What is a STRAIT concert? And how do you not know how long you've been married? nm

Retta is going STRAIT to

George Strait concert for our 45th wedding anniversary (March 10) on the 29th of March compliments of our sweet daughter!!  Did I mention this on this board? Forgive me if I did. But I am so excited about it.

Gotcha, I thought STRAIT was an acronym or something, LOL. nm

I live on the Carquinez Strait... at the very northeast corner - sm
of San Francisco Bay. The Strait is where the Sacramento River meets up with the northeast bay (San Pablo Bay).

There is a big oil refinery up-river in Martinez, and every day these huge oil tankers (like the one in the photo) go by. My side of the Strait is the deeper side, so the big ships are practically in our front yard! There are also tug-boats (my favorites), pleasure craft of all types, barges, kayaks, and sailboats.

The other night while I was working at about 1:00 AM, I heard sea-lions barking! Couldn't believe it... I was surprised they came this far in from the ocean. Though on occasion, one has gotten lost and been found in the Central Valley near Stockton or Sacramento. And before I lived here, a humpback whale (which people named 'Humphrey') got lost and swam partway to Sacramento.

It's nice living right near the water, because it stays nice all summer, & you don't need air-conditioning. (Yet you don't have to use your heater all summer, like in San Francisco, either!)
Paul in concert
I saw Paul in 2005 too in Philly; I agree it was spectacular! I went with my husband, but called the kids at home from my cell so they could sing along! I have 4 girls ranging in age from 17 to 5 and they know the Beatles songs. That is so cool your daughter loved it. I wished I had brought mine too.
Concert tickets!
Just got my DH and his sister (share the same bday)tickets to a blues festival. They were thrilled.
Love Daughtry - I'm going to see him in concert on 12/11 - NM

I went to HS w/Valerie Bertinelli. I was at the Van Halen concert
He was a stinkin drunk then, but his brother, Alex was way, way worse.  We were probably 19, 20 years old and a group of us girls got together to go to the concert at Hirsch Coliseum and then a few of us got to go backstage, ONLY because of Valerie of course, but it was fun.  David Lee Roth was an off the charts type A kind of guy and he actually hit on Valerie, but she an Ed ended up together.  I wish Ed could have gotten control of his drinking habit, also his chain smoking.  Later in life, he ended up with cancer of the tongue and had a chunk of it removed. After they got divorced, Ed's drinking got worse and there are pics of him looking like a street urchin.  The last I heard, Van Halen was going on tour and Wolfgang (Wolfie), Ed and Valerie's son was replacing Michael Anthony as bass player.  I have to honestly say, I'm worried about their son getting into drinking and drugs.
oops, supposed to be concert tickets nm :)

I remeber during a choir concert while in junior high
our director (she was one of the coolest teachers) forgot to turn on a microphone and when she came on stage to turn it on she said. The kids went wild. It is funny though, it seems like I stopped hearing it for a while (guess when my kids were younger) but now I hear it all the time.
Anybody pop their knuckles? Is it really harmful? I pop my knuckles like a concert pianist... SM

several times a day while at my keyboard.  I've been told it will make my knuckles big and give me arthritis.  I've been doing it for years and my knuckles aren't any bigger.  I do notice my hands seem to get stiffer as I gotten older and require me popping them more often.

I was just wondering if anyone else does this too?  I also pop my neck which is probably not good.  And my right ankle that I use for my pedal gets stiff and it will pop on its own from time to time.  I'm just a walking mess of popping joints, I guess.
