Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. LOL. I get that from Bath and Body Works. sm

Seems like the minute I run out of a fave scent and go to get more, it has been discontinued. I think it is a conspiracy by Bath and Body works. LOL.

If you have a bath and body works locally, try...sm
their shower gels and body butter in whatever fragrance you prefer.  I too have such dry skin that it cracks and bleeds, especially on my hands and feet.  I can write on the skin on my arms and legs it gets so dry, and my face looks like a road map if I don't moisturize.  I also have very sensitive skin, but the perfumes they use don't seem to bother my skin.  I use the Neutragena Wave foaming cleansing pads on my face and then use the body butter.  Also try not to take really hot showers, the heat is very hard on the skin, and make sure you pat dry, not rub as that tears the skin.  Apply the body butter first thing in the morning, right out of the shower and again right before you go to bed.  That may seem like a lot, but it does not take much of the body butter.  I use it usually about 3 times a day, sometimes more on my hands, and mine still lasts quite a while.
Bath and Body Works gift certificate or basket can't go wrong for a girl. sm
i made a basket for my brother one year. i had no clue either, but he seemed to really like it. i did a "night at the movie" theme. filled the basket with snack things since all men i know like to snack, lol. i put in there popcorn, pringles, candy bars, fudge, drinks, gift certificates to Blockbuster, etc. men also like games like checkers, chess, dominoes, poker, etc so maybe a nice poker set or something?
Bath and Body sm
My DH got me some B/B red leather collection stuff, makeup bag, manicure/pedicure set (awesome) and a little purse which came with Moonlight Path shower gel and body lotion. I already had the overnight bag and the tote. I just can't get enough of that red - I'm a bling, bling girl all the way!!!
I like the ones from Bath and Body called
socks to sleep in. They are so soft and so warm. My feet are also constantly freezing. I wear slippers all winter long. I have some, the brand is "old Friend" and they are leather with sheep skin in them. Your feet do not get sweaty, just toasty warm. I go through a pair every year because I wear them until it is about 70 degrees outside.
Yeah, I am for Ranger, I don't know...I guess I like the mysterious bad boy type!
nm
Sorry, that's "warm bath" but arm bath is okay too LOL
Hope you do well, I'm thinking of you!
Update on Roxy the lone finch
She has already become very attached to her mirror.  She is no longer constantly chirping, which I do miss but I know it wasn't her normal personality so I felt like it was her way of grieving.  The websites that was suggested has been a big help.  I has a chart stating which finches are best to combine.  We will definitely get another bird for her, we just need to find the right one.  Thanks to all.
Just heard lone gunman took his own life ...
God bless his poor troubled soul.
It doesn't matter "where you stand." What works for you is fine. What works for me is fine.
Comparing ourselves as to frequency is ridiculous.
I have seen them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond....
or it may be Linens and Things in your area.
What do you use to bath him? - sm
My min-pin was always itching and scratching and rubbing on anything he could. Then the vet told me to use baby shampoo on him, and it worked. Plus I only bath him like every other month or so. Gets a little stinky, but I love him anyways. I don't usually give him a bath until his coat starts to look not so shiny. Seems to have worked so far.
Not until after his bath, LOL.
He just came out of the shelter and I can hardly wait for him to be clean.

But oh does he appreciate belly scritches.

He is such a good boy.
LOL the bath tub
I JUST thought of doing that. I'm sitting here telling myself my husband will think I have completely lost it if he comes home to see I have filled every empty jug in the house with water and the bath tub!!! lol I'm doing it anyway. Glad I'm not the only one to think of that.

