anybody have any good dip recipes
I bought a couple bags of those cornchips called scoops.  Last night I made guacamole but now I've got 1 and 1/2 bags of chips left.  Anyone have any good ideas of things I could use them for?
Anyone got good low-cal doggie recipes?

I'm looking for both snack and meal recipes for an older dog that's kind of sedentary but LOVES to eat.  I'm convinced the food at the grocery store is either highly caloric or filled with a bunch of junk.

Thanks for your suggestions!

any good crockpot recipes for family reunion? sm
we will be camping all weekend so i'd rather put something together in a crockpot and let it cook while i am having fun.  any good recipe ideas for family reunion?  main course to side dishes to desserts.
Anybody have any good pork loin roast recipes?
I am never able to cook pork roasts without it being tough.
Craving beef and bean burritos tonight. Any good recipes?
TIA!
It does sound good, but (sm)
DH refuses to live in a community where they can tell him to mow his grass.  Now mind you, our community is pretty secluded, and most of the people here do keep it up, but he is of the old school where if it is your house and the grass gets a little too high, it's your own business.  We don't like it trashy either.
it does sound good I will have to try it nm

That does sound good. I might try it...
This started out to be clam chowder when I first made it, but then I had some sausage in the fridge that was about to go bad and thought that clams would not taste so good with the sausage, so every time I make it, it is a little different. I like to experiment, so thanks for the idea!
Biscuits sound good.
The breakfast cassarole has hashbrowns, bacon/sausage, eggs, and cheese. They really aren't pastry/muffin people. That's what I did last year with the fruit salad that didn't get eaten. I ended up in the kitchen making eggs instead. Talk about pain in the rear.

Biscuits would be easy and cheap. I have some strawberries in the freezer and could make a nice jam/preserve from that. Thanks!
You sound like you had a good marriage
That was a sweet statement to make about wishing you had that option. I am so in love with my husband and would hate to think about being without him. I enjoy his company every day. He travels but calls when he is gone. When he is home we share a computer room and he plays around on his computer while I work at mine. He is my best friend as well as my heart. I married him very late in my life after others but intend to keep this one.
Sound like you actually have a good partner. Above posts, not so much.

What is the best deal on cells and good sound also. nm
:
You sound really young, good taste never
goes out of style.
these boys sound like good husbands. .
Ladies. . sounds like you have raised some relly nice young men - - really good husband material . . . the girls are going to gobble them up. . . and be pretty happy . . I applaud you. . .any guy that respects and treats his mom well . . and enjoys being with her and doing things with her. . . has to be a pretty good guy. . .
Does life in prison sound good to you? I would
xx
You make it sound like it's a good thing --

Are you just being sarcastic?  I hope so.  I love kids, but seriously, this country can't afford to have women having more children than they can afford.  Look at the mess we're in now with welfare, not to mention the abuse and neglect these children suffer.  I live in a very rural, low income area.  I have seen so many children whose parents don't care for them, yet they continue to "pop out" more babies to get more welfare benefits.

If this becomes a new trend, the govt will end up removing the welfare caps in order to support these children.  I know it's not the children's fault, but it isn't my fault either.  I'm tired of paying for the welfare system as it is.

Keep your good ideas to yourself - sm
She obviously admires your taste or she would not copy you to the letter. Just keep it a secret if you can from her what you are bringing to events. Either that or point blank ask her and tell her what you are brining and what does she want to bring? :-)
So many good ideas...sm
You guys gave me even more to think about. Some wonderful tips. At least now I have opinions from someone who has the different kinds of flooring. I'm going to print all the ideas and brainstorm. Thanks a bunch!
good ideas!
and less cleanup which is always a pain without a dishwasher. lol

I wonder if there is a scouting cookbook...there probably is.

I think I will look up under scouts too and i bet that will give some good camping ideas for kids activities too. Thanks!
These are good ideas, but how about
with a piece of turkey, some vegetables for eyes, etc.  Maybe they'd think it was silly eating the T-giving day face!  Maybe some will say "do not play with your food" but it is a holiday!
TY TY TY - you came me some more good ideas
Reading your post you have given me some additional ideas of how I might possibly get out of the rut. Will definitely check out the Dr. Dyer site too.

Thanks again.
You're worried about the mother? Doesn't sound like she did a very good job herself! nm

For Amy, Pinkie is right, some good ideas, keep us posted.

Good ideas below, also bento sites (sm)
For variety, if he's at all food adventurous, try bento type meals (Japanese).
Lunch In a Box has a great article on food safety for bentos. Some things you may not have to refrigerate if packed safely. Also Fit & Fresh is a good brand of boxes with custom-fit ice packs to keep stuff cold for 6 hours. Combine that with a thermos with warm food and you've got a good winter meal.

If you find yourself fascinated by bento as I was, Just Bento is another good site for info on it.
Good ideas - I was thinking about the books
too.

Running where's your Avatar?? I love that Avatar!!
How about good ideas for upcoming marriage

Any good ideas for someone getting married in the next year or so?  A second marriage and not planning to have much of a ceremony.  (Where, what to wear, etc.)

Thanks for any ideas.

Good ideas, positive thinking sm
We need more kindness around here. I try to stop and let someone through a line of traffic when everyone else ignores them. Most times I get a wave and a thank you, sometimes just a dirty look, but hey, I tried! Don't have to spend money or do anything spectacular, sometimes just a smile or a "go ahead" in line at the supermarket when they only have a few things and you have a carriage full helps someone out a little. What the heck, does make you feel better as well. Karma. Are you the type who gives people a break (or do you give them the finger)????
got any good vanity plate ideas?

