I can only imagine what would happen

Posted By: trose on 2007-04-25
In Reply to: Owning a pet is a privilege, not a right. If you can't afford health - care for a pet, you shouldn't have one. nm

to all the animals that would not be adopted because the owners could not afford health insurance. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, all adopted from shelters. We don't have insurance on them but isn't them living in a loving home a better alternqative then what might have happened to them?

Imagine that day at your local mall. Then just imagine. LOL Why that day are you going? Crazy.
x
LOL! Imagine that!
nm
I can only imagine what you are going..sm
through. I am so sorry to hear that. Lots of hugs from this way too.
I have a 19-year-old son... and I can imagine
never a big fan of hers or anything... but feeling very sad about this
Whoa! Can you imagine??
The owners could have gotten reimbursed by insurance and put in less expensive pipes than copper, but NOOOOO, they wanted to be like that. What losers.
I can't imagine anyone wanting
to be contacted by you.
Imagine the introductions.......and this is Mai Ho.....

Donor I would imagine...

OMG!!!! How terrible! I can not imagine...sm
how upset you must be. I wonder what on earth happened to him? That would drive me nuts! Only 2 years old! I am so sorry!!
I have a 14 imagine that. I don't like tests either. nm
mn
Can you imagine how weird it must be for -(sm)
medical personnel to have someone of that level of fame come in to the ER (or the autopsy lab?) It would just be so strange to be putting in an IV or firing up the defibrillator and thinking to oneself, 'OMG - this is ____!' (MJ, FF, Princess Di, Elvis Presley, etc.)
Adults need one, too. Imagine how difficult it is
for parents who feel the guilt/burden of knowing they cannot provide a Christmas for their babies. I've been there. I know how it feels.

One of my resolutions for 2007 is to pay a set percentage of my gross income to a dedicated cause locally. I'm not sure yet whether I will work with the light/water company to provide assistance for those on shut-off notices (they seem to have less options than anyone else) or help provide transportation to/from doctor visits for elderly/handicapped individuals, but I am going to do something.

Imagine the music in Heaven now!

I really can't imagine how deep this sorrow must be. (sm)
I've only lost pets, and it rips my heart out to lose one of those special ones. The loss of a child would be absolutely unbearable. Time can only round off the edges of the pain a little, but never take it away. Not until you see him again in heaven. At least we have that hope.
That's funny - Can you imagine some drunk guy sm
trying to walk in those .  Sounds like one of us will be getting a report soon of a guy in the ER who busted his ankle while walking "Topless."
Glad you are okay, and I can imagine that was a bit upsetting. . SM
It definitely sounds like she should not be unescorted.
I can't imagine my husband having no friends....sm
or hobbies. My husband is opposite. He has many friends and loves hunting. He has always been one to have his own time. I have come to enjoy it too. Don't get me wrong we spend time together but we don't stay stuck up each other's a$$ 24/7. I would be irked if he was like that. Some husbands prefer to spend every waking moment with each other. Some people prefer it that way. I don't. I have a life besides my husband. Not saying that in a mean way. I love my husband to death, but my world does not revolve around him. If he is home he is content to watch TV if I want to talk on the phone or whatever. One of my friends does not talk on the phone when her husband is home. They devote their time to only one another. That is sweet but it just ain't me. Some husbands are the attached at the hip kind and never want to do anything without their wife. Some husbands have a life and hobbies. Everyone is differnt and there is nothing wrong with either way but I prefer not to be attached at the hip.
I imagine the jelly makes the PB go down! :)
It's funny to watch dogs with peanut butter - they love it, but it takes work just to swallow a little glob of it. You can hear them smacking their lips for hours.
Hardly the case, Princess. I don't need to imagine that men are checking me out.
Someone's starved for attention. Maybe it's you since I've obviously hit a nerve? :)
i can not imagine a therpist rolling their eyes
that just sounds so unprofessional to me. I would recommend checking out other therapists. It took a little time to find the right one for me, but it was worth the work becuase I feel she has definitely helped me. Good luck to you.
Well girls, I am a Phillies fan, imagine how I feel! ...

Go anybody!

Close your eyes and imagine my situation...sm

It is 49 degrees, drizzly rain (had 1 cold, dry day out of 6), and we are expecting another week of rain.  Mountains are expecting 6-12 inches of SNOW.  Radio weather guy called this month Junuary.    Now if only there was a way to mix your weather with mine we would have...tornadoes.  Never mind.  BTW:  I used to live in PA so you have my sympathy.

I can't imagine affording all those meals out, but I have some suggestions sm
I usually cook from scratch. My idea of "fast food" is a can of lentil soup, and I have that about once a month, occasionally twice. I make crockpot soups a lot because I am busy.

I will tell you, there is a place that is sort of between a restaurant meal and home cooking. I used to have kids at home, lots of them, and I would get too tired to cook. My answer was to hybrid the dinner, so to speak.

You can get Stouffer's lasagne which is good. You can pickup some ready-made stuff in your grocery store deli or freezer case. We liked the frozen Banquet chicken back in the day. I might get that, a box of flavored instant potatoes, potato salad or ready-made mashed to go with it. We might get a bag of salad too. Fresh fruit cups were nice if they were on special. You know, make a nice meal you don't have to 100% cook, but isn't going out.

