I was wondering why no soaping with my new body soap

gosh, used it 2 days and on this 2nd day looked at the bottle and it is body lotion. That's what happens after you reach a certain age- those fine lines are more difficult to read.

For Soap watchers

What soap opera do you watch regularly and how long have you been watching it?

Mine is AMC and I've been watching it from the beginning in 1970.

For the B&B soap watchers...
Does Brooke make you wanna pull her hair out??? She is disgustingly desperate...I cannot stand it!   I'm rooting for Taylor and Nick, bump Brooke and Ridge...hope he goes to jail and she dries up!
Use Dove bar soap to get the Vaseline out.
My daughter got into a jar of Vaseline when she was two years old. My pediatrician suggested Dove bar soap. It worked like magic! Hope this helps.
With artificial soap and water??

…Get off your soap box, we have heard how great
the man is, several times, wonderful for you- not EVERY person is the same, ok?
How I make my own laundry soap. . sm
The basic ingredients are Borax, Washing Soda, and Fels Naptha. You could also use Ivory soap instead of the Fels Naptha. I also use the Fels Naptha to get out stains by wetting the fabric and rubbing the Fels Naptha directly on the stain.

I really like the laundry soap, but it did take a little while to get used to it. It doesn't make hardly any suds and I was worried about whether or not it was doing a good job of cleaning. My DH is very picky, especially about laundry soap. I didn't even tell him I was making my own soap, and he didn't notice! I do put a little bleach (about 2 tablespoons) in with my towels because they never smelled fresh. I had to do this even when I used Tide or Era. We have well water, and our water has an odor sometimes. When I first started using this laundry soap, I would only use it for clothes that weren't heavily soiled. I gradually started using it for everything when I realized that it was doing a pretty good job. It is fun to make and so cheap.

I hope it is okay to post links on this website. This is where I got my recipe- http://www.thefamilyhomestead.com/laundrysoap.htm
I used to LOVE soap with toys in it.
I think I had one when I was little called Fuzzy Wuzzy--or maybe I don't remember.  (I'm 45 now.)  But what a great thing to recreate.
Use every last drop of dish soap...sm

I don't have a dishwasher so I have to use liquid soap.  I never throw the bottle away because I can't squeeze anymore out.  When I'm running my next dishwater, I run water in the bottle and use every last drop.  The cap even has enough residue on it for 1 load.  Same goes for shampoo and conditioner.  Even laundry soap.

I'll often use shampoo for body wash.  If you use Suave or VO5 it's usually only .99 a bottle and when it's on sale for less than that I'll buy a few bottles.  It's a lot cheaper than bodywash.

I try to do errands and appointments on the same day.  Mapped out right so I save gas.

Never buy infant, toddler, preschool kids clothes brand new.  Buy at thrift, second hand stores or garage sales.  They outgrow them faster than the bank statement arrives.  They also tend to stain and ruin clothes pretty darn easily and quickly.

Well, I got a cast list (not on Soap C) and she wasn't on it.

i thought you wanted to talk about soap!

Ohh, Cetaphil, try their soap for dry and sensitive skin!
Wonderful products!
I put Dawn dish soap in the dishwasher
I did not realize laundry soap and dishwasher detergent do not make bubbles. I didn't have any dishwasher detergent so decided to just a few drops of Dawn. Suds came out of the top of the dishwasher and all over the kitchen. For a few drops, it filled the kitchen. You would think it would be easy to clean up but it was terrible. Soap suds can't just be mopped up, especially when they are 3 inches tall. lol
How many of you are making the homemade laundry soap?
I just did this week and I love it. Its going to save so much on laundry detergent. I'm very happy with the results.

HOMEMADE LAUNDRY DETERGENT

Ingredients:
3.1 oz bar Ivory soap or 2 regular bar sizes(Ivory is chosen because it's all natural. You may use a soap of your choice)
1 cup 20 Mule Team Borax

½ cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda or Baking Soda (I used baking soda since I couldn't find the washing soda)
Water

Tools:

5 Gallon container
Knife
Pot large enough to hold 5 cups of water
Long stirring stick/spoon (for 5 gallon container)

Instructions:

Shave the soap into small strips or grate it up finely with a grater and place in the pot with 5 cups of water. Bring the water just shy of a boil and stir until the soap is completely melted. When the soap is just about melted, pour 3 gallons of hot water into the 5-gallon container and let it sit until the soap in the pot is totally melted. Once all of the soap shavings are melted, pour the mixture into the 5-gallon container and stir.