I have two cars (one antique, one practical).  Every year I get personalized license plates for them.  I'm just wondering if anyone has any good ideas or seen any in their state that were funny and/or good.  Ones I've had in the past include GR8NAKD, PO FOLK, 22TWAIN, IAMSOL8, HAPPIER, IXLR84U, DENT ME, just to name a few.  I get two every year, this year's ideas include HASBEEN, USED2BE, NOTHING and 4MER 10.  (I guess my frame of mind changes yearly).  So, if you have any good ideas, they sure would be appreciated.

Side note, once when I was in San Diego I saw a great big boat being towed down the freeway --- best named boat I ever did see --- It's name was "Dyspareunia."  Still makes me laugh to this day.  Thanks friends....X

thanks, ERMT. i appreciate your good ideas. we are going to do a craft for the parents sm

i want to have a couple of games lined out just in case we have time left over.  we are going to have an ice cream party!  we had that last year and the kids really liked it.  i know it's a little cool out, but what kid wouldn't like ice cream.

thanks again for your ideas!

Not the OP but good ideas, have you tried DiMillo's Floating Restaurant?
Deep fried lobster tails with that sweet dipping sauce and the lazy lobster where they clean and cut it all up for you and serve it floating in butter?!?!?! And my husband loved the lobster rolls they had everywhere. Gotta get back there :)
Thank you, good ideas, but after29 years, I guess I am searching for something new..sm
Can the masseuse be a guy???
:-) I'm insecure!
Even higher bill w/3 cells & a land line, but sound quality & customer service are good.

recipes

We are going to a family reunion this weekend and I'm looking for some new ideas for something to take.  Not anything too complicated since I work full time at home with 4 kids plus mother-in-law and 2 extra family members will be here tonight from Arizona and staying with us.  Can be anything - dessert, side, main etc.  Just having a hard time coming up with anything really yummy to feed a big group.  Have lots of chicken in the freezer so maybe something down that line. Thanks!!

Why would you want recipes when
you find disgusting? That is very strange.
Looking for recipes
Okay - i'm looking for really yummy dinner recipes that are very cost-effective.  During the week it's mainly me and my 7-year-old and I'm sick of spaghettios, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets.  Hubby is home on weekends but I get tired of making the same things every weekend, not to mention the cost of groceries sometimes makes it difficult to have the "standard" meat, potatoes, veggie, bread dinner!  TIA
Looking for recipes for...

microwave candies or relatively foolproof stove-top or oven methods, preferrably ones that have been tested.   I typically bake and decorate iced cake-mix cookies and make up gift boxes for neighbors, friends, the mailman, etc.,  but candies would be a nice addition...fudge, divinity, pralines, nut brittles, killer brownies or anything else you may have in your repertoire would be appreciated.

Found some recipes for you :)

many many rotel recipes
go to the below link and enjoy. Ro-tel is a wonderful addition to almost any recipe.

http://www.texmex.net/Rotel/main.htm

Also for an added idea take a brick of softened cream cheese and pour some mexican Ro-tel on and serve with chips. Also add some cooked ground sausage to the Velveeta with Ro-tel.

Rotal adn Velveeta are staples in my home and I live in WA and I can buy it at any major grocery store.

HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY!!!!
Northpole recipes

I just received an email with some Northpole recipes.  I thought I would share.

I was given this link:

have fun!

Lots of recipes at
foodtv.com  Everything you ever wanted.
cooking/recipes
Is there a cooking or recipes board available - just curious.
Tripe recipes
If you're really interested in tripe recipes there are some in Maya Angelou's cookbook. I haven't tried any of them so I have no idea how good they are.
bread recipes
Would the kind lady who posted her bread recipes please reply to me, even if it is my private e-mail address,  with the recipes that she had for 4 loaves of bread.  My hard drive crashed and even though I copied the recipe  to my word expander, I was not able to print it out.
So, where's those cookie recipes?
Go ahead flood the board with cookie recipes. I can handle it.. I can bake every one of them, while I am listening to one dictator flip pages, and the other pausing..c'mon give me whatcha got.  But seriously, I need some new ideas for the kids because pop n fresh dough holiday cookie cut outs.  PS: See, I am finally getting in the holiday spirit.
No recipes here, just wanted to say...
Glad you're gettin' in the spirit and feeling better!
Leftover ham recipes?
I had a big spiral ham Christmas Eve buffet but too much other food and a large portion, over half, not touched. I never leave my food out long, asked everyone if they were sure they didn't want more, put it in the fridge with intent to send some home with them but they had so many cookies, etc., to take that they didn't take any. I am going to a party tomorrow and wondered if along with what I am bringing, should I grind some ham up and make a ham salad to be put on nice crackers or rolls? I don't want it to look like I'm pushing leftover ham from Christmas but it will only be the 6th day and it's only the two of us here, so I hate to waste it. I'm not sure if I should just skip the idea or use it up. I don't want to look like an old cheapo.
Yummy Recipes
I bought two Foster Farms Chickens, on sale, not over $5.00, well I got three meals out of those two chickens, cut each up for frying the best parts, made chicken soup with the less desirable parts, back, etc. adding my last frozen pack of tomatoes from DH garden last summer, and other veggies, bow tie pasta, sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan, Yummie.  The other two packages, one will be oven fried chicken, recipe on breadcrumb container and the other from my Campbell's Soup Cookbook, something or other.  Not bad for the price!
New dinner recipes
Hey all........I am sitting here (before lunch) thinking what the heck I'm going to make for dinner....I am sooooo tired of making the same things, week after week.....anyone have any new, easy dinner recipes??  Maybe your same-old will be new to me!
There are a lot of recipes for microwave
fudge floating around. I don't have one but the ones I have eaten are very good.