These days, I see that you can get beef tips in gravy, or sliced beef in gravy and other prepared stuff at the store. It just takes looking. It is more expensive than doing it all yourself, but it is much cheaper than going out.

You can try another thing that is NOT everyone's cup of tea, and that is OAMC or Once A Month Cooking. This is my favorite website:
http://snider.mardox.com/plans.htm

I don't have the energy to do this one a month, but the above site doesn't advocate for that. They advocate for "mini plans" using what is on special in a given week. They have breakfast plans, muffin plans, potato plans, chicken, beef, pork plans, ground meat plans, even some dessert plans. With planning, you can do this in bits and pieces. From people who have done far more of this than I have, they tell me that with soup already made, no chopping or messing, they are more likely to make fresh rolls, salad and even a quick dessert...round out any meal because the work is done. Obviously, it saves money.
I see them using them in the clothing stores. Work great! I imagine you'd

Not originally from the south, so imagine my surprise when I saw them selling - sm
Cracklin at a roadside stand!  It was cooking in a huge pot of grease.  I thought I might faint from the smell - beyond description.  Then I noticed it being sold packaged in grocery stores with all kinds of flavorings added.  I cannot recall seeing cracklin sold in the other parts of the country I have lived, but maybe I just never noticed.  All I know is I cannot even stand to look at the bags while waiting to check out at the register.  YUCK!!
Wow - raised in small Southern Baptist Church - can't imagine this. (sm)

As new preachers have come and gone over the years, I can't ever remember one even repainting a room in the parsonage without checking with someone much less getting rid of anything.

This sounds very, very strange and I agree with you that there is something wrong here.  Do you not have any kind of an advisory board or anything within the church?  Perhaps you should form one and seek out another preacher.  Some of these old churches are so lovely.  I can't imagine anyone tearing down our old church.  It was old when I was married in it almost 40 years ago.

Good luck to you and any other members,  past, present or future,  of this church.

Imagine that men are checking me out? Hardley the case! Starved for attention? Nope just asking a qu
other people's intelligent comments, I was not looking for ignorant assumptions! Starved for attention? Not exactly. Is that a problem that you yourself are facing?

Had you have read all of my posts (OP) you would see that I was only looking for comments from others to see if this was odd behavior or not...and I thanked everyone for their comments regardless of their answers! I was not looking to start a fight here! Please do not be nasty! It is not necessary! We are all adults here!
My 50 y/o bud was THE most matronly MOB you can imagine in a long brocade gown & bolero jacket.

My son had this happen to him, as well--sm
and he did report it to the bank. however, he only got half of his money back (I don't know why) even though the woman who stole his cc# was caught. I had the same bank as he did and apparently they told him they would only reimburse half of the charges. To this day, he will not buy items on line.
me too but I don't think that's going to happen...sm

GOP-democratic ongoing battle will make it political, but if WE can resist all that.....it would be good.

Just as an aside, us older MTs...are really going to be the largest senior group ever.......in the USA - something like 70+ million - and we, politically, are a HUGE voice (in numbers)....so I still believe WE CAN change the world.......that we CAN make the difference.

just as I believed 40 years ago too.......

perhaps I'm deluded.....*winks*

sure hope not......

p.s.  please don't burst my bubble....

Did this happen already?
I'm watching CNN and they haven't mentioned it. They just have a message up saying that Judge to decide if Paris Hilton goes back to jail. She isn't even at the courthouse yet. The Sheriff are picking her up at her house. I definitely think she needs to go back to jail no question about it.
Happen to be in
or is this something happening all over Indiana, thanks to our MITCH????
He does not ALLOW it to happen...
We are humans, with minds of our own, allowed to make choices. We're not puppets on a string being guided around. Come on now, you can't be that unschooled in the Bible. It's unfortunate that bad things and abuse and so forth happens in this world, but it does...and it's because there are so many nonbelievers and so much evil...God wants us to come to Him. He's not going to force Himself on anyone.
Having same happen to me
Gosh I love these fuzzies but shocked every time I pet them, etc. but that is just the tip of the iceberg- getting shocked from clothing, coats, blankets, etc. etc. Does anyone have a good idea how to stop some of this- and no, I will not get rid of the fuzzies.
You could have this happen to you sm

where you disconnected from someone because of something petty (shower) and then when you really had time to look back on it and put it into perspective, along with putting yourself in her situation, you realize that you miss your friend and try to reconnect.

When you do, you find out she actually died a year before.  Think about that before you make a decision to end the friendship.  I wish I had.

I can see how it could happen
Years ago, I went for an upper GI. The tech came in right before the test to ask if I had done the bowel prep. They were preparing to do a barium enema instead of an upper GI. It was a good thing I was in the medical field and knew exactly what test I was having and why.
I agree that it must happen a lot..sm

A few years back I had an ink cartridge that I wanted to return because I had grabbed the wrong one.  The Walmart wouldn't take it back.  For that store anyways, it was their policy not to accept ink cartridges in return for that very reason.  They told me that I wouldn't even believe how many they get back and are actually empty.  I was told that I needed to send it back to the company for whatever brand it was.