We are also in MI. I keep thinking back to the other ice storm we had a few years back and the blackout where there was no gasoline or anything. Scary stuff but I would just like to try to prepare this time around if I can. As soon as I finish up here I'm working off your list. Some really great ideas to catch up laundry, charging batteries, etc. Thanks!
Have you tried a cool bath. sm
I have also heard rubbing the child down with alcohol helps.  Prayers going up for your baby.
Old dog getting stinky - even the day after a bath! (nm)

Bath and teeth

Maybe it's the toothpaste.  Some of it tastes yucky to a kid or the mint may be too strong or brushing could be irritating his gums.  Let him pick a child's toothpaste and soft toothbrush and see if that helps.  As for baths,  I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the tub.  What mom didn't know was that my older sister kept sneaking in and pulling the plug, telling me I was going to go down the drain. She said if I told mom she would call the adoption agency and tell them to take me back (I wasn't adopted, but at age 4 I didn't know that).  Maybe he saw something on TV that scared him.   Some shows are pretty graphic (news too). I recall one show where a lady was brushing her teeth and blood started pouring from the faucet. Try letting him sit in a dry tub with a bucket of water for a sponge bath.  Sit down and talk with the kid (not talk to) and assure him/her that if there is something going on you can help.

Why did they say your dog needed a bath?
I just throw my collie mix outside when it rains and maybe take him to the groomer 2 or 3 times a year. If he was rolling around in mud and dead animals, that would be different.
How did an innocent bubble bath
This discussion the strangest thing I have ever heard in my life!  My husband uses body butter from Bath and Body Works, but he's not gay, and he is very, very masculine.  He just has dry skin and cares about his appearance.  I'd prefer clean and fresh, then nasty, stinky, unkempt with dirty fingernails.  I don't think there is anything wrong with a man caring about his appearance.  To each his own I guess.
Rock. Bath or shower?

Pedi. Bath or shower?

Bath/shower gel? Pair of earrings?
Nightgown/pajamas?  Gloves/ scarf?  Candle?  CD or DVD?  Purse?  Movie tickets?
I haven't tried the cool bath or the compresses yet.
I will try those and see if it helps to break the fever.  Thanks so much for the replys.
Buy one of those bathtubs and fill them up with bath toys sm
and baby towels, washcloths, Johnson & Johnson stuff, etc.

Or buy one of those dishwashwer tubs that fit into the dishwasher that holds nipples, pacifiers, etc and wrap that up in a baby bath towel with a big bow on it.
Get a basket and fill it up with onesies, socks, kits that include medicines, etc.

I love going to baby showers and creating unique gifts!
tub bath outside in sun or cozy in front of fire

Throwing out the baby with the bath water
It seems somehow kinda wrong to determine that the health care is good enough for our military but I sure as heck don't want it for me. It's like those situations where instead of increasing standards all around to make something to be proud of, you lower the standards to the least common denominator. There is no reason not to use the military system and fix what's wrong with it rather than determine that it won't work. My girls were delivered in naval hospital, had surgery in naval hospitals, saw Navy doctors, etc., etc. The care my family received through them in wait times, time spent with patient, treatment, etc., was no worse than it was when we belonged to Kaiser years later.
I wasn’t clear enough, I meant when others bath your furkids
Sorry..
Don't use alcohol. Fumes are no good. Just playing in a coolish bath while

Think what you need are called deep pocket sheets. Try Linens n Things, Bed and Bath, JCP. nm

Only the 2nd one if I had the body......nm

With a body like that, hmmm you could also do
porno but just not the way I would want others to see me. Sorry, I have family that I just would not want to shame them much less myself. Just not an exhibitionist here.
Well maybe the body but NO WAY that face.
I'd rather be fat and pretty. LOL
you should really do that...keeps a body busy. NM

Body aches

I've been transcribing for 5 years, and my body hurts all the time, seems like.

How do some of you girls do this for 10, 20, 30 years and still function?  I have back aches, shoulder aches, neck pain, headaches, forearm aches.  I've tried different chairs, keyboards, body posiiton, and it's the same.

Currently, I'm going to school, and I just can't wait.

I have my office at the end of the hall, and it's like Hell is at the end of the hall.  Sometimes, I just hate this room.  I don't even come in here on my days off, even if I have to use the PC.  I look around this room, and just think, "How can I dislike a room so much?"

HOW do you girls do it for so long?

Neutrogena body oil
Works really well for me. I put it on after taking a shower and towel drying. I use it every day when it first starts, then taper it down to every other day, etc. as tolerated and use regular lotion on the inbetween days.

