my issue was I did not go into labor until they broke my water after I'd been on pitocin. Day 1 nothing happened, tried again day 2 at 6 a.m., they broke my water around 10, finally went into labor, epidural about 2 or 3 p.m., daughter born at 6:34pm, luckily only 34 minutes of pushing for me--- second time I did go into labor on my own, they again had to break my water though--- the pitocin did not make it any more intense or painful for me, I'd say it was about the same both times, but again every woman is different.
