I found this site of recipes wanted to share
All these recipes look good, from the Rice Dream/Soy Dream product - I want to make the macaroni casserole, pumpkin corn chowder, rice dream cupcakes with chocolate frosting, soy dream garlic mashed potatoes, banana berry smoothie, French Dream toast. Heck I want to do all of their recipes. They all sound good so wanted to share the site:

We are going to a family reunion this weekend and I'm looking for some new ideas for something to take.  Not anything too complicated since I work full time at home with 4 kids plus mother-in-law and 2 extra family members will be here tonight from Arizona and staying with us.  Can be anything - dessert, side, main etc.  Just having a hard time coming up with anything really yummy to feed a big group.  Have lots of chicken in the freezer so maybe something down that line. Thanks!!

Why would you want recipes when
you find disgusting? That is very strange.
Looking for recipes
Okay - i'm looking for really yummy dinner recipes that are very cost-effective.  During the week it's mainly me and my 7-year-old and I'm sick of spaghettios, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets.  Hubby is home on weekends but I get tired of making the same things every weekend, not to mention the cost of groceries sometimes makes it difficult to have the "standard" meat, potatoes, veggie, bread dinner!  TIA
Looking for recipes for...

microwave candies or relatively foolproof stove-top or oven methods, preferrably ones that have been tested.   I typically bake and decorate iced cake-mix cookies and make up gift boxes for neighbors, friends, the mailman, etc.,  but candies would be a nice addition...fudge, divinity, pralines, nut brittles, killer brownies or anything else you may have in your repertoire would be appreciated.

many many rotel recipes
go to the below link and enjoy. Ro-tel is a wonderful addition to almost any recipe.

http://www.texmex.net/Rotel/main.htm

Also for an added idea take a brick of softened cream cheese and pour some mexican Ro-tel on and serve with chips. Also add some cooked ground sausage to the Velveeta with Ro-tel.

Rotal adn Velveeta are staples in my home and I live in WA and I can buy it at any major grocery store.

HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY!!!!

cooking/recipes
Is there a cooking or recipes board available - just curious.
Any recipes/ideas for
leftover roast, besides stew!
Tripe recipes
If you're really interested in tripe recipes there are some in Maya Angelou's cookbook. I haven't tried any of them so I have no idea how good they are.
bread recipes
Would the kind lady who posted her bread recipes please reply to me, even if it is my private e-mail address,  with the recipes that she had for 4 loaves of bread.  My hard drive crashed and even though I copied the recipe  to my word expander, I was not able to print it out.
So, where's those cookie recipes?
Go ahead flood the board with cookie recipes. I can handle it.. I can bake every one of them, while I am listening to one dictator flip pages, and the other pausing..c'mon give me whatcha got.  But seriously, I need some new ideas for the kids because pop n fresh dough holiday cookie cut outs.  PS: See, I am finally getting in the holiday spirit.
No recipes here, just wanted to say...
Glad you're gettin' in the spirit and feeling better!
Leftover ham recipes?
I had a big spiral ham Christmas Eve buffet but too much other food and a large portion, over half, not touched. I never leave my food out long, asked everyone if they were sure they didn't want more, put it in the fridge with intent to send some home with them but they had so many cookies, etc., to take that they didn't take any. I am going to a party tomorrow and wondered if along with what I am bringing, should I grind some ham up and make a ham salad to be put on nice crackers or rolls? I don't want it to look like I'm pushing leftover ham from Christmas but it will only be the 6th day and it's only the two of us here, so I hate to waste it. I'm not sure if I should just skip the idea or use it up. I don't want to look like an old cheapo.
Yummy Recipes
I bought two Foster Farms Chickens, on sale, not over $5.00, well I got three meals out of those two chickens, cut each up for frying the best parts, made chicken soup with the less desirable parts, back, etc. adding my last frozen pack of tomatoes from DH garden last summer, and other veggies, bow tie pasta, sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan, Yummie.  The other two packages, one will be oven fried chicken, recipe on breadcrumb container and the other from my Campbell's Soup Cookbook, something or other.  Not bad for the price!
anybody have any good dip recipes
I bought a couple bags of those cornchips called scoops.  Last night I made guacamole but now I've got 1 and 1/2 bags of chips left.  Anyone have any good ideas of things I could use them for?
New dinner recipes
Hey all........I am sitting here (before lunch) thinking what the heck I'm going to make for dinner....I am sooooo tired of making the same things, week after week.....anyone have any new, easy dinner recipes??  Maybe your same-old will be new to me!
There are a lot of recipes for microwave
fudge floating around. I don't have one but the ones I have eaten are very good.