I find Mary Kay and Avon products are great for sensitive dry skin too. I like Mary Kay lotions and the Avon Skin So Soft is nice too but prefer Neutrogena or the Wal-Mart brand body oil because it seems to soak in faster and not leave me feeling greasy.
I think it is her body, her choice, and
her business. In the same category with men donating sperm or couples going to a fertility clinic.

first trimester that is.
And how is it your business what I put in to my body, if I sm
do not drive, use in the privacy of my own home? You are a self-righteous prig. MYOB. Live your life.

Alcohol and cigs should be illegal?? Wow, what a repressive person. Just b/c you don't like something doesn't give you the right to take it away from everyone else.
6-week body makover
The program involves eating for your specific body type. Both DH and I are trying this, basically 5 to 6 small meals a day, each with small amount of protein and small amount of carb and plenty of salads. Water, water, water. Also walking and stretching exercises. So far so good, lost 8 pounds first week, DH lost 10. But you have to really stick with the program. I decided to go with it because I know a lady who lost almost 100# on the program. You might try eating a little more low calorie foods and splitting it up into 5 small meals a day, might help you not to be so starved. Tried Adkins before, which I could do, but surprisingly my "Meat-eating" husband could not stick to it. We are doing this more for health reasons than anything, strong family hx of diabetes in DH family and he is already somewhat hypoglycemic so we want to avoid going down that diabetes road if possible. Get a strong movivating factor to help you stick with whatever plan you choose.
Oh my aching body...need suggestions..sm

I am only 29 but my body feels like it is 99!!  At the end of the day, my shoulders ache and my arms feel like they weigh 100 pounds each.  I have everything ergonomic from keyboard to adjustable arm rests to foot rest.  I even do exercises throughout the day but nothing seems to help.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Has anyone used the 6 week body makeover and what
weight, etc.
not sure but an MD told me that a lot of body itching

and the product he ordered for me and my daughter was something like Exelon shampoo (prescription but I may be misspelling it) - it's the same ingredient as what is in Selsun Blue which can be bought over the counter.

Hope she feels better too........we when through this when my daughter was a teen..........

Just visited Montana and no body
lives in Montana nor a lot of the states where I visited. Saw lots of horses, though. Drove for miles without seeing a soul, no houses, no businesses, only horses.
There are 2 body styles. The 4-door (sm)
style like mine is easier to find, but my sister got the 3-door one, which looks even more modern and flashy and tiny. Super cute.

It rates extremely well by Consumer Reports - top in its category for reliability. This car has been around a while in Europe, but only arrived here about 1 year ago.

On the down side, my very tall hubby does bump his head sometimes when trying to get in, but he sits unusually tall for somebody 6 foot 3 inches. I wouldn't say it has as much leg room as he'd prefer, but it is very drivable even for him.

Do you suppose your body ever becomes immune
to raw eggs? LOL. My brother and I constantly did this as children and lickily never got side. I now have to fight my children now from doing this becuase now I know better but they sometimes still sneak and get by with it. Once again no one has ever gotten sick but I know there is always a first time for everything. Just so hard to walk away from cake beaters.

Top 10 Useless Body Parts.

When you're sick you may feel that certain body parts are more trouble than they're worth. And in some cases, you'd be right. While the human body has evolved and adapted significantly since the caveman days, a few biological traces of our prehistoric ancestors still remain with us in the form of freeloading body parts we lug around with us, but have no use for. Take a gander at the top offenders!

10. Plica semilunaris
You may not know it, but you have a third eyelid. Pull open the two more noticeable eyelids and take a look -- it's located right in the corner by the tear duct. This small third eyelid is left over from what's known as a "nictitating membrane," which is still present in full form in some animals including chickens, lizards and sharks.

9. Body hair
No doubt we were once hairier. Up until about 3 million years ago, we were covered with body hair. But by the time Homo erectus arrived, the ability to sweat meant we could shed our woolly ways.

8. Sinuses
Doctors don't really know much about sinuses -- only that we have a lot of them. Possibilities for their function range from insulating our eyes to changing the pitch and tone of our voice.

7. Adenoids
Adenoids trap bacteria, but they're also prone to swelling and infection. Just ask any 7-year-old. Luckily, our adenoids shrink with age and are often removed, along with ...

6. Tonsils
Also prone to swelling and infection. If you still have them when you reach your 30s, it's almost an accomplishment.