I believed what they said because at that time my husband was a manager there.

When they do inventory it takes them like a month to do it, and you wouldn't believe sometimes how much money and merchandise is unaccounted for, not just easily concealable things either.   No way to know how much of it was really stolen, but I would bet a good portion of it.

I'm sure they'll take back your cartridge.  If you can't find your receipt, they will probably just give you a gift card figuring that if by chance you didn't get that cartridge there, at least they know you have to spend that gift card at a Walmart.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll tell you exactly what will happen.
If you don't buy it, everything will break. If you buy it, everything will break right after it runs out. lol. I bought a blazer a couple years ago, bought an extended warrantly and literally a month after it ran out my fuel pump burned up, some motor for my blinker burned out, had to get a new alternator, new battery, new tires (due to neighborhood felon in the making), driver side viser broke...I think there was more but I can't remember at the moment.

Anyhoo, good luck! :-)
i expected this probably would happen, but not yet.
I feel for her baby growing up without her mom and for her mother, who i'm sure always had hope that "vicki lynn" would come out of this downward spiral before it was too late. It's tragic all the way around. I would love to know if mr. lawyer is really innocent of all this too.
did these happen at once or different times? nm

Gee. I knew that would happen! LOL!

Know things happen but.....
I can relate to what you say; however when my own father asked me to move in with him (close to age 90) I refused to do that. I visited, had seen him growing up (parents divorced) but I would never ruin my life moving in with him as life would have been hel* for me, overbearing, rude, constantly belittled me in front of others (weight issue he had with me) and generally not the kind of person I would care to live with. However, this is what I did and he could take or leave it. He lived close by in another state and I told him I would get any assistance he could use be it Meals on Wheels, rides to and from appointments, just anything. It was up to him if he wanted or not. I did not care norr do I care now what anyone would think about this situation. My maternal aunt (who knew my father very, very well) said he had lived his life, now I should live mine. I am not throwing away my happiness to satisfy someone else. Now, if he had been a kind, understanding, loving father he could have possibly (and that is not a sure thing) moved in with ME but definitely not giving up my home, etc. to have lived with him.
What's the worst that can happen; you buy a new one?
I have heard people clean them by running them under the shower and letting them dry in the warm outside air. I'm going to try it, I have a backup cheapie to use if it gets ruined and I have to buy a new one.
Would you happen to be a male
Because any female knows how hard it is to go to school while having your period, especially having your FIRST period. And the thought of her using a tampon at that age I am sure freaks the poor child out. My DD is 17 and she still doesn't use tampons. I never used them until I had my 3rd child, over the age of 30. Only a male (I hope) would make such an uneducated response...more power to ya Mom, stick up for your DD 100%... the teacher was absolutely wrong in the way this situation was handled and should be confronted about it...good luck!
Yes, my mother had this happen. sm
I think she was in her 40s, can't remember exactly. She said it was the worst headache and vomiting ever. Her's also was a small bleed, such a small aneurysm that when it burst that was the end of the aneurysm. She recovered fully and if I remember right she was only in the hospital for a week or so.
A lot of assuming going on here. Did it happen or
x
It's not uncommon for this to happen, (sm)
and it suggests you are headed for reading glasses. The first indication will be that your focus change slows down because the lens is getting stiffer with age. This slowing started to happen to me about 2 years ago, and I started taking the eye supplement, lutein. It is described as a supplement for eye health, and I decided to take it because it's supposed to help avoid macular degeneration. But would you believe that slowing of my focus problem WENT AWAY completely? I am still not in reading glasses and have no trouble with my focus as long as I take lutein. This would be the time for you to start it to keep you out of bifocals for as long as possible.
I'm curious - how did that happen? - sm
I recently got pet health insurance for my cats, and notice that one of the things NOT covered is ACL injuries. Never heard of it in a cat before, but sometimes in dogs. Did she jump from something high? Is it in a back or a front leg?
You know what will happen if we all quit
There will have to be money coming from somewhere to replace the tax revenue lost if all of us wicked smokers just up and quit (or died, whichever!). They already decided we could do without the transfats and took those away from our McFrys; Salmonella risk caused many places to get rid of genuine cesar salads because of the raw eggs; and some places have banned pate. They may start slowly hitting the US consumer with a Twinkie tax- $1/pack, $10/carton. Those McFrys, even without the transfat we knew and loved) will have a $0.10 surcharge each (eek, I can't afford to supersize anymore), and I'm afraid that it will take a mortgage if I want to get that Chantilly Lace cake from the bakery.

Fat people and smokers- the last two groups that it's okay to make fun of in this country, and dang if I ain't both!
You wouldn't happen to be a bio-mom would you???
That sure would explain a lot of your behavior and comments.

The OP is doing nothing wrong by wanting a FAMILY and not a part-time husband. Leave her alone.
I've had this happen before and it is usually
when there is fluid behind my eardrum.  Usually no cold associated with it.  It sounds like a bee buzzing in my ear.
