I agree with him. Even though I do agree that they had been forgiven for their past mistake, to be together again would still be adultery because they both left their respective spouses. The woman in this story had a biblical reason for leaving her husband as he had already been unfaithful to her. She could go on to have another relationship because her husband had already broken the marriage vows. However, the man in this story, even though through no fault of his own, had no biblical reason for leaving his wife, unless she was not a Christian. Then, "do not be unequally yoked" would apply. Still, being unequally yoked or married to a nonbeliever and then separating does not qualify him biblically for another relationship, either with this woman or anyone else. I personally feel that to rekindle their relationship would be basically throwing away the forgiveness they had prayed to receive in the first place.