5. Coccyx
More useful as a game-winning Scrabble word than as part of the anatomy, the coccyx or tailbone, is made up of several fused vertebrae left over from the olden days when we had tails.

4. Arrector pili
When we were hairier (see No. 9), the arrector pili made the hairs stand on end when we needed to appear bigger and scarier. Now, it just gives us goose bumps.

3. Wisdom teeth
Back in the day, when we ate mammoth meat off the bone and didn't floss afterward, our teeth tended to fall out. Therefore, when those reserve molars, aka "wisdom teeth," came in, they were welcomed. Nowadays, fluoride and dental plans have made them just a huge pain.

2. Appendix
Darwin claimed the appendix was useful for digestion during our early plant-eating years; it's dwindled down to little since we started eating more digestible foods.

1. Male nipples
Because, why?

Mind and body are created together

Is our body actually our own, or does it belong to society? Roe versus Wade, right-to-die cases, such issues show that's a very hard question for us all. We might acknowledge that God created the body, but we don't always acknowledge he also created the mental state. We note that some bodies are created with handicaps and we medically try to correct them, we even invent percieved handicaps and correct them (Botox, anyone?) but we are very confused as to at what point this is "OK" and at what point it is "wrong" (think Michael Jackson). However, we seem accept in general that if one is unhappy with one's body/condition, it can be "fixed" and it doesn't have to stay exactly the same as it was originally created; otherwise we would not try to prolong life with medicine, but would accept the original creation as involately holy and leave it alone. We don't often question, judge or condemn someone's opinion of what their body needs, we accept that is up to them as the inhabitant to make that call. If you say you need Lasix surgery, no biggie. If you say you need an abortion, you might experience some arguments and judgements about that. But if you say you need gender surgery, take cover, here comes armageddon! And oh boy, if you choose to have a baby in the middle of changing your gender, prepare to catch it from the entire planet!

The national media, in their infinite wisdom, picked up on this story for its pure sensationalism.  How very kind and supportive they are, as usual.

There is a growing body of evidence
that circumcision is simply not worth the risks. Among clinical investigators, not just "kidhealth dot com."

If the risks of bleeding or infection are higher with circumcision as an adult, then for heaven's sake, don't do it then, either! Unless, obviously, there is a surgical indication for it.

I repeat: Having a foreskin is not a surgical indication.
My mom donated her body to science - sm
so we had nothing. She did not want us to do anything. We did mail a note to all my parents friends, etc. letting them know she had died, etc. but that was the extent of it. I said "goodbye" to my mom in the hospital morgue. They gave me a very hard time about it and did not want to let me but I insisted, explaining we were not having a funeral, etc. Took them an hour to arrange it once they finally agreed to let me see her. My brother and dad went with me, though I would have rather been alone. My dad already said his goodbyes in the room as did my brother. I drove up 4 hours so I could that night. My other brother did not make it though. His wife I think is the only one that has had a problem with the fact that there was no funeral or memorial service. We all just took things from the house that reminded us of mom and I think that helped. I have my mom's old recliner and I sit in it sometimes and talk to her. Plus when we get together we openly talk about mom and past events, etc., even my dad does despite his re-marriage and I know he is very happy in his marriage. But all in all we have all been fine with it, I think it helps to know my mom hated funerals, was not that religious, and we honored her wishes.
She extends her entire body and scratches every
door jam almost like she is marking everything as her very own.  She is an older cat, so declawing is not an option.  She is not an outside cat, but we have always felt that if we declawed her and she did happen to get outside that she would not be able to defend herself.  She is a very good cat other than that like I said.  She does claw the furniture a tad, but not as bad as the door jams.  I can't even tell where she has clawed the furniture.  She actually just leaves more dander on the furniture than actually clawing, so I guess we are lucky in that regard.  She just really keeps me company, and I try to say "no" and scare her away from the door jams, but we have allowed one that she can scratch, which is in the entry to the area where her litter box is kept in the basement.  We may be confusing her though.  Thanks for all of your help.
I was wondering why no soaping with my new body soap
gosh, used it 2 days and on this 2nd day looked at the bottle and it is body lotion. That's what happens after you reach a certain age- those fine lines are more difficult to read.
