I believe too

I love your philosophy about kids. What a wonderful mother you must be.

I too am a believer. Always have been since I can't remember when. My SIL told me two days after my father in law died that her son (my 6 year old nephew) was talking to someone at the garage door. When she asked him who he was talking to he said matter of factly "grandpa". They had not told him at this point that his grandfather had died. When she asked him how he knew it was grandpa he looked at her and rolled his eyes and said "duh, mom".

About 4 years ago I went home to visit my mom who was dying of cancer. I was staying with my sis because there was no room for me at my mom's, but she fixed up her couch for me one night and wanted me to spend the night. I was dreading it so bad (you can't imagine what their house was like. Smell of raw sewerage in their kitchen, a bathtub that you felt cleaner before taking a shower than after, etc etc - it was actually her husbands house she moved into with him). Anyway...I was driving my sisters car that night and by myself in the car I was saying out loud "why, why, why do I have to spend the night, why can't I just go over in the morning (not realizing how selfish and uncaring it sounded). When all of a sudden I heard a man's voice that said "Because your mother needs you". This voice was so loud and clear it sounded like someone was sitting in the passenger seat and scared me enough to make me swerve. I have a strong suspicion it was my grandfather. What he said (because your mother needs you) would not be something I would have thought of as I was only thinking of myself and was ashamed at myself afterwards. So if that was grandpa he put me in my place that day (which is exactly what he would have done if he were here in our realm).