Once the soap and water are thoroughly stirred, add the ½ cup pf washing soda and stir until dissolved. Once the washing soda is dissolved, pour in the cup of borax and stir again until dissolved.

***You can add essential oil flavors for the smell but I prefer without.

Old part-timer - the laundry soap recipe

I found this online and it's the closest to my own recipe.  It also includes the directions and the pricing comparisons included are also very similar to prices in my area.

The only difference is, in my part of the country, Arm & Hammer wash soda isn't common on the store shelves and I have to order it online.

Since one of the kiddos is sensitive to perfumes, I will sometimes divide part of one batch into a couple of smaller bottles and add a drop or two of lavender essential oils just for the master bathroom towels and bedsheets.

Billy Mays, doing ads for soap, just found dead
At age 50, my goodness. This week has without a doubt been one for the books. They said Billy Mays on flight that landed yesterday and as it did blew out tire in front. He was hit on head but stated he was alright. They found him dead this morning around 7 something.
I have been making my own laundry soap. It only costs me about $10 for a 6-month supply. nm

With a body like that, hmmm you could also do
porno but just not the way I would want others to see me. Sorry, I have family that I just would not want to shame them much less myself. Just not an exhibitionist here.
Bath and Body sm
My DH got me some B/B red leather collection stuff, makeup bag, manicure/pedicure set (awesome) and a little purse which came with Moonlight Path shower gel and body lotion. I already had the overnight bag and the tote. I just can't get enough of that red - I'm a bling, bling girl all the way!!!
Well maybe the body but NO WAY that face.
I'd rather be fat and pretty. LOL
you should really do that...keeps a body busy. NM

Body aches

I've been transcribing for 5 years, and my body hurts all the time, seems like.

How do some of you girls do this for 10, 20, 30 years and still function?  I have back aches, shoulder aches, neck pain, headaches, forearm aches.  I've tried different chairs, keyboards, body posiiton, and it's the same.

Currently, I'm going to school, and I just can't wait.

I have my office at the end of the hall, and it's like Hell is at the end of the hall.  Sometimes, I just hate this room.  I don't even come in here on my days off, even if I have to use the PC.  I look around this room, and just think, "How can I dislike a room so much?"

HOW do you girls do it for so long?

Neutrogena body oil
Works really well for me. I put it on after taking a shower and towel drying. I use it every day when it first starts, then taper it down to every other day, etc. as tolerated and use regular lotion on the inbetween days.

I find Mary Kay and Avon products are great for sensitive dry skin too. I like Mary Kay lotions and the Avon Skin So Soft is nice too but prefer Neutrogena or the Wal-Mart brand body oil because it seems to soak in faster and not leave me feeling greasy.
I think it is her body, her choice, and

Alcohol and cigs should be illegal?? Wow, what a repressive person. Just b/c you don't like something doesn't give you the right to take it away from everyone else.
6-week body makover
The program involves eating for your specific body type. Both DH and I are trying this, basically 5 to 6 small meals a day, each with small amount of protein and small amount of carb and plenty of salads. Water, water, water. Also walking and stretching exercises. So far so good, lost 8 pounds first week, DH lost 10. But you have to really stick with the program. I decided to go with it because I know a lady who lost almost 100# on the program. You might try eating a little more low calorie foods and splitting it up into 5 small meals a day, might help you not to be so starved. Tried Adkins before, which I could do, but surprisingly my "Meat-eating" husband could not stick to it. We are doing this more for health reasons than anything, strong family hx of diabetes in DH family and he is already somewhat hypoglycemic so we want to avoid going down that diabetes road if possible. Get a strong movivating factor to help you stick with whatever plan you choose.
Oh my aching body...need suggestions..sm

I am only 29 but my body feels like it is 99!!  At the end of the day, my shoulders ache and my arms feel like they weigh 100 pounds each.  I have everything ergonomic from keyboard to adjustable arm rests to foot rest.  I even do exercises throughout the day but nothing seems to help.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Has anyone used the 6 week body makeover and what
weight, etc.
not sure but an MD told me that a lot of body itching

and the product he ordered for me and my daughter was something like Exelon shampoo (prescription but I may be misspelling it) - it's the same ingredient as what is in Selsun Blue which can be bought over the counter.

