Two things that help a lot are regular exercise and getting lots of fiber (whole grains, fruits, veggies, etc.) - helps with the diarrhea part too, believe it or not. I later discovered I was also lactose intolerant. Apparently, that's very common with IBS. Try to pay attention to what you're eating just before times when the symptoms are bad, so you can figure out what foods make it worse. Stress definitely is a trigger, but I'll bet you will find there are foods you are sensitive to. I've found weird things like raisins can set me off. But dairy definitely is worst. If exercising and watching what you eat don't make a difference, I'd see a doctor. Some of my friends are on pills that help. Hope you find relief soon!