Thanks for all the good recipes.  My mother used to be the "queen of candy making" until she got Alzheimer's but I never wrote down her recipes if she ever had one; and of course could not remember how she made it or the variations - she just "winged it" and I stirred it because she had severe arthritis in her hands.  Thanks for sharing!
Need some Xmas goodies recipes..
Looking for recipes to make some fairly easy yet yummy Christmas goodies for gift giving.  No heavy baking or long recipes please.  Stuff along the lines of snack mixes, that powdered sugar "puppy chow" (I think that's what it's called lol), etc.  Stuff that can be made in large batches ahead of time and not needing refrigeration.  There are so many great cooks out here..so this is the first place I thought of to get some great ideas.  Thanks ahead to all who respond!! :)
Anyway cook using Rachel Ray's recipes? sm
I'm always looking to try something different and her 30 minute meals sure look tasty and easy.
I love her recipes, but WAY too many ingredients
I had a bunch of her books but ended up selling them on ebay cuz I never had all the ingredients on hand and didn't want to spend a fortune getting them.
Try this site...you can mix and match the different recipes.... : )

Anyone got good low-cal doggie recipes?

I'm looking for both snack and meal recipes for an older dog that's kind of sedentary but LOVES to eat.  I'm convinced the food at the grocery store is either highly caloric or filled with a bunch of junk.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Recipes for a newlywed game!!! SM
Hey gang. I've been reading all of your posts about different recipes. I've been married about a year and a half and I'm sad to say that I only have about 10 meals that I know I can make. My problem is...I'm just not creative enough to think up of different things. So, I thought not only as a helpful tool for me, but also for others, could you please post your "go-to" meal for either breakfast, lunch or dinner and lets see how many recipes we can share with each other. Thanks so much and I'll start...

My favorite thing to make for dinner is beef stroganoff. I take about a pound of tenderized stew beef and about a 1/4 pound of mushrooms and brown them in a pan. Then I add two packages of McCormick stroganoff mix (I get mine from Safeway) along with 10 ounces of sour cream. I cook this down until it is nice and thick. Then I pour it over egg noodles! SOO SOO SOO good. Pair it with some garlic bread (my husband's specialty) and you're good to go!

Now...lets see what else we can come up with to help each other out (especially me...lol).

Thanks ladies!!!
Check Oprah for dog food recipes
She had a repeat show on this week about dog training and dog food recipes. She also had an author on, referencing his book on wholesome foods for pets. I would check her website out for sure. I know we have been scared for our dogs after the recent pet food scare. Our vet previously had recommended feeding our dogs plain hamburger and rice. They love it, but we don't feed them that all the time.
Ideas and recipes all sound good...
Now I have to make up my mind which to try tonight! That is a nice dilemma to have.
I need recipes for pretty, fruity, fun drinks
or coffee drinks. My sons, their dates, and two other couples of coming to our house tonight after the senior prom. They plan to play Dance, Dance Revolution and watch movies on the big screen. Of course, they asked me about it only an hour ago! I'm happy to have the kids over, but wish I had a little time to plan. I will stay up when they are here and will make them breakfast. I have one of those waffle makers that you see at hotel breakfast buffets, so they will have waffles and other breakfast goodies, but I thought it would be fun to serve them some pretty drinks in some of my fancy glasses that I never use. Nonalcoholic, of course! I think I'd like to make up two pitchers, something fruit-based and something coffee-based.

Does anyone have any good recipes?

Let's all share our favorite crockpot recipes!

Mine is:

CROCKPOT LASAGNA

1 lb. hamburger
26-28 oz. spaghetti sauce
8 oz. tomato sauce
9 oz. (8) lasagna noodles
1 lb. jar alfredo sauce
12 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/4 c. parmesan cheese

Brown hamburger in skillet and drain. Spray crockpot with cooking spray. Spread 3/4 c. spaghetti sauce in bottom of crockpot. Stir remaining spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce into hamburger. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, break noodles if necessary. Top with 1/3 of the alfredo sauce, spreading evenly. Sprinkle with 1 c. of Mozzarella cheese. Top with 1/3 of hamburger mixture, spreading evenly. Repeat layering twice, using 2 noodles in the last layer, sprinkle parmesan on top. Cook on low 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours. Cut into wedges. Makes 8 servings.