Hope she feels better too........we when through this when my daughter was a teen..........

Just visited Montana and no body
lives in Montana nor a lot of the states where I visited. Saw lots of horses, though. Drove for miles without seeing a soul, no houses, no businesses, only horses.
I like the ones from Bath and Body called
socks to sleep in. They are so soft and so warm. My feet are also constantly freezing. I wear slippers all winter long. I have some, the brand is "old Friend" and they are leather with sheep skin in them. Your feet do not get sweaty, just toasty warm. I go through a pair every year because I wear them until it is about 70 degrees outside.
There are 2 body styles. The 4-door (sm)
style like mine is easier to find, but my sister got the 3-door one, which looks even more modern and flashy and tiny. Super cute.

It rates extremely well by Consumer Reports - top in its category for reliability. This car has been around a while in Europe, but only arrived here about 1 year ago.

On the down side, my very tall hubby does bump his head sometimes when trying to get in, but he sits unusually tall for somebody 6 foot 3 inches. I wouldn't say it has as much leg room as he'd prefer, but it is very drivable even for him.

Do you suppose your body ever becomes immune
to raw eggs? LOL. My brother and I constantly did this as children and lickily never got side. I now have to fight my children now from doing this becuase now I know better but they sometimes still sneak and get by with it. Once again no one has ever gotten sick but I know there is always a first time for everything. Just so hard to walk away from cake beaters.

Top 10 Useless Body Parts.

When you're sick you may feel that certain body parts are more trouble than they're worth. And in some cases, you'd be right. While the human body has evolved and adapted significantly since the caveman days, a few biological traces of our prehistoric ancestors still remain with us in the form of freeloading body parts we lug around with us, but have no use for. Take a gander at the top offenders!

10. Plica semilunaris
You may not know it, but you have a third eyelid. Pull open the two more noticeable eyelids and take a look -- it's located right in the corner by the tear duct. This small third eyelid is left over from what's known as a "nictitating membrane," which is still present in full form in some animals including chickens, lizards and sharks.

9. Body hair
No doubt we were once hairier. Up until about 3 million years ago, we were covered with body hair. But by the time Homo erectus arrived, the ability to sweat meant we could shed our woolly ways.

8. Sinuses
Doctors don't really know much about sinuses -- only that we have a lot of them. Possibilities for their function range from insulating our eyes to changing the pitch and tone of our voice.

7. Adenoids
Adenoids trap bacteria, but they're also prone to swelling and infection. Just ask any 7-year-old. Luckily, our adenoids shrink with age and are often removed, along with ...

6. Tonsils
Also prone to swelling and infection. If you still have them when you reach your 30s, it's almost an accomplishment.

5. Coccyx
More useful as a game-winning Scrabble word than as part of the anatomy, the coccyx or tailbone, is made up of several fused vertebrae left over from the olden days when we had tails.

4. Arrector pili
When we were hairier (see No. 9), the arrector pili made the hairs stand on end when we needed to appear bigger and scarier. Now, it just gives us goose bumps.

3. Wisdom teeth
Back in the day, when we ate mammoth meat off the bone and didn't floss afterward, our teeth tended to fall out. Therefore, when those reserve molars, aka "wisdom teeth," came in, they were welcomed. Nowadays, fluoride and dental plans have made them just a huge pain.

2. Appendix
Darwin claimed the appendix was useful for digestion during our early plant-eating years; it's dwindled down to little since we started eating more digestible foods.

1. Male nipples
Because, why?

Mind and body are created together

Is our body actually our own, or does it belong to society? Roe versus Wade, right-to-die cases, such issues show that's a very hard question for us all. We might acknowledge that God created the body, but we don't always acknowledge he also created the mental state. We note that some bodies are created with handicaps and we medically try to correct them, we even invent percieved handicaps and correct them (Botox, anyone?) but we are very confused as to at what point this is "OK" and at what point it is "wrong" (think Michael Jackson). However, we seem accept in general that if one is unhappy with one's body/condition, it can be "fixed" and it doesn't have to stay exactly the same as it was originally created; otherwise we would not try to prolong life with medicine, but would accept the original creation as involately holy and leave it alone. We don't often question, judge or condemn someone's opinion of what their body needs, we accept that is up to them as the inhabitant to make that call. If you say you need Lasix surgery, no biggie. If you say you need an abortion, you might experience some arguments and judgements about that. But if you say you need gender surgery, take cover, here comes armageddon! And oh boy, if you choose to have a baby in the middle of changing your gender, prepare to catch it from the entire planet!

