I've sold 125 books on half.com but most were my childrens college text books. I have sold some
t I picked up for a quarter at a thrift store. Old Dr. Seuss books do well. I price them a bit lower than the rest of the pack and put that they are from a nonsmoking home. Half.com does take a small commission but they deposit the check in your bank account monthly.
Paul in concert
I saw Paul in 2005 too in Philly; I agree it was spectacular! I went with my husband, but called the kids at home from my cell so they could sing along! I have 4 girls ranging in age from 17 to 5 and they know the Beatles songs. That is so cool your daughter loved it. I wished I had brought mine too.
Concert tickets!
Just got my DH and his sister (share the same bday)tickets to a blues festival. They were thrilled.
Going to STRAIT concert
For our anniversary, daughter just gave us confirmation, she will "limo" us there and back.  March 29   Our anniversay March 10.....I think it is out 45th, I don't know I was off last year by a year or so....
Love Daughtry - I'm going to see him in concert on 12/11 - NM

I went to HS w/Valerie Bertinelli. I was at the Van Halen concert
He was a stinkin drunk then, but his brother, Alex was way, way worse.  We were probably 19, 20 years old and a group of us girls got together to go to the concert at Hirsch Coliseum and then a few of us got to go backstage, ONLY because of Valerie of course, but it was fun.  David Lee Roth was an off the charts type A kind of guy and he actually hit on Valerie, but she an Ed ended up together.  I wish Ed could have gotten control of his drinking habit, also his chain smoking.  Later in life, he ended up with cancer of the tongue and had a chunk of it removed. After they got divorced, Ed's drinking got worse and there are pics of him looking like a street urchin.  The last I heard, Van Halen was going on tour and Wolfgang (Wolfie), Ed and Valerie's son was replacing Michael Anthony as bass player.  I have to honestly say, I'm worried about their son getting into drinking and drugs.
oops, supposed to be concert tickets nm :)

Our little burg here in lower NY state does this, too, and the final concert is usually

I remeber during a choir concert while in junior high
our director (she was one of the coolest teachers) forgot to turn on a microphone and when she came on stage to turn it on she said. The kids went wild. It is funny though, it seems like I stopped hearing it for a while (guess when my kids were younger) but now I hear it all the time.
What is a STRAIT concert? And how do you not know how long you've been married? nm

from Miami, Fl
What part of Fla are you in?
from Miami, Fl
I am in the Aventura area, off of Ives Dairy Road
Yep in Miami too
Windows open and in my flannel jammies they just said 40s by morning.
Yep, tell me about it. I was in Miami in the 1980's, although

I am in Miami and it's much more than Cubans now

from every country, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Honduras, Venezuela, Mexico, Israel, Iraq, and other areas of the Middle East, Asians, and the Cubans, and other groups, TNTC (too numerous to count).  70-80% of the house staff at the U of M and Jackson are foreign MDs.

It's not just a Cuban thing here any longer.  There are so many *tongues* spoken here - it's like the United Nations....no, really, a real melting pot, a lot like NYC....and if you only speak one language, you will run into problems.....AND it's not just Miami, the multiethnicities have moved all the way up north of Orlando...central and south florida.

I still love it

Yes, it is hot in Miami and sadly quite

and for some reason, they did away with them - I liked when they were in 7 languages......and you're right - it was Creole at Jackson......
I can't watch CSI Miami because of The Soup
plus the men are sexier on Vegas!!!
was thinking of moving to central FLA from Miami

still praying for all those folks who got hit in the 40-mile range that this tornado went through......

they are not allowed in miami-dade county

Pit bulls are either not allowed in Miami-Dade County in Florida but I heard something about having $600,000 insurance if you own one.....but that COULD be Broward County where they are allowed.  I'm in Miami.

How about the beaches at Miami or even Daytona Beach
Talk about crime. It happens EVERYWHERE or do you not know that?
We just sold ours.
I always tent camped when younger...just loved it. When I married, hubby would not tent camp and the kids loved camping so we got a pop-up tent camper. We enjoyed it once it was up, but it was a lot of work, nearly as much as tent camping because since it folds down you cannot store much in there all the time, so there's packing involved. There is also work involved when you get home with it, opening to clean and air out and dry before folding it up again. If it's not completely dry before folding down it will mildew.

