Pizza is every kids favorite!
I have used the pie irons before but never thought of anything other than the desserts or grilled cheese. Pizza sounds like an easy and healthy lunch for the kids that they will actually eat and can help make. Thanks so much!
So go over and have pizza..what's the big deal?
Not like she asked you to plan it or have it at your place and cook a meal. Maybe I'm not understanding.
How much do you tip the pizza delivery guy?

I usually give them 3 or 4 dollars.

But I got to thinking with the cost of gas, maybe that's not enough? Don't they usually pay for their own gas?

How much do you tip?

California pizza
I always wondered if they were any good... now I can try one
Never had mac and cheese pizza, but
I have my grandmother's recipe that we grew up on of baked mac and cheese. So much better than the box varieties.
If you're talking about Pizza Hut then....sm
the $1.50 fee goes to the restaurant to help pay the base salary for the drivers. I know because I asked the manager when they started this practice a few months ago. I usually give a 20% tip as they always deliver pizzas to my house within 20 minutes and faster than the internet says they'll deliver when I place the order.
does pizza hut begin with the letter D?
nm
I like my pizza stone and can opener the best.
Any stone is nice if you bake.  The items I use and LOVE the most are their spatulas.  Everything is kinda pricey.  They do have things in all price ranges though.  I also like their cook books.  I have never been to a power party!  Have fun.
Pizza in a home over. Not hot enough. Tasty, but sm
never as good as baked in a real pizza oven.
Pizza Hut - He was a cook and I was a waitress. nm

Here's the pizza guy's point of view

The pizza place we order from
I have assumed that would go to the driver.
I wish I MADE as much as a pizza delivery guy

Homemade Pizza Dough

Does anybody have a recipe for a good pizza dough recipe that does not take a long time to make?

Also what do you put on your homemade pizza?

Pizza Hut - he was a cook and I was a waitress :)

Uncooked whole tomatoes on pizza
We have that here. I actually love it. It's like a bruchetta.
My ultimate favorite pizza
Is the Pizza Margarita (sp?). It's the one where the crust is brushed with EVOO and then just topped with slices of mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and fresh leaves of basil. I adore it, and would you believe cannot find it in the central California area?

The only regional foods where I live are pretty much raisins and grapes *sigh*

We're more famous for our crime rate than our cuisine, lol!
The pizza I had in Buffalo was supposedly
pepperoni. The whole tomatoes were supposedly the sauce. I love, love, love tomatoes, just not what tastes like whole, uncooked on my pizza.
Never buy frozen pizza from the store
I have never found one that does not taste like eating a piece of cardboard. I have a Johnny's Pizza probably as close as the nearest store and my goodness, what terrific pizza but I also love my pepperoni and green olive stromboli. Yum, yum.
California Pizza Kitchen
makes a very good frozen pizza; for a while I was hooked on the 5-cheese and tomato. You can just see the calories dripping off of it.
pizza delivery tipping question

Hi all:  I've recently noticed that a prominent pizza chain that begins with a D has started charging me a 1.50 delivery charge.  I normally tip the delivery guy anywhere between 3 and 6 depending on amount of order, weather conditions, etc.  I'm wondering who this 1.50 goes to and why are they charging me 1.50.  If goes to the delivery guy, great, more power to him.

Also, do you tip higher on Superbowl Sunday?  Just curious.  TIA

LOL, I like pizza in Italy...thin crust...sm
But there are many NY foods I crave (live in the south now)......actually entire neighborhoods I crave...Chinatown, Little Italy, Germantown, etc.
Turned out to be Domino's pizza - which I ordered
I tell you, it's a tough world!
Will watch, but no party..maybe some pizza and wings...nm

cookies, home made pizza..sm

Go to the www.pamperedchef.com web site and find your stone under products. They will give recipes.

Is the flat stone?  Cookies come out beautiful, Frozen french fries or tater tots, make your own pizza using frozen bread dough.. there are more options if you have the stone with the sides.

happy birthday!! chololate and pizza -
my kinda gal!! Can't top that...except maybe giving this profession a kick in the prat and retiring!!

don't work - hoop'n'holler
Super easy homemade pizza
Very yummy and under $10 Serves 3-4
1 lb ground hamburger or 1 bag of pepperoni
1 box jiffy pizza crust mix
1 bag shredded pizza cheese
1 jar pizza sauce

Brown hamburger, drain; set aside. Make crust mix as per directions. Put into pizza pan - bake 3 minutes. Layer sauce, a little cheese, meat, then more cheese. Bake on 350 degrees for about 12-15 minutes. You won't believe how delicious this is!
I once called in a pizza order to be picked up
and the guy on the phone said off-handedly....I don't need to charge you the extra dollar since it is not being delivered. I asked if that dollar went to the delivery person and he sheepishly said no. Really ticked me off.
Our pizza guys get $7.50 an hour plus tips.
I don't feel bad at $2 tips. He's making more than min wage here.

If he wants more money, he needs to get into a better job.

What is your favorite frozen pizza from the store?

What frozen pizza do you like? Alot of times we'll get a pizza on Friday night. Figuring a frozen is cheaper than pick up?

It's really hard not to do a drive through when you're running around on the weekends. Just wondering what others do to help cut down on the cost of eating out.

It's just me and 2 kids, 8 & 9 yr old.

