible to avoid it.

I can't believe I wrote this - I don't care about these people, but it's 3 a.m. and I can't sleep.
Huh, Britney, sorry bout that
NM
Should be her sister, not Britney

Why watch that trash...Whoppi
is the low-fat version of Rosie...they pretty much have the same politics but Whoppi is a bit toned down, has a bit more sense and does not let most of the left-wing loons tell her what to say. The show and its hosts are vapid and a waste of time.
Please don't use the term "trailer trash" (sm)
It offends me...children have no choice but to grow up where their parents raise them and many good decent people live in trailers. I grew up living in poor areas, part of the time in trailers. I was a good kid, good grades, tried hard to be a good person but got made fun of a lot and called "trailer trash" or "white trash". It is very unfair to group people all together in a big clump and stereotype them like that. I overcame the way I grew up, but to this day, if I decide I want to move into a trailer, I sure will.
I agree and besides now they are mansion trash ! LOL
x
I love keeping out trash
like the person described above next door to her, love that have not seen 1 home here that is boarded up and reposssed, love that animals are not allowed to roam all over the place, love no cars sitting on blocks and junking up the neighborhood, love my neighbors are friendly, quiet and don’t have beer parties at all hours of the night, love the beautiful landscaping of our yards- in all just love being here in my little section of heaven.
dog park

I've never been to a dog park....Sounds like Cedric had a great time.  Thanks for sharing the trail pic with you and the kids...that was precious, so peaceful....looks kinda like my backyard (a wilderness preserve).

You're a great dog mommy!... Cat

Thanks, yes it is, and especially PARK. (sm)
I've been driving a huge Ford Freestar, so this is itsy bitsy to me. When you open the tiny hood, the engine says VVT1. I believe this stands for Very, Very Tiny One. :o}
If you mean Britney Spears, who hasn't? lol
Sorry, I just saw the most recent article and pictures of her. My oh my.
Latest on Britney....check it out

On Friday night, Britney Spears sported a bald head and new tattos.  (ABC News)

I just read in a newspaper that Britney is now....

OMG, hear Britney's sister is
pregnant, 16 years old. If I were their mother, I would right now be pulling my hair out!! As if the mother didn’t have enough to contend with, now this.
Britney Spears, can she get any stupider??
She had a breakdown last night and held her infant son hostage for 4 hours before she finally gave him back.  Then, of course, she was carted off to the ER with the police noting she seemed to be under the influence of an unknown substance.  Guess we know she really doesn't want her children back after all!  For God's sake, at least she could leave her children alone and let their stable father give them a warm and loving environment instead of subjecting them to the crap she puts them through!
Britney versus paparazzi . . .

Better rules than to live in trash city
I live to live a little better upscale life than that. It is my hubby, me and the furries and that is so good for me. No kids running thru the yard, no knock down, dragouts. Living in the country or city does not guarantee you good neighbors. Trying to sell 6+ acres of lake front (not where I live nor have I ever lived there) but in the country and those people on each side the neighbors from hades. They wanted to buy from me and I would not sell to them but that is in the country and ??? If you call making sure your kids nor animals don't roam and no beer battles, neighbors with their loud, obxious music and shaking my home a problem, not for us. We absolutely love it and by the way, the cost of these homes really keeps that rift-raft out, thank goodness! You pay for what you get.
...tape the bag closed and throw it in outside trash until
s
I would park nearby
Where you would not be suspicious and wait for someone coming out with a bank deposit bag. I'd follow them when they took it to the bank.
No, my husband thought they would store the trailer with the quads in the back corner of their yard.
away from the road.  The trailer that had been stolen previously was in their front yard unfenced.  And you drive the quad off the trailer and that is it.  Really, the reason it wasn't unloaded is because our garage was a huge mess and he was too tired to clean it late at night to the quads could fit in it.  Unloading them and loading them wasn't the problem.  It was the garage we have that looks like a tornado hit.
True, but I doubt Britney is that deep! - nm

Her mother is a piece of trash. So is that biological father.
nm
Beach/road trash pickup, help neighbors
with yard work, or help little old ladies do things around the house. Not sure what things you've tried that require them to be 14, but there's always animal shelters and teaching little kids to read. I'm not sure if you need approval, but they could help collect canned goods or toys for the Salvation Army or other charities.
All forwards I put in the trash folder immediately even if I know the person.
People get mad at me for never responding, but I get annoyed when people who call me their friends send me 50 of these a day. It reminds me of telemarketing or junk mail only sent by friends! The only thing I ever do to family or close friends, is if I see an article in the paper, or on MSN, I e mail a link to the article. I do this like twice a year that's it. I had one friend actually never speak to me again, because she would send tons of these forwards and I'd never answer. She got extremely annoyed with me. Oh, well, I recently deleted my junk folder and it feels good. LOL.
Is there a local park with tables to have it at?