If I had a chance to do it again, I'd get a pull-behind or 5th wheel, because you can keep your camping items right in there all the time. Just toss in some food and go.

Just my opinion!

I can understand it but it may be sold as that - sm
but may be more in line with an in-law suite. My DH and I rarely sleep together, he is either in the spare room on the couch. He snores something awful and of course won't go to a doctor (not apnea, he is underweight); he also cannot sleep without either the TV or a radio on ALL night; also has insomnia, so in order for me to sleep and not want to kill him we do not sleep together. We still get together but just don't spend the night together. Just about every elderly/older couple I know do not sleep together due to one of them snoring basically, they have the spare rooms in the house now that the kids are gone and they are using them to stay well rested.
Yeah but sold out everywhere (nm)

not sold - stolen
please do not post here
Whatever it is, it's because the US has repeatedly sold
My sister just returned from Hawaii. She's been to Hilo many times, but this time said she couldn't believe it - it was practically dead. Because of gas costs, many airlines, bus tours, etc. have eliminated that part of the big island. She said tourism in the state overall appears to be in a huge slump. And now our ****** Prez. says he wants to open oil drilling in Alaskan wilderness, and the US's coastal towns. Considering what future oil spills will do to future tourism in coastal towns, not to mention that we have to wean ourselves off that addiction, and that sure is short-sighted. But then again, that's the problem with the U.S. They don't see the big picture, just whatever will make the most money in the shortest amount of time, and screw the future.
Sold the property, finally
Well, I guess the man was wrong for wanting me to accept the $110,000. I have sold the property today for $140,000. That is a chunk more than I can now think of ways to spend- just kidding, planning on putting new flooring in, paying off most of the home where I live and paying my bills off. Hooray!!
I have sold some property, not closed on but
get this- the new "owners" have gone in (I was told they wanted to spring clean and thus the realtor gave them keys to the place to do so) and stripped the carpets that were there and also dismantled and took down part of a cabinet. The closing was to take place the first of July. I called the realtor and asked when did spring cleaning turn into renovation. One person had asked about a possible early move-in as their lease ran out today. I told realtor no moving in, nothing else done until closing. No answer from him- no emails answered, nothing. I sent him 1 yesterday saying - oh, never mind, I will check on my property myself either Thursday or Friday morning, hope I don’t find squatters there- guess what folks, now he calls late yesterday evening wanting to know can we close today. Oh, the power of persuasion. Some people really have the nerve!
Hubby and I sold our townhouse and
bought a house with a yard for our first dog. Soon we replaced the Explorer with a minivan because it was a lower jump AND so the dogs could have AC blowers in the back. So yeah, I'm with you. But I have an hourly job now, not MT work, and DH makes decent money. Still, we're in debt, like most people. At least we bought a modest house, much less expensive than what the bank thought we COULD afford, but we know better.
Update: Just sold for $299 on Ebay
if you can get your hands on one they are selling like hotcakes!!
Another thing about the house I sold,
I had moved, rented it out and like I said above, got an interest only loan on it, had borrowed some money and that loan looked really good until the payment started creeping up and up and up and I was sweating it trying to unload (after I decided not to rent anymore) that I probably would have taken less. I am really, really glad I sold when I did. I could have had new house, old house note with the old house steadily climbing and been in as bad shape as some I read about in foreclosure.
Those hook thingies are sold on
either QVC or HSN shopping channel, see them frequently.
Fluff is still sold in PA. In my area,

we have a mixture of foods since our area is diverse ethnicities. We have all kinds of PA Dutch, Lithiuainin (sp), Italian, Irish Polish, Mexican (yes thanks to a town a little north of here that is 30% Mexican now), so there is not one particular food.

