Ghosts

I know how you feel, as my husband works nights also! My 7 year old sleeps with me when he is at work, and I just feel better with him there also. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the ghost thing though! If I were you, I would have the house blessed, as they can be bad spirits also.  How long have you lived there? Do you know any history of the house? How old? Who lived there, etc? I guess maybe I watch too much t.v. lol! But seriously, check it out.  If it truly IS a ghost (not the bad ones) of someone who possibly lived there, not out to do any harm, I have heard Sylvia Browne say, "tell them to go to God." She said some of them just get stuck in limbo, between here and there. Good luck to you and keep us posted!

kids and ghosts
Yes, my 7 year old always wants me to lay with him! People (including my family!) talk you-know-what about that, but I don't care.  I figure, you raised your kids the way you want, and I will raise mine, thank you very much! I look at it this way:  they are only little once! There will come a day, when he does not want his "mommy" around all the time.  I know this, because I also have a 14-year-old boy and he is just about to be a Freshman! We went a couple weeks ago to the water park and he forgot he had a family, because his teenage friends were there! Couldn't even get him to stick around to go on 1 slide with us!!!??? But...had his friends not been there, he would have been bugging us to go on slides with him! So there you have it! They grow so fast and I just want to be there for everything I possibly can! I am already upset that the older one will be gone in 4 years to college?! A little ahead of myself, ya think?! I too, am lucky with 2 good boys! Thank the Lord!
Kids and ghosts
My son was two when I divorced. At first we had to sleep together due to our living arrangements. When we got our own place it was his habit to sleep with me. He'd go to sleep in his own room and bed but when I'd wake up in the morning he'd be in my bed. This went on for a few years and then all of a sudden it stopped. He's now 23 and a wonderful adult.

In regards to spirits, I have seen my grandfather (he's been gone 10 years). I was comforted by his presence. I literally felt his touch on my shoulder and I feel I caught sight of him as he faded away.

On the other side of my family, my grandmother died in 1986. My cousin and her husband married shortly thereafter and bought her house from the estate. They had their first daughter a couple of years later. When she was old enough to talk she asked my cousin who the lady was in the rocking chair "clicking." My grandmother had a rocking chair in the corner of the living room that she sat in nightly knitting and watching TV. It must have been her needles she heard clicking. There is absolutely no way my cousin's daughter could have known this.
Kids, animals and ghosts (sm)

When we first moved into our home, our then 2 year-old dog had a habit of chasing us and playfully biting our heels, shifting from heel to heel.  One day he did that when there was no one there, chasing his invisible friend all the way to the wall.  I used to feel the presence of someone here all the time. In the middle of the night, every night, for years, I would suddenly feel something hit the mattress at the foot of the bed, like someone would walk by and just pat the mattress hard or jump on it (though they couldn't have been very heavy). My son when he became able to talk asked me, "who is that white guy who comes in here at night?"  This house was built in 1959, the man who built it died in the yard next door, building his daughter's house.  His wife lived here for many years after that and passed away in the hospital about a year before we moved in.

I never felt there was any malicious spirit here but it still disturbed me some.  One day I walked around he entire house, step by step, carrying a Bible saying, "this house belongs to God in Jesus' name."  I also felt the presence of something in the hall and I told it to leave this house, felt it stayed, and said in a very firm voice, "NOW!"  I never felt anything hit the bed again, haven't felt any more odd presences, and my children have never said anything else nor are they afraid at night. They sleep with me sometimes when my husband is out of town, just because they want to, but not because they are scared.  I spent my whole childhood being afraid of ghosts....glad they don't have to feel that way.