Pizza for us too (delivery) - my cuboards are bare
Been bare all week. Tired of meals consisting of popcorn, potato chips, or buttered rice (nothing else, just buttered rice), and other "non-meal" items.

Glad the weekend is here to do grocery shopping.
You must live in a high pizza delivery paying
area that they get $7-8/hr.  Most make minimum, if that, but keep their tips.  Oh, add in gas to save you the trip of lugging it home yourself, then yes $2 is insulting.
I am having a South Beach pizza and putting some fat free

cheese on it with a little fried ground beef to make it more tasty.  LOL!  I live alone and have gotten out of the habit of cooking.  However, on Sunday I made my mom and stepfather salmon cakes and scalloped potatoes.  It was very good, and my mom ate better than I have seen her eat in some time.  Perhaps I should cook more often.

FYI:  I don't get the South Beach pizza to lose weight, just because it is a little better for me than regular.

Rewarmed frozen Safeway pizza from last night.

Once they get their pizza and the DVDs going, they'll yak all night & have a blast w/o any games

Small group family/friends out for bowling and pizza

Anything I want - kids are going to Grandma's!

Should I make the kids sleep over at Grandma & Grandpa's? (sm)
My MIL frequently asks for my children to sleep over.  In the past, I would force them to go a couple of times a year.  The problem is they cry and beg me not to make them go, even now when they are 7 and 10 years old.  My MIL is a good person, but she doesn't ask them what they want to do, she tells them what they are going to do.  "Now you are going to help me make cookies, then we are going visiting."  She doesn't do anything bad, but their home really is incredibly boring.  They are very active in their community..but it is sort of "all for show" and they like to take the kids around and "show" them to everyone.  I do understand this, but you would not believe the begging and pleading and crying I get from the kids not to have to go.  Would you make them go? If so, how often?
being a grandma
My son-in-law hits the baby. He acts like he is all hyped up on drugs andis really aggressive. There is nothing I can do.

You should give your kids a book about how really smart and gifted children act like heathens when the eat junk food. There are tons out there. Maybe they will take the hint.
my grandma....
Has some money and my mom tries to help her decide what to do with it. I still don't understand what your sister's deal is. Are you implying she WANTS the money when your mother passes away? My mom also speaks about my grandma "losing it", but never mentions MONEY. I think it is right of you to put your foot down with your sister but ALSO discuss the will with your mother. I'm not sure the kind of relationship you have... but I know that my mom can do it with my grandma. I hope you can too
a grandma at 40 wow!
my mom was pushing for that then too but she had to wait until she was 50! ha :)

congratulations and best wishes to your kids and thank your son please for enlisting in the service!
Why should Grandma have to .........sm
help raise 14 kids that her obviously disturbed daughter wants? Grandma raised her child and that child is now a grown adult and supposedly capable of making her own decisions. If she decided to have 14 kids, then she should raise them and not the grandmother.
grandma here...sm
New 1st-time grandma here... I suggest Baby Einstein DVDs, bibs, diapers, Boppy pillow, cloth diapers/burp rags, Onsies in different sizes, books...
I learned from my grandma's and we did that for my FIL.
His service was the best...just friends telling stories about him. I think the reason for the "saving" is because my grandma's funeral was in Iowa. Plus, honestly, I didn't expect that. It was horrible.
grandma care

Does anyone know any good sites for information on taking care of the elderly.  My grandmother is 82 and is in a steady decline, but all i find online are places to put her and in care aids.   Thanks for any help.

grandma's house

No, I would not make them go - Not all people are meant to be the Norman Rockwell grandma.  Why should you subject your children to that?  Let her take them for an afternoon or even a whole day if she has something fun planned, then get them before bedtime.  I have two grown sons, 31 and 33 years.  My older son used to love to go to grandma's house.  My younger son hated it.  All kids are different.  Let them choose.  JMHO.

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (NM)

decision on grandma
I decided to email tell my grandmother i would bring the boys to her house Tuesday to do their Christmas visiting.  I haven't contacted my mother, she lives beside my grandmother; maybe she will come over when she sees my car.  Who knows?
Thought it was my grandma
We moved into my grandmother's house after she passed away. One morning while I was asleep that paralyzing episode happened to me. I always thought it was grandma's ghost. For years after I had nightmares about it. For some reason I thought she was mad because her things were moved and she wanted things exactly the way she had them.
Son's wedding - Grandma is insisting
does not want at THEIR wedding. How do I, as the groom's mother, handle this. This has put us in a very awkward situation and I am not liking it at all. She calls me and then immediately calls our son and is leaving nasty messages on both phones. Threatening messages, may be a better word for it. By the way, grandma is also my mom.
I am old enough to be a grandma, but had my son very late in life.
I am tired all the time, but glad to have him. I just can't get off the floor when I play with him there. Anyway, paper dolls! And imagination! And club houses we made with chairs and sheets, or boxes. But we had to put everything away when we were finished playing, and only play with 1 thing out at a time. Today I was just thinking, by the time I finish picking up the house, the kids are back home again and the house is trashed. Ugggg. My parents never nagged at me. They did not have to. I knew 4 o'clock meant vacuuming and that I'd have to wash the pots and pans if I were naughty instead of my mom doing them. And there were no automatic dish washers, or even phone answering machines! So much to remember. If my mom were alive today, she would not even imagine the things we have and how computers have changed the world!