My favorites are scrapple w/vinegar and eggs,  funnel cake, Kluskie, halupkies, perogies, HOT BOLOGNA (yeah! good and spicy). Hot bologna is probably local to our area alone. How about ring bologna, which is used to make the hot bologna.

I sold Avon for 20+ years

I sold Avon for 20+ years & I loved it when I first started, I had a great number of customers which you do need and periodically would add a few more.. BUT, when I first started you could make some money at it, even living in a small rural area like I live in.. but things are so costly, the books, bags, samples, etc.. gas lately wouldn't be worth it, selling in businesses is great IF you can catch everyone there at the same time, but when I first started if you sold $1000 half was yours.. since then they have raised it (not sure what it is now), but the last I remember it was closer to $1500 before you earned 1/2.. so things keep changing, I quit after I started typing, no time & I would much rather be home..

I made money doing Avon for years, but if you were the only one in your area doing it you might do okay, but I do still order, because I have used their products for so many years, I just can't find nothing I really like better in the stores.. plus they do have great sales on things, I'll not go back to it as of now, but don't want to say never cause that is usually a for sure that you'll eat those words..

Animals being sold in hardware stores. SM

While driving through Miami, FL, I noticed several hardware stores with large signs stating they sold both hardware and animals.   My DH knows who handles the accounts of those stores (he sells hardware wholesale) and they said, yes, the stores carry animals for santeria rituals such as chickens, roosters and rabbits.

I'm all for freedom of religion, but draw the line at using live creatures.  I'm not a big animals right advocate, although I love animals, but I feel like notifying PETA about this. Or somebody about this.

Any suggestions?

I have bought and sold on Craigslist, it's great.

It is sold, like I stated, to recoup not only my money
but also to pay what the court costs are. I had cash that day and only put $40.00 on my credit card. Doesn’t matter because I have my receipt and have the backing of the court. I tell you, I am not the only person this store has tried to skim-scam because another person in court with same 1. They have 4 big stores and guess what? I am not heading out to "do my shopping" and that is I am going with my sunglasses to choose which pieces I want to take this Tuesday (if no money forthcoming). It has been over a year so I do not think they would remember my 1 time in their store. This place now owes me over $700.00!! After this I plan on calling better business bureau and logging complaint against them also.
Just recently sold a ticket on Stubhub
I am seasoned ticket holder for the Fox Theater in Atlanta's Theater Under the Stars and one of the shows was Stomp. I sure did not want to see that so I sold a 2nd row seat from the stage that sold for $46.00 for $25.00. Not trying to make a profit, just did not want to use it.
My 14-yo daughter sold her first original design
for a snowboard decal this weekend. She is quite the little artist and a friend of her brother's came up to look through her portfolio.

Not only did he buy the design he wants to use for his snowboard, he told her he would like to put her in touch with a friend of his, a tattoo artist, who may be interested in some of her other work too.

This could be her toe in the door. She would love to do design and sell her own graphic T-shirts.
DE is sold in swimming pool stores to use in DE filters. It's not

It is sold in pill form for weight loss,

so I would take it that way.

bought/sold couple hundred items
i've had a good experience both ways. it is time consuming, communicating with customer/feedback/packaging items/mailing, etc. Like you, i thought of doing same. but you really have to have something special/in demand to market, or maybe do the drop-ship method where you don't even keep the inventory yourself to make a real business venture. I don't think it's any more of a golden goose than other business ventures however.
Southern here, cracklins sold in lower income stores usually
I have been at roadside stands and never smelled them cooking nor saw them but mostly you see in stores like food depot. I know of no one who uses them. I am sure that various parts of the country have other foods that could turn a person's stomach. I remember a supposed pepperoni pizza I had 1 time in Buffalo and the tomatoes on it were whole like uncooked. Yuck for that. Everyone has a yuck I am sure.
On 60 minutes I think it was
they did a story on diamonds once and had some identifying mark or word etched on a diamond they were using. You could only see it with a microscope I think, or maybe a jeweler's loop, but interestingly the jewelers who were switching the diamonds out were not aware of the mark until it was shown to them.
