If you are so against the idea of paddling for your daughter as punishment and you have bad feelings about it, enough to keep you up at night, why are you going to let them do it? YOU are the parent, not the school, not your daughter. Why are you letting her pick her punishment? Let her stay out of school. That is a far worse punishment anyway. It will last longer than a paddle, she will have far more work to do because of her behavior and she wont have her friends around for a few days. Also, it is not going to humiliate her in front of the principal and teacher. That is degrading! I am not saying that if a parent were to spank their child that it would be degrading because I believe in spanking my children if they need it, but to have some other adults that they dont really know on that level? that would be so degrading and uncomfortable. she isnt a toddler for crying out loud. You should make what choice YOU think is right that YOU can live with and tell your daughter this is what it is going to be and thats it!