The national media, in their infinite wisdom, picked up on this story for its pure sensationalism.  How very kind and supportive they are, as usual.

There is a growing body of evidence
that circumcision is simply not worth the risks. Among clinical investigators, not just "kidhealth dot com."

If the risks of bleeding or infection are higher with circumcision as an adult, then for heaven's sake, don't do it then, either! Unless, obviously, there is a surgical indication for it.

I repeat: Having a foreskin is not a surgical indication.
My mom donated her body to science - sm
so we had nothing. She did not want us to do anything. We did mail a note to all my parents friends, etc. letting them know she had died, etc. but that was the extent of it. I said "goodbye" to my mom in the hospital morgue. They gave me a very hard time about it and did not want to let me but I insisted, explaining we were not having a funeral, etc. Took them an hour to arrange it once they finally agreed to let me see her. My brother and dad went with me, though I would have rather been alone. My dad already said his goodbyes in the room as did my brother. I drove up 4 hours so I could that night. My other brother did not make it though. His wife I think is the only one that has had a problem with the fact that there was no funeral or memorial service. We all just took things from the house that reminded us of mom and I think that helped. I have my mom's old recliner and I sit in it sometimes and talk to her. Plus when we get together we openly talk about mom and past events, etc., even my dad does despite his re-marriage and I know he is very happy in his marriage. But all in all we have all been fine with it, I think it helps to know my mom hated funerals, was not that religious, and we honored her wishes.
She extends her entire body and scratches every
door jam almost like she is marking everything as her very own.  She is an older cat, so declawing is not an option.  She is not an outside cat, but we have always felt that if we declawed her and she did happen to get outside that she would not be able to defend herself.  She is a very good cat other than that like I said.  She does claw the furniture a tad, but not as bad as the door jams.  I can't even tell where she has clawed the furniture.  She actually just leaves more dander on the furniture than actually clawing, so I guess we are lucky in that regard.  She just really keeps me company, and I try to say "no" and scare her away from the door jams, but we have allowed one that she can scratch, which is in the entry to the area where her litter box is kept in the basement.  We may be confusing her though.  Thanks for all of your help.
Hmmmm, honestly, if my body looked like that.....
I'd probably post pictures of myself all over the internet too! LOL
They make moisurizing body lotions
now that reduce unwanted hair. I used it on my legs, but it made the hair so fine there that it was harder to shave, which I still needed to do when it was time to wear shorts or a dress. But it might work for your arms.

My arm hair was dark when I was in high school. My mom says the same thing happened to her, but now in my 40s, it's almost gone.

Hormone changes, maybe thyroid stuff could be involved, so you might want to talk to your MD.
Melatonin is a substance which is normally produced by your body

It seems unlikely that it would counteract BCP but you might call your pharmacist and ask.

My husband used to use it when he was in the Air Force and getting sent overseas a lot. It helped him overcome the jet lag more quickly. But then, he didn't have to worry about getting pregnant!

The birds in my yard need body guards
I have a few birdfeeders out in front of my office window for something to enjoy while I'm working. The squirrels come and the birds visit. Lately there has been a hawk (for lack of knowledge I'll just call it a hawk, it's some kind of big predator), swooping through and picking off birds right off the feeders, and now it has even tried to fly off with the squirrels.  He sits up in my trees and waits to attack. Now I fully know this is the way of nature and he needs to eat to, but does he have to do it while I'm watching. Is there anything I can do to get rid of him (keep him away, not kill him or anything)?

Every body brings baby gifts. sm
Bring something sensual for the mom. A basket of body lotions, bath lotions, maybe something feminine to wear after the birth. I loved that. I had plenty of diapers, newborn clothes, and baby gadjets already. Something for just ME was really appreciated. My favorite gift for the baby was a musical lion that played "You Are My Sunshine". Baby totally loved that, for a couple of years.

Loooool, yeah, like his body is sooo hot!
I don't know, maybe to some, but he's definitely not my type.  I never understood the attraction.