You don't have to boil the noodles.

As soon as I found out
I was really excited because we weren't planning on having a second child so as soon as I found out I told everyone. Thankfully all went well. I would think it would be up to the individual. My friend never told anyone until she was 5 months or so along because she had suffered a miscarriage earlier and was having some symptoms that she was worried about.
found these...

Nestle chocolate (like chocolate milk)

Neopolitan ice cream

nachos (don't know how much kiddies will like those though)

I never found out as a kid.
I guess I was really lucky, because no other kids ever told me about Santa and I never questioned it with my parents. I guess I knew at a certain age, but I don't recall what age it was (probably well into my teens).

My kids are 14, 10, and 8 and they all still believe. They tell me that some of their friends say Santa doesn't exist, but they don't believe their friends. My kids think it's sad that they don't believe in Santa.

I don't think kids need to be told about Santa. At some point they'll figure it out on their own, if not now then when they have their own kids!!!
I think we found it...
Thank you to all of you who shared some great ideas. As many of you I considered the baby monitors, however, I was trying to think of all the "what-if's" and was worried that if she fell going down the hall to the bathroom in the middle of the night, she might not be close enough to a monitor in a nearby room to make enough "noise" to get our attention, especially considering she is still somewhat short of breath following the surgery..might not have enough wind in her to be able to yell out for help. I did find what I think we need and am going to RadioShack tomorrow to check it out. It had some great reviews from people that have purchased it for much the same reason..to alert someone else in the house instead of a pricey call center..however, does still give her the cability of reaching 911 if we happen to not be home at the time. Thanks again for everyone who took the time to post a response. If the product below (I hope the link works) is not what we need we will look further into some of the other posts. And if anyone else out there finds themselves or a family member in the same situation (we will hope not), then this might be something to keep in mind.

Wish you all a very merry Christmas with your families.

I FOUND IT....Thanks for your help!!
I went back to Google and typed in toothpaste commercials. it took going through a couple pages, but I came across a Rembrandt toothpaste site and someone else mentioned the hot and steamy commercial. The song is *Waterfall* by Griffin House! Guess what I am buying this afternoon!

so thanks again for the suggestion. I never would have found it otherwise! yippee
this is what I found about

I googled posttubal ligation syndrome and found this info...hope it helps.  I have heard some doctors refer to posttubal syndrome when talking about a patient's heavy menses after a TL...just something to think about.  I wasn't aware of this when I had mine 8 years ago, but boy believe me, if I had known, there's no way I would have had it done...

A study in Britain followed 374 posttubal patients and found that 43% had subsequent
gynecological treatment for such conditions as heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual
disturbances requiring hormonal treatments, cervical erosion, ovarian tumors, and
recanalization of the fallopian tubes requiring a second operation.

Another British study of tubal ligation found a 40% increase in menstrual blood loss;
26% of the group experienced increased menstrual pain. Women who had used the Pill
before their tubal ligation reported more of these complaints than other patients.

Re found Dad
You might want to contact him, if for no other reason than family medical history.  It is important for all of us to know what kind of illnesses are in our family.  For instance, I didn't know until 2 weeks ago that my grandfather had had bleeding ulcers when he was a young man and had to have part of his stomach removed.  I found out when the doctor was asking me about family history of ulcers.  My mother, all 3 of my brothers, and myself all have had problems with our stomachs with gastritis, reflux, etc.  It seems that there is some kind of a hereditary issue; the doctor thinks maybe a hypergastric nerve or somekind of genetic thing.  It's something to think about.
Found it!!! Thanks again :) nm

Found out that is exactly what I have, the
Bakelite, 2 braclets and 1 that is ?? Went on line and found out might also have a cameo ring from Mother that could possibly be the same thing. I have an old radio from my father and found that Bakelite used in older radios. Found a pearl pin with gold behind it that could also be worth $$$. The second Tuesday of each month is an antique sellers delight close by my home, loads of stuff including jewelry. I am going there this next time and ask for advice on the price of my items. I definitely will not include these in the community yard sale, figured they were worth something as I knew a little about the older jewelry. I will not sell to the people at the antique place before I get several appraisals. Thanks for all this, otherwise I might have made a BIG mistake!
Not that they have found but
the police, apparently from the bodily fluids they say they have gotten, show she is dead and also apparently showing large quantities of this medicine in the fluids. This is really interesting case.
Found it. Thanks so much for your help.