Sunday walk in the park
DH and I were walking the dogs in a small park yesterday and a reddish bird swooped in front of us. It was the same color as a thrasher, but since he landed on a nearby tree limb I stopped to check. It was a tiny owl. Apparently an Eastern screech owl. They are common yet rarely noticed, so we thought it was really neat. The dogs never reacted to him at all, and the owl seemed as curious about us as we were about him. Our faces were maybe 4 feet from him.
OMG - I just saw your post, Hyde Park NY

Your post just reminded me of how my mother used to take me to the Vanderbilt Mansion and FDR's home both in Hyde Park, NY ALL THE TIME when I was growing up.  I did a couple of book reports on FDR too.

I didn't care for the golden-looking Vanderbilt Mansion (hey, I was a kid...*lol*) but I loved FDR's home.  I remember the leash of Fala (his dog) laying across his bed...I had to be 6 to 14 years old when these trips occurred.  Mother also then took me to the Catskill Game Farm where we fed animals and I don't think many were caged, or my memory is failing on that.

Just brought back my past and where I grew up......  Thanks for that!!

And now I'm turning on my TIVO'd Anderson Cooper *grins*....for those who might not  know, Gloria Vanderbilt is Anderson's Mom.....

Cedric's first trip to the dog park
We had no idea how Cedric would do at the dog park, but his play with Sasha in our own backyard has been quite boisterous, and I wanted him to try playing with younger dogs. We brought him in and all he wanted to do was smell the fragrances around the gate. He looked alarmed to see other dogs roaming around. We could not coax him away from the gate, and finally DH leashed him up and walked him all around the inside perimeter and ended up on the far side. At this point he started cautiously sniffing actual dogs, and before long he was willing to romp a little as long as it was just one dog at a time. He did a little running and was having a great time, even when just watching a big pack of dogs running. You could see how he was learning all about interacting with dogs and playing with balls. At the very end it occurred to him there were also people to meet, but it was getting dark and Sasha wanted to walk the park path, so we did that. Cedric liked that too, but at first when he saw the tennis players whacking stuff with rackets, it confused him.

Then we got some food and gave the dogs their tiny bites, which is always a treat for them.

When we got home, Cedric climbed all over DH to show his appreciation, and today he has been lying at his feet. Plus, he has a new appreciation for a tennis ball we have, and when he got up on the couch with me, he chewed on that instead of me.

A very good activity for Cedric.
I'll join you in Jurassic Park!
I'm a dinosaur, too. I don't see the need for teenagers to have their own cars. But, my eldest did inherit his grandfather's sturdy little car. He was nearly 18 when that happened, and his high school was in the next county. For the last six months of school, he skipped the hour-long bus ride and was able to drive to school and save about 40 minutes in his commute to school. He drove on the days he needed to be home to work after school at a movie theater, about 12 hours a week. He was also a great help to me in driving his younger brothers to events when my schedule was over-booked.

I have friends who gift their children brand new, expensive cars at the age of 16, and I just don't understand that. The kids seem to be using the vehicles to further their social lives, and they certainly aren't paying attention to the road. And you are very correct about so many angry and distracted drivers on the road. It's a scary thing to put a teenager on the road alone. This is why we raised the age level to 17 in our home, even though the Commonwealth of PA seems to think that 16-1/2 is age appropriate for driving.
What a lovely idea. I can do this at a park that she and I both took my children to when they were
!
Whenever I watch one of the Jurassic Park movies,
velociraptors. But mostly T-rexes. The weird part is, I and the people I'm with in the dream aren't really AFRAID of it, but it's presence is an almost-daily ANNOYANCE that we have to take cover from as the dinosaur passes by. In one dream, right in the middle of some sort of fun activity, "Dang! The Rex is coming!" and we all ended up hiding in a bunker of some kind 'til it went away.
care for the handicap person who tries to park there. Ask her why she uses the tag.
nm
I live in condo and go to park to grill out. SM

I use an automatic lighter, but the thing stinks. It's just a cheapie thing, maybe they all are. Are there any better lighters out there? I'm not taking Sharper Image, but just something better you might use to light candles, start a fire or what not?

I'm sure I sound stupid.  I'm not exactly Miss Handyperson.  If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.  Or should I just go to Home Depot and try to find someone (which is the problem with that place) to help.

This has to be the dumbest question asked all day on this board, I know.

Zoey pulled, great for that, Britney has been a train wreck for
some time. I am glad her sister's show got cancelled. She supposedly is looked up to by these little teeners, not good. I have read there are money problems for the mother, good about that too, she has lived off both her daughters, let them get a regular job. Britney has been spinning out of control for at least over a year and hopefully someone will have her committed. If you or I, and not answering the courts with their demands for parenting clases, drug checks, depositions, etc. we would have already been jailed. It is no different with her. The mother is accountable probably for her sister's pregnancy, heard she let the boyfriend live with them, just trailer trash all of them.
There were a lot of albino deer in Shenandoah Natl Park.
I don't know if they are still a "problem". A while back, hunters were asked to specifically look for and thin them from the herds -- something to do with weakening the gene pool. I don't know anything about wildlife management, but I know that I've seen a good number of albino deer in SNP. It is exciting to see them!
they let the nudists play in the park and ride their bikes through town
